Mandalorians follow leads to a secret base to continue the trail

OOC Date: June 7, 2022
Location: Space near the Corporate Sector
Participants: Sumi Kora, Valeska Kora, Hahtavi Kora, Raissa Taivu, Nix and Hadrix Kora as GM Mandalorians Clan Kora

Data cores on the Frigate assaulted and rendered to vacuum so brutally only days ago yielded information better than what could have been dragged from survivors, had there been any. Dead too soon to purge their jump coordinates, their transport point results in finding a large asteroid hung in space, stabilized and motionless in the eternal night of space. Illuminated, partially, by light reflected from the blue and yellow gases of a nebula that stands like a guardian over its far smaller form.

The Kora flagship joined by support cruiser Kyr'am ra Kote emerging from hyperspace were 'greeted' by only a half-squadron of patrol craft whose challenges were met by withering fire from the Gozanti and missile barrage from the Marauder. Turbolaser fire levied against the asteroid pitted its surface, slagging defense turrets and severing power conduits and anti-fighter cannons cleared a path for the mouth of the crater that served as the entrance to the docking bay of the facility.

Launching the Ro'Chur Jung with boarding compliment through the mag-con shields of the bay, piloted by Hadrix, the LAAT roars into a space filling with panicked figures with hand blasters and hastily powering security droids. Shields absorbing the small arms fire, the ship rotates and repulsors towards a hangar exit while Al'Verde Kora speaks.

<<"As soon as the doors open we need to move, scans and data collected at the frigate have rough layout data. Target is a Rodian, identifiable as Vutti Jahan, location he should be hiding is marked. Move fast, even if they are closing behind us, or we'll get bogged down. The dropship is leaving once we're deployed and will be moving to a docking port close to our position. Smash and move, don't get bogged down. Collect the target and we'll figure out exfil from there.">> One of the side hatches of the LAAT rattles and emits a heavy CLUNK while Mir swaps spots with the big man who joins the others. Moments later the bay lights go red and the hatch opens to the port side ball turret sweeping to suppress defenders. The port shields drop and the big man leaps out, calling <<"Deploy! DEPLOY!">> and the mayhem begins

Rummaging around in her many, many pouches and pockets, Valeska is growing more and more irritable. It can't be seen due to the helmet but it can certainly be heard in her vocoder-warped voice. <<"Seriously? I thought I had, like three more powercells left. I know I didn't finish school, but I /can/ count.">> The transport is coming up to where they need to be. She can tell because Hadrix is summarizing. A jerk of her hand gets her tracker ready and she grumps. <<"Screw it, I'll improvise, yeah?">>

Deploy! Deploy! Don't gotta tell her twice, but it helps. Running down the red-lit ramp, she leaps out of the transport and into the fray

Along for the ride and ready to rock, Hahtavi listens to their final brief before landing. He holds to a grip bar with boots maglocked to the deck until they are down. <<"Bes'uliik copies. Keep moving, no bogging.">>

As soon as Mir and Hadrix are changing places, maglocks are released and Haht moves into position ready to leap out as soon as Hadrix gives them the go. Galaar is clipped to his tactical rig, bucket on. A quick glance to check on Nix as their newest member. Then Hadrix is telling them to GO and he starts moving.

Boots hit the Frigate's hangar deck with a bang that's hardly heard with all the firing going on. Hahtavi starts hustling for cover but seeing there are also droids, he flips his satchel open to access his cryo grenades as he runs.

Nix preps her slug thrower and checks a few things on the rifle as she listens to the mission. She repeats it in her head a few times and makes a note of it in her visor view. Though her eyes look over to Valeska and she tilts her head a little. <<"I'll cover you if you run out.">> She states simply to the other. She glances over to Hahtavi and nods her helmetted head.

Deploy? Yes. She moves like the fiery little shorty she is and she leaps out landing easily close to Valeska and she lifts up her gun and starts to move. The sounds of the firing making her scan quickly and move to cover Valeska, gun up but not yet firing. She moves for cover.

Doctor Taivu was here and when the drop ship got close enough the older woman jumped out and followed along after the other Mandalorians. Her blaster out and at the ready in case they run into any trouble, which is probably going to happen. She's also here to patch up any booboos that might happen!

SNAP!

