Known Info

Ben Grindle is a retired Stormtrooper Captain hailing from pre-First Order days of the Imperial Remanent. For the past few years, Ben could be found gorging himself on Corellian Ale on the beaches of Mon Cal, surrounded by Twi'lek dancers, while eating exotic food getting fat; but something happened. Ben's been pulled out of retirement for whatever reason. Fate would have it that he'd be recruited as the newest member of Mara Jade's crew.

Early Life & Career

Back before the great war that splintered the Empire's grip on the Galaxy, the Grindle family ruled on Coruscant as high class Imperial citizens and sympathizers. Ben was born at the height of Imperial Rule, the only son of the two morally maligned nobles. Despite his parents cold demeanor, Ben had a fairly normal child hood, if you exclude the indoctrination that occurred on a nearly hourly basis. To Ben, the Empire could do no wrong. The Emperor was a god among men, and Darth Vader was the cold fist of the law. He grew up with great aspirations, having childish fantasies of conquering the stars beside the legendary heroes of the Imperial Regime.

Unfortunately after the Battle of Endor, everything went wrong for the Grindle family. Coruscant was no longer a safe-haven for Imperial sympathizers. Forced to flee the system, the Grindle family endured heavy financial loses and was forced to considerably downgrade their lifestyle on a new planet. With all that happened, there was never a moment of defeat to Ben, a set back at best. He was extremely devoted to the Empire, even with the heavy backlash that haunted the infamous Battle of Endor!

As he grew older he developed an obsession with the Military, and realized what he wanted to do after his primary education in the Imperial Academy. With the destruction of the Death Star, and loads of Stormtrooper casualties, the Empire was hurting for Stormtroopers. Against his parents best wishes, Ben enlisted as a grunt as soon as he was old enough, leaving behind his life of comfort.

Once enlisted, Ben served loyally for twelve years, climbing the ranks at a steady pace. Many wars were fought, hundreds of lives were taken. He witnessed things that would never leave him, and events that he'd rather never think about again.

While he served as a Stormtrooper, he had undying support for the Empire, but he eventually grew tired of the increasingly evil deeds they were required to commit. He no longer fought for the Empire, but for his brothers in arms against the opposing threat. He held a position of leadership for many years before finally retiring once the First Order took over command. It was a subtle shift in leadership, and it was one that Ben did not survive.

Retirement & The Present

In Ben's retirement, he adopted the life of a beach hermit, occupying the uninhabited beach of Mon Cal with a few Twi'lek girlfriends of his. Ben had faced death more times than he'd like to admit, and the idea of sleeping on beaches and drinking ale until he passed out was something that had intrigued him. For a few years, he neglected working out, allowing his body to lose it's extremely muscled form, and he was totally fine with it.

After a while, Ben began to rethink his golden days as a soldier. Yearning for adventure, the ex-soldier returned to civilization (for the most part). He honed his skills and body to a reputable degree. From time to time, Ben's old squad mates would hit him up and request his assistance on contracts. Most of the time it was honest work, but there were times where it had been questionable. Despite it, he had been loyal to his brothers who he survived and killed with, it was his only true tie left of the Empire.

A few months after helping out on a mission that indirectly benefitted the First Order, Mara Jade heard of Ben's return to the game. For whatever reason, she decided to call in an old debt, one that Ben would honor to the fullest.
