Rori. It's a swamp, not much else is useful to know about the place. Merek has taken his time to bring in his Interceptor, and informs folk about the general rumors. He makes sure that all of them have a link by datapad to his comlink. He had spoken to them all and brought his two speeders to take three others beside him each within them. In the night, people are coming to the shops to take from them, though no one seems to know who is doing it. Those that came were asked to stay together while they look into it. It is likely the next place to be looked into by the group will be a shop which sells computers as well as droids. The building is nice, about a house of five rooms worth of space. Everyone was asked to come as though customers as well.

While the Uniform Code of Military Justice has a few things to say about vigilantism, Nova prefers to listen to her own heart on such matters. Hence, she's approaching this shop as if she's just any customer. Clad in clean but used tan work attire, a shoulderbag bumping against her hip, she steps inside, pausing to take a look around the place. Computer /and/ droids: The blond soldier is in Geek Heaven. Pity she can only pretend to look the merchandise over. Her attention is reserved for the potential criminals that might be here any moment.

Assuming the role of customer, the noble Lady Aryn Cole strolls into the store wearing a stylish poncho like top with short pants whose leggings stop about mid-calf. For shoes, she wears small slip ons that come no higher than her small ankles. Aryn is distinct, with bright blonde hair and pale skin. She's pretty too! Her goal was to make it inside and start looking around at some of the products.

lrych Cometburn enters with Nova, "I'm seeing if I can find something to upgrade the Mynock's computer with. It's kind of slow... I mean not that I've been watching too much..." He clears his throat, "Oh hey look... and old 716 processor unit. Now that's something you don't see everyday."

It's novel, to say the least, and in some regards despite the danger they face fun to be out SHOPPING. Droids interest her and the rows of gleaming bodies, preternaturally quiet are eerie. Tallie walks down the row deeply interested in the specs of a secretary droid while keeping an eye out for unusual customers. Freshly pressed and washed after months of sitting in a drawer, Tallie wears cargo pants over a pair of shoes that she won't regret if she has to run through some mud, a jacket and tank top both black complete her, what she hopes, nondescript look. The jacket is just large enough to keep the blaster under wraps.

Hot on the heels of Nova is one Xenia Vala: post-Hosnian recruit from the Kanz sector. Her skills at the range are 'par', but her lifetime of skills on the street are what makes her a shoe-in here. She looks for all the world like another average jane, idly bopping to some song in her brain that makes her short head of inky curls go boppity-boop. For sure less refined in appearance than prettily noble Cole.

"Look at all this /stuff/" she waggles eager fingers just inches from a display case, but knows better than to leave a lasting mark. "This translator unit is almost pocket-sized!" So not quite petty thief candy, where she's from. But almost. She floats over to examine what Elrych has found, leaning in to cross those brown eyes in closeup admiration.

There was one person who loved shopping and that was the distinctive human-but-not Greeson Rais except he was in the possibly-unenvial position of hiding out on a rooftop in the distance with a longblaster the size of a small child. He was lying prone, targeting computer turned off, watching the street below. How had he gotten up here? Well, for a giant, he moved like a spider-monkey. "You have a guest," he murmured into his comm, tracking the approach of a figure heading towards the front door. "Male, suit and... that jacket fell out of vogue two years ago, my good man!" The comm static couldn't hide the distaste in his tone. "Doesn't look armed but that jacket could be hiding anything in that atrocious inner lining."

The customer walks into the place, and up to the shopkeeper. "Hey, what do you have on sale today?" he asks, then he smiles. He has on a nice brown jacket which is on the suit he wears of that color also. Meanwhile all of them can hear, Greeson can see also, that a speeder which is a transport comes to the front of the shop, parking. No one steps from the speeder, meanwhile inside Tallie can hear a sound which is a lot like a whir, spinning up. One of the droids then is on the floor while it falls from the rack. "Greetings friend," it says.

<Copy, I can see him now,> Nova whispers into her collar mic. <That's a very unfortunate shade of brown, too.> She nods to Elrych, looking over the selection. "I see an uprated central processor over there, and a high-speed bus. Could be that's what you need to speed things up again."

She pauses, frowning. "Hear that?" she asks Elrych, peeking out the front window. "A transport just drove up in front of the shop. I didn't see anyone get out..."

She switches to her comlink. <Red, do you have eyes on a transport that just pulled up in front? If you can see it, does it have any markings?>

She winces at the clatter of a droid falling to the floor, then... speaking? <We just had a droid activate in here; fell right onto the floor and started talking. Something's not right...>

Aryn arrives at the shop just when the transport does. Rather than go inside, she remains outside having just received a 'holo-call.' She steps off to one side and places her hand to her ear, as if she's listening to the holo but she's simply listening to the comm-traffic back and forth. She doesn't state that she's outside, but she's there, waiting just in case.