Then a whirling noise as the baton is generated, followed by another:

SNAP

A baton held by Sumi Kora crackles hungrily with body-paralyzing 'STOP RESISTING' type of energy. There should have been a hum as it activates and holds and idle, but it crackles and pops, indicative of the weapon being set to maximum 'prejudice'. The blue arcs of electricity reflect off the blue-plated beskar'gam that Sumi wears, and as she drags it down to her side to await its use, it leaves half her frame colored in its aura.

<<"I will do my best to form a path that we may move quickly through. Once the fighting starts, I may get..">> The sound of Sumi smiling, <<"..distracted.">>

Split, destabilized, beams erupting from Al'Verde Kora's shot-blaster signals his landing, beskar shod boots kicking out sparks and biting into durasteel deck plates as he begins to charge. Return fire from a pair of Corp-Sector security droids bouncing off of the big man's plates blending with the sound of the specialized blaster ratcheting another plasma shell to the firing chamber. The body of the officially uniformed, and armored, troop in face-plated armor skidding across the deck and out of the way.

<<"Copy Alor, don't fall too far behind, Mesh'la'Sumi">> helmet turned towards the Chief for the moment.

The path into the corridor is thick with enemies. Thick with the fleeing forms. The LAAT is already lifting once everyone is out, ball turrets sweeping pulse beams to cover the rear of the assault squadron and its own retreat towards the mag-con field. Thunder rumbles through the walls and floor, the hammering by the Old and Busted shaking the entire base for a moment with either the impact of missiles or concentrated turbolaser fire.

Battledroids and general security attempt to form up up the way, trying to block the Mandalorian advance.

Running with the pack has become Valeska's favourite part of any mission or op. That build of adrenaline as they charge forward. It's a drug that she might be addicted to at this point, but Valeska always was an adrenaline junkie even before meeting the Kora. In the end, it's what kept her in perpatual trouble.

Now? Well, now it's much the same except honed. Focused and trained. Discipline might not be too far down the line.

But not today. Today she sees a group of pins lined up in a cluster and, since she needs to conserve ammo anyways... <<"Gonna get us an opening, yeah?">> She says to Nix: the grin almost burning a hole through her helmet. <<"Try to keep up!">>

And off she goes! Cooking a frag grenade then heaving it ahead of her with a BOOM! that sends the group of enemies splitting away. And making a nice path to bolt through.

Hadrix said BOOGIE and not to bog down. The ramikad takes those orders to heart. Even though there's little Hahtavi would rather do than wreck osik and blow up droids, side by side with Wrecking-Ball-Sumi, he instead fires away and utilizes the hole Valeska just opened up a bit.

Boots leave the hangar deck and Haht's jetpack fires off to lift him just barely high enough to clear the line, flashing past probably faster than he could run. And then he's through and on the other side...

Faath stays behind cover while she watches the grenade go off and her brow lifts as the enemies part. Then Valeska is off and she stands up. There is a little tilt of her head and then she watches Hahtavi as well. The young woman nods her head and she lifts her rifle and it goes off. The security guard is missed which makes her eyes narrow as she notices the ranks of the enemies close. She cusses quietly as she gets back behind cover and growls through the mic to all those on the mission.

Rai's not a runner really and apparently she can't shoot worth a crap either. Which is demonstrated as she tries to pick off a few before running through the picket line. Where she unceremoniously pin-balls off someone and doesn't get through. "Oh come on!" she grumbles.

Sumi hitting the decking is a loud noise, so too is the charging Mando who focuses more on her swing than her charge. Three separate targets see the stars upon making connection with her baton, but the line closes up and Sumi laughs, her mic hot so that they hear it.

<"HAhahahaha! Yes.. STAND IN MY WAY!-- EEEE!"> She runs right at them, losing her footing when shots strike out, connecting with each leg, but serving to yield no damage beyond their kinetic concussion. They make a PLINK-PLANK noise, and the Mando is still charging at them.

"Stop them! Somebody stop them!" "Get clear!" "By the Gods! J'eonzy! No!"

Bodies crackling with ozone reeking stun energy hurtling from the main line, one of the visored figures pointing, trying to direct fire - aiming more for those they've held back and a single pot shot being aimed for the back of one of those who had managed to get past. Doing their best to stay regimented in the face of the blitz. With the Mandalorian woman among them wrecking havoc.

