Black Squad deploys to the depths of Naboo.

OOC Date: October 26, 2021
Location: Naboo
Participants: Black Squadron, Ulani Kalgaav, Bors Thul, Chani Tahn, Rune, Poe Dameron as Karé Kun

With the coordinates locked on scopes, the Mon Calamari Deepwater-Class transport began to angle down toward the river. Captain Kare 'No Joy' Kun was at the primary controls, flipping several switches down and initiating the depth scanner so that they had an idea of where they could break water and dive. Icy blue engines glow bright at the ship's aft section while the interior of the craft begins to flicker and shake from the varying air pressure shifts and loss of propulsion. Kare was pulling off a hasty submersion to avoid being pinged by sensors for long.

"Are the shields on? I can't see the read out from here?" Kare says after taking the flight yoke with both hands to keep it from violently shaking out of control. She uses the convenience of the buttons on the yoke to control the output and shift of the engines, initiating the sudden propulsion of the ventral jets that began to disperse the murky water beneath them and cover them in a mist. For a moment, they hover in place.

Everyone is in the bridge like cockpit, a spacious and luxurious design (as the Calamari were most known for) with white bulkheads and easy-on-the-eyes blue LED read outs. Purple holo projections flickered occasionally, and the lights dimmed in preparation for the dive. There were plenty of seats for everyone to use.

"Vessel is preparing itself for the depths.. stand byyyyyyy." Kare says, and when there's a loud beeping noise, she slaps down several switches and yanks a lever up. "Going down.. dive, dive, dive.."

BOOOOOSH! The ship hits the water, and the view ahead of them slowly becomes dominated by the murky green of the water. The view of the distant mountains and vibrant blue sky slowly give way to the dark depths of Naboo's waterway. Kare shakes her hand out casually, flexing her fingers before taking the yoke again and sighing. "I hate going under water.."

"Oh I don't know, Kare - this is rather delightful. Granted thine spine would be crushed and the fluids squeezed to join the murky depths within seconds if we were to have a catastrophic hull breech resulting in violent compression shift... But that's just part of the thrill, eh?" Bors is strapped in, beaming and looking out the viewports with a wide eyed sort of wonder. So much so that his monocle is out, held by the chain between two fingers.

"I think I should like to acquire one vessal as this. No gaudy yachts or the like, but to take a delight like this in view of the bay at Bastion." still talking, cleaning the lens of his eyepiece unconsciously. "I think they even make a smaller version, would suit just as well. Maybe we could convince command that an amphibious fighter should be added to the requisitions for the fighter corps. I think that'd be an absolutely smashing idea, no?" grin only broadening as he checks a readout and adjusts his straps.

Flying in the air just makes sense. The ship has wings and repulsors and engines. All the gadgets and do-dads to keep a vessel on the currents of the air. The hulls are built to withstand an atmosphere or no atmosphere. There's comfortable seating, wide windows for views, and on the really nice ships there is a small bar.

So it comes as a shock -- though she knew it was coming -- that the ships they're on crashes into the waves and sinks deep, deep, deep down. Ulani is subconsciously holding her breath as the daylight dims with each fathom under the water. This breath is released in a gasp as Bors describes the horrible death they could experience with only a few malfunctions. Blue eyes, wide, shift to him and stare. And stare. And stare.

One of the two novice Jedi aboard the cruiser watched in trepidation as the transport neared the water. He too is not overly fond of open lakes and oceans, but mostly in the travel on top of them. Rune's one trip below was pleasant enough but the murky nature of the water and the deep greens that greet them when they plunge below, not to mention the increasing darkness the further they dive, is a bit intimidating to say the least. He grabs the arm rests on his chair, alternately peering from readouts, to projections, to the view in front of them while his knuckles turn a light white in his grip.

Not helping things is Bors' offhanded comment about the quite literal crushing depths, the wide eyed Jedi turning his attention from the views at hand to stare at the blasé nature the man gives off. In space, the result would be very much the same, but the distance afforded in the open black gives a bit more comfort to what lies ahead rather than the muck filled liquid that swirls around them. For all he knows they could be heading right for a submerged boulder and not even know it until it fills their view. "I preferred the trip to the city." he mentions, that travel at least having presented them with a pleasant sight.

