MandalMotors Arc: Part 2

OOC Date: Early Feb 2016
Location: Pirate Base
Participants: Russ Ordo, Narsai Ordo, Laika, Kitfox, Emriel Keldua, Jaiely Wren

Russ waits on the bridge of the Malachor for the party to arrive, they are currently deep in space following their succesful skirmish with the pirates that ended in the destruction of a CR90a and the capture of one of the pirate captains. Russ stands behind a holo projection, a large moon on display. Finally as the others arrive he moves around the holotable so that the others can see him clearly. "The pirate captain that myself and Laika managed to capture following their assault on the MandalMotors transport has been most forthcoming." Russ's face is stern as blood slowly drips from one of his gauntlets, perhaps showing why the pirate was so forthcoming."

Russ turns towards the map and touches part of the holographic display "There is a pirate base here, apparently some kind of prison facility. It holds the MandalMotors employees the pirates have managed to capture so far. As well as various other prisoners." Russ shakes his head slightly "It is not poorly defended. It has a shield to block orbital bombardment, multiple AA positions and a multitude of ground defences with the potential to make a full scale ground assault extremely costly." Wisp showed up on time, and after Russ takes a moment to brief them on the upcoming situation, she perks up a little bit. "So, it sounds like we need a small team to open up some vulnerabilities. Pretty sure this is the sort of thing I am good for." She smirks a little bit. "Take down the AA batteries or the shield and we should be able to launch an assault much easier. Do they have any reason to suspect us coming in?"

"If they got a call off when we intercepted their raid? They'll throw everything they've got at us. We hit them pretty hard on the boarding craft, took their leader right out from under them..." Narsai trails off with a shrug. "Sounds like the best bet would be a drop, small hard to detect ship. A fighter or two, or the Thunderheart could run the defences without being seen...or faster if they do get scene. We send a team to take down the sheild and another to rescue the prisoners." It's a suggestion, but the mechanic shrugs and waits to see if others have an alternative

Kit seemed to have missed the last sortie, but she's here this time. Unarmored, looking more like a civilian than a trooper. If not for the massive blaster rifle she's leaning on. She has a small frown on her lips, taking in the data, and for those that know her, she's taking it in deeply. The suggestions and other intel make her cant her head this way and that, as she considers the variables. "Infiltration and shield disabling could be useful. Orbital bombartment on call, so long as we're sure not to cause collateral to the prisoners, yes?"

Russ nods to Narsai "They may well be expecting us. After all by now they will have noticed that one of their splinter 'fleets' has gone dark. I imagine that the ship we destroyed was one of their larger vessels as well, they will notice it is missing." He shakes his head slightly "However they are pirates, they lack discipline and no one can expect an attack at all times. A day goes by and they will slowly start to lose attentiveness. We don't have time to wait for weeks for them to be completely unguarded, but that does not mean we don't have time on our side."

Russ turns again and enlarges a section of the map, clearly showing a knife like canyon running up alongside the supposed position of the pirate base. "It is to small for The Thunderheart. But if we take one of the Gauntlet class fighters, we may be able to use this canyon to get us through their shield and close to their perimeter without detection. From there we do what we do. We disable everything possible before the assault. We will use the cover of darkness and attack during the early morning, when their sentries will be most likely to be asleep on the job." "Well, depending how high up the chain the leader we captured was, there may actually be a little turmoil there as they try to replace them." Wisp posits. "That is never a pretty time." She ponders a moment. "So, insertion by fighter? Or... are we hoping one fighter can make the window for us? Because I' not certain we can all fit."

"Gauntlet fighters double as small drop ships for commando units." Narsai lists off, looking towards Wisp. "We used one on hoth to board the Marauder and take it." Glancing over at the fully recovered Kitfox she tilts her head to the side. It's her gun she's looking at. "We might be able to hit the shield generator from a little further away, if it's large enough to be externally located. I think I have a new toy that would do the trick."

