Karys' search for her brother brings the group to Gulma and its toxic atmosphere that is used to the advantage by the First Order.

OOC Date: January 23, 2021
Location: Gulma
Participants: Mandalorians, Karys, Rathe Kora, Hadrix Kora, Zelo Parrai, Terek Rosol, Eirik, Hahtavi, Sumi Kora

Karys

Gulma is a wasteland of poisonous air, stripped by the Imperials for everything it was worth. The natives have long since left never to return but the Imperials have used the inhospitable location to build up a few of their training centers for the young and brainwashed. The Taylir is bringing everyone in close as the gear that is needed for those without sealed suits is handed out. Rebreathers will help make sure that no one has a problem with the current environs.

Karys stands with the others, checking her information again. <"We need to get inside">, she begins, the vocoded tenor of her voice carrying to the others as it crackles inside their helmets. <"It says he was transferred here and we should be able to secure the target. Male about fourteen years of age. Designation MZ-162. I will see if I can not get us the information if I can find a terminal, that is the first objective and some of us have been to these facilities again. Rathe, Hadrix and myself are familiar. We will see if we can't hit the main room first then find out where he is.">

The Taylir piloted by Zelo is settled down just on the blind side of the building allowing the group to disembark and head for the facility which is being guarded from the inside, given the fact no on expects an attack in such a poisonous environment.

Rathe Kora

Boots maglocked to the deck, Rathe is leaning up against the bulkhead next to the hatch leading to the ramp of the Simiyiar Freighter, Taylir te briik. His head rolls backwards and then forwards to crack his neck. He's already done his typical mission pre-check of his gear without looking. He's also done it well over three times by now. Rathe had practically been prowling the decks of the cargo hold like a caged animal for the last leg of the flight in. Fingers drum the hilt of his Vibrosword bolted to the exterior of his armors left calf. His right hand had at rest, thumb hooked on the top of the utility belt until they started touching down.

He reached up with that hand and grasped a handhold above him. Once down, the boots disengage, Rathe steps forwards and draws the Modified E-11 Karys had done for him, the stock is extended and he murmurs. <<"Comm check. Better have your filters in place or your armor sealed. Sealing off the cargo hold from the rest our ship now.">> Rathe starts opening the hatch, he's in his heavily modified set of Dreadfinder armor. His environmental seals are engaged, keeping him safe from the toxic atmosphere... and air conditioned.

Hadrix Kora

Hadrix rests in a crouched hunker, the air-rebreather fitted to the toxin filtration system of his helmet, head down, hands wrapped around the long barrel of his chosen weapon for the eve - nearly as tall as he is and big enough to cause a 'dad grunt' when he hefts it. Right now it's a support pole of sorts.

Two in less than a month.

Conversations dredging up memories.

The crown of his helmet rests against the weapon in hand even as he speaks.

<<"Ground intrusion on a functional base will be like a beach run on enforced positions. They're trained to deal with ground forces, jetpack operation is for AIT and for specialist schools. Leap frog approaches or rooftop entry suggested. If we want to draw out the garrison, ground forces - heavy weapons and repeating weapons if possible. Watch for the red-stripes on armor if they use the recruits.">> running down methodology as he begins to get the adrenaline shakes, like a race animal pressed against the chute gate.

<<"Heaviest weapons center, they may try to crescent, lighter weapons on flanks to stop envelopment and re-direct attention during formation.">>

At last Hadrix stands up, shoulders rising and falling hard with his breaths as his voice has become an animal's growl.

Zelo Parrai

Zelo flips the last of the switches to power down the ship as he is already rising from the pilot seat. It's a pleasure to fly, but there's no grin on his cobalt-blue face beneath the Skyripper helmet; this is about family. Not his, but sort of - Clan/Family/Ties get complicated. Rather, he keeps it simple. Shoot anyone that's shooting at the people he came with, and shoot anyone who shoots at anyone they're leaving with. Just a lot of shooting, because that's what he knows he can do outside of the ship. Poisonous air warrants a rebreather and he secures it to his helmet before going over his weapons: only the E-11 and E-17D today, there's no point in a cannon in close quarters. Each is double- and triple-checked for function, ammo, and feel.