"Wait until you see what's in the Abyss," Chani murmurs to herself quietly after Bors uses a jaunty tone to suggest to Kare the dangers of traveling at depth in the water. Settled in one of the rotating seats before a redundant console detailing information readily available to the others, Chani trades glances between the blue lit readouts and the distant bank of the water mixing with the rippling, churning surface enveloping the Mon Calamari craft starting to sink under the surface. The murk that awaits them is cut through by bright lights and here, near the surface, it isn't so bad. There's not enough sediment to churn up to obliterate the water clarity down to nothingness. Chani's hands settle, idle, on the straps of the seat's harness.

"You're a morbid huttsucker, Bors. Hahaha, I like it." Comments Kare, who isn't affected at all by the revelation of what crushing deaths awaited them below should systems catastrophically fail. Kare isn't preceptive enough to pick up on much else though as instruments begin to dictate and prompt action from her. She flips a series of switches once they've completely submerged, and finally takes command of their ship to direct them down.

Light beams cut through the murk, and once they're below the channel, they feel the pressure begin to change in their ears; even the hull begins to tickticktick. It's enough that Kare reaches out to pat the console as if appeasing the vessel into holding together, but she doesn't say it. A holographic read out is projected over the dominating main view, and it outlines the shapes of underwater debris and foundations as they come within a certain distance of it. An advanced sonar beeps and echoes, then something answers in a low, growling rumble that sends vibrations through the water. It's not long before they see the source of this noise; a large underwater creature passing along the deep currents and moving deeper into the core.

"What the rekk is that?" She glances toward Chani, "Do we need to bring gunnery online or?"

The creature disappears into the darkness where even their high-beamed light fails to return any notion of what lurks beyond that veil. Kare shakes off a very human shiver that climbs up her spine. Glancing to one side as they continue further down, Kare brings up their map read out, using a program the Gungans used in their speeders to navigate the Core. "..I don't think we're far from the dig site.." She says, adjusting their heading slightly.

A most glorious display of fingerguns is granted to Kare by the appendage not maintaining a grip on his monocle and even a wink while he shuffles in his seat, squashing around the cushions for maximum comfy buns.

"Oh I am absolutely thrilled to see what is down there! I've been reading about them! Even if naught but the briefly screaming end of me comes nigh, I shall have witnessed a legend in flesh!" practically bouncing in his seat, irrepressibly pleasant as usual, one hand moving to drum his fingers rhythmically on his arm rest, half-humming under his breath with a few snatches of lyrics escaping him while he observes,

"Oh a long forgotten cairn O stones..." head bobbing slightly, "Ah for just one time, I would take the Alll-der-a Passage, to find the heart of Organa cast within the field...." reaching for controls to dial up magnification on something through one of the side viewports, "Tracin' one warm line, through a sector now wild and savage. And make an Aldera Passage through the stars."

Trailing off some when the beast has claimed his attention long enough to turn words into a back of the throat humming - awed rather than frightened by the beast. How fantastic!

For some reason, this treck felt different than the other submersible they had taking to get to City Bigspace. Maybe it was the fact they started in the air first and breached the water's surface that way. Or the eerie, ominous tinktinktink of the ship straining against the mountains of water pressure pushing in around them.

Or maybe it was the huge shadow of a lurching monster of the depths swimming past....

But Ulani is hugging her arms and is rather quiet. Feet planted firmly on the floor, the young woman has decided it might be better to just not look at all.

Rune can't help but stare out the viewport, the rest of the instruments and readouts forgotten... especially when the beast of a fish or whatever it is goes swimming past. He'd seen large animals, vicious creatures, on Ossus but they were able to be navigated around. Here, in the water, in one comparatively tiny craft, moving quickly and dodging were not seeming to be in ready supply.

And maybe it's the feelings of the rest of the crew, Bors withstanding, that are creeping into his emotions. The fear of the unknown, the crush of the depths, the unseen obstacles and threats that could be waiting just below, behind, or around them... whatever it is, he too sits quiet with clenched teeth and blanched knuckles. The Ysannan swallows hard and, with furtive eyes, scans the way forward for any other signs of fantastic beasts.

