Resistance: What a Piece of Junk!

OOC Date: November 16, 2019
Location: Raxus Prime
Participants: Rey, Ektor, Elrych Cometburn, Lofty, Merek, Zandra naMuriel, Tallissan Lintra, The Resistance

It had been a lengthy search to even get this far: the quest to recover the remains of a T-6 shuttlecraft destroyed in the Bonadan System had first turned up a team of scrappers who had claimed salvage on the wreck. A.. we'll call it a /conversation/ between the scrappers and several Tionese pirates had revealed that the *Starbird* had been picked over for any valuable components and added to the load of a junker barge bound for Raxus Prime.

That information, along with a best guess as to *where* on the planet the barge had dumped cargo were forwarded to one Tallissan Lintra, and friends with the advice not to wait long, as if the shuttle's remains weren't recovered soon, there might not be anything left to find.

Now, here they were: with a Starseeker corvette in low orbit, optimistically awaiting word from the ground team that the wreck of the *Starbird* had been found and was ready for pickup. But on the ground, surveying the vast detritus of the galaxy's mechanical graveyard, the ground team might be forgiven for a moment's despair.

Ektor turns a wary look around the junk fields, muttering, "Circlet of the Tion, my ass." A sharp exhale follows through his breathing filter, and the swaggering pilot peers at his datapad. "Arright, so in addition to any shuttles, Chief said she could use any proton triggers annnd.. functional power couplings, so.. eyes peeled, yeah?" Shortly after saying so, he chooses an unstable step, and a portion of rusted durasteel plating gives way under one boot, making him about half a meter shorter. "I'm alright!" he claims, climbing up and out of his personal crater.

Merek begins placing pieces of his armor onto him, until he has the full black attire on with the helmet, low-light on. He begins scanning the horizon with his gaze, "I think we can use this," while he comes upon a few things to pick up in thought, power coupling he finds.

Lofty may have ripped off or threatened to rip off a few limbs from the Tionese pirates during their interrogation. But now he is on the ground team of the poisonous world, searching with both sets of eyes for the Verpine shuttle. His boopsnoot is covered by an awkward-fitting breathing mask that doesn't really give it room to properly move. He carries a massive toolbox in his left paw. "Lofty hope there are no Jawas. If Jawas stripped it, we never get it flying. Might as well buy new ship." The large woolly Talz points to what looks like the freshest pile of trash in this sector of the junkyard. “There!"

First rule, don't sneeze in a rebreather. Of course, all her wipes are in her flight suit. Sniffing and trying not to laugh at Ektor after she's made sure he is okay, Tallie tests a piece of metal and climbs carefully to the top of a heap of unidentifiable scraps. Dialing the macrobinocs to something comfortable for her she turns in place, little (careful) steps to see three hundred and sixty. Even reinforced steel tip boots and an armored flight suit don't feel like enough to protect her from the jagged pieces of metal jutting up from toppled piles. The fuselage of a ship sticks out sitting as though freshly deposited on a distant pile. Making a 'can't be that face' she swings by it and goes on looking. Something draws her back.

"Got it. Or got something.”

Rey is searching, dutifully for what they'd come all this way for. Beside her, a small droid is floating, a droid that had accompanied her from the starport where the Falcon had settled down, it had spoken to her in binary and said it was eager to help out however it could but it also said it had basically no helpful programming what so ever and had just been thrown away on this world, discarded and forgotten...

So having the heart that she does, Rey accepts the very not helpful help of the floating droid who'd offered her help.

"Oh look!" Rey says to anyone, or just the droid. She crouches down and picks up a small power influx conduit that she stands with and adds to the pile inside of the bag she is holding at her side. "My word, there's so much here." She quietly comments, hopping over to another junk pile with one nimble long step/jump, her clothing fluttering in the wind around her form as she goes.

"It smells worse than Jakku, but goodness... I could've ate for eons off of what can be scavenged in this place..." It might seem a little odd how excited the young woman is to be picking in this junk yard... but, she's kind of an odd mynock in her own little ways.

The droid floats along with her, happily beeping at everything she picks up, even though it has no idea what any of the items are, it's just happy that she's happy.

