Piratical Problems - Air Battle over Nar Shaddaa

OOC Date: May 10, 2020
Location: Air lanes over Nar Shaddaa
Participants: KarysGM, Zul Gradnk, Hadrix Kora, Sajin, Barad, Merek, Kirioth Kora

The rumble and sudden explosion of a speeder in the skies over Nar Shaddaa leaves a screaming hull that plummets quickly towards the densely urban landscape of the brightly lit city below. The sky is pink on the horizon but already in the depths of the buildings its dark and afire with the signs adds. The turning screaming hull slams into a buiding's roof and sends sparks and another explosion up into the air the plumes up in a rolling cloud that quickly turns black to blend into the surrounding grim and industrialized city.

People who at first stood in shock began to run and are currently now left screaming as they run for cover while a fire rages.

The quick and sudden downturn of a herd of speeders roars overhead to add to the confusion as four more are currently engaged in combat, shooting back and forth to send stray blaster bolts in varying colors as a chaotic light show that sends even more people into a rush for cover.

This is going to get even more ugly and its shown as one of those on the speeders engaged in combat hits the ground with a decided thunk and splat only heard by those nearby. The merc lays unmoving after his percarious fall from the low flying speeder.

Is flying in on her Orange 74Z, in her current swoopsuit..... which is an orange Suit of X-Wing Armour, fitting her dress, barreling around the corner.... looks like she got into a bad place as she notices the fire around her.

Peace and quiet are a joke on this rock. Just moments to take a breath before it's kicked out of you again and even then most often those short breathers are giving you a lungful of feted rot stench. Even now, finishing up a meeting - setting up contact in the corporate sector, Hadrix looks up to the eruptions in the sky all around.

<"Kriff."> <"Not Satunda, is it?"> <"No, it's Datunda."> <"That figures."> the ID10 mounted just beneath his cape quips through comms as stray blaster fire chews up roofing gravel around Hadrix, <"Please tell me... you're not."> <"I could use the exercise."> <"Please sell me to Jawas. I want my death to be peaceful."> and then the big Mandalorian's jets ignite, carrying him skyward.

Sajin had taken out his band new X-17A for a shakedown in the skies of Nar Shaddaa. The sleek black Air Speeder, two forward fixed mounted blasters, was a intimidating sight. The King of Drik just thought it was cool. He had a foam container of caff in one hand as he gloved hands manipulated the controls. <<"Herm... I can't wait to drik this Ca-"

THERE WAS AN EXPLOSION!

Sajin acted, on instinct, pulling the sleek fast airspeeder away from the exploding speeder. His Caff went everywhere... good thing he was in his void armor, that would have burned. <<"AH Kriff.">> He steadies the craft, engaging the emergency protocals as the scanners activated and he took stock of the situation. <<Damn gang wars... I just WANTED SOME CAF!"

Now the King of Drik was angry. Hell hath no fury like that of a raging Hapan.

Barad had seen this chaos brewing all the way from up in orbit, ((OOC: Sensor Contact #16)) on his way back from a long - haul cargo run. Uh-oh. That looks . . . rather messy! Barad frowns, and his big 'ole floopy ears sag forward. Speeders! Strafing! Fighters! Airborne! Reckless speeds and explosive materials! It all looks rather like the kind of situation in which people . . . could get hurt. And so, being a Medic, Barad feels compelled to get involved. First things first, though, he dunks the "Second Chance" into the drainage canal, filling up the ships small hold with tonnes of water (-ish) Nar Shad glop. Just in case there will be fires, that need to be put out with . . . sorta - water. Oh, he's pretty sure that there will be fires. And, oh hey! --- Look, there's one now!

Merek is of course waiting upon the Moon to transport between places. The Defiance back at the port, he makes a way along through the streets, black armor on trimmed while it is placed upon attire which he wears. When he notices that a fight is breaking, he places on the helmet which he wears, then speaks to a comlink, "Sarmick, this is Sergeant Black, I am going to assist a few locals. Keep the ship prepared for flight." The man checks on the weapons which he keeps on the belt, F-11D picked up while it charges.