"It was an adventure," Kitfox says quietly in response to Narsai talking about the boarding party. She looks to Russ, nodding, "That sounds sensible. The best option is the sneaky one. Do as much damage as we can. Sow chaos in their ranks as well if we can knock multiple systems offline." She looks at the map again, "...what sort of planet are we dealing with? Another inhospitable rock?" Something of note is Kitfox's manner of speech. It's accented in a proper, high Imperial sort of tone.

Russ nods his head towards Kitfox "You know me so well, i always take you guys to all the best places. There is a reason that only pirates have ever settled here. Russ brings another overlay up that shows the surface of the planet in proper colour now. "It is a volcanic wasteland. In many years the moon may be something special, but now. Well you can see for yourself." The planet on the display looks blackened by soot and smog, bright red lines of molten magma intersecting across the planet. "I would advise people to wear some sort of armour or rebreather. The air here won't kill you, but you won't enjoy your time." He looks around again "So everyone is fine with the plan, go in under the cover of darkness in a small craft. Covertly or not so covertly take out the AA batteries and the shield generator to allow reinforcements and bombardment from the Malachor." "Ahh... I see... Not a craft I am familiar with." Wisp admits to Narsai. "I like the plan. Preferably keep it... you know... on the quiet side. We don't really need to get into any more massive firefights or such."

"When we go extracting their prisoners and blowing up their shields? Quiet is a forgone concept. We'll work with what we've got." Narsai shrugs her shoulders as she looks between the others. "We have two ways to take out the guns. Cut the power, or knock them out at the source. We could hit them with the tank-killer, but they'll shoot back. Best bet is to day the shield generator down and let the Malachor's guns do the dirty work, clear us a path back out once we have the prisoners.

"Because pirates never seem to have secret bases on tropical beac planes," Kitfox says with amusement-laced deadpan in Russ' direction. "Perhaps if we clear it out, we can see who has the planetary rights and set up a mining station," she adds. Then she nods, "Simple plan. With room for improvisation. Because plans never survive beyond the briefing room, yes?" Meanwhile.

Jaiely Wren had started to lose track of time, the job interview had not been what it seemed, it had been a set up, she'd been attacked by her interview whom she'd subdued. However she wasn't ready for their two friends outside and one stun blast later. She was in some dank dark cell and chained to the wall. Her captors had not been nice, nor had they been entirely smart either.

She had not had any food for a long time and it was making it hard to think, yet they kept asking the same question as they manhandled her. They asked her about Mando Iron and seem convinced she knew how to work it. Her father might, and he Clan at one point had but the information was beyond her. She'd heard the guards talking about selling people off at a slave auction of some sort.

Not like this, this is not how she wanted things. She struggled against the bonds that held her to no avail, at least for the moment. She didn't intend to be sold like meat at a market, if she could help it. Even if it would entail provoking her captors into attacking her. There would be no one coming for her, she was pretty much certain of that. If she wanted out, she'd have to figure a way out herself.

Just getting through the atmosphere of the planet is difficult, even if a pilot of Narsai's calibre can handle it admirably. The air is chocked with thick smog and volcanic ash, meaning that flying purely by instruments is almost the only way to go. On top of that there are massive updrafts and stomach dropping turbulance. Finally you break through the thickest layer and the canyon opens out beneath you, even in the smaller Gauntlet class fighter it is going to be a tight fit. Wisp is strapped in and hanging on for dear life. It'd take the jaws of life to pry the little Mandalorian from her seatbelt. Eyes shut tight, teeth clenched. She does not like the suspiciously bumpy ride through the smoke and ash. "Are we there yet?!"

A tight fit, but fortunately for the others? The troop bay doesn't have windows. Weaving the ship between rocks and certain death Narsai's hands make the fighter tance until they're finally clear enough to begin setting their little ship down, hovering effortlessly into a landing and powering down with a chuckle. It's nice to fly something different. "Yes. We're there."

By now? Kitfox is kind of used to this. The breakneck rush to the Malachor when it was in hostile hands was the first trip of this sort. So now it's just the other way around. Kind of. She just holds onto the harness locking her into her seat and runs the information from the briefing through her mind, recalling the maps that she was shown. Hey, that metal head of hers is good for something, right? "You're a wonderful pilot," she says kindly to Narsai as she gets her gear together.