He's nervous, which is unusual, and he's shifting lightly from one foot to the other as he watches the ramp lower. His fingers clench and release repeatedly as he holds the E-11 ready, Karys' craftsmanship certain to carry through until they're off the ground again. There's nothing to add until he has something to see. <"I'll call out anything I catch. Eyes open, mouth shut otherwise."> He moves up to follow the lead, still shifting back and forth and ready to spring.

Terek Rosol

Terek's along for the ride on this one, his armor sealed and locked down tight, "So any specific rules of engagement we should be aware of?" He asks. Frankly he's not really looking to shoot any kids if he can avoid doing it, but if they're shooting back at him well...His weapon does have a stun setting for a reason.

He runs one last check of his armor and brings his blaster out of the leather holster on his side, "Should we be worried about any armored vehicles or anything like that?"

Eirik

Eirik looks around as he once again checks over his gear. Hearing from Karys and Rathe first he nods his head carbine in hands. <<"Copy that.">> He says listening and watching taking in each word and everything in sight. Hadrix speaking gets his attention again and he raises his head. <<"Wait they'll send recruits at us?">> Eirik sighs shaking his head.

Hahtavi

Hahtavi doesn't even know most of these people, these Koras and others, that Hadrix has brought him along to join on this 'little' op. He's sat or stood quietly depending on the space and kept hold of something as they come in to land. Like others he's checked his gear over but only once, since he'd already checked it before boarding. He's brought both a flame thrower and his rifle. Sometimes his gaze has been upon Hadrix but mostly he's spent some of his time studying and watching the others. Relaxed, restful, until they are coming in for the landing, then he's alert and makes himself ready. He moves to stand and braces himself, drawing his rifle as they prepare to put boots on the ground. His own breathing now filtered and suited up accordinly against the caustic atmosphere they are about to embark into. On this op, he'll be listening out for orders as the tag along. <"Hahtavi copies all, over.">

Sumi Kora

'Little Sumi' is ready for the op and quiet for the entire brief. Her focus seems centered on her hands as she fidgets with each, adjusting the beskar bracers and ensuring the spool for her wrist launcher remains unblocked to prevent it from jamming. If she had input to give, it was not spoken yet. This was not her mission and she was here to show her support. Sumi was not the orator Hadrix was, or the tactician either. She could soldier though, and that's what she's going to do.

This Mandalorian carries a pair of swords against her back, the blades fed through a single ring (one for each) which have been attached to a fancy leather baldric that's buckled diagonally across her chest. Her cape is pinned down by this, her jetpack, and a satchel chocked full of Grand Gungan Army boomers she kept to disable technicals and electronics of concern.

When the others indicate they are ready to depart, the quiet century old soldier brings up the rear, hands still fidgeting with her gloves and making a fist with her left hand like there were some issue with the tension of the glove each time her hand constricted.

Karys

Karys glances to each and stops when she looks at Terek, <"Not likely as we are heading inside. The planet itself is enough of a deterrent for the rational mind." Humor. She made a joke. Eirik however gets a nod. <"The older ones might, depending. Some are ready to be released into service here so they may arm up. We secure the location by hacking into their system, get in, get out. WE try to avoid killing the younger ones but those in full armor, shoot on sight.">

Hadrix plan is sound and as they set down and load out, rockets flare to life and every mandalorian with one makes it to the roof. Karys slips and nearly lands on her ass half way up. Luckily there is a hand from an upward going Rathe and Karys latches on, set down on the roof top before he manages to touch down. As the group fans out the plan becomes clear. Blast a path righ through the roof and catch them offguard.

She stays back as those talented in the arts set the charge and the roof rocks itself open, giving them entry and alerting the facility but the roof is most definitely not the location expected.

She scoots forward as the smoke is still rising and slides right into the base as the entire population of the facility is reacting first to self preservation from the environment that is slipping in around them through the new entry point.

<"The computer facility should be back down this hall..."> she remarks and begins that way, slow and steady pace."