And then scrambling when the large, obsidian purple coloured, brute bodily throws his shoulder into their midst and send a trio sprawling along the deck, leaving a gap in the line wide enough to let others through should they make the attempt.

<<"Path updating, front three keep pushing. Sumi, you have the rearguard. Signal if assistance is required.">>

The asteroid shakes again and alarms blare in the corridors. Voices echo and orders being shouted mix with the klaxons and the sounds of the assault reverberating through the stone and durasteel surrounding. Behind, in the hangar a chorus of horrified screams lifts and the bulkhead behind Raisa, Nix and Sumi slams shut seconds after a burning fightercraft tumbles through the mag-con, out of control. Exploding and exposing the docking bay to vacuum - putting a wall at the backs of the rear-three, the indicated path ahead and possible side-tracks as the corridor splits off to other sections of the base.

They went and split the party. What a bunch of mad lads!

On the other side of the skirmish, Valeska half-skids to a stop; her momentumn not quite dying completely as she turns around to find not all of her group made it through. She is about to run back and assist when orders come down for them to proceed. There is a blink of hesitation. Don't leave them behind....

But they're not alone.

<<"Copy, Commander.">> A scrape of her boots against the metal plated flooring and she's running with Hadrix and Hahtavi; yanking out her tracker from over her shoulder and blasting a hole for her to slip through.

His effectiveness in clearing a path wasn't what he'd hoped for but Hahtavi got through. A bolt flies past close by but misses him. His boots hit the deck plates of the corridor and following Valeska, Hahtavi runs after her. There are /more/ battle droids in this corridor.

A quick glance behind him shows Hahtavi that only half their group has gotten past the initial line. He doesn't stop or slow down just /yet/ but he does pull an ion grenade, <<"Ion Out! Going to try to help clear the corridor for those right behind me!">>

The iron grenade is thrown and it's a fair toss, landing amid the thickest clot of droids in the hallway. The miniature EMP goes off with a BANG! Droids closest to it fritz out, stalling where they were.

Hadrix said keep moving. Like Val, Haht hesitates and doesn't like leaving anyone behind - but Sumi's back there and she can take care of things. So he keeps going, <<"Affirmative, still moving, over!">>

Faath was hiding but then she stares at her sizzling left leg. Her eyes narrow slowly and she watches the smoke billow off her as Hahtavi's Ion goes out. Nix slowly gets up onto that knee and aims. The shot goes off and hit back at the Station Security and she stands up and snarls.

She gives Sumi and Raissa a quick nod of her head before she takes off rushing between the opening of the guard. The tiny Mando is able to zip by using a spin and rude hand gesture. She slides to a stop and finds cover to help the others past the first line.

Raissa doesn't speak Mando'a very well. So when people are shouting in it she has no clue what is happening! FUN! She takes a few more pot shots at the station security, finally grazing one and then she runs as hard as she can. "Outta the way nerf herder!" she schreeches as she runs past one!

Sumi runs forward with heavy steps, swinging her baton as she goes and clearing a path to the other side so she can fulfill the call for rear guard. She takes two down, missing a third and wiping out, yet achieving her goal of reaching the 'other side' through a small gap. The heavy Mando slides across the flooring, creating sparks, until she's able to press back up and come to a skidding stop. With rear guard secure, Sumi activates her wrist shield and holds it up, her other hand using the baton to gesture that they follow. <"COME ON NOW!">

Body skidding alongside Valeska's feet for a meter.

Droids shaking and rattling with ion energy rolling over their frames. Tumbling to the ground amidst the fire now chasing the mandalorians heading further into the asteroid facility. One of those who had turned to fire after Hahtavi quite literally bursting into thirds when close range shot-blaster fire cores through their midsection.

Droids turn to fire, station guards attempt to contain the second three - with one taking a slug wound and others blasted by Raissa's heavy pistol dropping back against the wall. Sumi's rampage following the other's short fusillade of weaponsfire sowing such confusion that only the pair clad in heavy armor can keep track enough to train weapons on the blue armored form in passing to criss-cross shots just behind her.