The walls of the canyon are sheer, the rocks jagged and sharp. Volcanic glass sticking jagged from various places along the canyon walls. Russ drops from the troop bay, straight down as many of the combat drop seats are designed to do. He immediatly flicks the low light vision of his helmet ot active, his hands resting on the grips of his pistols. He looks around carefully making sure the pirates didn't get smart and place a sentry down in the possible hidden approach, as unlikely as it is any of them would be willing to come down here just to watch for an enemy approach that is probably never going to come. His comm crackles to life in the others ears. "Looks all clear for now, if we continue down the canyon for another couple of kilometres we should be through their outer perimeter and have the best run at the Shield Generator. Once we all manage to get out of this canyon without alerting everyone to the fact we are here."

"I'm not going to make it..." Wisp admits, but it doesn't seem like she is going to die, in fact, it might be worse. The young woman has turned a particularly dire shade of green and looks quite unwell. "Hopefully we get there... soon..."

A release of a lever later and Wisp is going to find herself dropped onto her backside on solid ground as Narsai manually releases the drop seat. Stepping back to avoid suddenly dropping bounty hunters the woman clears her throat and offers a hand to the frightened woman. "We're there." she repeats dryly. "Pull up your socks, it's time to go to work."

"Four versus an army," Kitfox says quietly. "...we should be used to this by now, yes?" she glances to Russ, and then back to Narsai. The fallen Wisp is peered towards, though any emotion is impossible to see with her helmet on. She offers her hand as well, giving the woman added ease to stand, teaming up with Narsai. "We must tactically scoot as secretly as possible. And quickly."

A swift burst of thrusters, Narsai takes to the air, her thrusters only given enough to send her flying upwards. Twisting again through the air gracefully she flares the thrusters to cancel her momentum and drops onto the ground with a crouch, grinning a little to herself. She was starting to get the hang of this. Lifting her rifle she peers down the scope, scanning for threats and defences.

Kitfox, on the other hand, is not well versed in the jetpacking business. For the time being, she's content to fall back on her more basic skills. The armored woman scans the wall nearby, looking at the cliff's faces. Then when she's found a suitable spot, she starts climbing. The armor and the rifle are heavy, but arm over arm, hand over hand, she clambers to the top. Almost as fast as the jetpacking Narsai, scary enough.

Russ grins as he notices his sister take off up the cliff lifted by their armours inbuilt jetpack, he turns slightly as he notices Kitfox begin to climb very rapidly. He smiles and his own jetpack flares as he flies gracefully through the air. He comes up in an easy roll, coming up quickly to his feet. He turns and moves back to the canyon, aiming his gauntlet down towards Wisp before he fires off the liquid cable launcher. The comms crackle to life as he speaks again "Grab onto the cable and start climbing, it is a good thing you are so light or this would never work."

Looking around it is pretty clear they are inside the outer perimeter of the pirate outpost, it is however by no means a small compound. The building are still a good 300m distant, the shape of the shield generator rising up behind them. A couple of weapons emplacements can also be seen around the perimeter with more probably out towards the outer perimeter you have already passed. Wisp looks up at the cliff and just shakes her head. Yeeeeah.. probably not going to work out so well for me. I can't climb that so easily." Then, she gets the rope to climb. At least she can handle that part. So, she slings her rifle over her shoulder and climbs away!

A cable from Russ saves Narsai the effort, so the pilot keeps her eye on the perimeter through her scope and frowns a little. "Alright...so the prisoners have got to be around here somewhere..." she murmers mostly to herself while looking at the structures. "Which part of the compound looks the most...prison-y?"

Kitfox takes a knee next to Narsai, gazing out across that compound. "Should we not attempt to take out the generator first?" she asks, not using her comms. "Perhaps a communications array and some other things we can take out of commission to create more confusion?" she suggests, pursing her lips under her helmet.

