Meeting Lord BlueIce

OOC Date: April 29, 2019 (Optional)
Location: Tridek System, Blue 21
Participants: Zandra naMuriel, Rey, Syrus

The Tridek System. A lonely system surrounded by nothing but space, all three planets have been ravaged for their materials, a humongous space station almost the only thing left orbiting the sun. At least the only inhabitable something, but it's crowded yet. The station is large and is the only place for the miners and other life in the area to socialize. As such, it's lit up and visible from the jump in points. Flashy metal sparkles in places, but that doesn't distract from the shadows, areas where the light systems have either failed or never been there. This station was once a refining station, now relegated to a refueling point, known for two things - Wicked pod racing and Lady Redfire's Cantina.

There is space at the Tridek refueling station for all. The landing pods are small and cramped, old fashioned even, but they work, and they continue to work, even now, with minimum maintenance. Our heroes have landed and made contact with Lady Redfire, seen in person the impact that the pod racing has on her establishment. When they left, they knew that they had about a day before the next race. Just one day, before more innocents could be harmed by the incoming oomph of the race.

Half that day is gone, the group pausing to look around, explore and - to find where this Lord BlueIce might be. This is not the command you're looking for. (Try "help" or "+help" for help.)

[PASS ( +42)] Zandra naMuriel's Gather Information @ (100) diff. [PASS ( +76)] Rey's Gather Information @ (100) diff.

Yuun and Aryn had split off to widen their search radius and to try to find others who might have information that would help them in this instance.

Rey, in her street garb, with hood up and mask over her nose and mouth is doing much the same though she doesn't feel entirely confident in her ability to get information out of the people in this general area. Lack of experience and the fact taht she's hiding her face, these things generally don't help in areas like this where people are generally on-edge as is anyway.

Credits though, credits help... and though Rey doesn't like to flash a lot of them around, she will make small bargains for them if able... and credits make the galaxy go 'round as they say.

Partnered up with Rey and Zandra, Syrus wanders along with them, hands firmly clenched around the strap of his satchel. Dark eyes survey the interior of the station and a smile creeps to his face.

An academic at heart, the big Kiffar never gives up a chance to get out into the field and see what there is to be seen. But, he will assume the roll of the big, mean-looking guy in the negotiations that Rey has involved herself in, streetside.

Zan is a bit away from Rey, not too far, but far enough that she's talking to different folks, trying to come up with answers. She too exchanges some credits, and then flashes a big smile at the alien she was speaking to, before making her way back over to Rey to say, "Apparently Lord BlueIce does some sort of sit down meeting in his territory every day about an hour from now. But - I don't know where that is." She frowns. "Well, That guy I was just talking to - says he's one of Lady BlackMetal's, and that he can't stop long or his pay will get docked."

When Zandra approaches, Rey is turning to face she and Syrus. She raises her right half-gloved hand up to adjust the light blue padded hood that is covering her head. She nods her head once to Zandra. "Thats great." She says to her before her hand then moves forward to indicate one of the bulkheads. "Those lines there." Rey says. "They're our guiding beacon on how to find this person's location. See?" The lines seem to be a map of sorts, or at least a directional indicator.

"The sections are colored in a play with their names. So we need to find the blue section." Rey then starts to walk, passing between Zan and Syrus as she moves through the crowds and starts to merge with them, motioning to her comrades to come with.

"Apparently Red and Blue are both entertainment districts." She further elaborates, but they're warring with one another, so to speak. Feuding, I guess, is a better way to put. If we can stop the feud... well, then we'll have gained a fair amount of sway in what is probably the most profitable part of this establishment." Which Rey THINKS is what Leia intended them to accomplish here, allies... get more allies.

"Perhaps Mr. BlueIce is only so upset because he's got a /very/ silly name," Syrus muses, falling in step behind Rey. He smirks a little and asks, "Do we know what they're feuding over? Territory? Or something more personal?"

Zan shrugs, as she's not at all sure of that. "Maybe so," she agrees to the comment about the name. "And I haven't a clue." A glance at Rey who managed so far to do better than she did, when it came to information. Must have been cause of her security there. She pauses though, and says, "Wait - Blueice, Redfire, BlackMetal? Good grief."

The bulkheads have various colours - lines of them, and as the trio comes to crossways and exits, the lines hair off in various directions. Following the blue line takes one through a small market, down a side corridor lined with shops, and then the blue line seems to come to a stop. Which is a bit perplexing at first.

[PASS ( +53)] Zandra naMuriel's Spot @ (100) diff. [FAIL ( -4)] Syrus Volo's Spot @ (100) diff. [PASS ( +88)] Rey's Spot @ (100) diff.