Rathe Kora

Preparations continue, and Rathe grunts, turning to follow the others after everyone is disembarked. The former First Order Vanguard seems less detached than he normally would on a mission, it shows in his tone as he speaks into the Ops Frequency before they begin. <<"Everyone needs to understand something right now. Those -recruits-, have been indoctrinated. The -will- be trying to kill us if they get the chance. For this operation, as much as you can set for stun. But understand. You're potentially facing miniaturized versions of Hadrix, Karys, and myself.">> There is a pause followed by a grim. <<"For the instructors? kill them. Kill them all.">>

Rathe had waited for them all to advance, he was still trying to still his inner storm. Focus on the mission. Focus on the mission. Focus on? Karys slips and Rathe launches late, his left arm snaps out and his hand and Karys's slap together in time. <<"I got you Cyar'ika!">> Rathe doesn't realize that was on the primary comms for them all. He lets Karys go only when they above the roof. Fortunately for Rathe he's back from the blast enough to just be lightly buffeted, and his visor polarizes in response.

Hard long steps bring him to catch up to Karys just as she drops. Rathe is right in after her, no hesitation, switching the E-11 to stun as he brings it to bear.

Zelo Parrai

Zelo Parrai lets the E-11 hang at his side as he nears the wall, Skyripper gauntlets helping him find just enough purchase to scale the facility's exterior well enough to avoid a lift. He turns away as the two Mandalorians are assembling their door installer, but the sound of scuffling footsteps pulls his attention back just in time to see the detonation go off. Black-pool eyes slam shut in his visor, but the afterimage persists as he drops down into the hole they had made. He sweeps in a full circle while he brings the blaster to bear, but all he can seem to see is the burning sphere of an explosion that already happened. Missing what Hadrix saw, he begins to follow Karys - completely unaware of what lies behind.

At the sound of a massive pair of gunshots, Zelo wheels around, but he's still trying to blink the sparks in his vision away and can find no definite target. Outside of his helmet, though, it looks like he's brandishing the weapon very well.

Side by side with Karys, ready to Taylir te briik... hold the line.

Terek Rosol Terek moves, jetpack lighting up and sending him flying. He lands on a rooftop, takes a couple of running steps, and then launches up through the air again. He doesn't spot anything to hit, at least not yet, but he lands once again and continues to run.

This isn't looking very pretty, things are already hectic so Terek is going to have to be on the top of his game for this fight. It's one of the most intense he's seen so far!

Eirik

Eirik takes a breathe raising his rifle moving in with the rest tactically. He listens to what Hadrix Rathe and Karys say and keeps his head on a swivel. <<"Copy that. Thats disgusting that they'd do this.">> He growls and than there's the blaster fire. <<"Any fun left for me?" He asks with a laugh looking to Hah and the rest of the group.

Hahtavi

The new guy who identified himself over coms as 'Hahtavi', doesn't have a jetpack or other means to fly up to the roof. But as the others take off from their debark from their ride, the new guy runs to the building and slings his rifle to start climbing, using the aids in his Skyripper armor to make it faster and easier than it would have been otherwise. In moments his boots are on the roof and he's playing catch up, rifle coming back to the ready. At once he moves for cover, watchful and listening ere he'll advance again. But not until the others make a hole they can use. He is mindful to look in another direction and opens his mouth with the rebreather in case of overpreasure against his ears.

BOOM! There it goes! Knock, knock, we're here! Hahtavi watches their Six as their team starts to access the building. Karys leads the way and unless one of the others should indicate otherwise, Hahtavi's riding drag position to watch their asses. Except that as soon as they are inside he sees movement the other direction! Targets ID'd and contact called out by Hadrix, Hahtavi raises his rifle and fires off two shots, nailing one of the troopers himself after missing the first.

Alas, the one Hahtavi's shot is only wounded. That one's still up but decidedly distracted from shooting back. Blaster bolts light up the hall as briefly all hell breaks loose!

Sumi Kora

Sumi takes to the air after beebopping down the ramp with a slight limp/swagger, the humidity bothered her old knees. With talk of reaching the roof, it's that direction she goes after the activation of her jetpack. Propulsion ignites from the vents on her pack, and her cape is pinned down by the gust. Dust and dirt flare out at her take off and the small Mandalorian lands atop the structure to segue into a walk. She clasps her hands and waits quietly as demolition charges are set, then braces upon an outside ventilation unit to keep from having the concussion from knocking her off balance.

