Drik Plot: Something To Tell

OOC Date: April 5, 2015
Location: Malachor cargo hold
Participants: Russ Ordo, Narsai Odo, Oriana, Rax Vaelus

The battle of Dxun was not so long ago now, and The Malachor is still undergoing extensive repairs after the pitched battle against Mandalore the Igniters fleet. Luckily overall few Mandalorians lost their lives, but the toll on their space capability was large. The Malachor is lit by the fire of welders and other mechanical tools going to work, large rends and melted blaster holes dot the exterior of the ship. Russ rests in the cargo bay, letting himself be seen so that people truly believe he is still alive after his showdown with Mandalore the Igniter. He looks worse for wear, he has been for a dip in the bacta tank but still he is hooked up to an IV with heavy bags remaining under his eyes and bandages covering much of his bare torso. There are still men on the surface of Dxun but the crew of the Malachor and those worst injured are currently recuperating on Nar Shaddaa.

The Thunderheart had docked with the Malachor, some swift repairs needed after that risky maneuver hadn't quite worked perfectly to get her aboard the Igniter's ship. It would do, at least until they made it back to Nar Shaddaa and she could finish the more complex repairs. Stepping into the cargo bay, Narsai's armor is still blackened by grease and work, but she'd been fortunate. No blaster bolts had found her in the fray this time, but not for lack of trying. "You look worse then that time you got into that drinking competition in the Hutt district."

It seems like nobody can escape the trials of life. Oriana has been away for a while, called off for a mission with the Resistance, that turned into more back to back, and following them many an injury. One can see that she has a bruise on her neck that works it's way down to her shoulder, whatever else there is, is hidden by her clothing. This time around, it's not her typical wear. Some black leggings, a sky blue tank top and atop of that and a cream coloured woven sweater to keep warm. Tired as she is, there is work to be done still, and rest will come.. one day, maybe. Coming into the cargo hold her sunglasses are pulled off and tucked into her loose wavy hair, big eyes look around. Spotting Russ she frowns, knowing all to well what that's like. Heading his way a tired smile would be given once near, and a box with a bow held out for him as a glance is given to Narsai. "Hey you." She greets, then looks to the male Ordo.. "I wasn't sure what to get, you only ever wear your armour, and well I didn't know if a box of hair dye would be as funny to you as it was in my head. Then I figured, what the hell men love food, right? Bottomless pits I'm told.." Eyes move to the box, she tilts her head, and then looks back up to him, trying to keep this a little light hearted and amused, which is sort of her way. "So I got you a giant box of junk food from this good vendor down the way, as a get better soon gift. Or quicker, it's food, sort of, I think? They never really said, but it's good!" He gets a big smile, one hell of a way to say hello she guesses.

"Any food is better than what the docs have given me here. I am eating whatever they make in the mess that can be crushed into paste and fed to me. So i hope whatever you bought is dripping with grease and full of protein." Russ attempts a weak smile but it quickly turns into a grimace, apparently any small movement is enough to aggravate his injuries. He struggles to sit up further so he can properly get at the food as his eyes wander over Oriana "You look like you have been through the grinder as well. So what is the news of the galaxy? What has been happening while i have been recuperating here and running this operation."

"You're in luck!" Oriana exclaims softly, "That's exactly what it is. Grease and meat, a mans best friend!" The box would be handed over, it's full of the best junk money can buy. So it better be real food, it should be, is, anyway. Sighing softly as Russ goes to move there is a worried frown."Oh, sweetie be careful you're healing. Did they at least get you a hover chair? Those are awesome to help you move about." Looking down to herself and shrugging eyes move back up. "Well, things got.. crazy, back on base. I got seriously wounded once, then we had to go again, and before I could fully recovery hurt once more. I'll be fine, of course, sick of bacta tanks but fine." Eyes pass over his IV, and then move back to him. "As for what's new, well, I have some news for you. But if you are needing rest, it can wait a few days."

"Hey back," Narsai smiles Oriana's way as she moves to take a seat for herself listening to the exchange between the pair and then scratching at the back of her head. Her helmet is placed down beside her and she lounges out a little, a few soft pops of tired muscles and joint suggesting she'd been working on the repairs pretty much non-stop after the battle.

"Don't worry about me i'll be fine, some fluids and some food and then another dip in the bacta and i'll be good as new." Russ chuckles slightly with another tight grimace as he starts to dig into the precious greasy fast food. "Please tell me the news, this forced inactivity is killing me. There is so much to do and so much to plan and i can get none of it done while my forces are spread across the galaxy and i am confined to bedrest." Russ looks up expecantly "So what is the news? Another catastrophe somewhere i take it?"

Oriana should sit, but doesn't. Arms cross casually and fingers drum on her arms in a thoughtful way. 'I felt like that to when I was recovering from that accident in the spaceport, you can't do anything it's madness. I'll never be told what to not worry over." She says to him, but also passes a glance to Narsai when that's said and gives her a quick smile and then inhales and scratches the tip of her nose to regard them with the news she brings. "Not so much that as much as, well, the Resistance, I mean everyone, was told of our plans. Before I left we had a faction wide gathering and it was announced. Most took to it well, an admiral and general were supportive, which is good. However, there was a few hitches. Some members fired back at the idea if you and yours joining in with us on this fight. They pressed the topic of your past, claiming in many ways you're no better than the First Order, that you would seek to conquer my world rather than share it in peace."