Benaeth her mask, Rey smirks to Syrus' words. "I'm going by 'Blue' so I'm not doing much better, wouldn't you say?" She responds to him before her brown eyed stare sweeps over to Zandra. "I get the sense that the leadership positions in this place likely do not last very long. Perhaps they're very profitable, but also... deadly? Especially if feuding so violently is openly accepted by all sections of this place. Seems that might make the callsigns make a little more sense? Maybe?" She doesn't know, its just her guess behind it all.

As they pass through the marketplace, Rey's uncovered eyes scan over the stalls and their wares, as well as the people milling about. She glances back to Syrus and Zandra and then motions further to their directions on the walls.

Once they arrive at a pair of different optional pathways, Rey pauses. "These both should take us there." She says then, glancing back to them. "A lift and a set of stairs, but it looks like the stairs are for employees..."

Her eyes look to the group of people sitting between the two optional pathways, she notes that they seem to have seen better days.

"Seems like the guest lift is most appropriate, yeah?"

"Well, I didn't want to embarass you," Syrus offers with a smirk back at Rey. "Places like this breed a cut-throat kind of business, so it would make sense to me," Syrus says. "If this is just a business feud, I'm sure we could handle it relatively easily. If it runs hotter than that, we may find ourselves in a bind."

"And yes, the elevator seems like the way to go."

Zan heads towards the lift, pausing to nod to the three guys, but the door opens before she says anything. Or they do. The elevator's other side is clear glass, opening up on the blue sector, as the lift drops down to the center of the station, more or less. It's possible to see a grouping of buildings over to one side, with some swoop racer vehicles parked along side. There are a few people waiting for the lift, heading back out, it seems. The lighting here is bright, almost like regular daylight on a number of planets. Gravity is also such that it is not hard to move, but people don't float off. On the other hand, there's a clear dome with low grav folks playing some sort of game. A second dome has some games involving balls. A Bright Orange hover vehicle comes zooming through, at highspeed, a siren blazing - they can see it and hear it once the lift doors open. "Make way, medical coming through!" is the unreasonably cheery comment from that carrier. It zooms past the buildings to where things seem a little rougher, with a construction sign up.

Rey steps out of the way of the people disembarking the lift, but she doesn't glance to the ones seated beside the lift's doors. She's doing her best not to make un necessary eye contact, considering the still standing bounty thats on her head, its made her life in the galaxy at-large a lot more difficult... which she full well believes was Kylo's intention of it to begin with. She chose not to go with him, so he'd make sure she suffered for that in whatever way possible...

Once aboard the lift, Rey glances back to her friends, then she can't help but have her eyes drawn to the glass window that overlooks the entertainment district. Some part of her... "I hate to say it, but some of this actually looks appealing." She pauses then and looks back to them. "Should I hate to say that? I'm not... sure." She says. But the medical arrival makes her step aside and get away from impeding their motions. Its a hectic place, but she kind of likes that, admittedly.

"I don't think so. I've been thinking this whole time about how I'd like to spend a weekend here under different circumstances," Syrus says, looking out the window. "I'm no good at pazaak, but I'd like to take in a show or two," the Kiffar admits with a chuckle. Zan's eyes widen as she looks out, and she shakes her head. "I kind of like this area better than the club," she says softly. "So I don't think you should hate to say that." Sirus gets a grin, and then Zan blinks. "Oh, look. Sector 21. I think that's where Lady Redfire told us to go." It's over by the buildings, honestly, which is not a surprise. "Should we go see?"

Rey agrees with a little nod inside of her hood. "I've never seen games like these before. They look fun." She says that with a tone that would suggest she's surprised to find this out. "But yes, maybe another time." She glances to Zandra then and then to where she indicates. "Fantastic. Someone should comm the others and let them know where we are, they'll likely meet us here, but we shouldn't linger."

Stepping onward then, Rey adjusts the black bag that hangs from her body against her left hip, the hooded cloak she has on shifts around a bit on her as her booted feet carry her onward to the buildings. "I do wish we had more information going into this, so we could have more suggestions on how to resolve it before hand... but we're smart, yeah?" She asks, both of her companions then.

"Maybe it will be as simple as asking them what we can do to resolve the matter at hand," Syrus says, knowing full-well that that likely will not be the case. He walks along with the group, ready to engage in a rowdy round of fisticuffs, should the need arise.

"What are the chances that we have to fight our way out of a gang-controlled entertainment district? I say they're much too high for my comfort."