"Looks like an opee," Chani regards it out of the viewport. "I think the Deepwater-class is bigger, so it probably won't attack. If it was going to, it wouldn't have kept going. It's not the worst thing we could have seen." Chani's eyes follow the creature as it heads for a larger tunnel with slow wiggles of its body. It gradually disappears, leaving them free to advance in the area through the Paonga Strait. "Whatever they're doing down here, it's not attracting attention." Not something the size of a starship, at least, because while the opee isn't the size of the Mon Calamari vessel, it's still half as big. "Any droids and mining equipment would be an easy target for an opee. They must be in an unsubmerged cavern or maybe somewhere hidden?"

Kare listens quietly to Bors and Chani, still focused on navigating them toward, at least one of, the sea floor. A proximity alarm triggers and the shield shimmers around the vessel. Something has //hit// them, and Kare has lost control of the craft. Lights, both interior and exterior, cut out, and the view is let to darkness. They HEAR their impact against the floor, bouncing, yet not violently.. then it's quiet.

"This is why, Bors.. this is why command won't fork up the creds to buy one of these things.." The sound of Kare unstrapping from her seat is heard and she clicks on a flashlight in the pitch dark, shining it toward one of the floor panels.

"I knew this was going to happen, I rekking knew it--" A loud, rumbling noise outside the vessel vibrates the water again, this time it's //close//. Kare glances up for a moment, then back down at the panel. "..gods damn it, Pretty Boy, you're going to get me killed..."

A spark flies out of the open panel and Kare smacks the interior with the shaft of the light she's holding. "It's fine, /he says/. Just a few kinks, /he says/. I'm going to break his /perfect/ jaw." The last spark brings the vessel back to life, and the lights cut back on suddenly.

Outside their craft, dust has swirled up around the vessel obstructing the view. That is until Kare takes control and brings them back up to come face to face with a Sando Aqua monster. Its eyes open and focus on the craft in front of it, yet its massive body cannot move.

"THAT is giving me nightmares.. hang on!" She pulls them away from the creature but something catches her eye and she hesitates. "Wait.. why isn't it moving?"

Shining the lights down along the surface, they discover the massive creature has been restrained, and anchored down by the use of harpoons and massive anchors. It is trapped upon the floor, its voice used to scare off the other predators. Beyond its massive body, an installation looms, though it's not making any noise that sensors, or otherwise, can pick up. "I think we found our facility.. what should we do?"

"I'd contest my jaw is of a more pleasing angle anyway." Bors quips with his ever-living grin - which dies shortly after the sight of the great sea beast's revelation. Not that it's there - terrifying yes. Absolutely clenching, but it's still a wonder to be seen. It's the restraints the creature is held by that wipe the glee from the Alderaanian's features.

"Personally I should think it best to free the best and point it at the facility, let the blighters reap what they've sewn and give this creature a proper good smack of revenge for itself."

Stepping up to one of the viewports to rest a hand on it while looking out at the creature. "Yea I suspect we shan't have the fortune of it going for its captors first and thus our trip would conclude with our compressed, digested, remains floating majestically to nearest patch of rock that could serve as surrogate seabed."

Ulani screams. She didn't want to and she immediately regrets it, but it's automatic and primal as the ship crashes into the seafloor and they are buried in pitch darkness. Clinging to her seat, the tech tries to control her breathing; fighting with herself not to have a panic attack. Who would have thought she would develop some kind of fear of bring crushed to death deep underwater? Or the slow, starving death in the dark that would be option B.

Kare's verbal fistshake towards Poe who orbits far, far, FAR above and away from Naboo works wonders for keeping Ulani lucid. Yeah.... Yeah! That... that guy! Mr. So-and-so Pretty Man!

The lights come back on and Ulani breathes a sigh of relief... that is then immediately drawn back in as the sight of the beast just outside of their ship. "I hate this." Good news, everyone. Ulani remembered how to talk.

As if his eyes weren't wide enough before, the impact against their shields and the subsequent loss of control and illumination within the craft have his eyes nearly bulging from his skull. Thankfully the darkness hides all save the slamming of his heart against his chest. The snap of the light from a flashlight has his immediate attention, starved for sight within the black he stares at what her torch illuminates.

