Legends: Prisoner transfer Rescue

Location: Legends Warfront
Participants: Eosys, Darth Revan, Halys, (GM) Meetra Surik

The hard deal of being a prisoner of war! Eosys had been captive for quite a while, contained primarily within the near unassailable Republic camp where he had been questioned. It wasn't quite the agonizing torture one might expect should they be captured by the Sith, but after collaboration that had led to some real intelligence and many days of discussion and training towards turning away from the Sith teachings, the decision had been made by Republic command for the Acolyte to be transfered off-world and to a more secure location. With the force-cage still running hot, the transport raced towards a hidden clearing used as an impromptu landing site for the transport intended for the secret relocation.

Everyone knows that moving a prisoner is the most likely time they are to be rescued, or at least that a rescue attempt will be made. That is no different for Eosys. Revan's intelligence agents had located him, but were having difficulty figuring out how exactly to set him free. Fortunately, the Jedi were moving him. For some reason. So, Revan took a handful of chosen subordinates to the planet under the cover of some serious secrecy. Once there, they made their way towards the base in order to intercept the transports carrying Eosys. It was going to be an exciting day.

Halys speaks quietly as they get in position for their ambush of the transport. "Who exactly is Eosys, my Lord?" The blue skined Twi'lek's robes are open in the front and throw back, acting more like a cloak. "I must admit, I was never one to 'do' without knowledge so I apologize in advance if I am over stepping."

There is little room to move around in the force-cage perpetually humming around the mammoth form of the simple-robed Abyssin, who has his hood drawn over his head and veiling his cycloptic gaze in shadow, though the light could easily show a full mouth of many rows of razor-sharp teeth. Slightly haunched and standing at nearly two meters in height, the titanic male isn't calm as he had been throughout most of his tenure as a prisoner, but restless. Moving. He did not like moving, he did not like the Jedi altering their conditions. Sinseia had since not seen him in many days and nights, and he found his only companionship or even excitement in day to day not in the continued teachings that they lace in all of their discussions, but when he is able to exercise, to 'spar' Meetra Surik. "Where going?" He growls to the nearest Republic soldier, his voice a thunderous thing that resonates from the his barrel-like chest.

The soldiers themselves were fewer in number, but well armored and armed to make up for it. A relocation team like this was likely a unit dispatched from special forces. Eosys wasn't exactly a top person of interest, especially after he'd already given intel that had been actioned upon, but he was a big enough security concern to warrant such forces on-site. The Abyssin's question is met with a glance before the soldier gives a scoff. "Another hole. Less trees, more towers. Stay quiet." Not much sympathy to be found among soldiers who'd been fighting Sith for a while now for the big cyclops.

Even for Revan, a direct assault on the main Republic camp would be suicidal insanity that the Sith Lord would hardly be the sort to throw themself at. But a single transport headed for a freighter in a hidden clearing? That was much more perfect. The soldiers were on alert, but it was unlikely they truely expected to be discovered.

When the transport comes to a stop, Eosys would find his cage being moved by a hoversled towards the loading ramp of an otherwise seemingly unremarkable freighter. A freighter surrounded by several Republic soldiers in heavy armor. "One of your peers." Revan replies. "A large abyssin with rather prolific lightsaber talents for his degree of training." Revan turns her gaze upon Halys for the time being. "We have to take care of our people, even those that are captured. Perhaps, even more-so for them." Apparently, it was not so much about the security risk as it was to rescue an ally who had chosen to follow her. So, she'd make her way to the ideal interception point chosen by her intel agents and set up. "Prepare here. We will ambush them."

The answer from the scoffing soldier causes the monstrous Sith Acolyte to rumble from deep in his throat and through a closed maw of crooked, jagged teeth. "Not like hole," it was thunderous protest that bordered a warning from the ill-tempered beast, who knew, in this cage, he could not do anything about it. Halys pulls her robes around her to better hide her movements, best not to shine like a blue and metal rabbit hopping it's way into the jaws of the enemy. Once the cell holding the big Sith Acolyte starts to be moved she nods to Revan and then circles around to the far side of the clearing to make a pincer attack when her leader moves in.

So far, so good! At least as far as the troopers know, they're yet to be discovered. Soon the ship would be loaded and the prisoner off to the stars, then they could get off this mudball for some leave. Scanning the treeline, they don't make out the pair of Sith who lurk among the trees and prepare to make their attack, but it seems they are intent to work fast. The window before Eosys is simply loaded up is going to close quick!

Revan waits patiently, but eventually turns to Halys. "Prepare yourself. Only spare those who surrender." Revan then pulls the shadows of the night around herself with the force, blending into the night so well she is nearly invisible before rushing at the transport. She'd be a lot more dangerous up close than far away and would be a menace for them if Halys got spotted first. As Revan closes in, she plucks a lightsaber from her belt and prepares to activate it.