With ears ringing, they enter the 'breach' and land inside. Sumi's first instinct is to reach for the pommel of one weapon on her back but refrains at recalling what Rathe said about being careful who they fight with what. Lethal force is often a touchy subject among Mandalorians, but more so with soldiers. A lot of thought goes into engaging a target, and that's what Sumi encounters when she lands below and is face to face with, what she assumes, is a young trooper.

They hesitate and Sumi does not. The fastest way to strike was straight ahead, and Sumi recalls her own training under Sana, who had constantly said 'Imagine punching through their face. Align your knuckles like so, adjust your body weight, twist the upper body and flair the heel. You are small, but your armor is heavy.. use the weight, girl.'

Sumi used the weight of her beskar'gam and slugged the trooper across the cheek with a gauntlet comprised of Mando iron that all but splintered the plastoid helmet of her foe, spilling them sideways in a heap of stunned weight. Sumi imagined dazed eyes staring back at her, but she did nothing to observe her foe for the next was upon her. This one receives a glancing blow, a back hand across the face that segues to a riposte of sorts that Sumi steps back casually to avoid, using minimal effort. Both her hands rise, motioning the trooper to her, to continue, as if the sport of fighting seems something Sumi enjoys.

Karys

Karys is focused on getting to a terminal along the way that her back is oriented towards the troopers. When the first shots ring out she looks back but does not hesitate in continuing on her way. <"Hold them at bay! I need time."> As the smoke continues to clear and the klaxon's sound there are announcements going through the building.

"Enemies have breached the roof and are on the third floor of the facility."

Three of the white armored troopers are down with smoke rising from their forms, a third is hit, caught off guard by Hahtavi's shot and the last two have the unfortunate chance to dance with the Alor of Kora who downs one into unconsciousness and the other takes a heavy hit but swings back.

There is the sound of more boots on the ground as from down the corridor several more are taking up positions to fire back.

Karys pauses at the terminus of the corridor in the direction she is going and hovers outside security where the terminal she needs is and the moment she steps up she lets out a sound and hugs the wall after sharing one exchange shot with the security members inside. <"I have contact in the room!">

Rathe Kora

His visor turns towards Hadrix as he speaks on local Vox. Rathe nods at his Former-Vanguard Brother. He watches Hadrix move, maybe it's to watch his back, maybe it's happenstance, maybe it's Rathe has been in medical school, and once again is using Psychology on the big guy to amp him up. It's Rathe, guile isn't his thing, but speaking bluntly is. About as blunt as Hadrix' bowcaster.

His own HUD had glitched, so there was not shooting through smoke. A nod at Zelo knowing he'll move to position, a silent Visor stare at Eirik latter comm-chatter. Hahtavi is an unknown to Rathe, but the man's able to shoot immediately, another nod. Sumi? Sumi gets a helmet tilt to the side as she she becomes the Kora Wrecking Ball. Not for the first time, Rathe mentally notes not to make Sumi angry.

Karys calls out what she needs, and Rathe is striding after her. The HUD glitch fixed, he takes up position to the right so he can turn and peer down the corridor on the right along the left wall. When Karys cries out about contact, Rathe whirls in place and fires reflexively?

Having missed, Rathe looks down briefly in surprise? he forgot it was on Stun, a very rare thing for him. <<"Somebody pop those goons in the face for her!">> Rathe has to take up his position covering that right corridor because it's his new job.

Hadrix Kora

Disgusting. Indeed.

Fortunate he can't smell the antiseptic scents mixed with blood, sweat, and stale fear. <<"Do you require backup, Karys?">> his voice is a bestial rasp and his visor focuses on the Stormtrooper issuing command gestures.

'What's wrong, Nine-Oh-Four?'

That old voice. Entire body going still, there is a sound from within Hadrix's helm - externals are not engaged, his comms aren't exchanged. But it fuels the forward steps taken to brace himself and lean into the shot. Fortunate for those with ear protection in their helms from the report.?

FWOOM

A half-moon blown into a corner of the hallway a white hot bolt skipping off of the floor and embedding itself further down.

FWOOM

The ceiling above the commander spraying powdered duracrete and flat-panel light fragments down onto them. <"Aim low, they're used to center of mass and head, aim low and go for the legs. They'll still die with their legs blown off or their pelvis blasted to shrapnel.