A sigh of relief at the reestablished interior lighting turns into a choked gasp at what peers back at them through the viewport. He sits hard up in his seat, straining against the restraints that hold him firm. Rune is in complete agreement with Ulani, he's not too fond of the murky depths either. However, the spike of fear is short lived when Captain Kare points out the restraints that keep the large beast immobilized. Unbuckling his harness, Rune moves over to the transparisteel window to press his hand against the clear pane, gazing out beneath knit brows at the huge creature with a measure of sadness. "If we can, we should set it free. Perhaps once we are done with this facility and are making a hasty exit?"

Chani grunts and yanks to the side in the harness when the Deepwater-class light freighter is smashed from the side and forced to spiral in the water. The intertia jerks her from one side to the next, until a final settling on the floor leaves her hunched forward into the restraints with her fingers clutched tight around the straps of the harness digging into her shoulders. "Well, maybe not," Chani's tone is huskier from the soreness aching through her ribs thanks to the hard yanks of the straps against them. The lights that kick on at the front of the transport make Chani suck in a breath. The size of what they're staring down cannot be overstated. The creature in front of them is gargantuan. It's four times the size of the Deepwater they're in.

And it's blessedly unable to kill them because of how its restrained. Chani inspects the multiple layers of restrictive netting and harpoons used against it and criss-crossed over its flipper-covered limbs. "These creatures eat anything and everything in their path. Its not going to ignore the thing closest to it. How far away can you get before attacking what's keeping it pinned down? The only other option is to figure out hwo they're getting to their facility. There has to be a safe route."

"Best bet is to find an answer in the facility. We can inform Boss Binks of the creature's state and let the Gungans handle it, I think. They're probably more equipped at dealing with that thing than we are.. our mission is the facility. Hang on, I'm going to take us in." Kare reaches over to hit the jammer, then slowly increases their speed for the facility.

Moving around the facility, Kare discovers there's a bay intended for submersibles. She brazenly moves toward it revealing that the spot was vacant. Easing into the location, they rise up into the chamber, emerging from the surface of the water (Think Deep blue sea, where that one chamber was that Samuel L Jackson got killed at). Floating, Kare flipped a switch to enable buoyancy, and they stayed in place.

Around the vessel and inside this large chamber room are a number of droids. They are not activated but standing dormant. There had to be at least ten of them, standing in formation, harpoon weapons in-hand with their heads down as if in silent prayer.

"Alright, let's get our drek and head out. No telling what's in here..-- We should be able to exit from the side hatch and jump to the deck there.." Kare rises up from her seat and takes her A280 rifle from the weapon rack, casting its sling over her torso. She pulls a beanie cap down over her blonde hair, then slides an earpiece in, <"Comm check."> The jammer didn't interfere with their personal comm units so long as it was local.

<"Copy, No Joy."> blast helmet tugged on and AR visor slid down - pressing the side of his helmet to create a better cup for the bud in his ear. Spoken in low tones as they near the exit point and prepare for what Bors's most glorious and inspirational landing.

First on one knee with a 'whup! whup!' hissed out on a stage whisper before he is on his chest and staring at the floor. Graceful. He lays there, calm, extending one hand to give a thumbs up before he starts to get himself picked back up, drawing the old ee-3 off of his back when he's back to kneeling an then a wobbly legged stand.

<<"Ouch.">>

Nothing much else come from Ulani as they each make their way out of the ship. Yes... let the Gungans deal with the monster in chains held at bay in the murky depths. At least here she can be on semi-dry land -- sorta -- and forget she is practically buried alive under-----

Hopping from the ship to the deck, there is a moment Ulani is just a set of flailing arms and legs. Then THUMP! She lands hard on her rear, pain shooting up her tailbone and following the path of vertebrae all the way to her neck.

".... I hate this." Yes. We know.

That's a reasonable plan and one Rune is on board with, even more so when the craft begins moving and more of the creature's size is made apparently. He watches with baited breath as they ease closer and closer to the facility, craning his head to look up as the submersible rises into the airlock.