Rounding corners and descending another length of corridor with blast doors only partially lowered at points, the spearhead trio see the only functional set of blast doors ahead, beginning to close and a pair of heavily armed guards and a trio of battle droids between them emerging and leveling and voices call out in several languages for the approaching figures to halt.

Valeska is stil young and spry. These bones -- ninty-nine percent of them au naturale! -- still have so much pep in them. So much vigor. Without the ravages of time and decades of soldiering, running is something Valeska finds she is rather good at.

The other thing she is good at, apparently, is making holes where holes were not.

Keeping up with the pair of MandoMen in Warmaster and Siege armour both, Valeska's boots making satisfying TROMP TROMP TROMP's like the beat of a very enthusiastic drum. Tracker slung on her shoulder again, she reaches blindly to the strap of grenades; grabbing for her ion grenade by touch alone. <<"Lighting them up, yeah?">> That's a proper battlefield warning, right?

The button smashed under a thumb and the cylinder is thrown ahead, erupting in an explosion of droid-scrapping, ionized sparks and electricity. The three droids acting as an effective wall suddenly fail at their task; wires fried and servors smoking. Vaulting over one of the droids on the pivot of one hand, Valeska clears the barricade and slips through the blast door as it continues to close in.

Still keeping up with Valeska, Hahtavi sees her pull an ion grenade and throw it this time so he doesn't pull another one himself. He lifts his rifle and slows just enough to take two shots, hitting one of the guards at the closing blast door soundly, but not quite killing him. The second shot while moving misses and then when Hahtavi tries to run on through, he trips on an outflung arm or weapon of one of the fallen battle droids.

The ramikad HITS the decking in an unexpected BANG, beskar'gam loud when that much weight hits the steel grating. <<"Osik!">>

Thankfully his rifle is on a tactical rig so Haht doesn't loose it but he didn't get his shebs through that closing blast door either. He rolls to try to both get his ass up and to try to avoid being shot - both!

Meanwhile, Valeska lept through as graceful as a gazelle.

On the other hand, while also young, Nix is borked. Her bones are all natural and all stupid. Joints aren't jointing and running is a chore. She takes a deep breath and there is a quick nod of her head to Sumi. She gets up to her feet again as she pushes up and turns, rushing towards the next group of people. Her rifle is lifted and she shoots which goes wide.

<<"I hope you get metal splinters under your nails!">> The woman hisses as she passes the guards. She wants to stay and fight and stab but she's following the directive.

She's not graceful. She's like a tiny wrecking ball of growly anger but she's looking around at the walls they are running past trying to get a plan to jet faster a head.

Rai's not having luck with the running past the second group. She does manage to shoot one of the station security guard though and she takes that as a win for the moment. There's another futile try at pushing through the throng of people and she has to growl at someone instead of headbutting them!

Sumi shares a moment with Nix, nodding, before turning as they move deeper into the second section. With elite guards training their flanks, Sumi draws their attention by piercing one with a surprise deployment of a wrist laser that punches through one elite guard's chest piece, bursting out the back in a sudden flash of crimson and misty pulverized blood.

Sumi's attention goes to the other flank, warding the elite guard back with two heavy swings of the huge baton. Each pass has him seeing the crackling energy swirling around a serrated mace pass right before his face. <"Just a bit closer!"> Sumi beckons, giggling as she back tracks.

It's in this moment that Sumi catches up to Raissa, and helps the other Mando'ade forward by brute strength carrying her back so that any hate and discontent aimed at Raissa, is simultaneously aimed at Sumi, too!

Shot-blaster transferred to the left hand, a blade extending and humming to life and slamming into the chestplate of the guard wounded by Hahtavi, Hadrix continues towards the closing panel, a pair of wild swings at the guard opposite deflected by their blaster rifle. Deflecting off of the side of the hatchway and half roll-stepping to keep his balance once through.

Valeska and Al'Verde Kora finding themselves in a room, that doesn't quite look like a room. The blast doors coming in were doubled and only the inner of the two appeared to be sealing before a fist slammed against a switch arrests it.

The chamber itself is well furnished, decadently appointed. Another pair of heavy guards standing in the center where three flight chairs set and matching command consoles are rising from the floor before them. The walls have sealed blast shields over what look like they would be view ports and the hatches on the far side from where the Mandalorians entered are rounded, more like a shuttle's bulkheads. Seated behind the main console a portly rodian in ornate robe over flashy, tailored, suit. Multifaceted eyes somehow looking buggier at the entrance of the Mandalorians, squawking out something and pointing a suction cup tipped finger before they open fire with repeaters aimed for Valeska and Hadrix.