Zan grins at Rey, though she shrugs a bit. "Sometimes," she says wryly. And then there's Syrus. "Aren't you just a ball of sunshine?" Zan asks, bemusedly. They reach a door, and as she reaches to open it, it slides open on it's own. "Medical evac," comes the words, and there's that orange vehicle, with a person on a stretcher, heading out - somewhere. Zan ducks, just in time to avoid the thing smacking her in the head, as its driver did not wait long for the path to clear.

"I would say that as long as we don't give away our origins that we'll be fi--" Rey is hit in the head by the medvac speeder, it only clips her and her hood protects her from any damage, but it makes her stop her words and reach up then to feel the back of her head inside of her hood. "Ow." She says anyway, even though it was just a simple good 'thunk' to her dome and little else... giving her flashbacks of a lightsaber hitting her in the back of her head once upon a time as well.

"I take it back about this place, I'm never coming back." She replies, mostly just joking around though, she should've been paying more attention. "Or maybe just... wear a helmet next time, I guess."

Dipping beneath the incoming stretcher, Syrus looks at the other two, sparing a half-chuckle at Rey's predicament upon discovering that she's no worse for wear. Regaining his composure, the Kiffar turns his attention back to their path forward.

Once the medevac is gone, there's an open door, easy to walk through. Which Zan does. She pauses as she spies a somewhat green looking fellow over to one side. Not green because of species, but because of losing the contents of his stomach.

He looks at the arriving trio and wipes his mouth before he says, "Do yourselves a favor and leave now. It's not worth it. It's really not. My wife works in Medical, I'm going to see if they have a spot for me too. Anything has to be better than this!" That said with conviction, he heads out, waving at the medevac unit, which totally ignores him. "Hey, wait for me!" he calls as he runs after it.

Zan stops, looks at Rey and Syrus, then over at the departing guy with confusion obvious on her face.

Rey just gives Syrus a light glare at his chuckle to her being bonked on the head, but otherwise moves on from that! She too steps out of the way of the man who does his best to warn them off of where they're headed and she too looks to the others with her before she shakes her head inside of her hood. "We've not really a choice, he doesn't really understand our position here either." She's either trying to convince them of that, or herself, who knows really!

Either way, she turns and prepares to move onward through the open doorway. Her hands flex at her sides, her fingers curl and relax again as she's trying to keep her senses alert and the Force as her ally to keep them all safe here on this mission.

"Seems like spirits are...low," Syrus offers in response to the man. "As is often the case with places like this. Strip away the veneer and...well, you're left with people who are hurting," Syrus muses, hrmming softly to himself after a moment. Seems like they're all in the same boat, confused and speculating. At least to Zan. She nods to Syrus, thoughtful, and then she looks to Rey. "Are you okay?" she asks, belatedly, as she starts walking again.

They are in a big control hub, with a few control stations to the left and to the right. Through the middle there's a large pathway that they can walk down. At the far end, there's a big blast door, closed. Just this side of it, there's a group of sentients, along with one fellow in a hover chair. He's dressed all in blue with white hair. A cold looking but well built individual who seems to be quite confidently in charge.

Rey gives a glance over to Syrus, his wisdom seemed solid as usual, his input was one she valued quite a lot in fact. Zandra's words to her make her look back to the other and though her lips are covered she still smiles faintly. "Just a damaged ego." She replies, about the head bonkening part.

Rey's stare then takes in their surroundings as they progress further. She stares at the man in the hover chair, dressed all in blue with that striking hair. "I think we've found him." She mutters to her friends. With glances to both of them, Rey steps in this man's direction and she raises a hand in greeting to him, and to garner his attention.

Hands tightening around the strap of his bag once more, the Kiffar makes note of the cold looking man who seems fit to carry the name BlueIce. A dip of his head to the man, Syrus will wait for someone else to take the lead on this one. He's here for moral support.

Zan moves along with the others, letting Rey take the lead for the moment.

As the group approaches, the blue dressed fellow looks up. His eyes are a very pale blue, and he promptly moves his hover chair over closer. "Who are you? Are you the new staff? We have been asking for more for quite some time, but nobody is offering any shifts any more, with all the injuries. I don't like resorting to off-station, but you look like you might do well at it. I am Lord BlueIce. What are your specialties?"

The group behind him goes quiet, as they turn to look at the new incoming help, or so they appear to think. Relief actually shows on several faces, and one blurts out, "OH thank the stars, maybe we can be rid of - " He's swatted and shushed before he says anything more.

Lord BlueIce doesn't appear to hear, but he does gesture towards a side room. "Come with me, and tell me what brings you here today."