Elrych cranes his neck a bit to look towards Nova is indicating. He's got his shades on so one can't really tell too much what he's looking at. He's got at least one eye on the guy who came in. Shaking his head he looks between Nova and Xenia, "Nah... I didn't hear anything." He reaches out with the force to see if maybe there's any kind of impending doom. For all he knows it's just a couple making out in there or someone doing their last bit of spice before hopping out to buy the hottest holo-converter. He narrows his brows, "Something is going to happen... All of us are being targeted." He whispers.

Keeping tabs on the group spread throughout the shop, Tallie has stopped near a droid with an expensive price tag discreetly posted next to its powered down body. She can see her face reflected back in its silvery body; she doesn't see the surprise on her face or her mouth drop open when one of the droids powers up not two droids down. It ratchets into life with a clatter that makes her reach for the pistol under her jacket, the noise makes heads turn. Pressing the com bead, <Not right, downright bad. Look at it. Combat model or I pilot Kimogilas>

Xenia arches a brow as the brown suit goes walking past, but remains loitering around 'her' little endcap near the front of the store. She really /is/ diggin that translator droid mounted in case. Also, she's got a decent eye on the door from here and a patch of instant-cover, if things turn messy. The idling speeder is suspicious, sure, and she mutters into her own link. <<Don' suppose there's some elderly patron in here, awaitin a pickup? Fancy as it is, don't imagine this store has valet...>> a glance darts past a 'QUIK' machine lubricant display - a garland of single-use packets - toward Elrych.

<<Anyone who pilfers these pockets is gonna be mighty disappointed.>> Even if she knows that's /not/ what he meant.

"See, brown-on-brown is a crime against fashion, and... hold." Ooooh. "Confirmed, transport speeder just parked out front, no one leaving, no identifying markings. That's the getaway vehicle or I'm Ektor's mum," was Greeson's posh-but-backwater accent over the comms as he racked the charging lever on his sniper rifle. His big noisy bright sniper rifle. Why couldn't dark lasers be a thing? It'd certainly help for all these rooftop assassinations he liked to do. He gazed closer, identifying the doors, the engine block, the repulsors, everything he needed to make a boom. "I didn't bring my vehicle killer but I can disable this thing, though I warn you, it'll be louder than Life Day fireworks and more noticeable than Ektor's habit of leaving crumbs in my bed!"

From the back of the transport, the doors open up, five men step from it all in armor like they're with some elite team. None of them actually notice Greeson, while one of them moves to point his weapon at Aryn, "You," the masked voice says, "Tell us, are there more than just you here?" he asks. There's a swirl of a motion and he points to the shop which is where the team moves to as well.

Within, the customer speaks to the shopkeep, "We know what you're doing here," he then draws a blaster from the jacket then tries to shoot the owner. He doesn't manage to hit, then he turns to shoot at the others there, while a shot moves wild and strikes next to Nova into one of the droids. "On the floor now, or you're all about to be killed!" he exclaims. Then as he even says that, a few of the droids begin to activate, "Greetings friend, welcome to your new droid," while weapons begin to power on the droids, then they begin to fire into the other droids, as well as anyone that is standing.

When the shouting starts, Nova has the presence of mind to hit the ground. She claws her stun baton out of her shoulderbag; it's not exactly the idea weapon, but in the close quarters of the shop it'll hurt fewer people, and the ionic component of the stun setting should be useful against droids. She rolls under a display table, trying to figure out which droids are on their side and which are the enemy.

Aryn's first reaction was to touch her lightsaber that was below the concealing poncho she wore. Rather than go straight to violence, her second reaction was to rely on the Force. She did not detect malice from the people outside confronting her, but for safety, she engaged her personal deflector shield just in case. "Several of my friends are inside. You must help them. Get them out, quick!" She says, pointing!

Yeah, Elrych was totally going to be a hero. When the blaster sounded and he looks to see the smoking hole near Nova, the cocky Corellian smirked. Then turning towards the five entering, he doesn't duck at first. Instead he's about to reach out with the force and pull their guns away... He stops though, his smirk falling as he glances to the dorids now coming out and shooting. He drops to the ground and covers his head, reaching out to the force to help him evade and stray blaster fire. "WHO THE KRIF ARE THE BAD GUYS!?" It seemed very clear cut at first but now... now it was confusing him greatly.

Tallie finds herself crouched under a table not far from Nova who she shares a quick look with; it carries an entire conversation. In which one of the salient questions is: what is going on? Shooting a pistol from a belly down position doesn't work for her so she duck walks to look down the aisle and quickly tucks herself back in under the table, unable to distinguish friend from enemy.