Zan follows along after the group. Her eyes widen as Ektor says they're to find 'things' for the Chief. The only things she might recognize would have to be related to an A wing at this point, and well, probably not so lucky. She steps around the hole that Ektor has created, and finds her own. There's a moment of alarm, and then she carefully climbs out, thankful she didn't sink quite so far down as the taller fellow. "This is quite the location," she decides. "Full of junk, alright." She picks up a piece, lets it fall. Whether it was useful or not, she's got no clue. But whatever it is, she's not taking it.

Ektor limp-tromps his way over and around the heaps of junk, picking a high spot to peer around in all directions, shaking his head at the view. "Get rekked, El-rock," he chuckles back at the Corellian, before agreeing, "Yeah, it is. No lie though?" he adds, with a sniff of amusement at Rey's enthusiasm, "Least somebody's happy to be here. Ya know supposedly this rock used to be the fanciest planet in the galaxy?" Another shake of his head. Even through filters every drawn breath tastes of acrid ozone, and rust. When Lofty and Tallie (who gets a merry middle finger for her laugh at him) find the location of the latest junk deposit, he drawls dryly to the Talz, "What's a Jawa?"

Picking steps toward the promising leads, the group can see another garbage scow lower from high atmosphere at a distance of perhaps a dozen kilometers, until it pours out another cascade of rubbish onto the surface. It doesn't affect the party's goal, but the arrival of more off world trash is clearly frequent.

Merek looks over to the team, lifting his brow with the mention of the Jawa. "A what?" He then lifts his F-11 while he uses the scope for a locating, "I found a few things," he says, then he maneuvers to pick up what looks a bit useful, compared with the power coupling. He takes a few of those modulating devices to place into a pack that his 3P0 is carrying also.

Lofty picks his way carefully toward their targeted junkpile. To Ektor he warbles, "Jawa is little smelly scavenger. Jawa love junk." He could be describing Rey, since she was (or is) a scavenger, but surely Jawas are different.

With a joyful flip of her hand at Ektor, Tallissan returns the love and clambers down her pile of trash to climb up another deceptively stable looking pile. She stares in the direction of the still fairly new looking fuselage saying to the group, "Alright, my pick this time. I say that looks a lot like the body of a T-6 without wings over there. Well, there is something silver and red and the right shape.”

Another piece of 'junk' is found by Rey and dropped into her bag of goodies. The little floating droid beside her is happily chirping something to her in its form of droids-speak and she's grinning at it, even laughing. "No no, that wasn't an air filter, it was a power absorption tank. For like, a lamp." She glances up to the droid and smiles at its little glowing blue sensor. "You really don't know up from down do you?" She teases the droid who just raises its little metal hands up on either sides of it and does a 'shrug' gesture. This gets a grin from Rey.

As she jumps over to another little pile, she looks over to Ektor and shows him a big grin, she does look happy even if its a strange place and time to be so. "It seems like the improper descriptor for such a place, or such a mission, but... there's a lot here, its hard not to see it for what it is. A veritable gold mine... so to speak." She glances to Zandra then and grins over the distance between them to the other. "Come now, there's more here than meets the eye..."

Speaking of which, she does see something down below. "No. Way." She states with a gasp and hops off of what she's standing on, then sticks her arm between a tight space of junk and tries to reach at something that is just out of her finger's stretch.

With a exhale, Rey steps back. She concentrates, with a little loose strand of hair flickering across her face in the wind she raises her hand and spreads the Junk apart with the power of the Force...

... Its possible Rey is a bit distracted from their mission...

She runs inside the little junk-made alcove she's created and can be heard laughing ecstatically inside of it. Apparently she found something she likes?

Elrych Cometburn shakes his head mire following along with the others than actually searching. "Honestly, Rey. It really all looks the same to me. Then again I didn't have your particular upbringing or experiance." He sighs, trying not to think about the smell. "Shouod have brought eggsy."

Zan just watches wide eyed as Rey practically disappears. "Uhm, okay," she says, shaking her head. "You're right," she puts in. "There's a lot of ammunition for - throwing at people." She shrugs, and continues to walk, picking up a small piece of metal and just tossing it up, catching it, tossing it up, catching it. It's not anything of value, just a useless piece of scrap metal, but it's at least keeping her somewhat focussed. "I'm game to go that way, Sunshine," she says. "But we may want to keep an eye on - the cackling gleeful one over there." Rey of course, who has made herself a junk cave.