The prison building isn't hard to find when you properly start scanning for it. It is the only building that looks like a prison building. It's walls are of thick duracrete and the windows are barred, there is a small 'exercise' yard that stands empty surrounded by a fence topped with sicked looking razer wire that occasionally crackles with blue arcing electricity. Apart from the shield generater and perimeter defences there is also some sort of dish clearly meant for long range transmissions. Wisp collects her weapon from her back and looks over at Russ. "So, want me to set up overwatch or go in with you guys? I'm not too good at that close quarters stuff, but I bet I could keep a pretty good eye on anything outside from even a decent vantage point."

A nod to Kitfox, her words are a good enough suggestion. "Anyone bring charges, or are we going to have to improvise?" Pointing at the dish she considers for a moment. "That should be target one, but if we can we should hit both at the same time. Sow confusion as Kitfox said. Not yet seeing any sentries she gestures for the others to move closer. "Shock wire, shouldn't be too much of an issue. Just stay out of sight."

"I was counting on improvising," Kitfox admits. "If we take some of the sentries down, we can overload their blaster packs and use them as impromptu charges, yes? Otherwise we just start ripping wires and fliipping switches." With her proper accent, it's likely amusing to hear her say such uncivilized things. But she's got what she's got. As far as Wisp's job? She'll defer to the leaders to decide. Jaiely Wren hangs there in her cell, she's hungry, she's so very hungry. She needs to work past that, she thinks what could she do to lure the guards in here. They want to know about Mando Iron, right? She might be able to get them to send someone to tell their big wigs, they are, hell they claimed to offer food if she'll start talking. Not that she wants their food, there's likely something in it.

"Hey! Aruetii! You want to know about Mando Iron, right? I might just have recalled something but my memory's fuzzy because ... I have no food. Get someone in here who actually could even hope to understand just what this so get one of your techs in here. I'm only going to say this once..."

Hopefully the tech will be more of Mynok in a fight that she is and they can cover power them if she can trick them to let her lose. Whatever happens she's not going to end up being sold like meat.

It is clear that this is not a Military camp, boisterous laughter and the sounds of merriment come out from several of the building as you draw closer. Men slowly start to come into shape out of the fog as you approach, drunkenly listing from side to side apparently their pillaging of the MandalMotors convoys has bought them plenty to celebrate about.

As Wisp makes her way away from the others and towards the volcanic stone hill that makes up the best vantage point, she hears a low sound. Like water dribbling on rock. Distracted by the sound for just a moment her foot hits a rock and sends it skittering across the rocky ground. The sounds stops and a low voice calls out from the darkness "Who goes there." A man comes slowly out of the darkness slowly doing up the fly of his pants. "Oh I didn't know we had taken in new recruits especially ones as pretty as you." The man drunkenly smiles at you as he lists slightly to the side.

Narsai's mishap is just as unfortunate as Emriels, although the pirates reaction is just a little bit different. Her armour is not soft, a volcanic rock scatches against one of the plates on her leg producing a screeching sound as well as a few sparks. A duo of drunken pirates turn towards the sounds, and even as drunk as they are they know the shape of that armour. The armour that can put fear into even the most stalwart hearts. "Mandalorians..." One of the pirates speaks under his breath as he takes an involuntary step back his mouth opening widely as he prepares to yell at the top of his lungs. Wisp slowly turns and looks at the drunk man. Her eyes narrow for a second. "I'm not with you." She states before she snaps her rifle into place and puts a bolt through his head. Chances are, out here, no one would see or hear it from a good distance, with all the volcanic activity and such, but... Still. "Uggh... damnit." She groans to herself and looks for a place to get set up.

So much for sneaking. The terrain isn't helping. Rocks and armor plating and more causing problems. Kitfox freezes when she hears the screetch and takes a knee, bringing her rifle up. Drunken staggering or not in the nearby men, she sees the alarmed look on one of them and pulls the trigger. A trio of bolts streak through the air, lancing into the wide-eyed pirate and sending him to the ground with smoking holes drilled through him. "I think this is the part we begin to improvise," she comments, after the other shot going off nearby.