Outside the chamber the guard whom had fended off vibrodagger attack stutter steps backwards, into the chamber, aiming a shot for the fallen Hahtavi, barking out something that sounds like it ends with 'Sleemo' - the odd angle and close quarter giving them a hell of a time with aiming,

Past the second blocking force and wheeling down the long corridor the sight of the spearhead's passage is evident. Blaster marks on wall and floor, dead guards with the one tryin to get a shot on Hahtavi and a trio of fried battle droids tumbling to the ground from passage of one and the fall of another.

In the next room, Valeska truly does skid to a stop this time as they come faced with a pair of bigger threats and a rather well-off Rodian. Rotund and robed. She gets all of a few seconds to assess this new setting when the order is given. She doesn't understand Rodese, but she really doesn't need to. Context is key here and when the guards obey by opening fire, her suspicions are proven true. Too true.

A hit to her dominant arm ushers a biting curse in Bothan. Something about the Rodian's mother and her affinity for shaved Wookiees. Searing pain ripping up her right arm renders her aim with the tracker unreliable at best. No matter. She has other plans.

Painfully, she grips the baton hanging from her hip and pulls it free, a jerk of her arm activating it in a surge of pissed off electricity. <<"Let's dance, fat man.">> And off she goes, rushing forward with intent of breaking past the guard. Unless they fall before she gets there.

It's just one of those days when things aren't going right. Hahtavi's down but unhurt. He rolls and evades getting shot, continuing his roll to get back up onto his feet. There's a quick step to keep his balance, then he's shooting at the guard by the frozen blast door that's still partly open. The shot catches the guard squarely but yet again doesn't drop his quarry.

There is a distinct SNARL that comes through his helmet's vocoder before Haht growls, <"Shabla die already! Hutt humper!">

Not that they understand Mando'a.

The small mando is getting a little frustrated and she remembers something. She's not really trained on how to use her Rocket pack but how hard can this be. She squares up like a bull ready to charge and she aims her head and then lights it. She says the Mando version of LEEEEROOOY JENNNKINS! Nix is now a rocket. She speeds past people and aims for the Elite guard arms out but she misses.

There is a grunt as she is spun and she lands hard on her back. She glances up to the Elite and waves her hand a little but at least he is no longer armed. Though she is prone on the ground.

Weeeeeee! Raissa gets carried by Sumi a bit and the woman doesn't argue or try to wiggle away. She was being moved and it was past where they needed to be. "Thank you." she dips a nod to the Alor Kora and then tries to figure out where she's needed. Oh look, there's someone that looks like they need to be tied up. And not in the good way! She aims her whipcord at them and...it misses. Hitting the wall behind them, "Oh son..." she growls.

Sumi releases Raissa in a whirlwind of motion, spinning around the Mandalorian and firing another wrist shot that lances the elite guard near Hahtavi. The shot is fatal, ending the life of the guard; yet their body has not even fallen to the ground before Sumi has taken on a heavy run toward Valeska and the foeman near her. They raise their arm to release a potentially fatal shot just as Sumi arrives from a flank, smashing the electric mace against the meat of their side and releasing the concussive kinetic energy to send the warrior flying away from the ladies in a physics defying feat that concludes with the organic smashing against the bulkhead and clattering into a heap of disappointment on the ground.

Sumi rolls her shoulders and turns back toward the rear, hyping herself up to take on more foe to protect her comrades.

Chaos outside, Valeska threating within the Rodian in fancy attire's hands go up and his tubular mouth flops and flexes with each word he is shouting, hands flicking at keys on his control panel - hatches behind, above and below snapping shut. A fist is shaken and pointed to the Mandalorians, speaking quickly before the room begins to rumble.

The other guard hits the floor when Hadrix's wrist blade retracts and a hissing sound precedes the flames that envelope the poor sot, melting plastoid and heating durasteel to glowing. Rolling to put himself out and screaming all the while with smoke pouring off of his body, rising quickly and being whisked away by air filtration systems. Even with the fire out, that one remains on the ground, shaking some from the injuries inflicted by the extreme heat.