The fallen T-6 shuttle was a burnished silver with red edging when last most had seen it. The traces of red paint are what first catch the eye, as none of the silver plating remains. What Tallie had thought to be silver was just the glint of light off some unpleasant moisture that had collected on the stripped hull. Cavernous engine housings have had the fine machinery picked out, the upper wing housing is largely absent, with the ominous round bite of a turbolaser blast having covered the remainder of the upper fuselage with carbon scoring. Even the transparisteel panels of the canopy have been pried out for re-use. Of the interior components, more inspection will be needed to verify if anything is left. The lower wing has been warped by the fall, and sits at a visible bend beneath the bulk of what was once some large speeder truck.

Ektor peers curiously after Rey as the giggles and telekinesis announce something positive. "A gold mine?" he echoes with a crooked grin and raised brow. Aside to Elrych, he mutters, "Is it weird that she's so happy? I mean, it's a good thing, yeah? But it feels kinda weird." Raising his voice a bit, he calls with a chuckle, "Hey, Blue! What you got in there?" When Tallie points out the remains of the Starbird, Ektor winces. "Well. Uh.. could be worse?" he ventures. "Unless anybody is feeling extra burly, I don't know if we can get that speeder off the bent wing. Huh. Whelp. Let's see about stabilizing what's left for floating up into the sky, yeah?”

Merek makes his way to Starbird, beginning to assist with preparing the ship for its transport, while he looks to the team with a nod.

Lofty isn't really sure how to go about reinforcing the Verpine shuttle. "There nothing left," he complains over the hiss of his oxygen mask. He gives the remaining wing a kick. "Gyroscope will take long time to fix. Bugs make everything rotate." Verpine starship designers love their rotating cockpits, as in the B-Wing and the T-6 shuttle. He opens his toolbox and takes out a magnetic mooring attachment which will focus part of the tractor beam on a structurally weak part of the ship - with these attached, hopefully it will not break up in the tractor beam.

"Could it be worse?" The indefatigable Lintra is not sounding like a ray of sunshine through her rebreather. "Have we arrived too late?" She glances from face to face that run the full gambit from Rey's seeming zest at being here to Ektor's veiled skepticism then on to Lofty's full tilt engineering nerdiness. "I'm thinking that we are going to have to move that truck off the wing. But is this worth it, Ektor?”

As Rey continues to make excited noises inside of the little alcove of garbage she's created for herself, the droid that has been following her from the landing field floats just outside of her junk cave's entrance watching her. "Its a Pretty Pulgas!" Rey shouts from inside of said alcove, and emerges a moment later, holding the 'Pretty Pulgas' up to prove it...

In her hands is a... well its a horse. But its a horse made for children as it has brightly colored pink'ish purple'ish fury and a bright blue mane... or what used to be. Now it is garbage and it is dirty, matted fur and its even dripping a bit of fluid off of its feet. "I saw a child with one of these on Jakku when I was... gosh, I don't even know, -years- ago!"

The little hovering droid is enjoying Rey's enthusiasm for this discovery, so it plays along and its little metal hands go up to slap against what would pass as its 'cheeks' on either sides of the little bright blue vision receptor. It chirps out a series of excited beeps for Rey finding this.

"I always wanted one! They would gallop about and follow you around... You see they have droid parts inside of them." Rey explains to anyone who's listening as she's walking to where everyone is gathered. Of course the reality of it all starts to settle in as she sees the condition its in, her brow furrows and she sniffs at the Pretty Pulgas toy. "It desperately needs a /bath/ though." she admits. "Here." she offers it to the floating droid who quickly grabs onto it, and sinks about a whole foot in the air, but tries to carry it for Rey, adding a little more juice into its anti-gravity propulsion to flutter up higher in the air again, Pretty Pulgas in-tow beneath it.

Rey exhales then and starts to look the shuttle over. "I can fix this." She says, looking to Ektor. "We all can..." Her eyes go to Zandra and Elrych. "Can you two get that truck off of its wing?" She asks of her Jedi companions while she sets her bag of 'goodies' down and reaches for tools on her belt around her waist...

"This should be fun." She tries to stay positive, giving a smile toward Tallie. "We have everything we need here, I'm sure of it.”

Elrych Cometburn is walking backwards as the others discover the shuttle. He has put an earbud in one of his ears, liatening to some tunes to pass the time. As ye turns though he trips on something and tumbles down into the crevas of junk, his fall only ceased by the shuttle its self. Standing up, he brushes himself off. "Oh... Thats what you all are going on about." With a nod to Rey he takes a deep breath and claps his hands together before stretching them out to assist with the space magic.