The camp comes to life as multiple blaster shits echo out. Russ just slowly shakes his head from side to side and turns the power dial on his pistol up. He should have known better than to try a sneak attack, they have a history with sneak attacks and it is very VERY tarnished. Before the holes in the pirates have stopped smoking Russ is off like a bullet towards the comm array "We have to stop them calling their entire fleet back, they may overpower the Malachor with sheer numbers!" As fast as he is he is not fast enough. Someone far in front of him is far closer to the entrance to the Comm array "Wisp! Cover the door of the comms array, NOW!"

The raucous laughter emanating from a couple of the building come to an abrupt stop, it only takes a couple of seconds more and doors are thrown open, light starting to spill out across the black of the earth. This camp is not small, potentially hundreds of pirates. And only four Mandalorians on the ground to deal with it.

Inside the prison the tech is at the door to Wrens cell before he pauses as blaster fire echoes loudly from outside. "What in the hell..." He turns away from the sound and reaches down slowly drawing a small elegant looking blaster pistol. That accent and that pistol, he certainly doesn't seem to match the rest of the crowd around here.

In the same moment Kitfox opens fire, Narsai does the same. Her carbine gives a quick three bursts of red bolts, slamming into the other pirate's chest and dropping him to her feet. An exhaled breath and she keys her comm. "They might have heard that one guys. Double-time it on to the targets. We might have to do this quick and dirty." Wisp gets into positon, prone, somewhere with good visibility and draws a bead on one of the pirates running towards comms. As soon as she squeezes the trigger the idiot stumbles, causing her shot to fly by him. She rolls her eyes and preps to fire again. Jaiely Wren looks up as someone is coming in, she looks up at the tech for a moment. She sizes him up trying to get an idea of him.

"A pistol for someone whose in chains? I guess our reputation even in its withered state? Is enough to make you nervous?"

She tries to place the accent as she looks to them.

"I would have no idea what's going on. But it looks like you got some trouble coming Aruetii. So you want to hear what I have to say, or not?"

Someone's hitting the camp, if she can just get them closer.

Fuck it, time for a blitz attack. "Keep them down!" she calls to the fire support while she leaps into the air, her jetpack activating to speed her faster towards the comm station. Balancing her Carbine on her sling she's planning clearly on storming into the station before the call can go out. Shock and awe at its best.

Yep. Time to improvise. Kitfox picks herself up and opens fire, making heads turn and drop from the inbound shots. She takes off running, not towards the comm building, but towards the shield generator. Hopefully in the confusion she'll make some headway so they can call down a bombardmen. For now, though, she's just putting boots to rock and hauling tail.

Russ leaps back as he spots Narsai tear overhead and take out the person that Emriel fails to connect with, that Russ himself was about to stop. "Narsai, disable that comm array. Kitfox take out that shield generator, we do not have the time to consolidate and take them out one at a time now that we have lost the element of suprise." Russ fires his pistols rapidly at the pirates exiting the buildings, knocking downa couple in a flurry of bolts before they even properly realise they are getting shot at. "I'll draw them towards the prison. Try not to draw to much attention. When you have achieved your goals i'll need some covering fire, there are just a couple of hundred to many for me to deal with by myself." Russ's jetpack activates and sends him back towards the prison facility.

Ahead of Kitfox about 100 meters away are three pirates, obviously on duty to guard the shield generator. They were also obviously not expecting anything to happen on their watch. They are scrambling to set up a defensive perimeter." Narsai seems to have a clear run, right up until she steps in the door. There is a pirate already in there. His hands darting all over the the terminal "All ships, all ship..."

Kitfox keeps running, her focus on the goal ahead. Russ' orders in her ear are a redundant addition to her thoughts. All she can hear is the sound of her boots on the rock and her heart thumping. She's keenly aware of the pirate trio scrambling ahead of her to set up some sort of defensive line. Her movement slows only enough to shoulder her rifle effectively before she pulls the trigger, lancing one of the three clean through and sending him into the dust. She's got a job to do and pirate scum aren't going to get in her way.

They're about to have a transmission failure. Narsai's gloved hand clamps over the mouth of the man about to speak through the commlink, her lightsaber igniting through the back of his chest and into the console, ripping it apart. Drawing the weapon back the Mandalorian woman exhales and has an idea. "I'll deal with the comm station." She says simply before she brings the laser sword down on the consoles. Smash it all till it's unusable.

