Kora - Dragon Blooded

OOC Date: April 24, 2021 (Optional)
Location: Tatooine
Participants: Sumi Kora, Terek Rosol and Hadrix Kora, Clan Kora

In the aftermath of the dragon, and some time spent on educating herself on /what/ they had just killed, Sumi seemed to be experiencing the kind of high one got from an extremely traumatic, yet satisfying, experience. She stood near the open maw of its large mouth, helmet clipped to her belt, and in the process of enjoying a well earned smoke. Sumi stood apart from the denizens of Mos Espa, observing, and perhaps enjoying, the sight of such a large kill going to such productive use.

Having taken his helmet off, Terek is holding it under his left arm as he wanders up towards Sumi, his tail twitching a little as he looks over the carnage they unleashed from the dragon, "At least the folks around here know what to do with it, and it won't just rot in the sun."

Hadrix had his sword bindered to his left leg along with a med-pak spray splint, battle ax used as a crutch and his helmet on his belt. The chest and head armor looking fairly untouched while his arm guards and cuisse are broken, cracked, and being used to support his wounds. Most of his face is shades of bruised and swelling being combatted by bacta spray and Gripper has her claws hooked into his armor cowling and is using her grav thrusters to help his balance.

"I missed the show. Heard most of it though." grumbling and fumbling with a cigarra, popping a match on a thumbnail to light it as he approaches. "Sumi... I think it's about time." brow raised, voice more a wheezing rasp than his normal gravel and ice grinding together.

"I saved a few slabs for us to take home. I have never had dragon before; I imagine it must be pretty gamey." In taste, that is. Sumi seems amused, and turns to regard Terek, then Hadrix. Hadrix's statement carried some weight to it and prompted Sumi to nod. "I can think of no occasion better than the present."

Her regard goes back to Terek then, and adjusts as she walks around him so that the destruction of the dragon dominates the space behind Terek from her perspective (from where she stood in relation to him.)

"Terek, you have been with the clan for a long time. A /long/ time. Your patience and loyalty likely tested the entire way; but something worth earning takes time; and you Terek Rosol, have done the time."

As Sumi walks away, Terek turns around so he can look at both her and Hadrix. He frowns, faintly, at how messed up Hadrix looks..But he also knows how tough the warrior is, so he's sure Hadrix has endured worse.

For the moment, Terek doesn't say anything. This is ceremony, after all. And it pays to respect the traditions. Though this does remind him of his return from his first hunt in the wilds outside of his city-tree.

Though arguably this fight went a lot better.

Limping to stand so that he is to the side but also between Sumi and Terek - a periphery figure in battered form, Hadrix puts a massive hand on Terek's shoulder.

"I remember riding back from... I want to say the first forays into Dxun with you in the co-pilot seat. Tough, smart, fast. Creative." staring at the Cathar. Left eye nearly swollen shut and so relegated to the bionic. Tough yes. The man got hit by a transport freighter today - somehow alive. The man is lucky as hell, let's be honest.

"You've done a lot, and quietly, for Kora. I and Sumi agree that since I first marked you as blood to be... up to know. You deserve more than that standing. Mando'karla, Ter'ika."

"The clan have provided their votes. Unanimous. I reserve my vote until you have made your decision; and that moment is now. For more than a year now, you have wanted to be a part of Kora, to be our kin, our blood. Now, that choice is yours. I offer you the same opportunity I offer everyone, a chance to speak your heart and tell us this is what you want."

Sumi shifts, hooking her hands to her belt and standing as casually as a soldier. "For us, words carry meaning, and what you say past this point, is for life." Sumi punctuated the last bit with a moment of silence before nodding her head toward Terek as if to signify the floor was his.

It has been over a year since Hadrix helped Terek out after his rather ill advised attempt at the fight in the Wheel. Still, not many wet behind the ears hunters try to take out one of the best gunslingers in the galaxy.

The cathar listened carefully to both of their words. Unanimous that they would allow him into the clan. That made him smile, if only just. He knew he had worked hard to earn his keep, but they were giving the decision to him.

"It would be the greatest honor to join the clan, to join with tal." He does pause for a moment, however, "I, however, would have one request...Cathar clan names are key to our identities. I would like to keep mine."

He hopes that request can be honored. Being Kora is important to him, but so is remembering where he came from.

Aided by Gripper and then Gofor, a long rod of iron is brought out and put into Hadrix's free hand while the BB unit's plasma torch is ignited and held to be as a brazier to begin heating the hand holding flame sigil on the end of it. A half-grin forming, somehow, in the wreck of his features.

"Zelo requested the same, Terek. For similar reasons. Called Terek Rosol or Terek Kora or even some mixture, Rosol Kora, Kora Rosol... doesn't invalidate or otherwise. You're family. You name yourself as you would." looking to the brand, "Some of us who took the name did so because it meant we could have somewhere to be from. Some to remove what they didn't wish to keep." lifting the brand to inspect it before dipping it back down into the flame provided by Gofor.

"What is important, Terek Rosol if you are to be of Clan Kora, always remember; No matter the field of battle, the time, the clime or place. You will find us, your family, beside you." looking to Sumi following her lead from that point as he begins the words.

Sumi nods, validating what Hadrix said without saying it. Terek Rosol of Clan Kora! Oya! When Hadrix began the creed, Sumi raised an expectant hand to take the brand now orange hot with fire. "No battle will claim you absent us. Where you fall, we will be there to pick you back up. We do not die alone."

When she had the brand ready to press against the Cathar's armor, her brow perked in question as if to ask, without voicing it, where he wanted the brand pressed. When indicated, the brand was placed there, burning the sigil of Clan Kora in place (at no harm to Terek) and pulled away just when the stench of melting metal became prevalent.

"Your mark is given birth today," She says before swiping the fresh mark with dragon blood smeared from her hand, "..and it is sustained by the blood of the dragon, our victory."

"Welcome home, brother."

Terek presents his right shoulder for the brand, holding still as it is burned into the armor. Since he's rarely ever without his Starscout, it should be easy enough to identify him as a member of the clan. The addition of the blood smear gets Terek to grin, a lot wider this time, "I'm not going to wash that off."

He does bow his head when Sumi says welcome, however, "I am honored, again, to join you officially." He does take a moment to look over at Hadrix, "Especially to you Hadrix. You saw something in me that perhaps I didn't even see in myself."

"We're honored, Terek. Because you showed there was someone worthwhile that wanted to join with us." tight smiled, head tilting as a single use sharp is jammed into his neck by one of Gripper's clawed 'feet' and a flutter comes to his eyelids as the bacta does its work, some of the bruising and swelling fading near imperceptibly.

Hadrix shifts to rest his weight on his right leg and re-hang the arm on the same side into the mag-lock hangars serving as a sling. "I think we should've asked you earlier. So I hope you'll forgive that we tarried, eh?" organic eye closing and red glowing bionic remaining fixed on the Battle Cathar.