Zan frowns at the needed repairs. "Way past my skill level," she says. She instead eyes the speeder truck, taking a deep breath and concentrating as she tries to use the force to raise it enough to move it. She tries, but nothing happens. She takes a step forward, slipping and landing on her butt with an ow. Definitely that truck didn't move at all. But Zan is now really glad that she has the armour suit on, and that it has a full helmet. "Ow," she says again, scrambling up to her feet. She rubs at her head, as she glances around, and discouraged, for a moment, she simply slouches and turns to look around anywhere but at the ship salvage operations. It's a stinky horrible place with treacherous footing and far too many pieces of junk everywhere. Uncomfortable, Zan mutters under her breath, "Now I see why we had to stay on ths ehip at places like this.”

Ektor winces as he eyes the cockpit. "I'm.. gonna hop down into the guts and see if the... spinning part-" Lofty supplies the correct word, "Right! Gyroscope. That's what I said. I'm gonna see if the gryo- ..Gyro. Drek, I forgot already. The Gyro-spinny part is in one piece." Clunking and clattering from inside follows, as Ektor's reverbrating yells echo out to answer Tallie, "So I got some good news and some bad news. What you want first? Actually, I've got two of each. Wait, more bad news- I'm gonna start with the bad news," he decides. "So the housing around the spinny-part is cracked, but it ain't a full break, and I'm pretty sure I can weld it good enough to survive the trip upstairs. Gonna reiforce the wing bracket, too. That's good, yeah? More good news: the reactor is still in here and it didn't blow out. Looks like they pulled out the cyrstal bits that go into the core? But we can get more a those. Power couplings are gone, but that's easy. Most of the wiring got left behind- Say, how come bugs make everything spin?" he wonders, at random, as the hiss and burn of a welding torch being ignited can be heard from the depths of the ship.

Merek has been watching Rey when she maneuvered away, to make sure she's safe, he then makes a way from the ship while he looks to the toy horse, squinting a bit, "If you want toys, I have like a little collection, though they're mostly collector's edition," he says. He offers also to assist Zan upwards, if she permits. Then he's making a way to look for things with them. He then picks up what looks like a magazine from a TIE, then he brings the proton triggers to the team, "This is useful ya friends?”

Lofty is still looking around the fuselage for stress points to slap those magnetic braces on. But then he finds it. A rare discarded (yet full) can of Jedi Juice, special Life Day edition flavored with Kashyyykian wasaka berries. And the can is in near-mint condition, having been contained in an old mini-fridge. "Look! Jedi Juice! Very rare!" He holds up the can in his claw, pondering whether he should drink it.

"Lofty," Tallie calls. "Look at the date on the can before you go drinking that. We have enough to salvage on our hands." Grim faced Tallie has helped the group to get the fuselage uncovered, discovering the missing power couplings and the inexplicable wiring left behind. Her flight suit shows streaks of dirt and a few welding burns. She wants to itch her nose but doesn't dare lift up the rebreather.

"Have these people never heard of recycling?" Tallie pulls her foot up and shakes it like a loth cat. Trying to ignore what is on her boot, she picks a path over to Ektor and Zandra begins to say something and stops at the sight of the salvage droid.

"Really not a bad life philosophy. Me, after a hard night out, certainly," she says with a frown that grows deeper as the droid approaches.

With her things set down, Rey starts to go to work on putting together the basics of what they'll need to repair the shuttle. She even builds a small table with some junk laying around... that she then uses to spread out a series of parts in organized categories for where they go inside of a standard starship setup. "Almost every ship in the galaxy has the same core elements inside of it." She'd say as she starts to work. "Its just up to the individual starship companies to design how they put it all together..."

The droid that is holding her reclaimed Pretty Pulgas horse settles it down onto the ground and then lands on top of it, like it is the horse's rider. It sits there and chirps happily while watching the people do their weird people-stuff.

Rey glances over to Merek and offers him a soft smile. "Oh, no, thats okay. Thank you though. This was just something I saw when I was... young, and, you know... It was exciting to see it again." She glances to the droid on the brightly colored trashy smelling Pulgas plush droid.

Once Rey sets out to work, she does so by establishing a series of ropes from her bag that she uses to ascend the ship more easily, climbing around on it to deliver the parts that need to be changed, replaced or simply pulled...