Russ breaks through the door of the prison with velocity and power gifted to him with the power of his jetpack. Two prison guards are inside, ready and set up for an attack to come through those doors. Unlucky for them it is almost impossible to prepare for the Mandalorians. One of them is gunned down before he gets so much as a shot off, the other managing a single panicked shot that flies past his shoulder. Outside the prison the sounds of the approaching pirates grows louder. "Ok i have to do this fast."

In the comm center things are going slightly differently, the comm unit speaks up the voice loud and clear "Base, base? This is scimitar fleet, please say again. We are experiencing some kind of interference. Are we to return?" On Kitfox's front things seem to have escalated into a firefight, with both side trading fire, sadly for the pirates they are not equipped anything like Kitfox is. Bitches love canons. Jaiely Wren wisely shuts up as to not piss the guy off when she can't make use of it, but she is hearing the sounds of weapons fire. Who the heck s busting in here? Local Law? Republic? Now there is a laugh, the Republic doing something good for her people. Mercs most likely hired by the company? Or worse a rival band of pirates.

That call comes through and Narsai curses. Too much got said too quickly. Their timetable just got a -hell- of a lot shorter. Clenching her fist she turns away from the console even she can't repair, activating her coms. "We're going to have company soon! We need to move this doubletime." Her eyes go to were Kitfox was headed to wreak the shield generator and has been caught in a firefight. Seems the 'Fox has the troopers covered, so she activates her thrusters and moves to head for the shield. Might as well keep breaking things.

Wren can see it outside her cell, she can hear it as well. The sound of a muted jetpack followed by the sound of blaster fire. The man standing in front of her cell spinning and firing off a single blast before two more slam into hyis chest and throw him to the ground. He is still breathing, but it doesn't look like he will bbe breathing for to much longer. Russ lands beside the tech lying on the ground and raises his pistol pointing it between the eyes of the man before he notices the mans higher quality clothing and elegant blaster pistol. "Malachor, send in team two. We have been discovered. Pirate comm array down, shield will be momentarily. Prepare orbital bombardment of designated positions."

Narsai can see it as they fly over Kitfox's head towards the shield generator, a small group of pirates all firing upon the Mandalorian cyborg. None of them have her firepower though. They scatter before he accurate and powerful return fire. She has them locked in place for now, but she can't last forever. Jetpacks are beginning to run low on fuel as you skid to a halt before the shield generator, you know that inside it is likely to be guarded by at least a couple of sentries. Even pirates aren't stupid enough to leave something that valuable and important unguarded.

This was smoother the last time she rode on one....but that wasn't by much. Last time Laika had been in this fighter Narsai had been flying it to board the enemy ship they now owned. Wearing her armor complete with its new heavier gauntlets the cathar is holding on for dear life while the pilot brings them in as prepared backup. They've got prisoners to extract and they intend to do it...but they've got to get to the ground first. When the fighter finally calls the drop she actually makes a sigh of relief before she prepares to make her landing. On her feet of course!

She's probably outnumbered, but this isn't exactly looking like an easy fight anyway. Grasping her lightsaber hilt she activates the weapon with a glowing hiss before she exhales, takes a breath and then reaches behind her, her vibrosword balanced into her other hand. It's a warm comfort, a weapon she'd carried for a very long time. Now it rests beside her new blade as she steps through the door, twirling both in a ready position.

Navi holds on for dear life as the Kom'rk-class fighter /Sharp Medicine/ roars into the atmosphere and descends under full power toward the pirate stronghold. Cannon fire makes for a shaky descent, but most of it goes wide, and the shields eat up the rest and ask for more. "Drop in one minute!" shouts the copilot over the intercomm system. "Get ready!" Navi tenses, readying her repulsor 'chute as the ship roars toward the base. The ship shudders as two canno bursts find their mark, then steadies as its own guns silence one of the batteries almost directly in their flight path and the copilot continues counting down the seconds. "DROP! Go, go, GO!" shouts the copilot as the /Sharp Medicine/ passes over the base. Navi leaps, followed by twelve shocktroopers armed only with vibroblades and similar weapons, some descending on repulsor 'chutes like hers, the others on jetpack flames. Boots are barely on the ground before the whole crowd rushes in through the nearest door and races to assist the party already on the ground. "It's a good day to die!!" the blonde shouts, and the call is taken up by many more throats, far louder than her own. "Gosh..." she murmurs, astonished by the volume and the vehemence. "These guys are /hardcore/..."