Surface broken, the crew is greeted with the cold interior of the station, and a number of unmoving droids. These are given a side-eye by the Jedi as he prepares to exit the craft. He's wearing his usual black and chocolate robes, no cloak today, with lightsaber hanging from the wide leather belt that rings his waist. Snagging a comm unit, Rune slips it over his ear and activates the device to give a, <"Copy, I read you."> in response, his voice sounding in two locations due to their proximity.

Side hatch dropped, he follows the crew and gracefully leaps from the submarine to land on the rather slippery deck, sliding a foot or so before his balance equalizes and he stands surefooted. An eyebrow lifts and concern crosses his face at the two that fell during their transition. "You alright?" Rune asks of the pair, a hands extended to help both to their feet if desired.

"How masterful would it have been for them to let us get into the facility before cutting that thing free themselves?" Chani voices the idea out loud while staring out of the viewport and at the interior of the facility the Deepwater-class light freighter rises up into. Restraints going slack around her body once she twists the release near the center of her chest, the metal buckle and tongue clank against the sides of the seat when they're shrugged off. Chani rises with another gentle grunt playing the moment she twists in the motion to step out and away from the seat and console. Both hands raise to adjust the fit of her robe around her shoulders while her boots play out a rhythmic tap against the deck of the ship. The robe's hem sweeps around them.

"Since we're in enemy territory, should one of us stay to guard the ship? It'd be really bad not to have somewhere to retreat to." Chani speaks while appraising the droids organized into two columns near the submerging pool that's allowed them access to the facility. "Doesn't this seem too easy?" It's one question after the next. Chani's brows knit together and her hair flicks at her shoulders while she passes further quick glances around the ship bay they're in.

"You're as bad as Bors, Chani." Kare says, chuckling. There was no reason to believe anyone was outside waiting to release that monster, but.. it was a good question. It left Kare in quiet thought, all the way to the airlock where they leap out. Captain Kun lands firmly on the other side, knees bending to take the weight of her armor. She brings up her rifle and scans the room, stepping ahead with distinct footfalls. "Probably a good call. I should probably hang back; I can keep the vessel running and be ready to get us out of here quickly.." Kun up nods to Bors, "You got it from here, El-tee. See if you can find a central operations or something, download the data that you can and discover what's been getting dug up out here." Kare points out a doorway. "It may seem easy enough, but.. I think that's the way in.." Kare pushes on one of the droids lightly, getting nothing in response.

Accepting the hand up and dusting himself off before the monocle in his right eye nearly drops out. "Copy that, No Joy." checking the charge on his blaster and getting his bearings, "Right... Chani with No Joy, two pairs of eyes making sure nothing breaks off our escape. Techie, in the middle" pausing and staring at Rune for a moment, a stare of only a few seconds that burns on forever.

"Glowstick, I need thee point, thine senses and stick of glowing decimation may be most useful there - I shall guard the rear, not as some back seated commander, nay - but rearguard be needed and I should make the most handsome backside to bee blasted by backshooting cads what manage sneak upon us." speaking in low tones as he looks towards the exits to the landing area,

"Techie, see if you can make rhyme or reason to where our path must lead - to find where we might find central ops or data storage to purloin." slipping into the responsibility as if he were being made to take his place at court and not be allowed to lounge in the background.

With a pain she will be feeling in the morning -- if she gets to see a morning -- Ulani pushes herself back to her feet rubbing the small of her back with a grimace. <"Ow..."> Right, the objective. There will be plenty of time later to have many, many nightmares. <"Information downloading is a speciality,"> she says, trying too hard to be chipper. It doesn't work. Only Bors can pull that off.

<"Copy, Buhbors."> And she puts herself between him and Glowstick, eyes scanning the area with great intensity and concentration. She has... no idea what she is looking at. Like, none. Less than none.

As they pass one of the 'sleeping' droids, Ulani pauses to try a different approach. That pesky datapad of hers is out, connecting to the droid and wiggling her way into the system. <"Ah. Here we go. Must better."> She shows the two men with a grin: <"A map. I believe where we need to go iiiiiis... there.">

She points to a long corridor on the map that leads to an atrium and, within that a lift.

