Pirate Relay Station goes off the air

OOC Date: September 23, 2018
Location: Planet Beta 296
Participants: Alexis Carew, Chewbacca, Devii, David Ironside, Jessika Pava, Poe Dameron (as Finn), Sapphira Tavers, The Resistance

Out of hyperspace and into normal space. Ahead is a green emerald of a planet encircled by asteroids. A pretty planet. A Pirate Planet. In the U-Wing troops ready themselves as the call goes out "Ten minutes. Ready your gear." Thrusters kick in and the ship accelerates in the direction of the planet. But first it must, as well as the escorts, must get through the asteroid belt. As well as any possible pirate fighters that may lurk hidden with in the jumble of space rocks. The pilot and co-pilot begin to ready the craft for both the evasive maneuvers and prepare the ship for atmosphere insertion. <<Escorts, check in? Be on your toes, the iron in those asteroids are clouding up my sensors.>>

In the back well to the front of the craft Doc Alex has double and triple checked her gear now she eyeballs the others. "Last chance to check your gear. Best make it snappy," she offers unsolicited advice.

Sapphira Yavok is here from the Intel side of the house, since their brainiacs were involved in the background of things. Military bureaucracy is still bureaucracy, and everybody wants one of theirs somewhere in on things. Mission creep, you get the idea. That's why Sapphira is the only one out of uniform, opting instead for her usual black armored fiber jumpsuit, with a pistol strapped to each hip and a few powerpacks tucked into various pockets. She's sitting in the last seat on the line, knitting for most of the flight. Only when the 10-minute notice goes out does she tuck her project away and do a quick check of her materials.

<<Black 3, reporting in.>> David replies casually, stuffed in the cockpit of a black X-Wing. <<You're right about those asteroids, let's clear them fast.>> He fiddles with a bunch of settings on his dash, the forward shields getting a boost allowing the craft to bump smaller asteroids away harmlessly.

Devii stands up from where she was checking over Lyn, her demolitions droid, through they might not need him she thought to bring him along just incase things got a llittle out of her knowledge range. With here were Nerf Herder Squad sans Nova who came down with another bout of space meazels, probably from all the old dudes she likes to make out with. She then moves about to inspect, "Like Doc said, double check your packs. We're aiming for LZ 2, it's close. the Secondary is a five click march, the first is two so we're not going to be bushwacking too much. Once the U-wing drops us they'll be taking off to cover us from above incase we need some big guns in the sky. Let's get in there, clear it out. I'm not interested in taking prisoners today." Kill 'em all. Only one out of uniform, pft... Chewie had been up at the front of the craft near the cockpit, but as the radio chatter begins, the massive wookiee just really cannot handle sitting still when combat is about to start. Leaning over one of the crew he glances out a window trying to get a look at the planet. 'Was that the one lz with the abundance of trees?' Chewie asks in his growling/barking tone, which is shortly translated into robotic basic.

Finn is seated in the back upon one of the crew benches with the restraining strap firmly fastened across his front. He's seen wearing the Resistance standard trooper armor and has a BlasTech EL-16HFE in a combat lock near him. In a thigh holster is a BlasTech EL-718 seated snugly and fastened with a safety. Finn has a neautral expression, combat drops aren't a new concept for him. Like anything affiliated with combat stress, it's the waiting for something bad to happen. When the order comes out to make ready, he stays seated. He knew to be ready before the operation began, so he just hooks his hands over the safety straps and waits for the flying to end and the fighting to begin. Wary eyes watch the other passengers, but he has nothing to add to what's going on around him.

Reversion from hyperspace to real space is like waking up. One minute Jessika is surrounded by a miasma she doesn't understand, and the next she's lucid, with all the details of what's around them rushing in. A quick check of her sensors shows two blips on radar: the troop U-Wing and another X-Wing in the mix. "Ali, extend sensors to maximum." Reaching over, she ensures that her snubfighter's deflector shields are operational, and then resettles her leather-gloved hand on the throttle, which she eases forward to match speed with the troop transport as they approach the asteroid belt. "Focus your scans on the asteroid belt, but keep an eye out on our six, too." It's not much to ask of a droid, who can multitask far better than she can. Jessika focuses on their approach, and toggles the button to transmit over their comm frequency. "Black Seven, reporting on. Port-side and ready for intercept."

Closer they get as the U-Wing pilot begins to dodge and weave around the larger asteroids. The ship bucking up and down, left and right as she does. The co-pilot monitors the systems as well as point out the larger chunks of space rocks to dodge. The ship rattles now and then as well as jolts as some of the smaller rocks are deflected off their shields.