Jaiely Wren is hanging there she's given up talking to the man that's there. She knows he's someone else likely not part of the pirate band, but then she hears a sound. A jet pack? But that would be silly who would still use those, these days? Even if someone had come, naw it would have to be insanity there. The tech however ius down from the blast and Wren just /stares at the figure. It's a style of amror she's not quite seen before, but the feel of it is known and the visor design is a dead give away. She looks it over for a moment, no signs of known Death Wartch markings.

She speaks in Mando'a for a moment. "...Did the pirate drug me? Am I dead? Or are ... you a Super Commando...? Is this even possible?" Wren is still trying to get lose to no avail, she pauses. "Can you get me lose? I want to make these pirates think that even as we are that the people of Mandalore were easy pickings!"

Russ chuckles lowly as he bends down towards the critically wounded man at his feet, gathering up a pass card before he swipes it through the door control to the cells. "Some call me a Super Commando. I am Russ leader of the Mandalorian Revivers. Welcome to your rescue, we will be getting you and everyone else out of here. But first there is about 100 pirates battering down the door to this prison right now. I kinda drew them all this way so my compatriots could take down their shield generator." Russ turns as he hears the heavy drumming of repetitive footfalls on a hard duracrete floor. "And here they come. Lets hope our reinforcements get here soon."

Laika and Navi can see it as they burst through the clouds of the volcanic world and the heavy AA fire. The pirate base is in dissaray, people run around everywhere. And there are blaster bolts firing from several locations. Finally the pirates let out a loud cry right as you deploy and almost all of them start to stream into what you recognise from your briefing as the prison building. Most of them are unarmoured or lightly armoured and armed with a variety of low quality pistols and melee weapons.

Narsai is engaged as soon as he enters the Shield Generator by two pirates armed with vibroblades. It is not long before they hit the ground cut down both by skill and superior weaponry. However they managed to achieve one thing, they kept Narsai occupied for just long enough that their rifleman can now fire on the Mandalorian woman.

Suddenly beset by pirates, Navi, Laika, and the twelve armored warriors with her brace themselves to meet the onrushing attack. She takes aim with her paired Defenders and fires on the nearest pirate, but both shots go wide. A moment later pirates and Mandalorians meet like a wave crashing on a upthrust rock. Vibroblades are humming like angry insects, blasterbolts are criscrossing, axes and swords are hissing through the air, and the shouts and snarls of the living mix with the screams of the dying...

Jaiely Wren feels the restaints let go finally and she flops to the ground for a moment. She takes a second or two to force herself up but it's clear she's not in the best of shape. She's going to try to get the blaster from the tech for all the good it will do her. At least she has something. "Well I started this day either dying on my feet or prevoking them into doing something stupid before I got sold to some damn Hutt." She's going to try to find what cover she can now. "I'm pretty shoddy reinforcements I know..."

Moving forwards with a feline snarl, Laika leaps into the fray. Her weapons are naught but her apparently bare hands, but they've served her well enough in the past. Slamming forwards, she makes for the closest pirate. They'll take them down one by one if they have to.

Two heavy hits. Narsai's saber shifts to try and block the bolts but it's not quite a skill she'd ever been taught. Taking the hits hard the Mandalorian Knight charges forwards, sword sweeping the gun aside before her lightsaber passes through one of the pirates and cuts him down. Pivoting on the spot the woman spins, sword almost a perfect mirror in motion as this gun goes sideways and then the lightsaber takes the head from the second man.