"That would be rather devious." Rune admits to Chani's concern as he hoists Bors to his feet. Hazel eyes roam over the droids in curiosity... it does seem too easy but maybe the folk in the facility figure that giant beast will keep everyone away. And to be fair, had they not crashed right before seeing the creature they may have been warded off as well. Captain Kare's orders are heard and the Ysannan nods to her wishes, removing the lightsaber hilt from his belt to be ready just in case the weapon is needed.

"Copy, I shall..." he starts to respond to Bors before the first word sinks in. "Glowstick." Rune remarks with a chuckle, a final nod to the man before he begins to head toward the doorway.

When Ulani stops and produces her datapad, he waits, cautiously looking from the portal out to the readout that appears on her screen. Once done with her computer wizardry, Rune glances at the map revealed and nods after a moment of study. "Then away we go."

Rune moves to the airlock door before calling back to the pair that stays behind, "Be safe and we will see you upon our return." With clutched hilt in hand, the Jedi stealthfully peers around the doorframe before moving into the corridors beyond.

Kare offers a casual wave and watches them depart, then turns her gaze to the ship.

The corridor is not a tall or wide design, it's just wide enough for a few people to walk shoulder to shoulder and pass through. Lights flicker noisily, and it's quiet. As they round the bend and come to the atrium, they are faced with another submersible pool.. yet this one is massive. Machinery on cranes are retracted and pulled to the top, stowed away. It doesn't take a geologist to recognize that the machinery stowed high above are drills. What's more alarming is what's been exhumed.

Strapped with floatation devices and prepped for launch through an adjacent tube, is a massive scorched cannon shaped object. It has clearly suffered catastrophic damage yet a good portion of the former weapon is still intact; there's even a piece of the hull still attached to a part of the cannon that reads "rhamme".

This massive object is in plain view and can be seen up ahead. To the RIGHT, a lift shaft leads up to some catwalks that are suspended high above. It seems the catwalks connect with an office there.

"Mother protect us... Father grant us the strength..." Bors's expression is numb horror and shock when he reads that miniscule selection of writing to be spied. Swallowing hard and switching to comms since he's at the rear, <<"Glowstick, make sure we've clear path to that office section... Techie we may need to rig this to overcharge and destroy itself... Or if we can let the sea beast outside free to do it for us...">>

Walking past, to proceed on mission, unable to keep himself from expositioning, just a little. <<"That's the Acolyte Cannon... When the Resistance got desperate... and used Death Star technology...">> there's fear there, fear and a form of rage that only survivors of planets like Hosnian Prime, Kijimi and Alderaan could understand.

<<"These sons of slugs are trying to make it their own.">>

The massive weapon is certainly hard to miss, but the words are what draw Ulani's curious eyes as her brain tries to fill in the blanks. <"... Warhammer, maybe?"> Just looking at this gargantuan exavacted object gives her equal amount of awe and dread. Then awe is wiped clean away and only dread remains after Bors' explanation. <"What?"> A rhetorical question breathed more than spoken.

Jogging to keep up after she was stopped in her tracks, Ulani nods over her shoulder to Bors. <"I can bring this whole place down."> It's not often her knowledge of demolitions comes into play, but here it very well might be. And she may even be uncharacteristically eager to do so.

For now, she follows the two men in their path to get the information they came for, all the more ready to get out and collapse this place behind them.

Fitting with the silence that greets them in the corridors, the group moves along quietly with Rune feeling ahead for anyone or anything that may wish them harm. Hopefully the rest of the journey is as unhindered as the initial corridor and, as they pass into the atrium around the corner, it seems at least this leg of the trek will be. Rune is awed by the size of the weapon, the cannon that the pirates were after laid out for transport and reclamation. Apparently they found what they were looking for and have secured it, seems the crew arrived here just in time.

After examining the weapon for a few moments, he steps to the side to head toward the lift. Hand placed on the comm unit at his ear, Rune replies back. <<"Copy, heading skyward.">> The Jedi moves onto the elevator, investigating the controls for a moment before pressing the 'up' button. He'd heard of the Death Star, though only in retellings of stories, and thus is unable to fully understand the enormous destructive power that the weapon could possess. What he does understand is the terror that any powerful weapon can cause and he is very much for that sort of strength not falling into the wrong hands.