Alex reaches out from her seat and grabs a rail that is near by "Gonna get sporty here folks," she says as she sways along with the movement of the ship.

Good thing Sapphira has since tucked away those metal knitting needles. One wrong jolt and those could have ended up in someone's eye! "It is," she respondes to the metallic voice that now charictarizes Chewbacca for those who don't speak Wookie. As the ship continues to buck and bump, the petite redhead strains to reach up and grab hold of a fabric handle dangling down, which she hangs her weight from in an attempt to keep herself from being bounced out of her seat. "You'll blend right in," she assures Chewie with a grin, looking down the line to see how everyone else is doing.

David is jolted upright in his seat, not from any space rocks banging on his shield, but the alarmed beeping of the astromech in the socket behind his comfy seat. "I see them too." he replies, following it up with a comm warning. <<Heads up, scanners are picking up two hostiles on approach. Designating Bandit 1 and 2.>> He immediately starts making adjustments, spreading the craft's deflector shields out evenly and opening it's trademark S-foils to attack position.

Devii glances to Chewie and holds onto a railing as the ship shakes and rattles as the pilot moves it through the astroid field. "Yup... should give us some cover. Them too, but I'd rather them have more objects in the way of hitting us that a clear shot any day. It might be a harder landing but I have faith in these pilots." She looks over to Sap a moment, chuckling at her comment, then to Finn. "Finn will be filling in for Platoon Sergeant Ul'datha who is busy on other duties. His word is god, got me knuckleheads?" SHe's saying that more to her Nerf Herders than Chewie or Sap. "I need two volunteers to man the door guns."

'I was thinking about climbing one of those trees right upon landing and sniping out of the tree top so those of you on the ground have more than just the ship as eyes in the sky' The wookiee tells Sappy from where he himself has decided to grab ahold of the loop hanging from the roof to stabilize himself, but it will probably have to get a bit more jumpy for Chewie to be bounced off his feet. Chewie reaches with his free hand to grab up his bowcaster, checking it to make sure its all ready to go before slinging it down on his front for quick access when th need arises.

Finn looks up when he hears his name uttered and focuses on the Lt in charge of the operation. Nodding his head quietly to show he acknowledged, he looks to the rest of the squad and takes a mental not on how many of them there are. Being a Stormtrooper, much of their training was based on accountability, which was an umbrella for accounting for your fire team, squad, or so on. Finn doesn't think it's necessary to add anything else to the Lt's orders. When the ship starts to buck, he's reminded briefly of his drop over Jakku and waiting for the personnel ramp to drop. It isn't the same setting, but the feeling was the same. He takes a calming breath and turns his gaze back to the front of the ship when Devii asks for turret gunner volunteers. Finn raises his hand to volunteer, and waits to be told to go ahead and take position.

An alert from her BB unit reports anomalies on the sensors that the astromech can't define. Jessika's attention wavers to her instrument panel, and keying a concentrated scan allows her to identify them herself. "Two Headhunters.." A second later, she picks up the encrypted broadcast that's shot down to the planet. Jessika transmits to the U-Wing again. "Ground force, be advised that one of those snubfighters sent an encrypted transmission down to that planet. They probably know we're coming." Pending some freak accident where that transmission never makes it to its destination, the proverbial bell has been rung, and whatever element of surprise they hoped to maintain has evaporated before they ever got close to the planet. "You can try some fancy talk over the net if you think that'll work?" There are pirate groups with X-Wings, after all. For that reason, Jessika delays opening her craft's s-foils until the Headhunters take action.

<<Roger that. Copy 2 Bandits. Mind taking care of them for us?>> The pilot replies over the radio "Uh, Lieutenant, I think they might know we are here." She informs Devii "At least the bandits do." She listens to the radio again <<Copy that, Black 3. I will advise the ground troops. We will slide a bit to the side and let you handle them.>> She tilts her head slightly and yells to the back "The ground also probably also know we are coming, Lieutenant." Now it's back to the flying and angling away from where the pirate fighters are coming in at. The asteroid belt is thinning and so the ship begins to settle down. "Atmo in 5," She calls back.

Alex looks between Devii and Finn before nodding "Got it." She answers. She grins up to the Wookie "Someday you will have to explain to me how something as large as you can climb trees so easily. It just don't make no sense." A grin is flashed to Chewie but she does wonder.

