MandalMotors Arc: Part 2

OOC Date: Feb 15, 2016
Location: Naboo
Participants: Russ Ordo, Laika, Narsai Ordo

The meeting today is held in the common room of The Thunderheart rather than on the bridge of The Malachor. Russ looks up from the Holotable as the others enter the room, he stands to his full height slowly and moves around the table. "So it as we thought all along. The pirates were not doing this of their own volition, nor was this the only group hired for the task." Russ pauses for a moment as he considers his next words, slowly letting out a held breath "It is a rival company. That up until now has been nothing more than a very minor annoyance. Until now. They are not Mandalorian, however somehow they have figured out how to work Mandalorian Iron. And now thanks to the pirates they have all the tools and materials they need to start manufacturing." Another pause "We can't allow that to happen. It will allow many outsiders to get their hands on Mandalorian Iron products. And it will greatly weaken Mandalmotors, who we need to support us to remain sustainable long term."

"Mandalorian Iron?" Laika repeats, moving to take a seat as the explinations are given and adjusting her guantlets on her hand. She was always fiddling with those lately. "How much have they got on hand? Are we talking building suits of armor, weapons or building ships here?" Market competition is one thing, a galaxy full of things tougher to kill isn't all that good news to the Cathar.

"Not good." Kind of an understatement from Narsai as she listens, but it's a simple summery. "Beyond weakening Mandalmotors. If people work out how to work Mandalorian Iron, it'll start a huge rush to mine as much as they can. It'll be like the rule of the Empire all over again. Planets, moons, all of it stripmined. Even without an invasion, our worlds could be almost hollowed out within a few years if the entire galaxy is trying to get its reserves." The pilot shifts, moving to stand once more. "So...we're blowing it up then?"

"Well we can't destroy an entire company easily. They may not be the largest, but lately they grown in influence lately and have factories on many planets. We need to find the right cog to take from the machine. Luckily we have found at least one such cog, with the help of one of their technicians we captured attacking the pirate base. He was trying to extract yet more secrets from some of our armour crafters." Russ looks towards Laika and Narsai "They have at least a couple of thousand tonnes of Mandalorian Iron. More than enough to armour up a few ships and manufacture some of our armour. We cannot allow this to happen. And as you say sister, if this gets out it could spell the beginning of the end of everything." Russ pauses one more time "They are not stupid, they have set up their factory where we cannot easily target it. Which is why we must do this rather than The Malachor. The factory is on Naboo, they are hiding behind their public image. This presents a unique challenge for us. We must limit civilian casualties, we must not be recognised and yet we must completely destroy everything of importance within the facility."

"The right cog..." Laika says slowly. "That would be their information on how to work the Iron. But that could be a file, a droid or a few people who have it in their heads." The Cathar grunts, there's thinking, but the former slave is quick to come to an idea. "We need to be able to get into their network, check and erase files...then we set the factory to blow somehow, make it look like an accident that's their fault. You ruin them, they'll destory their own company."

Perhaps there's a look of suprise from Narsai, given that she hadn't expected Laika to come out with such a plan, but she nods her head. "Problem is we lack a droid or a slicer, we'd have to outsource or 'convince' someone with access to get us in. We can be pretty convincing." Turning her attention back to Russ Narsai frowns. "What about our armor? We get seen wearing it, it's pretty distinct we're responcible."

"Exactly, we can wear it if we think it is for the best. But then we cannot be seen by anyone we are not willing to kill. Other than that we go in unarmoured and lose a big advantage to gain anonymitity." He nods again "Yes we lack a talented slicer sadly, so if we are to get into their network and finds out who has the knowledge we will need to capture a high level employee and force them to let us into the network." He nods to Laika "Hopefully that is exactly what happens. We take this source of their new influence, the know-how to forge and create with Mandalorian Iron. The factory with the tools they need to do so, and hopefully their ciomany will crumple down around them. Their influence gone."

It's too pretty here. Too clean to be genuine. After all the grime and mistrust of Nar Shaddaa? Laika finds Naboo...far worse. Like behind the happy smiles and nice buildings there's far more nasty things waiting. Or perhaps it reminds her of the false luxury of her old life. Either way the Cathar is on edge as she wears her old armor, thankfully having kept it around. Having agreed to leaving behind the Beskar'gem with the others she looks down at the blaster pistol on her hip and gives a breath. "So will this place stand out? Everything looks strange here."

"We're a long way from Nar Shaddaa," Narsai murmers under her breath in silent unknowing agreement with her feline companion. Giving a little shudder the Mechanic actually feels a little odd not wearing her armor now. The spacer jacket long enough to hide the relatively small carbine she's carrying, but not nearly as protective.

Russ walks beside the others down the far to pristine streets of Naboo. His eyes looking over the elegant buildings and the smiling peaceful people, just a little bit different from the outer rim planets and moons he has visited lately. He too is not dressed in his armour, and this time not even his usual gi like casual clothes. He doesn't exactly meld into the people around him, but then again most spacer fashion can hardly mesh in with the fashions of Naboo. He is dressed in green cargo pants ending in laced up heavy boots and a brown leather jacket over a faded black t-shirt.