"Oh sh..." When the room suddenly lights up with the festivity of warfare, Xenia jerks back behind that precious Translator display she was oggling. << I don-->> The splintering crash of shattering glass coupled with sizzling plop of melted bits forces her to dive for the floor and rethink her cover strategy. This ain't cool. A mop of black curls peeps up from the floor-level shelf and one wide eye stares through the skeletal forms of droid legs toward the table across the way where Tallie and Nova are hiding. <<The trainers! The training dummies. Droids. I /think/ those are-->> a too-close blast motivates her to roll over and flatten out. <<not our friends.>>

"Contact, five hostiles out of the transport." TranspawhT. That weird accent again. Gree's voice was calm but his blood was up, so it lacked his natural fussiness. "They're bothering our little lady..." what a white knight! "Or not..." he trailed off as, despite hearing all sorts of chaos within the shop, he noticed through the scope there was something up with the way Aryn and the gang were acting. Well, not so much 'up' as Gree was expecting a fight or resistance and he was seeing compliance. The confusion was enough to make him crave a cup of tea, and though a small thermos of tea sat near him he didn't dare drink from it, for the need to pay total attention was paramount. There was enough chaos going on that Greeson's next words over the comms were, "Advise exfiltration, too many unknown factors, and keep yourself silent Earbuds," Elrych, "or I swear I shall be very cross with you!" They were, after all, in character.

The shopkeep doesn't get hit by that shot from the customer, and as such he begins to take off to exit even as the five mercenaries come into the place, the one that was talking to Aryn just nodding before he does so. The shopkeep also takes a shot at the woman who is to him, in the way of his escape. The customer begins to follow chasing the man. As the five people open fire on the droids, two of them are taken to the floor, with only three of them to fire into the droids, managing to blast one of them. "Get out of this place, it's not safe!" the leader exclaims to what he sees as customers.

The droids begin to shoot wildly all about, though most of the others don't get hit, Xenia finds herself in range of one's targetting system. Then it points a blaster weapon at her also, "Greetings friend!" And it shoots right into her, striking the woman. In summary, the mercs with the elite gear seem to be engaging the droids, the droids seem to be engaging everyone. The shopkeeper's also being chased by the customer, it is up to the team to decide what they would like to do also.

<Best idea I've heard so far. Go for the training droids!> Nova coms to the squad. And that's about when one of the droids blasts the idea-haver, Xenia the tagalong. "Kid!" Nova exclaims, rather ironic considering the woman's probably older than she is. In her mind, she's already anticipating the worst: These droids seem to be using /lethal/ weapons, an override from their usual programming. After all, how do you learn if you're dead? But deeper down, The Sergeant just saw one of her people taken down by a treacherous enemy. And The Sergeant is quite beyond fury! With an ugly, gutteral howl, Nova dive-rolls from beneath the table, coming up under its chin with a smash of the sturdy stun baton. The droid stumbles back, crashing into its former display rack. The incensed soldier follows up with a jab straight to the vulnerable joint just above the collar of the machine's plastron, thumbing the stun setting on full power. The droid dances and jerks, sparks flying from its collar, and it collapses to the floor, smoking. The Sergeant (never mind that she's a Flight Officer 3C) whirls, snarling, looking for her next target, the baton sparking in her hand.

Aryn steps out of the way only to get /in/ the way of the storekeeper who is fleeing. She stumbles to one side only to realize the storekeeper is running away from the customer who is holding a blaster! Aryn gently raises her hand and influences the Force to pluck the man up and toss him against the speeder HARD. It should not be enough to kill him, but he's not likely to run anymore! <<"I have one down outside..">>

Elrych watches as the blaster shot slams into Xenia, his eyes widening a bit as the violence unfolds. His hairs stand on his back as a blaster bolt strikes and sparks a bit away from him. "ENOUGH!" He yells, not having time to comment to Greeson about the earbuds and him being quiet. He reaches out with a closed fist towards the droid that shot at him and then flicks his middle finger, sending the droid through the wall violently, thunder clapping loudly as he does so. "Nova! Tend to Xenia!" He then stands, pushing had to his feet and running like a speed demon, "I'm on the Shop Keep!" He slams out of the door, looking to take in the scene out side. He notices Aryn take down the Customer, "No! The shopkeep!" He points towards the man he's running after, hot on his trail.

"Well, drek that," Tallie exclaims with disgust as a shot whizzes by her. Leaning out with her blaster she makes two wild shots before falling back.

The ominous 'click-clack' of droid feet over unfeeling tile goes unheard as it comes up on Xenia's six. Walking death, masked by the shrieking streaks of blasterfire. She hears it too late, but that moment she does feels frozen in time. 'Greetings Friend.' Expressive brown eyes, locked in a sideways almost-stare with the motion of her comrades across the aisle, are suddenly made wider still. All trace of snark fades from her Lorrdian features and the brown skin smoothes into a mask of stoic acceptance.