Halys depresses the button on her cylindrical lightsaber and with an electric snap-hiss a crimson red energy beam springs forth!

Halys activates the lightsaber that Revan gave her, a bright spot in the night, and charges toward the Captain. Instead of closing into melee range, however, she attacks him with Force Lightning. The blue skined young woman's robes open as she runs in, the lightning arcing out from her fingers to strike the captain and leave smoke coming from his armor. As the sergeants open fire on her she defects their attacks with her lightsaber.

And like that, the illusion of quiet and secrecy in the clearing is shattered. As the lightsaber activates and the lightning flies, one of the troopers is hit hard, his armor crackling and sparking as he only barely manages to stay on his feet. Impressive given he can feel his own insides burning.

"CONTACT!" one of the troopers scream and the soldiers spring to action, two of them immediately opening fire on Halys with their carbines while two more race to take up repelling positions.

Darth Revan depresses the button on her cylindrical lightsaber and with an electric snap-hiss Revan appears pretty much out of thin air, manifesting from the darkness like some sort of demon as her red lightsaber lights her up. "Surrender, now!" She swings at one of them who dodges on virtue of being startled enough to fall, but Revan capitulates on it and slashes him, inflicting a very fatal wound. "And the rest might live."

The Abyssin's eye widens within the force-cage, beneath the fold of his hood on the robe. "Can't fight here! Let out!" Violence was happening all around him -the Abyssin's hood falls back, revealing his cycloptic, yellow-iris'd eye and bald head as he roars. Fighting, battle, he craves it. He needs it. Is addicted to it.

One of the soldiers fall, cut down by the crimson glow of Revan's blade, but the two other troopers nearest don't falter. Intead they raise their weapons, prisoner forgotten in favor of the greater threat. "For the Republic!" one of the men shout as their blasters roar to life, spewing bolts at the Darth who seems uneffected even as she's hit in the chest.

Spotting some people running toward the ship Halys shakes her head, "Seems they don't want to live," she calls out as she reaches out with the Force to 'shove' the Captain she wounded with force lightning toward to two running toward the ship.

Halys launches the Captain with the force, sending him flying into the runners and the whole group to the ground. Unfortunatly, for the Captain, the fall likely breaks something important. However, while the Twi'lek is distracted by her success she is grazed with a blaster shot and looks offended by it!

Shooting Revan proves to be ineffective, as her lightsaber darts between the plasma shots and bats them harmlessly aside. Though, one does get through, only to be dissipated on her armor. "You had your choice." She reaches out with the force and yanks one of them towards her and slices out with her lightsaber, rending him in two before turning her attention on the remaining guards.

Things were...not going well. Giving a whince at the death of yet another of his fellows, the captain remains defiant, firing his blaster till the barrel is near melting with suprising accuracy. "Fall back!" He calls to the few survivors remaining. Sure enough, the ship intended to take Eosys begins to fire up its engines, intending to take off without its prize!

Eosys is restless, roaring and snarling like a crazed beast within that forced cage. He needed to be a part of this violence, of this fighting. To test himself, the whole focus of his entire life comes rushing back to him, quicker than the Jedi teachings or even the Sith code. To be unparalleled.

Halys get's a running start, reaches with the Force to give her extra lift, and tries to jump over the retreating Republic commandos and onto the ramp of the ship. "Surrender, retreat is not an option." She falls short.

With the retreating officer no longer a direct threat, Revan turns to Eosys's cage and works to deactivate it. She has familiarized herself with a number of such cages over the course of the wars and so deactivating it proves no difficulty. Eosys would be free. "Halys! We're leaving."

It was one last shot, really only a 'screw you', but the Captain turns as he reaches the treeline, firing a single bolt back at the distracted Sith Lord. It hits, lancing into her back...but the soldier isn't hanging around to see if she went down. Instead the man disappears into the forest, fleeing the fight.

Nearby, the freighter rises into the air and hovers, seeming to consider turning its guns on the pair before its heading adjusts and it takes to the sky...

...Leaving behind one last retreating Sergeant who'd split in the other direction.

Eosys leaps from his spot in the now deactivated cage, his roar tearing through the forest, in frustration, bloodlust, and anger at missing all of the violence. All of the fighting. It takes some long moments for him to come down from his furious high before he comes to realize who, exactly, he is in the presence of. Even though she hisses in blatant discomfort at being shot, the wound closes up despite it. "Mmm... that sings." She turns her attention to Eosys. "You're free. Let's keep it that way. Transport is waiting for us." She nods her head in the direction of the forest where Halys is already retreating to. "Let's go." She tosses him a spare lightsaber, just in case.