Zelo Parrai

Zelo, finally shedding the afterimage in his eyes, sees the initial advance of enemy's halted in quick fashion by a Mandalorian response. There are certainly more coming, but then

<'I have contact in the room!'>

Wheeling, the Nautolan is taking long and quick strides with his E-11 raised as he moves to back up Karys and Rathe. Pausing for a moment, he exhales and squeezes his trigger finger, bare pad discharging a single round from the rifle as an instant later a security officer drops, hard. <<"One down, one up in security. Taking up a watch position at the junction.">> He follows Rathe closely but moves left where the other goes right, still training his gun for an opportune shot at the remaining guard.

Terek Rosol

It seems Terek's luck is not working out as well as he would like, because he fires a pair of shots at one of the troopers, but the shots go wide. He then immediately takes a shot to the thigh, falling back behind his cover, and pulling his leg up close to himself, "Damn!" That hurt like hell. The shot managed to miss the armor plate entirely and sear through the leather under-armor and flesh.

Eirik

Eirik takes up position dropping to a knee raising his blaster carbine taking aim. <<"I got this.">> He growls taking his first shot it goes wide the second hitting the security officer and dropping him. He resets his weapon to kill be than he sees Terek Go down. <<"Rathe, We got a man dow!!! Kriff that hurt.">> He calls out taking a blast to his chest.

Hahtavi

Frak if it's /his/ place to shoot the guy Sumi punched in the face, when that son of a bitch stupidly moves to get back to his feet. Nice as it would be not to have unconscious people shooting them in the back, that's Sumi's man so Hahtavi shouts a warning over his coms even as he's shifting his rifle quickly for a new target - in Red leader's direction. <"Sumi! You're man's getting back up!"> She can take care of him while the new guy fires off two more shots, rifle butt firm up against his shoulder as he advances and keeps a clear line of fire open even as he puts himself up against a wall and out of the main firing lane down the hallway.

Both of his shots miss, though one almost a hit. It makes Hahtavi SCOWL into his helmet but no one can see the brief flare of anger at himself for rushing a touch. Anyone who glimpses him can tell at a glance that he's left handed, presentig his right side forward to slim his profile along the wall as he advances.

The new guy has hardly shouted his warning to Sumi and fired off his shots before he's hit! Hahtavi makes a very brief, sharp involuntary noise as he's burned, the blaster bolt taking him soundly in the side of his chest under his raised right arm just behind his chest plate. He drops to one knee, the shock of the wound nearly knocking him to the floor. A suck of breath and then he's trying to fall back.

There's no cover in the hallway but further back, closer to where Karys is at the end of the hall by the security door, there's a cross passage and corners. Hahtavi starts to try to drop back to get some firing cover around one of those corners but he looks to still be in the fight, long as he's still on his feet. <"I'm hit! (fast breathing) Falling back to the cross passage to continue cover fire, over."> He sounds like he's having trouble getting his breath.

Sumi Kora

The warning heralds a reaction from Sumi who abandons her former opponent to take a stun shot from a member of the team. More threats filter in, and everything begins to get very complicated. So simplifying the situation was one lesson Sumi had not forgotten from her former Alor, and the tool for simplifying this manifested with the calm cast of her cape and sudden extension of the stun baton with a loud,

SNAP.

Immediately, Sumi twists the device, spinning up a charge from its serrated end that arcs with blue electricity. The man rising back up is missed, partly because Sumi stumbles in all the shuffle and sparks the edge of her weapon off the bulkhead. When Sumi adjusts though, she strikes the soldier mid-torso, and ejects them from a state of consciousness with a sudden concussive explosion of electricity and shattering plastoid. They /literally/ fly down the hall and clatter against another wall some ten meters away.

Only by chance does Sumi notice a great collection of surveillance equipment angled toward them from the direction she just dismissed that trooper to. Sumi marks the concern in her HUD, transmitting it to the others while twisting about and moving toward one of the leaders attacking her team.

Baseball sliding, she strikes their knee with a complicated swing, bringing them down and preventing them from attacking. Sumi is back up on her feet then, squaring off with the leader and separating them with the rise of one arm, the blue hue of electricity hissing between them, and his reflection in her silver mirror-like visor.