"Sit behind me for now. We just need to hold them off a little while longer!" Russ grins unseen beneath his helmet as the girl sweeps up the blaster pistol from the ground. "My sister will have that shield generator down soon, and then this will all be over. We just need to hold." Russ hears the roar as Narsai's unit led by Navi and Laika descend on the rear of the pirates rushing to try and corner him in the prison, believing Russ on his lonesome to be a much bigger force than one man. He lets out his own cry as the front of the pirate group rounds the corner and begins to pour down the corridor towards him "For Mandalore!" Pirates start to drop as his pistols flare, but the press of bodies is to much and they step right over the corpses of their allies.

Laika and Navi are in the thick of it as they descend on the rear of the pirate mob, they certainly weren't expecting an attack from a squad of armoured and trained Mandalorians. But even fighting on two fronts their numbers are far greater, unless that shield generator is taken down soon all is lost. Luckily on Narsai's front all goes silent as another two pirate bodies slide to the ground.

In the midst of the fracas, Navi hears a blaster bolt scream past her ear, nearly clipping her hair. Spying the shooter out of the corner of her eye, she whips her pistols around and squeezes the triggers, watching the woman stagger and crumple to the ground. "Geez... she looked maybe nineteen at the oldest..." she murmurs, wincing as one of Narsai's fighters behind her takes a pirate's head off his shoulders with a sweep of a vibro-axe with a slick-sounding and sickening crunch of bone and slurp of flesh being cleaved...

An angry blur of punches and beatdowns, Laika pummels her target down to the ground. By no means is she the fastest at dispatching targets, but she's certainly a sight to see taking down pirates without a weapon in hand. Eyes narrowing on the prison building she gestures for the rest of the Former Deathwatch to move forwards while she bounds between the pirates, on two legs and sometimes all fours, trying to get in close for more immediate backup for Russ and the prisoners.

The shields are down, Narsai makes quick work of the switches and consoles until she can hear the energy being cut off and readouts compliment that. It's not quite as direct as blowing it up, but switching it off will do for now. Sheathing her sword and then driving her lightsaber through the controls the injured woman starts her way towards backing up Kitfox. "Malachor, the shield is down. Commence firing."

The bombardment starts and it shakes the ground. Within seconds a multitude of ships can be heard breaking atmo. It won't be long now until over one hundred Mandalorian warriors swarm over this area, the pirates do not stand a chance. And it shows. They hesitate in their attack. An then they start to flee. Navi, Laika along with their squad however is directly between the pirates and what few space worthy vessels they still have operational within their base. Russ does not slow just because the pirates are streaming back the other way, he knows if any escape now they will just RV with the fleet and cause more issues. His blasters continue to burn red hot as he continues his attack.

The pirates suddenly turn and rush them! Navi's pistols blaze again and again as blaster bolts criscross the air and blades rise and fall. Bodies crash to the ground, screams echo around, and suddenly Navi finds herself borne to the ground by a mad-eyed pirate trying to run right over her! She catches his wrist with her own, dagger guard braced against the butt of her pistol. Even as she maneuvers her other pistol, the knife comes slowly down, down, down toward her neck... And her Defender howls twice, light flares between their two bodies, and the pirate spasms and goes heavily limp. A moment later, the sounds of many more Mandalorians joining the fray drowns out the noise of battle. Big, rough hands shove the dead man off of Navi and lift her to her feet. "It's over, little sister," the helmed man says, overly formally for Navi's ears. "The day is ours." "Good... Russ can have the day," Navi replies wryly. "I just want a drink... I don't think I've ever been so thirsty."

To Kitfox' side Narsai goes, a lightsaber to add to the weight of the cannons and the orbital gun, slicing through foes in her wake. She might be injured, but they have the momentum. "Get those prisoners to the exfil ships, take down those pirates!" she calls over the Mandalorian channel, her voice echoed by the hum of her weapon as she cuts down another pirate.

Laika, Russ and Wren? They'll meet in the middle somewhere as one fleeing pirate is suddenly pounced from the other direction, the frenzied armored Cathar seizing his head and slamming it repeatedly to the floor. She can't use her claws, but she's lost none of her savagery it seems. Looking up from her foe she gestures with her head. "Backup has arrived."