Finally arriving at the factory it looks different from the surrounding buildings. Not so much because of the architecture but because of the 'feel' of the people loitering around or dissapearing inside the factory in the morning rush. The building is surrounded by a barred durasteel fence, a guard checking worker ID's as they move through the gate. Inside there are more guards than are strictly required for a factory of this type. The people moving through all look like offworlders as well, or at least they are not dressed in what looked like high naboo fashion on the way over.

"You may have to do some talking," Laika murmers to the pair, then she steps away, headed up the street and looking for someone who matches the workers. Narrowing in on one she steps past, waiting for the right moment and then 'nudges' the off-worlder, giving them a little growl as they continue on in an unworded 'Watch it!' Once they've moved away she circles back, holding the card out to the pair. "Think you can get us in, or do I have to try for two more?"

Narsai gives Laika a grin, reaching out to take the card as offered and then holding it out to her sibling. "You do the talking, you've always been the better bullshitter anyway." Assuming Russ takes the card she'll follow, but already there's a curiousity to her mind given some recent revelations. But it's a wondering she keeps to herself.

Russ stands in the line of workmen heading through the gate, the one card they have pilfered held in his hands. He moves up to the gate guard with a fake smile like that adorned by so many of the other workers moving through the gate. "Hey, so my friends have misplaced there ID cards. Can you let them in just for the day? I have mine right here." Russ holds the card up for the scanner and the man diligently swipes it, he looks up at Russ not even bothering to look down at the scanner as it lets out a positive beep. "Look you know the rules, I can let you in. But your friends need to get new cards, or they need to find their old ones. Until that happens they aren't coming in, and they aren't getting paid." Russ shakes his head "Come on mate we are on a special progect, we can't get anything done today without them. They have unique talents from the rest of the workmen." The guard does not appear moves by Russ's words nor does he seem inclined to let the others in, so Russ does what he does best. "Achieve the mission." He steps foward grabbing the guard by his shirt and slams his forhead into the mans nose, which explodes in a shower of blood.

Now it's time for the Cathar to look suprised as Russ headbutts the guard like that, stepping back very quickly with a curse. So much for bluffing harder! She'll give him a few moments to have -all- the attention, then she very carefully steps past the checkpoint in the wake of the chaos, hoping that Russ' distraction will pay off.

Well...no experimenting with Mind tricks of legend today. Russ' is showing his negotiating prowess at its finest. Giving a little gasp of supprise she too waits for Russ to have the attention of the guards and then tries to slip by, muttering something under her breath at her sibling about not getting himself shot while they're gone.

Those to many guards start to make their way over. Luckily they seem to be focused on the muscular man currently beating a couple of guards into submission, Russ's hands are now coated in blood as he lays into the guards coming at him. The press of bodies will soon be too much to give him room to swing. But that distraction is definitly enough to let a couple of offworld workers into the factory perimeter. Now they just have to try and complete the mission and hope Russ doesn't get beaten to death while they are at it. Luckily this is Naboo and they don't look as kindly at that kind of thing as Nar Shaddaa.

Laika moves towards the building, gesturing for Narsai to follow her and sparing one last look back towards Russ before she makes her way towards the office. "Tell me if you see something that looks important, computer-like..." she murmers towards the redhead along-side her. "We'll worry about getting on their network afterward."

"Understood," Narsai nods, stepping in front of Laika as they move in. It's a caution after all, the cathar might stand out if the workforce is mostly humanoids. Best that they work fast! Taking a breath to try and keep her focus she turns her attention towards the search for networks and slicing opportinities.

The office is like many others for large factories across the galaxy. There is a front counter with a receptionist who looks up expectantly as you enter. There is a corridor behind her leading to a series of first floor offices. Overlooking the foyer in which you currently stand is another corridor leading to another series of offices. You can hardly make it out stenciled on one of the doors from down here, the word overseer.

Heading past the receptioning, Laika gives Narsai a nod of her head to deal with the receptionist while she walks onwards like she were simply venturing where she is ment to, keen senses searching for signs for security and resistance.

Narsai isn't exactly her brother when it comes to bluffing and talking her way through things, but time to try. Again it's a shame they're not in the skeevier places of Nar Shaddaa, where they could play certain aspects. But culture comes with its own expectations and illusions. "Hello," she says calmly, leaning forwards. "I'm from the Theed City Workers guild, I have an appointment?" Of course she doesn't, but hopefully the searching buys Laika some time.

The presence on her mind seems to get her nowhere. However Narsai has other assets that help her out. The receptionist looks at the girl with a warm smile her eyes not so covertly looking over Narsai's body. "I'm afraid i can't see you here on the schedule. There may have been a communication error between our offices. I am sure i can arrange it for you though. Sorry about the inconenience but you may have to come back another day. This is our first day of full fledged production and things are obviously chaotic."

Rifling around as fast as she can without leaving a trace, Laika leans over in front of the terminal and considers it for a few moments. She'd seen the others cracking terminals before. How hard could it be right? It's no so much her own talent as a reciting from memory, but she manages the bypass with a little grin of victory and then starts scanning through the files. "Looks like what we're looking for is in the factory..." she murmers over the comlink.