Roth lives on Nar Shaddaa and well, she hasn't been off planet today. The Alabaster Mandalorian had been heading to her ship to make a run, but, the sound of the explosion and the parts raining down. The woman gives a soft sigh, then she's noticing familiar armor that is her brother. <<Hadrix, what am I missing?>> she asks over their comms.

The fire rages atop the building the general chaos of the street and connecting areas are getting flybys from a set of four speeders locked in battle are sent scurrying for cover. Those on the ground contest with possible stampeding and looting - most likely. It is Nar Shaddaa. Most of the lower flying air traffic has cleared out or stopped, a few brief bumps and crashes that hold up lines as the four speed back around as the pursuit continues to sew chaos in the air above.

It appears two against two with unidentified pirates or gangs occupying either side as they twist and turn, another figure shot spills off a speeder and disappears as he hits the top of some buildings likely not to get up.

The swoop turns around a Corner, a bulky black pistol in Zul's hand, firing at the closest speeder, Zul having forgot to account that she was still taking a turn while she fires, missing them by a mile. She notices a familiar figure <"Had? What are you doing here?">

<<"Not sure - looks like a gang war and their mussing up some of my business.">> Growling over comms as he takes to the air, moving on steady bursts while skimming the paintjob of a red painted speeder - blistering it and showing bare metal below when wind kicks it away,

<<"Link on me if you can, we can try to air-flank them.">> pausing when he spies speeder roaring up to join... and then a noodle head is hollaring at him,

<"I live on this damned rock, what do you think?"> called back to Zul with his helm vocalizer amped up.

The X-17A hovered for just a moment until something so offensive caught the Driver's Eye. "YOU!" He picked one out, the yellow speeder. He wasn't exactly sure who was the offending party, he didn't care. He wanted justice for his Caf... and maybe the innocents the collateral damage was causing... maybe. He pushes the throttle forward, the high pitched engines screaming with forward momentum. The two matte black cannons comes to life, spitting laser fire towards the yellow gang speeder, smashing into it and causing a good chunk of damage. Sparks, fire, and smoke start to billow. He keeps up the chase!

Barad hurries on over to the crashed speeder. (Or, the -closest- crashed speeder -- there's likely going to be more that one at this rate.) After dousing the thing to prevent any fires, and / or putting out existing fires, Barad tries to assist any wounded or incapacitated occupants! Likely the start of a long, long process, given all the shooting and zoooooming that seems to be going on or "incoming" ...

From the street, there is a C-B7 which Merek lifts up to stand in the open door along, while he takes a moment to place a d-ring upon that rail, beginning to lift up his weapon. The F-11D points toward what looks to be a Ko Hen speeder, although instead of the speeder itself, he aims to the driver, which strikes them in the side with the bolt while he begins to fire on the pirates as well.

<<Why can't we just get one hour off.>> Roth grumps through the comms and starts to kick on her rockets, but, she doesn't get the most graceful of starts, <<Ah kriff!>> she grunts as she was pulling the trigger on the Thunderer, the red bolt flies wide and wild, a stray cat yowls in pain somewhere.

As others join in, attempting to end the chaotic and very dangerous air battle quickly, there is more damage being done. Barad has successfully put out on the fire on the roof and is thankfully helping civilians caught in the crossfire. It is the King of Drik that shakes the Ko Hen awake and makes it apparent the two pirate factions are not alone. Those in pursuit and within shooting range are now also targets.

Merek manages to slow the Ko Hen Yellow speeder significantly as its pilot slumps forward, back smoking just as much as his speeder. Its all he can do to keep from hitting things as his four others with him yell at him to get moving. One seems ready to shove him off the wheel and out of the speeder.

Its Roth's miss that draws the Hespa Raiders attention and subsequently their fire.