Sapphira makes eye contact with Devii and gives the woman a little finger-wave down the line. "As long as you've got a range of at least two klicks in you," Sapphira points out to the Wookie, lifting her face toward him again. "It'd be no good for anyone if you got yourself all nestled and nested up high somewhere only to lose sight of us because we press forward so fast it makes everyone's heads spin." As radios crackle about the baddies likely being aware of their presence, the liklihood of such an outcome becomes fairly dim. Another twist of the ship nearly lurches Sapphira out of her seat, and she holds with a red-knuckled grip to the oh-shit handle she's managed to wrap her little fingers around.

Devii nods again to Chewie, "Good Idea. If Kare was here we'd have a good sniper team between the two of you." She then looks to Finn and nods as well, "Finn, Dromond, on the door Cannons." Private Dromond was the Squads heavy weapons/repeater specialist. With the ship in the air he'd have a birds eyeview when it came to laying down some covering fire. A nod to sap, "As long as it's in your caster's range then there's no problem with it." She looks to the Pilots, "Then let's barrel it to LZ-2, yeah?" David Ironside (Dave) pages: I'm super tired so I'm gonna bow out after we take care of the Z-95s Looking down at Alex with a humored smirk. 'We have climbing claws that by species wide tradition we are only allowed to use for climbing trees, and if we ever use them in combat we are shunned and called a Mad Claws. That and we are relatively strong, so we don't have to work terribly hard at carrying our weight along the tree tops of Kashyyyk or...' He waves a shaggy arm toward a viewing port. 'Planets like this.'

Sapphira's concern on his being nestled up in the trees and not having a shot has the wookiee giving his friend a smirk. 'I can move faster through the trees than I can running on the ground. Wookiee's don't see the ground on Kashyyyk terribly often unless you're near a body of water.' Chewie takes in a deep breath and readies himself You paged David Ironside with 'That's fine. thank you for coming.'

Acknowledging came in the form of a nod, and Finn slapped the quick release on the harness keeping him seated. The straps fell from the buckle and he turned briefly to grab his blaster rifle from its locked position and throw its sling over his torso. He adjusted the weapon to rest against his lower side and out of the way. Crossing the brief distance to the starboard gunner position, Finn takes the heavy weapon and mounts it to the T&E swing arm so that it has a stable platform to fire from. Currently the arm is oriented within the craft, but when the bay doors open, he will re-orient the weapon to face outboard. He performs a functions check briefly, then gives the Lt a thumbs up to indicate he is ready to rock!

Ignoring the fact the pilot got her callsign wrong, Jessika changes her heading to put her X-Wing between the two Headhunters and the U-Wing streaking for the planet, seeking to gain entry into its atmosphere. Her hand briefly leaves the throttle once again, and a moment later her s-foils part, positioning her laser cannons in their attack formation. "Keep an eye out for any other transmissions sent down to the planet, Ali." In the meantime, Jessika makes the small, precise movements necessary to bring the enemy's fighter into the slowly pulsing targeting reticle that's both in front of her and jutting out from the side of her flight stick.

Her finger rests against the trigger, ready to squeeze, because both pulling and keeping it separate will screw up her shot and make it slower to boot. Not that she has to wait long. The rapid speeds the fighters operate at bring them within range of each other in no time, and Jessika waits for her opportunity. As soon as the reticle is centered and flashing rapidly, she fires. The spatter of laser cannon fire pops the enemy fighter's shields and punches through its fuselage. Dark vapor trailing from it looks like smoke to her, but it's difficult to say. "This is Seven. Bandit Two heavily damaged."

"LZ 2 it is, Ma-am," The pilot replies as the co-pilot begins calling up the nav data for LZ 2. "Entering atmo now. LZ two in 2 minutes." She calls back as the doors are released from the locks so they can be opened now that they are in Atmo. Heavy clunks are heard through the ship as this is done but the pilot lets them know anyway "Doors are free to open. I'll come in fast and drop you off then take off and circle the area. Call if needed." She tells Devii. As they near the co-pilot calls to the back "I have two tangos moving out from the compound. Not sure where they are headed for at this time. That's all I've been able to see so far." As Jess reports in <<Copy that Black Seven. Thanks. Stay on him. We will be most at risk as we land.>>

Alex listens to everyone, but she is just the medic and knows her place. Let the shooters go first, follow up behind. She, like Finn, releases her harness and checks the draw on her blaster but doesn't draw it at this time. She does tighten the straps of the medical backpack that weighs her down but she is used to it. "Ready here." She announces as she stands and grabs a strap that dangles down from the overhead.