Karys

Red leader laughs a bit at Hadrix and growls out his commands moments before Sumi slams up against him and sends him back on his ass, leaving him dazed as he drops his blaster to the ground. He mutters some profanity at her but he's not getting up, thats for sure. There are sounds of movement further in and a voice rings out over the comes and alarms. <"All cadets report to the armory to receive your issued rifles and riot gear."> The facility is going to bare its teeth here very shortly in every form that it can muster.

The security officer goes down thanks to Zelo's shot and Karys is entering the room and sliding her blaster away when a shot from down the hall slams into her back and she makes and audible cry of pain.

Gritting her teeth she lowers quickly and snatching up the security card off the body beside her she hurries to the interface, leaning heavily against it as she gains access without need of hacking, quickly going through the logs and inputing the ident of the soul they are trying to find.

<"Nearly have the info, waiting for the database to sort and spit out. I see you, Alor. We are going to have more incoming if we do not get out soon.>" Pause and everyone can hear the dismay in her voice. <"Our target is not here. He was recently moved to Zeta Zero Nine as of a month ago. Time to exfil!"> The information gotten, she pushes back and begins to come out of the room.

Rathe Kora

Blaster fire goes both ways, and Rathe hears the strike into Karys. He starts turning for her, his mouth opening to shout her name and call for covering fire. But then Karys is not the only one, he can hear her working on her end of the mission. Rathe grits his teeth, if he interrupts her now he is likely to be shot. By Karys. Rathe glances over everyone's IFF readouts on his HUD.

Terek has fallen back, Rathe heard Eirik's cry for a medic. But the newcomer Hahtavi has come forwards, and he's slightly worse off by the readouts and Rathe's look test. Rathe pulls him to the side, his vox opening to local speaker. <"Hold still. Pinch and sting, and numbness incoming."> Rathe doesn't ask permission, he medically stabs a hypo-syringe into the wound. A mixture of bacta, antibiotics, and painkillers going in first. Next is the bactapatch itself, and the temporary armor sealant. <<"Terek, you're next, stay in cover Brother. Then Karys. Then Eirik.">> Rathe is listing off the most wounded to least in that order. Maybe it'll stay that way for once.

Hadrix Kora

Laughing instructor commanders.

'NINE-OH-FOUR. Watch your aim your pathetic sack of monkey-lizard dung! You've got twenty seven hours, do you want to spend THIRTY in the HOLE!?'

<"No...">

Unaware he's speaking out loud as he stalks forwad another pair of steps. Blaster bolts flying back and forth around him while the smaller form of his Alor rushes ahead to swing that stun-rod of hers into the current source of his ire. It's enough to shake him out of some of the blurring of past and present set before the eyes of the Al'Verde'Kora. But his watch remains on the man who has claimed Sumi's attention.

Rifle up, teeth gritting, lowered. The red pinlight in his visor flicking to 'Little Sumi' and the man. Then Karys issuing the egress order. A hard rush of a breath blasting static through his externals. The explosion from the barrel of the monstrous rifle forces him back hard enough to smash him back first into a wall, scraping along and leaving paint in his wake.

Zelo Parrai

Zelo takes up his position in the left hall, covering while the mission's getting done in the security office. Just before Karys disappeared from view, she'd been followed by a blaster bolt, and she wasn't the only one. In only a few seconds, half their number have taken hits and Zelo's adrenaline gland is going to work. He quickly lines up a shot and drops one of the instructors, but a hitch in his exhale throws the second wide. As Rathe moves down the hall to start doing what he does so well, Zelo calls in the direction of the office, <"Karys, I'm on your right. Let me know when we're moving and I'll cover. Of the two of us, I'm fresh for some plasma, yeah?">

He tries to open his ears wider, despite the chaos and fire on both sides, listening for the sound of impending footfalls. The Nautolan's got a bad feeling about this.

Terek Rosol

Terek's wound is still bleeding, and it's making his fire ineffective. Maybe he should talk to Hadrix about getting some better armor if he's going to be on the front lines all the time...If he walks away from this one.

He leans over the cover he's behind and fires off several shots, trying to peg a few shots on one of the stormtroopers, but his shots are all wide and really at this point it's more along the lines of covering fire than anything else at this point, "Why won't you bastards just die!" He calls out at the stormtroopers.

He makes another mental note to buy some grenades somewhere. A thermal detonator would have made quick work of these guys.