Zul Gradnk blinks <"No.... need to be so angry Had."> she winces <"I just thought this.... wasn't a place where people usually hung out at."> She turns around, deciding to fire on the yellow speeder this time. Seems like an easier target. WEll, she thinks so. She misses the Speeder, the shot going to high. Well, it hits it. Namely, the seat. At least the driver won't be so comfortable anymore

<<What the hell is an hour off?">> Tucking his arms in to hold his caster against his chest and legs next to eachother, Hadrix bites a tab that opens fuel valves and sends the the man streaking forward like a rocket,

<<"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?">> <<"I saw this in an action holo once.">> <<"THIS IS NOT A BASIS FOR TACTICAL ACTION!!">>

Hadrix lands, hard, in the back of the red speeder's open carriage, bowcaster aimed at the driver with the casual audacity of a man who has looked death in the face and boop-kissed its nose. No words are spoken, just the press of a firing stud and the sudden eruption of a sentient into a particularly unpleasant red mist.

Sajin unleashes another volly of crimson sputtering madness into the Yellow Speeder, an engine toasted, on fire and smoking heavily. It causes the craft to tilt, tossing the majority of its occupants to the streets bellow. The Thralls should have a field day looting and stripping the bodies. THe pilot of the craft attempts to correct for the damage but it's clear, this speeder had met it's match in the King of Drik and was well on its last legs. <<"I would have shot myself already...">> HE comments off handedly.

Barad finishes putting out the fire with the emergency extintuisher from the "Second Chance" and rushed on over to start to treat the wounded civilians. Meanwhile, around them, it seems to be sorta raining fire and metal. Eh. Not unheard of. This is Nar, right? It's rained -worse- things, Barad's sure, at times. Just once, though, he'd like to see it rain a nice, pure cool, fresheing water-rain. That would be something, now, wouldn't it? Barad looks around for incoming, and warns folks if they need to take cover. And urges them to move all of their wounded friends to shelter, where he's -trying- to set up an impromptu "First Aid Station."

The Interceptor begins to maneuver, while Merek's bolt manages to just about strike the engines on the speeder. With that, he will begin to shift away while the speeder explodes from the bolt from Hadrix, "Alright, pull us back, I need to see if the position will work."

Roth rolls with the hit, dropping down a few feet in the sky, but she rights herself as she's falling. She raises the Thunderer again, her arm vibrating as she takes a shot at the yellow speeder as it comes into view first. The kickback sends her backwards, rolling off the hood of another speeder. Wheeee!

Another speeder is going down as Sajin hits the floundering yellow craft again. Smoking and slowly starting to catch flame it lists to the side as its driver is heavily wounded besides thanks to Merek. Its Roth that finally sends the thing down and with its fuel leaking into the air she lands her hit right near the fuel line. The thing goes up in a blaze of glory that shakes and rattles buildings before it careens into an open roadway still heavily flame. Its partner Ko Hen speeder of Grey peels back around to check on its contents bu no one is alive and a shot is sent off in Barad's direction that blessedly misses while he tries to organize the chaos on ground. The metal on fire squeals and creaks.

The blast from it sends Roth off kilter and the shot fired at her misses, going wide and saving her some more damage.

Zul draws the attention of the Hespa Outlaws as they start to come back around for more, a fight on many sides.

The accumulative speeders in the air create for an angry whining whirl of sound and death. But its Hadrix that paints the Red Hespa Speeder with blood as the driver slumps forward. One rushes for the divers seat as the other two face off and one starts to cower back as the other manages to land a shot on the large improvising Mando.

Zul Gradnk turns around yet again, feet on the gas. Pistol raised, aim at engine... BULLS-EYE!

Mag-locking his boots the deck of the speeder, Hadrix braces himself while the barrel of the bow caster is pointed into the forward section of the ship.

<"I would suggest jumping."> said to those outlaws still aboard whilst he draws the cocking string again. Preparing to put the next round into the controls if not stopped soon.