After another bump and grind, Sapphira slumps back in her seat and heaves out a little sigh, making a fist and punching the release on her own harnass. It snaps back and out of the way. She remains seated for another few seconds, letting another few bumps and churns occur (likely as they hit atmo) before she too decides to rise, reaching up high to hold onto the dangling strap above her. She's facing the back now, just waiting for it to open like the rest.

Devii gives a thumbs up to Finn and Dromond as they take the guns. As the Pilot announces a bogie she nods, "Gunners, if you can get a bead. Take them out. I'm not interested in an ambush today." She takes out her pistol and readies herself for landing. "Prepare for landing!" She says to the rest of the Squad and they stand in unison, their rifles ready in their quick responce straps across their chest, hanging onto the rails and straps above for support. "Lyn? Stay on me as fast as you can." The droid makes a low fart type sound. "Good."

Having been already standing, holding onto the strap above him, the wookiee is ready to quickly leave the ship, he'd probably even jump from the ship as it reaches tree top level, but Sapphira would probably trip him just to keep him from risking the fall into the trees. Chewie doesn't do the typical double check of his bowcaster as he sees some of the more rookiee Fist fighters doing. 'Ok, lets pay attention and call out if you see something.' Chewie, not being a guy that wears uniforms and all reaches into his pouch and pulls out a collar looking object that he snaps around his neck, its likely some sort of comm unit that he can use to keep in contact with the others while up in the trees.

The doors opened with a loud whine, and Finn stepped out standing with the turret on its manueverable arm for stability. Taking only a second to clip himself into a firing position, he was ready to engage. He spotted the secondaries that was indicated and opened fire. Well it wasn't for a lack of trying! Finn believed in fire superiority, and that's often what won firefights. Keep the enemy pinned long enough, and you can outmanuever them. His goal was to put them into cover while the platoon disembarked. Holding the turret carefully, he cupped a hand over its buttstock so that it stayed firmly against his shoulder while he fired. The desired result was achieved without actually hitting anything. When they settled, and tree cover prevented further fire, Finn was unstrapping and delegating turret duty to Falira. Finn brought his blaster rifle up then, extending its buttstock, and taking an aggressive leading position.

Passing by the two Headhunters, Jessika's initial shots on one almost take it out of the fight. It puts her in a much better position for a two against one, and as she loops in a tight arc that has her body straining against the tight restraints securing her to her seat, she quickly rotates her fighter to be in the same orientation she was in before the loop, albeit faced in a different direction. She searches for the injured target again, knowing it's best to take out the wounded first and leave the second one for after, even if it is technically the more dangerous craft as it's fully operational. It'll take less resources to deal with her first target. Attempting to line up another shot on him, Jessika angles in.

She finds her target wanting in the evasion department, and punishes them for it by putting the final few rounds in the pilot's coffin. The Headhunter explodes, leaving behind a shower of debris that ranges from atomized particles to chunks of the fighter spiraling off in various directions. She doesn't wait for any more confirmation than the first signs of it, and quickly goes evasive while searching for the next target to engage. "Seven to ground force. One target eliminated. Engaging the second before returning to escort."

With guns blazing out of both sides of the U-Wing it makes an impressive sight. The pilots were as good as Devii had hoped and they bring the craft in, fitting it just so between two trees and crunching a few smaller ones. "Go go go," The pilot calls out as the rear ramp drops. The engines never spool down, staying at a high whine. Indeed the pilot doesn't want to stay on the ground any longer than necessary. It's the co-pilot that answers Jess <<Copy that Seven. Good hunting. Troops being dropped now, we will take off in fifteen seconds.>>

Alex will wait for the rest of the troops to leave the ship before she does. As she runs for cover she is also drawing her pistol. Not to good at these ranges but it's what she has. Sliding down in the dirt, leaves and twigs she takes cover behind one of the large trees. Waiting for orders.

Sapphira makes up the near-end of the escape from the U-wing, choosing to draw her own weapon only after they have safely touched down. Unlike a few of the others, she doesn't immediately go for cover, but instead moves as quickly and quietly as she can through the trees and the underbrush, not wanting to stop moving until there's a visible reason to. Press on, little ninja, press on!

Devii waits until all those going a shore are off then hops down with Lyn who is hoisted down by and arm and starts rolling along with her as she makes towards the treeline towards the relay station. Once there she Echo's into her com, <<Nerf Herder's clear.>> So that the pilots know they can take off. Dromund stays on his gun and Falira Talon takes over Finn's gun. "Keep an eye out for that last pirate we saw running out to say hi. Move out. Overwatch, let us know if you see anything."