Eirik

Eirik moves to take another position raising up his Carbine. <<"I'm going after the next target.">> Eirik calls and responds to Rathe. <<"Copy that. Take care if those worse off than me.">> He says firing off the bolts that hit their mark closely grouped into the instructors chest dropping him. <<"One more down. You good Terek?">> He calls out.

Hahtavi

Hahtavi falls back down the hallway, still shooting and gets off a shot before he's at the corner. But he misses again, kriff! That's what you get for using an unfamiliar rifle, dummy!

A hand reaches out and pulls him back around and before he can try to suddenly use his rifle butt to slam Rathe in the face, Hahtavi realizes it's a fellow Mandalorian who's grabbed him. A curt nod of acknowledgement. Rathe's stabbed him and tends to his blaster wound in his side and the new guy holds his place, rifle ready while their medic does his work.

Soon as Rathe is done with him and starts to move, Hahtavi toggles his com, <"Thanks."> It's all they have time for - there's a fight on! A cautious breath to test his side, then he's back down on one knee with rifle up, looking for a new targer around the corner of the cross passage. Still hurt'n, but not so bad. He can ignore it for now. GTFO of here sounds good to Hahtavi when he hears the com chatter. He helps cover his team's exfil, ready to leapfrog once Karys and anyone else behind him move.

Sumi Kora

<<"Get everyone out.">> Sumi says in response to Hadrix, winded from three swings that find air. The passing of her baton is not filled with silence, but the hungry growl of the weapon threatening to shatter the leader should he make one wrong step. Sumi has forced some distance between them but she shows little regard for her safety staying out in the open. It seems to be her mad plan at least until the rest of the team gets out.

She stays centered on her opponent for now, still calm and put together: Two soldiers staring each other down, the kill on both their minds. She twists and moves back with a loud rustle of her cape. Shots intended for her come close, enough that she ducks her head from reflex and starts to laugh, the sound of it conveyed over her helm. <"We are in the middle of it now, boys; hahahaha!">

She motions for the Leader to come to her, trusting implicitly that those of her squad still shooting whilst advancing back out the way they came, to drop those troopers still eager to shoot her down.

Rathe Kora

<<"Aren't you like, made of plasma?">> Rathe casually asks Zelo. He knows better, but it helped him focus his mind for a moment. He's considering getting to Terek and Eirik now. Hahtavi gets a fist thumping on the top of his shoulder. Approval from the galaxy's arguably best, and crabbiest War Medic. He hesitates at Sumi's order, and looks back to Karys. Then back to Terek. <<"Terek, you can boost yourself out, I -will- come back and get you if that's the case.">>

Karys asks for a lift. <<"You were getting one even if you protested. We need you for the next mission.">> Rathe takes half a moment for a Keldabe Kiss, then grabs Karys before she can change her damned mind. His rockets flare to life and he's running them up, out, and arcing them for the Taylir. <"You fire her up and get her ready to fly over, I'll take care of manning the ramp."> Once he lands, he's smacking the entry codes so she can focus on boarding and getting her wounded self to the bridge. <<"As you all come in, temporary med bay in the Cargo hold. Who are we missing, head count!"> Rathe is going to stand on the ramp for this, because it's useful... and cool.

Hadrix Kora

<<"Copy.">>

Hadrix acknowledges as he continues to move towards the hole they opened to enter, <<"You heart her, on the bounce - any too injured to move quick with another. Wounded have exfil priority. Take your shots and move.">> growled out over comms while he waits for the others. Sumi's may be the last boots on the ground, his after the rest; Get everyone out.

One hand reaching for one of the silver spheres on his belt. Could give a goodbye present. But there are children here. Maybe not real children anymore. Still.

<<Hahtavi. Hook on.">> jets priming and coughing in preparation for exit, <<"Terek...">> left arm coming up and his ascender line fires to wrap around the cathar, <<"Hold on.">> the line going taught as he prepares to boost and take other with him once they're ready. His entire form is tense, a whirlwind of fury, regrets. A wish to remain and kill... kill... kill. That old beast welling up and straining at the chains.

Come on. We haven't been out in -so- long. Let go. See red.

<<"Sumi'alor. Clearing out.">>

No... It's time to come out.