A wince to Narsai's lips and she exhales quietly. "Ah...horror stories of thousands of years ago ringing in their ears I guess..." she murmers at Russ before shrugging her shoulders and looking back at Oriana. "When the crusades were made back then the galaxy was a very different place. No Empire, no First Order, none of it. Jedi and Sith were in the thousands...if everything else has changed so much since then, is it truely resonable to think that we haven't changed too?" Sighing a little the younger Ordo looks to Russ. "A pity they didn't know of our battle here to stop the new crusade before it began."

When Russ speaks following his sister his voice is dry "Oh i didn't realise there were so many scholars in the resistance with a speciality in a thousands of years old war. Or even experts in the clone wars, in which Mandalorian commandos played a small part. In fact many of us were responsible in training of the clones the Republic used to fight its war. The confederecy had some incredibly valid points that the Republic refused to acknowledge, true in the end the Confederecy ended up being controlled by extremists who pushed their own agenda over that of the member states. But can not the same thing be said for the Republic of the time? After all from it's ashes rose the Galactic Empire, it did not come from the Confederacy." Russ shakes his head slightly as his outburst settles "But that is besides the point, it is only the Generals and Admirals that need to agree with the plan and see the logic. If some of the soldiers refuse to acknowledge it and follow orders subject them to a court martial. Besides Mandalorians have no love lost for the Empire and it has been many thousands of years since we embarked on a war of conquest where atrocities were commited. A war that i know if i tried to continue now even if I wanted to would lead to the extinction of my people."

Rax wanders into the room, wearing a tight black t-shirt, some gray boxers with 'Ultimate Teras Kasi Masters' and a datapad. Pausing in mid step as he notices the deep meeting taking place, Rax's leg sloooooowly reverses itself and he starts to walk backwards, wide-eyed, from the room. Whoops.

“Let's meet with them," Narsai says with a shrug before looking at Russ. "It's all well and good if they're stuck in the past and fear to think we're going to betray them. But that works both ways. We want to help them, but if we've all got our eyes on each other waiting for some double-cross we're not going to be able to keep them on the First Order..." trailing off the redhead sighs. "I guess they're missing the obvious. If we were going to betray them we could have done it already. I'm sure the First Order -would- have paid us if we wanted to approach them and we haven't. You think that would mean something."

"I'll get in contact with Amber then, and set everything up. It wasn't a large number of people that seemed to ruffle feathers over this, so that's promising. And I am going to sit down and talk to one of them myself, I think over a few drinks, and see where their feelings lie. Hopefully we can get this setup in the next week or two. We've also got further work for you all, missions that we could use some help in, to further prove you all are not what they think you are." Shrugging some, giving Nasrsai a smile Oriana looks to Russ. "And you, I'll go set up a order so for the next few days they deliver you that grease filled protein goodness you seem to be loving. And get some rest, else -I- will kick your ass, mind you if you're anything like your sister, easy target." She winks to the redhead and smirks, going to turn away. "I'll come around later and visit, let you both rest up and myself. And go get those messages sent off. I'll -" That's when she spots Rax and lifts a brow. "Hey now, you can't sneak off you're to big for that mister." She calls out to them.

"It'll be an experience at last," Narsai says with a shrug. "If they meet us and still think we're blood-crazed psychopaths that want to conquer the galaxy...well it's going to be some tense operations." Comments about her backside makes her bark a little laugh as she stands and reaches for her helmet before looking up and spotting Rax. "Y'know, just because you're not wearing Beskar'gem on a ship crewed by Mandalorians doesn't mean you should run around in your underwear." Giving Russ another nod she pats the man on the shoulder. "Heal well brother, I'll try and leave something left on the moon for you to do."

Rax just grumbles, "Hey, gotta cultivate that mythos of the Armorless Mandalorian." Smirking a bit, Rax shrugs since he's been caught and just wanders on in. "Besides, I'm shameless. What do I care if a reporter sees my Teras Kasi shorts?" Giving Ori a very light hug, he nods aside. "Hey, wanna go get a nerf burger? I can -feel- the heavy gravitas of whatever was being discussed in here."

"Try not to fret," Oriana reassures Narsai. "I don't think anyone really thinks it to such an evil extent, I bet more that they are unsure, and have much to learn. Let's try to keep positive, I'm doing all I can to make this work for everyone, and I hope that by myself and Amber, and our leaders showing trust, that the others will fall in line." Giving her a smile and looking to Rax the light hug is returned, with a chuckle. "You -are- shameless, yes." There is a smirk too. "I could eat, body still needs fuel and I need to setup some daily delivers for Russ anyway, so he can get wholesome healing food." Because grease is just that! "I'll come visit soon, you two," She says to them. "And feel better fast!"