The ramp lowers and the only thing holding Chewie back are those who are in position ahead of him on the ramp, but once they are out of the way, Chewie launches himself toward the nearest tree, there's a flash of claws briefly before they are planeted into the tree and he's quickly moving up the tree and as the troop begins to run along, Chewie is swinging on branches and jumping from branches, keeping just ahead of everyone, playing his roll as point before the wookiee finds himself a tree with a view well enough ahead of the group and settles in to give a good look around and see if there is anything visible, his bowcaster brought up to bear. Chewbacca tugs back the cocking cord as he brings the bowcaster up to bear. The weapon hums lightly with electricly charging anger.

Emerging from the U-Wing, Finn lands firmly upon the terrafirma and trudges ahead to take point and cover simultaneously. He knows that winning a fight on the ground is all about violence of action and tempo, so he sets the tone the moment he's spotted the remaining pirate soldier they had established positive ID on earlier. From the kneeling position, Finn wraps the sling around his forearm and pulls his rifle into the meat of his shoulder. A moment for aiming and he squeezes the trigger, emitting a bolt that sinks right into the pirates dome, and closelines them to the deck. "Remaining target down!" Finn calls after his follow through, then straightens to and looks to Devii for the direction she wants them to go.

Making an attack run puts her at a position of disadvantage by the very nature of the action. She can't do two things at once. What matters now is if she can outmaneuver the second Headhunter before he can get a shot lined up on her. Better, if she can outmaneuver him and get a shot on him, instead. Not sure of the caliber of pilots she's flying against, Jessika doesn't underestimate them and thus doesn't relax. Pairing a depression of her port pedal with a tilt of her flight stick in the same direction while drawing back on it, she shaves speed to make an even tighter turn in the hopes that she'll be able to get a visual on a target she has to mostly rely on her sensors for. This close, though, it's hard not to see enemy fighters.

She's caught out, though. Enough that the target is able to get a shot at her. It's a waste, though, because there's no impact, and Jessika's tight turn allows her to spin her craft and bank starboard, now, as the Headhunter's speed carries it in a wider turn past her. Despite the luck and surge of adrenaline, Jessika keeps her cool and only takes the shot once she's lined up. She's rewarded with the shimmering of the craft's shields as it's impacted by her fire.

Battles over head and here on the ground. Both initial pirates are dead. But there is more on the way. Moving forward a bit to find another hiding place behind a tree Alex looks around. The natural sounds of the heavy woods have fallen silent as fire has erupted in it's midst. Alex peers round the large tree but sees only more trees. <<Got nothing here.>> She calls out before checking her datapad. It shows the direction to the bunker the pirates have been using <<Heading to the bunker is east south east>> she reports.

Meanwhile in space the battle continues as the second Z-95 takes hits on it's shields dimming them greatly. Now he tries to loose the X-Wing in and around the asteroids.

Sapphira is moving off to the left, hopefully her black attire is allowing her to blend in to the surroundings as she moves. With her weapon at the ready, she none the less keeps her eyes lifted and alert to any movement coming her way. Well, Pirate 1 is coming her way. As the comms crackle in her ear through the earpeice, she pauses in her trek forward to press herself against a large tree. It doesn't really provide her with cover from the oncomming pirate, but rather steadies her. She lifts her weapon, and squeezes off a three-shot grouping. The weapon is lowered. She presses on. <<Southeast boagie is clear, moving ahead,>> she mutters to the team, and then quietly she presses on.

Devii silently tells Finn to take half the squad consisting of Krevek, Lasermine, and String and head strait on to the relay through hand motions. Then she's telling Yelsik and Naqurka to flank around with her. It's here when they run into the aformentioned boggies. While Sap is off doing... what ever it sap does and take out one, She grabs cover behind a tree and blasts two rounds into whom ever while her grunts at least nail in some good covering fire. She keeps moving however.<<We're on 'em. Thanks for the heads up overwatch. WE'll let you know if we need the big guns.>> At least if Finn got bogged down in fire they had an advantage to flank the enemy position this way.

Between settling in and just having ill luck on catching a clear view, Chewie doesn't notice the pirates that Sapphira shoots at. The wookiee doesn't let this bother him yet, remaining settled in quietly. One thing learned from years of combat is the element of surprise can often be worth more than even outnumbering one's opponent. Chewie doesn't move to a new position as the shooting begins, he has enough of a clear line of sight as it is right for the moment. Bowcaster is held ready, for when something does come within his sight path.