There was satisfaction in watching the Yellow speeder crash and burn, exploding against a building or two, likely killing some poor innocent smuck. Oh well, not his problem. Sajin turned his head to notice the gray speeder with the same gang markings as the Yellow. Eyes narrow behind his Void armor's helmet, the Hapan turning his crafs to persue. The Retical lines up and the trigger is pressed, sending a volly to cut into the engines of the speeder in question. <<"Grey and Yellow are the Colors of House Vernni, how DARE you!">>

Barad busies himself with the care of the burn victims first. It's always better to get burns cleaned out and bandaged as soon as possible! Injections play havoc with such injuries, and a litte bit of First Aid saves a whole lot of suffereing later. With surprising gentleness, Barad's big 'ole meaty paws peel back the charred plastic that's fused to the skin. A bit of synth - spray, a swath of Bacta, and Barad moves on to the next in the line. When there's a break in the action, he puts some gauze up on a stick -- a makeshift "Flag" to alert the civvies to the presence of the First Aid "Station."

The Interceptor begins to maneuver about next to the striped of the Hespa, Merek takes a moment to line up with the F-11D, before he pulls the trigger, which swings one of the bolts right into the engines, taking a moment to pull along the side with the speeder while a bolt comes right by him. The man twirls the weapon while he points to the speeder, "YOU WILL SURRENDER!"

Roth was better with swords, but, she wasn't breaking those out right now. She levels the Thunderer to the next group of baddies in sight and takes aim before pulling the trigger and blasting another out of the sky. She wasn't really sure if this was their fight, but it was now.

The firefight overhead continues with Zul, Hadrix and Sajin all scoring hits on the speeders that are left. Hadrix does so, causing the red to smoke beneath him as he issues his threat and suggestion to flee. They can't really flee but neither is in a mood to anger him any further and spend their moments while the driver handles the vehicle to try to find a way out. One jumps and misses the rooftop he meant to land on. That could not have ended well.

The Grey speeder has no idea it has offended anyone its color of choice but Sajin makes them feel it while Roth picks off one of its four occupants leaving the driver and two others. Three speeders smoking in the sky including the striped one that Zul manages to strike and send rocking. Its contents outnumber all the rest as shots that ring out from it thankfully miss their targerts. Merek manages to tag team the striped speeder and the Hespa Outlaws within are grabbing at seats as one is sent over the side as the driver fights for control while it smokes.

Below the chaos is still going, the firefight overhead is dangerous while Barad tries to clean up and tend the unfortunate bystanders.

There is a last minute choice by the grey Ko Hen Speeder as it veers away, attempting to break free of the location and their aggressors. In essence making a run for it. The striped speeder follows suit in an effort to catch them while the poor red speeder still is facing the problem called Hadrix.

Zul Gradnk blinks, deciding to pursue the striped one again, firing at it.... Sadly, just as she isa bout to fire she notices she has a roof top in front of her, pulling up just as she fires.... burning some paint off of the speeder, adding another stripe in the process.

Turning into the blasts turning towards him, Hadrix uses shoulder pauldrons and vambraces to absorb fire coming in. Blaster bolts bouncing or dissipating against durasteel and beskar while another casts himself out.

<"Your choice."> Keeping his boots locked as his thrusters engage at full force and another Bowcaster shot slams through the command console, blowing through the underside of the fore, Hadrix's magnetics disengage and he is airborne again. Watching the speeder going down as he leaves it.

The red bolts from the X-17A slam once more into the engine block on the Grey speeder as it circles around a block of buildings to try and escape the sleek, deadly, and agile black Aerofighter. The repulso lifts whine as they compensate to match the speed of the slower craft so that it doesn't over take it. One of the smoking thrusters explodes and flies off, falling towards the ground violently. It doesn't put the skif down but it certainly slows it down.