Yup. This is it.

The raising of palms in proclammation of innocence is but a reflex - useless and stupid against the point blank discharging of well-charged plasma. Red flash. Hot whiff of ozone.

Those knuckles drop limply back to the shop floor, framing her frazzled splay of curls. Whenever Nova looks next down at her supine form, there'll be a glassy-eyed stare meeting her gaze. IS she alive? It's going to take a miracle to make it so. The smoldering crater carving through her central, descending aorta (midline of body) says as much.

"Leg," was the quiet called shot from Greeson Rais, buildings away, before he took it. The EZ-Snap lacked a stun setting, which would have made this a lot easier. But that guy needed to be stopped and he needed to be stopped right now. The customer impacted into the speeder at the same time Greeson's rifle erupted. The sharp lance of light carved through the shopkeep's hip, as Greeson's training for center mass had been far too good and not even he could counter that, separating the man from his leg and causing him to go careening to the ground.

There was a sickening crack.

Having impacted face-first against a rock, the shopkeeper found his neck twisted into an unsurvivable position, so he clearly didn't. Greeson took a moment to assess the situation before he came out with, "...bastard! Relocating." With years of experience in dismantling in moving in a hurry, he split his rifle into its two component pieces and returned it to his bag, snagged his climbing rope, his tea thermos (which he chugged on liberally) and made for his escape route.

The merceneries keep on shooting at the droids which shoot back as well, blaster fire sounds within the place, then the droids begin to power away from the weapons, while two of them begin to speak, "Initiating protocol 61, third party program found." It is then that they begin to spin up with the program, and it becomes pretty obvious to those there, "A self destruct! Get out of this place!" the mercenary leader exclaims, though he moves to pick up Xenia to assist with whichever of the others will, so they can bring her onto the street.

The customer is then picked up by the Force and meets the speeder while he is rolling onto his back, "Not me, get him!" he points to the shopkeep, when he sees the blaster strike his leg, then he looks like he's satisfied, although he sees that it looks like things didn't go too well for him. Before he's killed, he does call back to the others, "For Rori!", and the shopkeep is then in pieces, all over the whole of the street. Aryn manages to keep from being covered in it as well. It looks like he had a switch prepared also.

Aryn is following the more experienced Nova Korell when she says the place is about to blow! The moment they reach a safe distance, Aryn's attention goes to Xenia, where she draws upon her influence over the force to channel an unseen energy into the woman's body. It is a sustaining energy that keeps her from dying out right, but in order to properly save her life, Aryn will have to focus on stabilizing her if she's got any chance of walking away. It's the work of a miracle, but Aryn manages to save her only after exhausting the medical supplies she carries in her satchel.

Elrych skids to a stop as the blaster bolt strikes his prey, the man cracking his head against a rock and dieing. "Stang!" He says leaning over, hands on his knees, "For Kriff sakes!" He shakes his head. "Guys... I'd get the KRIFF out of there! He did some werid suicide bomber drek out here. Like, thumb on the button I'mma get 20,000 virgins in the afterlife drek!" He looks back towards the store, moving back towards Aryn as he awaits the explosion. "Xenia got shot real bad." He comments to her, "Help her if you can." He is sort of pleading. He places his hands in front of him and tried all his best to do that one thing he did that one time. THe shield, that saved those from the explosion on the ship that was trapped. Half of the blue wall forms, before his concentration breaks and he can't take it anymore. He falls to he rump, breathing heavily and sweating, unable to contain the explosion. Though the Doc is already on it all the Jedi Initiate can do is watch the place explode.

The message comes over coms for the group to get the drek out of Rori. Tallie is up and running crouched, dodging as much as the narrow aisle allows her. She bursts out the front door, behind her the store strobes with light as the timed bomb ignites. With a nearly controlled crash and roll she skids across the sidewalk. "Well, ouch."

There's an ignition, and it looks like a part of the shop is taken from within by the explosion. With all that being said, it doesn't extend beyond entrance to the place. The mercenaries look to the place the shopkeeper was, then looks over to the others that are coming from the shop also. The leader motions for his other friends to get into the transport, while he walks up into it also. He waves to the team, "You all, I trust you to not go to the police about this. Follow the trail," he then steps back into the speeder.

Aryn is managing to save Xenia, then it looks like a part of the shop has flames that are lightly shifting about. One of those people from earlier, one that was taken to the floor by the droid comes from the entrance covered in crimson, while he leans back, speaking to those that are there. "The pirates, you can't let them win, we followed all of them here, to their group on Naboo. They want to... The technology, they want to use it to create another revolution, one to destroy technology. Their slicer, I've not seen anyone like him," he says. Then, he's away, like that. There's a computer which survived part of the whole explosion, which is next to the team, for whichever one of them would like to pick it up also.