Narsai's not blind to the little shift of the receptionist. That wasn't expected to say the least...but a good warrior presses every advantage. "Crap...I really need to organize things today. I'm ment to review the factory floor, the production process, make sure it's not beyond acceptable levels of safety before things have been going to too long otherwise my boss will have my head." A pause and she leans forwards, going for broke with a little excess cleavage. "I suppose it could work out if I took the look around today and you could arrange for the meeting later in the week? It'd give me the evening free that day..." she leads, dropping hints for just what could fill that evening later.

The receptionist tears her eyes away from Narsai's cleavage before shaking her head "That should be fine, you already showed your ID at the gate. Just stay inside the designated walkways while you are on the factory floor and you will be fine. There is alot of machinery swinging around in there so just please stay inside the walkways, for both your and workers safety." The receptionist taps quietly at her computer for just a few more moments "There is an open appointment in two days doe mid morning if that works."

Drifting out of the overseer's office, Laika makes her way down an onwards, heading for the factory whatever way she might be able to. There's another office out there for her to find and she's going to find it. Slinking through, the Cathar spares a thought towards their other team member. Perhaps they'll find the holding cell on the way...but probably not.

Narsai smiles at the receptionist before nodding her head. "Sounds perfect, I'll look forward to it then..." With that, she gives the Receptionist a winning smile and pushes her way outwards towards the factory floor. All she has to do is blend in and find something important enough to break while still looking like an accident at the same time as getting into their network. Easy enough,

The likely room for the mainframe isn't hard to find, overlooking the factory floor is a large office with one way windows. There is a single stairway that is exposed leading up to the suspended office. The factory floor itself is getting into full swing, sparks flying across the stone duracrete floors several large machines hammering and shaping metal into various forms. Workmen move around the floor in protective gear or stand over consoles and machines ensuring everything runs smoothly on the first day of full production.

Laika's got a destination in mind, but no pathway to get to it. She needs to think of something, and fast. Lurking as best she can in reach but out of sight she hits her commlink. "Narsai, found the door but I've got no card for it. Ideas?"

The great thing about knowing how to repair things? It helps you know how to break them too. Spotting a particular thermal baffle and hydrolics on one of the smelters she casually makes her ay over to it like she knew what she was doing and starts to work on her fix. It goes smoothly enough, an easy task for her...but not quite as unnoticed as she'd have liked.

In a factory like thios maintenance on the machines is common sight, so even as Narsai is noticed there is no cause for alarm. A minute or two later though a low alarm starts up in the factory, a high pitched tone that drops down to a drone before pitching again. An automated voice sgrates out "All personel evacuate the area immediatly. All personel evacuate the area immediatly, this is not a drill." Everyone starts to stream for the doors, for now no one is after Narsai but it can only be so long until the rather suspicious timing comes to light. As the alarm starts to go off the door infront of Laika slides open quickly a man stepping out, he is dressed in higher quality clothing to the other workers but he still looks like has has seen the harder side of life at some stage.

Yoink! Narsai waits till the man passes and oh-so-nimbly picks the card from the man coming out, waiting to slip inside and catch the door. That's one more hurdle delt with, now they just need to deal with the computer. "That did the trick Narsai, everyone's leaving the area. Should make this smooth."

"Well Laika, I've got about 10 minutes at most before I'm going to be saying 'it's my first day' to someone important, so work fast. The evacuation should give us some time to get clear and escape in the confusion if we time it right." Narsai says, already moving to try and blend with the crowd. "We've got our accident."

Getting inside the office isn't too hard, not with the overseer in that much of a hurry. Even getting the card from him is a breeze. Compared to his office in the administration building this place is an absolute mess. Paperwork is scattered around on an over large desk, and on the desk is a tough looking hard wired computer. Clearly more secure than most others around. The problem will be erasing the data that needs to be erased, there is also the machines left down below that may be paused now but are still quite capable of working the stolen Mandalorian Iron.

Time is off the essence and Narsai sets to work. Headed over towards the manufacturing droids the mechanic cracks her fingers and rips open panelling, begining the process of a few tweaks. "Preparing a bigger mess Laika. How are you going in there?"

"Password is....Password..." Laika just gives a groan as she taps away at the keyboard and starts searching. "I'm in, finding my way to the data and backups. Working as fast as I can." The Cathar is grinning to herself, but it's mostly that she'd been having such luck working with the computer systems. Maybe this was something she needs to put some time into.

Once you are into a network, and you are undetected it does not take much effort to bring the whole thing down. Which is good because it is definitly time to get the hell out of this facility. Down below several of the large manufacturing droids use their inbuilt tools to destroy whatever they can get their mechanical appendages on. The sound of emergency services outside grows louder and louder. It looks like for now the mission is accomplished, the company that has doen so much to try and sink MandalMotors is going to lose quite a few of their new investors after this set back. So far it will be known that someone had a hand in this accident, whether they can figure out who remains to be seen.
