History

Galak Varga was born in the slums of Nar Shaddaa to a young prostitute who made her living in a run-down brothel servicing freighter pilots and whatever other scum that made their way through the establishment. The brothel was a fairly ritzy establishment and Galak’s mother was one of the higher priced purchases, but when she managed to get pregnant it wrecked her reputation. The further along she got in her pregnancy, the less use she was to Management. Further and further down the rankings she slipped until she was making the least in the brothel and bedding the most disgusting of the brothel’s patrons and hardly making enough money for it to be worth it, which forced her to go further into Management’s debt to have enough food to survive. So indebted to Management was she, that she didn’t even attempt to fight it when they came for her baby the night little Galak was born. Galak was taken from his mother and sold into the hands of a less than credible foster home that made a living by taking in children of similar circumstance and using them for labor as soon as they were old enough.

Such was Galak’s life for most of the young years of his life, more or less a slave to his foster parents, forced to clean, scrub, and whatever else that they ordered him to do, all in return for a small pittance of food to get him by. It is perhaps no surprise then that he ran away as soon as he was old enough. Raising himself on the streets was hardly easier than the life that he’d had, but at least he was free of the abuse that he had been raised in. He fell in with a street gang composed of youth similar circumstances, inheriting the life of petty theft and violence. He took well to it, his lean body and childhood of distress lending itself to the savage reality that he found himself in. He made his way up through the ranks, skilled enough at fist fighting that he could knock enough heads for most to leave him alone. The living got better the more in depth the gang got with their thievery, fencing the goods they could to earn money for food and a place to stay. Soon enough they caught the attention of a crime boss that started paying the gang to do jobs for him, putting blasters in their hands for added muscle. Galak was fairly decent with a blaster and that only improved the more practice that he got. When he reached his early twenties he took up a job as a bounty hunter, starting small with the easier to capture targets and then moving up as his skill got better.

Recently, Galak has fallen in with the Waywards group. He managed to get his own ship, and is also in the Bounty Hunters Guild.