The lift initiates to the next level, traveling silently up and stopping at the catwalks. From this height, one could take in the sheer size of the weapon fragment below. It is not complete, and although it may not look like it up close, it's a small portion of a large, large weapon.

The catwalk above is littered with bodies. Some are hung over the railing, while others are face down/up, staring lifelessly. Not all are human, though. There's a number of aliens mixed in, but the most prominent of the races seems to be the blue-skinned and red-eyed Chiss. Two Chiss in particular are arranged (and dead) by the door way leading to the ops center. The door is spattered with carbon scoring.

Upon reaching the door, one would need to remove the dead Chiss' hand from the console controlling the door. It appeared that they intended to lock the room, but died before the action could be carried out; a headshot wound dominates on side of their cranium.

Inside the office, there are a number of terminals and displays at work here. Additionally, the entire ops center is filled with dead, too. There's a terminal available for data uplink, and there are surveillance cameras with views from outside the facility. Something was happening outside... it looked like.. the Sando monster was tearing free from its restraints..

<<"Shazzbot.">> Language Bors...

Hissed over comms, Bors looked over the various dead, the state of the ops room and the surveillance feeds. <<"Glowstick we're going to need to move quick. Whoever was here likely got the plans and did away with the pirates here...">> mouth pulled into an uncustomary snarl, eyes narrowed and skin pale with anger.

<<"Techie see if you can program up a detonation routine... We don't want it to.... well we want it to melt itself, not damage the depths here.">> Plugging in his datapad and running 'drain' protocols to pull as much data as he can while he continues to run at the mouth, <<"Kill Joy, big buddy outside is starting to break free - suggest you haul the ship close to the edge so we can get out fast. Glowstick... cut that thing, I need integrity faults so it'll rip itself apart instead of explode.">> tapping away at his keys, brows knit, <<"None of this demo has to be pretty, just has to work.">> visibly shaking as he thinks about the device he has to destroy.

Navigating the catwalk is trecherous as Ulani is scooting and high-stepping carefully over and around the many, many bodies. A lot of good that does her, really, as the control room is an even higher concentration of dead. <"What... happened here? Who did this?"> Two questions she is sure will be both in the uplink terminal and surveillance footage. Both of which Bors seems to be in the process of nabbing.

<"Copy that. Give me two shakes of a Loth cat's tail."> Such a bright, cute turn of phrase for what amounts to Ulani rigging this facility to turn inwards on itself, meltdown the systems, and collapse. She sets about doing exactly that; picking places where the integrity would do the most damage.

The update about the monster outside working his way free puts a fire under her butt and Ulani scrambles to rewire the last few panels. <"We're set! I can light it up remotely. Can we.... go?">

Rune's jaw drops when the lift reaches the catwalks, he had expected to find people up here, but not in this state. The Jedi steps from the lift to pick his way quietly among the dead, moving along the narrow path bolted high above the floor below. There was definitely a fight here but who or what could have done all this, the number of dead is almost staggering. Rune eyes the carbon scoring on the door before they move the Chiss' hand to enter the office, finding more lifeless eyes inside.

On a whim, he reaches out with the Force, trying to get a grasp of what occurred, what came through to cause all this destruction and death. Instead of an answer, the Force eludes him, vague images flashing but nothing concrete shown. With a sigh, he moves into the smaller room with the other two.

Glowstick nods to Bors' request, his eyes bouncing from one bit of machinery to the next finally alighting on the surveillance cameras outside. <<"Kriff....">> He states, giving a dose of the dirty language himself at the sight of the creature beginning to tear itself free. As stated, they have little time and Rune jumps to complete his order, his head turning to follow where Bors motions. Button on the hilt depressed and column of emerald extended, the Jedi moves out to the catwalk to 'cut that thing', slicing along welds and structure points, weakening the overall stability of the cannon so that when it explodes it'll go off bit by bit rather than through one huge boom.