The guards all down, and all within the chamber, the hatch shuts and the rodian's tube mouth droops, making a "OoooooOOOOoooo..." sound before the chamber heaves like a massive turbolift and pressure threatens to pull everyone down a moment before inertial dampeners kick in. Lights indicating ascension begin to march from ceiling to floor and readouts built into the walls begin showing a travel path of the room with six mandalorians half a guard and a green skinned rodian heading towards an indicator for exiting asteroid itself.

<<"Sumi.">> Sana's voice over comms, <<"We see your signals about to exit the base.">>

The martial threats are out of commission. That's putting it lightly. One was figuratively sent to the moon (which one? all of them) and another has been rendered a still-breathing bucket of extra crispy recipe. For her part, Valeska is seeing red and tromping up towards Fato Rodio with a song in her heart.

That song sounds an awful like BZZZZZBZZZBZZZZ of her stun baton humming in her hand. And she's about to play her Summer Mix Tape for this fool. On repeat.

This is halted when the entire room seals itself and lurches, causing her to stagger a little but catching herself with arms instinctively expanding outwards. Gravity pulls her downwards as the escape ship they have found themselves on starts to float upwards and Valeska looks quickly over to the others; T-visor canting with an unspoken question.

On his feet and moving, Hahtavi has to suddenly brace himself as the whole compartment starts to move. He can feel the momentum building, making him heavier with G. The Galaar comes up, this Kora flipping the toggle from kill to stun. This time through his helmet's vocoder, Hahtavi speaks Basic, <"You don't want to be fried meat, hands up and get your face on the floor! NOW!"> Plenty of pilots on board this thing to keep it from going anywhere they don't want.

Walking closer, Hahtavi counts down, <"Three, two.. one..."> All the while having his Galaar trained on the fat Rodian. If Fato Rodio gets himself down face first on the deck plates FAST enough, Haht doesn't shoot him.

But if the Rodian doesn't at once comply, Hahtavi just shoots him - on stun. No going for touching anything else, fek you!

There's probably the smell of plenty of burned meat that wafed in with them already anyway.

Nix gets up to her feet with a little shake out of her body. <<"My bones...">> She grumbles quietly while she shakes out her limbs as the bodies drop around her. She rushes quickly towards the group before the door closes. She moves up beside Valeska and lightly bumps her with her elbow.

She brushes off her suit and shakes her head a little cracking her neck. The combat medic feels the pressure pulling her down and she stands firm as the ship launches. Visor slowly turns towards the rodian. The blank stare of the Dreadfinder helm staring right towards the eyes of the creature.

Gloved hands lift up and fingers slowly clench into fists, bones popping and cracking into place while she slowly turns to face the Rodian but then Hahtavi is moving on Fato. She lets her fists drop and she stays where she is, right beside Valeska.

Sumi collapses the shield and mace, turning slightly and rocking when the vessel departs the installation and Sana informs them that they're on the move. Sumi's raspy voice replies, <<"Be ready to catch us, tal'ulik.">> Blood Wolf. Sumi leaves the apprehending part of the mission to the others, and spends the time coming off her adrenaline rush by rolling her shoulders and shaking her hands out. It'd been a good fight.

The Rodian just falls out of his seat, his hands had been up but he lays face down, booping and bleating in rodese. Hadrix simply steps up alongside Sumi, one hand lifting to rest on one of her pauldrons to give it a small shake while his visor'd gaze goes to the opening view ports showing stone and metal debris, slagged fighters and bodies both droid and organic floating from the damage inflicted on the asteroid.

Old and Busted appears on one side, angling to halt the craft's movement with tractor beams, long enough for the inboard systems of the escape craft to disengage on some automated protocol. The Kyr'ram ra Kote appearing on the other, mounting clamps on the ventral side of the craft moved to hook the vessel before both capital ships are on the move again.

<<"We have you, Alor'Sumi. We'll micro-jump before we get you out of that tin can.">> Sana first before, <<"Brace fhor jump in fhive... fhor... three, two, von.">> Mir's voice giving the alert and that precious time to prepare, or hold onto something, before the star elongate and spiral into the hyperspace tunnel, carrying the warriors away, with their prize.