Seeing the motions, Finn adopts a curious look, his eyes darting with the orientation of Devii's hands. When he interprets the message, he gives a thumbs up and motions to the three assigned to his fire team. Finn takes point himself and mid-trek he spots a pirate (p3) and slows to a kneeling stance motioning the others to take cover and engage. The silence erupts with sudden activity as four troopers engage the Pirate scoring a couple of hits that spill their opponent backwards. Still alive, he cries out in pain and clamors back up to get a position. "Press him!" Finn calls. "Don't let him get the advantage!" At once, the fire team is up and traversing to cover. Finn holds his position and zeroes in on the last known location awaiting him to foolishly appear within his sights.

Between the missed shots on her foe's part and the landed shots on hers, Jessika considers herself ahead of the game when it comes to this engagement. She weaves and matches the target's speed so she doesn't overshoot or lag behind, which allows her to hunt with her reticle rather than dedicating all her time to reaching the Headhunter in the first place. Her cockpit washes with color and goes dark again as her fighter angles its dorsal section towards the planet and away from it during her maneuvers, and, for a few moments, it's easy to forget there's a greater mission in the works. There's nothing but the dogfight. Still, Jessika knows she needs to hurry this up, and that's why she tries to acquire her shot as fast as possible.

Jessika's granted the chance she's waiting for. Another squeeze of the trigger spits a salvo of fire from her laser cannons, and in a reverse of the first target, she finishes a bit of damage with a chunk of it. Popping through the snubfighter's deflector shields, her cannons blister through the craft's hull and trigger a chain of detonations which rip the ship apart from the inside out in multiple chunks. As soon as it splits apart, Jessika changes her vector towards the planet and pushes the throttle forward as far as it will go. Reaching for her X-Wing's s-foils, she toggles them into the cruise position, prepping herself for maximum atmospheric speed. "This is Black Seven. Hostile fighters eliminated. Rejoining for close air support operations."

The battle in space continues till the Z-95 is hit and dies only to be wiped out before it spats on an asteroid. On the ground the four pirates, not expecting front line troops came charging head long into the Resistance trained fighters. Badly out trained and out gunned they are sorely shot up. One is clearly dead, two others are clinging to life while the fourth, untouched charges on. Blaster fire returns from the pirates. Disorganized and badly aimed.

Alex never saw the other pirate till he fired at her. Wood and leaves splinter at her as the shot was high. She ducks down even further trying to crawl into the ground to avoid the fire aimed at her. "Crap crap crap" she repeats as more bits of tree fall down on to her. "I got a bad guy shooting at me. Little help please," she yells out.

Sapphira is somewhat away from the moving army, but that doesn't mean that she's not engaged and involved. Heck, she just got shot at! Granted, it was a terrible shot, and likely caused by the wounded man squeezing one off in the direction of a rustling tree or something, but it was still in her general vacinity. In doing so, the man revealed his position, and Sapphira slows in her forward-press to squeeze off another round of her own in the direction of Pirate 2. The man doesn't even have time to yell: the shot hits him square, and he falls over backwards. Dead by the time he hits the ground. Sapphira pulls up short by a tree, peering and reaching around it to squeeze off another few shots. <<Another South East Boagie Down,>> she reports, as a blaster bolt slams into wounded Pirate 3, but the man just barely keeps his feet. Sapphira grits her teeth unhappily. <<You kriffin little....>>

Devii watches P2 go down as she advnaces, making a wide pass until they can see the relay station. She takes up a position behind a fallen tree with Naqurka and Yelsik. She pops P3 with her pistol, sending him into the sweet silence of death before aiming at P4. Her first shot misses as her sight picture changes but the second one clips him in the shoulder. Nerf Alpha opens up with their own returning fire, shots accurate this time.

Watching the blaster fire from above, Chewie doesn't see where the shots are going, but once the pirates begin to return fire, Chewie aims in on the one remaining pirate he sees, his first shot sends the pirate flying, and before the guy even hits the ground, with some sniper like move, Chewie hits him again and the guy quite literally splatters against the trees surrounding him. Chewie nods and moves to begin following the troop as they move forward, his swinging and jumping from limb to limb is more or less quiet.