Barad rushes off in search of the downed speeder pilot who took that ill - advised "Leap of Faith" and came up just a bit short in the end. (Ouchies!) Barad runs with surprising speed for a being of his ... well, let's call it "Roundness," as he searches the areas beside the rooftop for where exactly that unfortunate may have fallen to. Barad hopes he's not too late! But wow, that looked like quite the fall. Ouch.

There's a look from the C-B7 to the speeder which is beginning to careen into the city. Merek nods a bit to the pilot, while he takes a moment to place a hand upon the piloting stick, then he maneuvers about while he manages to side by side with the speeder. A look to the pilot, "I won't be able to guide it away with only us I don't want to put you into this." The man takes a moment to unlatch his d-ring, while he begins to leap into the speeder with the gang members. "You two, keep to railing," he says. The man only wanted to prevent the fight, he didn't want to chase fleeing people, he wanted to keep what civilians that he can safe. He then maneuvers the vehicle with mastery about into the street while the speeder begins to skid along a bit next to where Barad might be.

Roth seems to have found her wings again and she doesn't fall to her death, but she has a new whole in her armor so she is PISSED! She aims for the striped speeder as it goes whizzing by her and pulls the trigger on the Thunderer. Sending the speeder careening downwards. She looks to the blaster pistols, "I love this thing." she whispers.

It is truly hard to tell whether Nar Shaddaa is doing better or worse after noble figures try to break up a deadly air fight. There is some smoke, fire, downed speeders and many injured. Likely some dead. The streets are still in chaos near Gearhead.

The pirates of both sides are harried and as Hadrix sends the red speeder careening down Merek manages to board and bring the severaely damaged thing to the ground with a sliiiiiiiiiiiide across the ground. Sparks fly and the metal grates but he wins the descent and the two pirates are up and out, staggering as they try to run.

The Grey Ko Hen is on the run - not really. Its puffing out smoke but trying to get away from its much better Striped Hespa counter part. Sajin clips the wings on the Gray enough to make it lag but its the striped that tries to avoid Zul that does not catch Roth's bolt. It spins and the whole thing starts to descend in a rolling mess towards some buildings.

YAY! The Grey is more than happy to be gaining some distance however slow.

Zul returns to the pursuit of the speeder, firing at the engine again "Why does this always happen when I am out for some fun?"

Gaining distance Gray was, but the looming lithe black figure of the agile Aerofighter was like death stalking behind. Foreshadowing the skifs imminant demise. Once more Sajin's X-17A's blaster cannons rip into metal and engine aring apart one half of the skiff from the other in a brillaint explosion. Some die then, othere's jump and risk breaking bones or death as they hit the side of buildings or a roof. The Hapan didn't care, he kept flying away from the dwindling action, off to get another cup of Caf and... "Clean my damn armor..."

Who the hell was trying to rescue these scumbags? Hadrix floats mid air, growling still as he begins following more of the target brackets his AR system has been maintaining. Arm extending with the bow sighted down - one of those outlaws still trying to get out of the area after having had themselves a firefight in the sky is blasted to skid along the ground under his feet.

Well most of him.

Some of it is gone.

Barad is surprised and happy to see Merek, all of the sudden, right in the mix of all of this chaos. "Merek!" Barad calls out, and *waves* and *waves* to try to get the latter's attention. "Can you get us to the -next- crash?" Barad holds up his MedPac demonstratively, indicating he's doing his best to heal the victims of all this carnage ... though keeping up with pace and scale of the carnage and chaos is taking some doing!

The C-B7 begins to meet up with Merek, while he nods a bit, then he looks to Barad, even while he watches when Hadrix begins to shoot the pirates. The man doesn't look to be pleased about it, though that's difficult to tell with the mask of the helmet upon. Then he motions for combat medic Barad while he takes a moment to settle in, "Alright," he then places that rifle on the sling with a nod while they begin to takeoff. "What brings you to the Moon?" he asks.

Roth sees that everything is...winding down. She shoves the Thunderer back into her holster and then looks about for where Hadrix went to. <<Wait up big man.>> she states as her rockets go off and she heads after him.