Zelo Parrai

Zelo nods in return, following his sponsor's lead and heading towards the incursion point for exfil. His rifle remains at the ready for any sign of enemy, but there is only one in sight, and he's so tied up with Sumi that any attempt to help would likely look like intentional friendly fire. He turns away and backs down the hall, watching the direction of the security office while he expects the rush of recruits at any point to come. He toggles his E-11 to stun and waits, but nothing comes. Finally, they're at the bombsight and he looks up at the hole - it's taller from the inside, or that's how it feels. He tentatively lowers the gun and swings it to his back as Mandalorians begin rocketing and otherwise ascending out of the facility. Behind him, he hears the snap of a stun baton, but his focus is on this hole. He eyes the nearby wall and the rim of the hole. Maybe he can dyno this one...

Zelo takes a few deep breaths and sprints at the wall as hard as he can. Leaping forward, he raises his foot to meet the wall and braces to push off at the right moment. Launching from the wall, he continues his trajectory upwards, further, closer, higher. His gauntlets reach out, the lanky Nautolan fully extended and looking as though he may be swimming through the toxic air... But then he comes up short. Just by an inch. Maybe two. Just as majestically, he continues to soar through the air until he pancakes flat on the duracrete floor of the facility. He pushes to his feet, the wind knocked out of him, and looks to Sumi while dusting off his armor. <"Can I, uh... Get a lift?">

<"No..."> everything he hates beneath his feet. No time. When all is ready his jets engage to lift himself, Hahtavi and Terek with him, back into the poison atmosphere of the world outside.

Terek Rosol

Terek's jetpack may have taken a bit of damage after the fight as well, because his attempts to use it are met with...Nothing. No thrust.

Hobbling on his hurt leg, he comes over comms, a bit sheepish, <"Guys uh. My jetpack's dead. I'm gonna need some help getting up there."> He then sighs heavily. How embarassing.

At least he's not covered in bantha dung or something worse, though. There's always something worse. Gotta look on the bright side.

Eirik

Eirik starts falling back with the rest of the squad. <<"Copy that I'm right behind you guys.">> He says over the coms he fires off a couple more shots. <<"I'll need a lift myself. But who's wounded worse?">> Eirik come to the others. <<"Alright Terek I'm on your 6 buddy.">> He says closing the gap and looking to Hahtavi. <<You ok Hahtavi?">> Than his eyes fall on the Alor. <<"Were in great hands clearly!">> Eirik laughs.

Hahtavi

When those behind him have passed, Hahtavi moves up to join the others at the hole. His rifle is still ready, covering their Six while folk start getting out. How the hell he's going to get his arse up through that hole with nothing to climb up, no idea, but he tries when it's his turn. <"No good.">

Then he's got his orders from Hadrix, <"Copy that."> At once Hahtavi uses and attachment point from his armor to hook onto Hadrix's kit as instructed for a lift up back to the roof. Next thing he knows he's janked up and out like a fish on a line! But hey, he's got both hands on his rifle, ready to go when his boots touch down again! Pain isn't so bad when you have an adrenline junkie high and been stabbed by your medic!

Good thing for his rebreather. The air might smell worse than the funny noises Sumi's jetpack makes. Soon as he's touched down, Hahtavi unclips from Hadrix, <"Thanks for the lift!"> Thanks also to Rathe, Hahtavi can even haul buttocks pretty well up the ramp. Then he goes back down on one knee and lifts his rifle to cover Sumi while she too catches up to board their craft. <<"Ret'urcye mhi, Huttsuckers!">>

Sumi Kora

It's not clear what Sumi does to the leader, only that their fight moved out of view, and the angry growl of her weapon made several connections before the century old soldier was briskly walking back down the corridor to join her companions. When she arrived and Hadrix announced they were clearing out, Sumi was greeted by Zelo asking for a lift up. Her arm comes up and she keys the bracer holo-graphic control to max out the output of rocketpack before she motioned Zelo closer. <"Hold yourself close to me, hands hooked to the collar of my cuirass."> She patted the collar with one hand then widened her arms.

Once secured, her rocketpack fired up with a roar, and other noises, taking them airborne and shooting them like a bullet from the facility and into the air.

Sumi lands near the ship, releasing Zelo and nodding, before moving her up the ramp not even sparing a look back.

<"Who's hungry?"> She asks, as the ramp begins to close.