Finn didn't see their opponent go down, but he saw the fire from other elements of their assault group shoot in his direction. It was String who called it out, motioning for Finn to move up. Finn unwraps the sling of his rifle from his arm and adopts an alert stance where he orients the muzzle of the rifle toward the ground. He closes the distance to his team. "Good work, guys. Let's press toward that compound. Stay near, okay!" Finn flashes a grin to all three then moves ahead at a slow jog. <<See no more contact. We're converging on the compound now.>> Finn kept his encrypted comm transmission brief. Just as he had conveyed to the team though, his group is converging toward the compound.

Sputtering and tossing debris off of her Alex stands once all the shooting as stopped. Leaves stick to her at various places as she digs around for her blaster that got lost momentarily. She nods to Poe as well as Devii and gives a mock salute to Chewie for taking out the last pirate. "I guess we should move on, yes?"r They are not far from the bunker and way up atop the rocks is a dish that the pirates must use to communicate with. "Be nice to take that out as well," Alexis muses.

<<Checking the perimeter,>> Sapphira reports over the comms, once it's clear that the immeidate danger has passed. She'll be orbitting, checking for other threats, while her player deals with her husband who has a pain in his leg oh no poor baby.

Devii converges on the compound with her team once the fire stops. "Alright..." She says to the others having caught sight of a pirate running into the blast doors as they closed. Yelsik and Naqurka both second that perception aloud to the ret of the squad. "Lyn, front and center." The demolitions droid who was part of Gloria Hoole's imfamous, unfamous B-Team rolls his way up and make another computerized farting sound in aknowledgement. "Lyn's guna blow this door then we'll stack and breach." She takes this moment to reload her pistol that's been beeping at her that it needs a new power pack Devii ejects the old powerpack from her Modified EL-718 Blaster Pistol - 9550, sliding a new one into its place with a click. Devii attempts to give an order to BB-A11 "Ali" (BB-Series 10609). However, the droid beeps twice, and rejects the order. Apparently, Devii has not been given clearance to work with that droid.

Up top, Chewie can't really see the door to the bunker but he does see the squad stopped near what is likely the bunker. 'I can come down and help unless there is something I can do from up here?' Chewie asks over the comm unit he has strapped to his neck like a collar.

Finn and his team witness someone briefly outside the compound before rushing in and sealing the hatch. <<Someone ran inside and shut the hatch on us!>> They're the first on the scene and secure the area. The teams regroup and Finn orders his to cover their surrounding area while their Lt sorts out the door. Finn joins them on watching the perimeter, and when the demo is set, Finn gets his team to stack away from the blast. "Prepare for close quarters." He relays, and makes the proper adjustments by lowering the rifle he had been using, then switching to his smaller blaster pistol. He holds it at the ready and waits.

Alexis makes the door last behind the others. She listens to Devii and nods "Well we know there is at least one in there alive." She falls silent as she listens to the com chatter from Chewie and looks to Devii again. Not her place to say one way or the other. "Oh great, I just love that," Alexis says dead pan. Hard to tell if she does or saying is sarcastically. She moves off to the side so they can blow it and she can watch as it goes.

The jungle sounds start to return as the firing has stopped. Way way over head an occasional glint off the swept back wings of the U-Wing can be seeing.

Lyn rolls forwards as the Squad moves out of the way and starts to gleefully set his charge. He whistles a little tune to himself in that boxy body of his. <<Sure, Chewie, come on down. Sap can take out an Linguiring fangirls.>> She says to the Wookie. It's only a moment later that Lyn is rolling back towards Devii and to cover, and only seconds after that when the explosion booms and rocks the very ground around them, ehoing, scaring off what ever avian wildlife was left after the loud firefight. There's a scream and the blast door cracks and a chuck blasts right through making a hole. Someone must have been standing right there and really regreted that decision in the after life. Before the smoke even clears Devii is instructing peope to Stack on the door. Once they're all there she'll give the order to, "Breach, breach, breach." And away they go through the hole into what ever lays beyond.

Dropping down just prior to the blast, Chewie stacks up with the rest, but being big and all he decides to play meat shield as he steps into the bunker ahead of everyone else, but with the smoke cloud still hanging, the large wookiee doesn't see what he is charging into, bowcaster is just held up to start shooting if he sees bolts heading their way.

At the command of breach, Finn brings his weapon into a heightened alert stance by training its muzzle ahead of him. His fire team followed his example and moved in quick and easy. They poured through the threshold and found a fairly large room with a hallway. Finn focused on his fatal front sector while the troops following him from his fire team checked the corners behind before pressing on. The hallways led for about 10m (33ft) before it veered left. Finn held position for now, letting the rest of the team file in and search.