After a number of scores made, he retracts the lightsaber and heads back into the office, echoing Ulani's wish to depart. <<"Yes, please. I have a bad feeling about this... place.">>

"Proximity alert. Proximity alert. Proximity alert." Repeats an alarm that warns of the Sando's building rage. Both Chani and Kare have made it back inside the vessel to begin the easing it closer to the side of the submersible pool. <<"We're set here, Lieutenant. Do what you need to get done, and get back here, now. We don't have a lot of time!">> Kare's voice is fairly calm despite the impending doom. Surveillance shows the last restraints being ripped free from the beast's flesh, and its large yellow gaze settles on the facility disturbing its peaceful habitat.

Pressure fluctuates in the facility as things begin to act up. The bulkheads and floors shake and tremble with the creature's approach. They can hear the mournful growl as it draws near. Proximity alerts begin to trigger the rotating red lights.

Droids come to life in the chamber where Kare and Chani were. The droids chant, "Restraining protocol activated. Proceed with deployment.." They march into the water, dropping into the pool and into the depths of the sea to reach the floor, harpoons in hand.

<<"Copy, No Joy.">> Bors begins to move at a hustle, <<"All elements, exfiltrate - back to the ship. Techie set off the demolitions as soon as you feel we're safe for it.">> Feel it. There you go. That's some precision timing there. The Alderaanian's rifle is slung back over his shoulder, reaching out for Ulani as they start to make their run.

Breath in his ears, listening to alarms and seeing droids beginning to power up once they enter the chamber. "That's not going to go well." huffed out as he points for the submersible. Legs pumping in a MOST unlordly fashion. This is like the way the HELP moves.

ITS UNCONSCIONABLE!

Somewhere Uypiia is giggling while star gazing off of a balcony.

But the ship is near and he leads to the hatch, standing to one side and waiting for the other two to get in and clear before he's willing to dive in after.

The entire facility trembles as the creature outside breaks free and exacts immediate, delicious revenge. With them still inside. Already railings are breaking away from the walls and catwalks are creaking and groaning under the strain of their own weight.

Naturally she starts running, as well. Naturally she about falls to her death as she trips over a corpse and almost off the catwalk. Bors is there to catch her at the last moment and pull her back into an upright position.

And the trio are running for their lives. Scrambling into the ship, Ulani all but dives into her seat and straps in, waiting for them to clear the underground facility so that she can blow the entire thing away.

The first shudder of the floors catches Rune off guard, his hands flying to the side at the tremor that runs through the facility. Once the other two are through the door and back toward the lift, he follows, jumping onto the lowering lift while he quietly wills it to go faster. With the facility groaning and breaking around them there is no time to spare to get out, and when the lift reaches ground floor, the trio sprint down the corridors toward the airlock.

The alarms and protests from the pressure on the facility propel their flight as they race toward freedom, rounding the airlock door to hurry into the submersible. Once inside, the Jedi bolts into a seat, strapping himself in with haste before staring at the viewport ahead of them once the craft gets underway. It's in Captain Kare's hands now and he hopes that she's able to maneuver the ship in a non-interesting sort of way, something to fly beneath the creature's notice and out to safety.

The moment the hatch indicator flashes green for secure, Kare pulls back on the lever to submerge the vessel. <<"Find a seat and strap down!">>

They manage to get underwater just as the chamber they were in began to stress fracture and break, spewing water through the cracks. Kare tosses her beanie cap off and takes hold of the controls, wheeling them around to come face to face with the Sando monster. "Rekk you!" She screams at it, jerking the yoke and slamming the throttle back. The vessel lurches in that direction and evades the toothy bite. Another swing of its arm is avoided.. then its tail, and Kare is getting away.

By the time they reach minimum safe distance, an explosion consumes the facility, imploding first, then expanding outward.

"Come on, girl.. COME ON!" Kare screams at the ship as they're getting closer and closer to the surface. She initiates the transfer from aqua to aerial vessel just as the break the surface.

The sudden change in gravity and lack in drag puts Kare FIRMLY against her seat as the blast off toward the sky! Behind them, the surface of the deep channel bubbles before exploding upward with water. By the time the channel settles back to normal, the Deepwater-Class transport zips from view in a sudden jolt, a micro-hyper jump initiated.

Mission complete. The Gungans would have to verify the destruction of the facility and its contents.

Emerging in another sudden zip from hyperspace, Kare sets back heavily against her seat and brushes back through her hair with both hands. "Ugh, I love this job.."