The blast does do it's job. The door hangs crooked and a rather large half of it was propelled into the room striking a pirate square in the chest and crushing him at last. As Chewie enters there is another pirate off to the left and as soon as the big guy enters takes a quick shot. The blast goes well wide and high as he was mostly trying to stay down. There is a hallway further down, runs about 10 meters before turning left.

This is the job of the professionals and so Alexis takes the last place in line. Blaster in one hand while the other grabs hold of the edge of the door to steady here. "Pirate!" she shouts as he fires.

Devii is on it as the blaster Bolt comes, having come in behind Chewie she peaks out around his furry big self and lets off a few rounds into the smoke where she saw the bolt come from. Yelsik and Naquerka move in and clear the room. "Got your back, Chewie." She says. Finn and his team are clearing the hallway and the turn it takes. She'll take up the rear once they're done clearing that desk area.

Bowcaster coming down to return fire on the desk shooter, but Devii has it taken care of. Chewie watches the shots hit home and the first and last look pretty solid, so he doesn't hesitate as he pushes into the room, scanning with the sights of his weapon, to see if anyone is hiding out. You paged Poe Dameron with 'When the other that you have heard hears the comotion out front you hear he stops moving around. Possibly sounds like he is charging a blaster as well.'

Finn pushes forward once the threat in their immediate vicinity has been dealt with. His fireteam falls in behind him, adopting the same cautious walk he is. When he reaches the end of the hall, Finn pauses at the corner and plants his back. He motions for the others to halt, then listens. There is the tell-tale sign of someone on the beyond the corner, and judging from the sound of it there's a radio, and something charging that sounds akin to a blaster. Finn visibly cringes and turns to motion with his hand /possible contact./ When he indicates where, he looks to his team, then shows three fingers, subsequent two, then one. They move out into the open together. Finn hugs the corner and drops to a knee. If he hadn't the blast that went off would've sank deep against his chest. Both he and the pirate squared off in a grueling firefight that saw neither damaged, and the fire team that followed did so blindly firing in. It was Lasermine who scored a nasty hit on the pirate, spilling them backward into a mess, screaming in pain. "Push, push!" Finn urged the team, while holding his spot.

Alexis continues to follow the troopers as they gain entrance down the hall. A small bunk room is off to one side with the left overs of many meals. Most have dried out by now. While the place had to be expensive to build for Pirates it is not the best construction to be had. Where the last pirate is located though up to date and very expensive radio equipment is in racks as well as a vented generator in case power was cut off to the bunker. Clean, as far as pirates go, not to bad of a place.

The last pirates hides behind equipment racks as he shoots out from between to rather large receivers.

Once their room is cleared, Yelsik announcing as such Devii orders the team to go join the rest of the advance. It'll take them a little bit to round the corner, certainly not enough to fire this round. Maybe Chewie will have better luck with those long legs of his

Finn watches as the rest of his team pushes ahead and Chewie finishes off the remaining pirate with a devastating shot from his bowcaster. Finn cringes again and tries not to look at the dead body. Reports from his fire team indicate the remaining area is clear, so now it was time for the purpose of their mission. "We've just got to rig this place to blow. Head back outside and cover our six. We'll be out shortly." Finn joins Devii then, watching the demolition magic take place.

Devii nods to Yelsik and Naqurka to join their other squad mates, "Send in Lyn..." She looks to Lyn and smirks before searching the area. There's a chip loose in one of the drives and she takes it out and puts it in one of her gear pouches, "Could come in handy." She says. Before long Lyn is rolling in and Devii nods her head towards the exit. Out her and Fin goes while Lyn does his Job. It takes a little longer than normal, the droid exits maybe ten minutes later, whistling that tune to himself and then suddenly the thing explodes and bright violent flash. "Overwatch... Guns. Nerf Herder is ready for pick up, Mission accomplished, let's get the drek out of here."

Demolitions set the team makes it back to the LZ. As they arrive so does the U-Wing. As soon as it settles down the back ramp lowers allowing everyone to board. As soon as the last one on a voice calls out "Good to go." is yelled. The Pilot lifts off and makes a circle. Those watching out of the open doors will see a very large explosion. Fire and rocks go shooting up into the air. Then surprising to everyone flames shoot out at the toop of the rock spur by the dish then it crumbles down the mountain side "Must have been a shaft down to the bunker," one of the team notes. At last, with the doors closed, SAR1 breaks atmo and heads spacwards through the asteroids and finally to the hyperlane.