When she returns to the work station she'd setup she pauses then and looks around. "Something is coming." She says, turning to the others. "It could be trouble."

Elrych Cometburn looks around but can't quite see or hear for that matter the broken record of a junker droid heading his way. "Yeah... its something big..." He agrees with Rey taking his earbud out and putting it away.

Zan isn't looking at the starbird ruins, instead she's looking around at everything but. she did get a hand up from Merek, and that got him a smile and a thank you. Now though, she's staring out at the approaching droid with a look of complete and utter confusion. "What the heck is that?" she asks, "It doesn't /look/ that dangerous?"

The oncoming junk droid is not moving quickly, dragging itself along on mismatched limbs. One hinged arm ending in R2 treads screeches and scrapes to haul it forward, while another spider-like limb shifts the buck of what appears to be the housing of a former load lifter. Dragging itself toward the ground team, a broken record in binary.

Though such a droid might pose a threat to a smaller and less heavily armed party (Rey's useless new hovering friend hides behind her at its approach), a more immediate worry comes in the rumbling of the deep junk underfoot. A tremor, or a brief, distant junk-quake. Yet the effect on the native droids is one of visceral panic. In a motion of startling alacrity, a wide panel of rusted durasteel a hundred feet wide lifts , propelling a scattering of junk into the air to reveal some amalgamated horror of droidcraft; dozens of droids appear to have been welded together into a vast metallic cancer of body and limbs, one of which seizes the little lumbering junk droid in a three 'fingered' grip, sparking with arc welders as it fuses the trapped droid to itself. Dozens of optical sensors pivot in every direction, before fixing on the party.

Merek lifts up the F-11 which he was picking up when he notices the droid which is assailing the team. He begins to take a shot which manages to clean into the air right next to the droid, scorching the metal but not actually striking. All the same it looks awesome. "Fire!"

Lofty is putting his special can of soda pop into his satchel, reassuring Tallie about the expiration date. "Jedi Juice don't go bad... What?" The large alien feels a rumble and draws his bowcaster, pulling the bowcaster from his whip-scarred back. "Watch out!" He pulls the bowcaster's cocking cord and both polarizing orbs on the sides of the barrel start to hum. Two quarrels are fired, superheating and accelerating immediately after leaving the barrel of his weapon. Two 'core' droids are struck and shatter. The pushback from the massive bowcaster nearly makes Lofty tumble off the T-6 shuttle's fuselage.

Wide-eyed Tallie backs up to bring out her gun. It takes the little droid that has accompanied Rey being sucked off its perch and welded into the mass of disparate parts for it to really make sense. The rumble of its approach can be felt through the fuselage she stands on. The bowcaster does fantastic damage but nearly knocks the Talz off; she grabs a handful of white fur to steady him. Her puny S-5 takes one of the droids out of the assemblage out.

When the massive mass of metal masses make their monstrous appearance, Rey's eyes go wide at the sight of it. Its intimidating, its impressive yes, but still intimidating. Her hand drops down to her belt and she first feels the knife in its sheath behind her blaster before she just raises her other hand and her eyes go to the speeder truck that had been dislodged from the T-6 Shuttle.

Her dark eyebrows draw into a furrowed line and Rey calls out to the Force, feeling it flowing through the yard around them, all through them, she feels its presence within the Truck itself and with a suddenly lashing out of her Rey's hand the speeder truck lifts up in the air and zips toward the bulk of the metal beast!

When it crashes into the droid monster, Rey reaches down to her belt and then draws her lightsaber into her hand, the polished metal of the saber's hilt slapping into the soft palm of her hand with a little clapping noise as she turns and starts to run up a ledge of junk to try to get a better vantage point of the rest of the attacks going on around them…

"Okay, I was wrong," Zan says. Seriously. Her eyes go wide, and she scrambles back a few steps as that huge multidroid monster arises. "Oh crikey, that's - " Pause. Swallow. She reaches for her pistol, but decides that blaster pop gun isn't going to do anything against the large behemoth or it's tentacle arms. Instead, she shoots a piece of junk at the nearest tentacle, but it skids off, skipping across piles of junk like it's a pond.

The menacing mechanic is battered and blasted, raising a dozen uniform screeches of binary as it haltingly turns to bring the backside of its core to bear on the organic interlopers. Seemingly undeterred by any destruction wrought on its component parts, the grasping and welding limbs harshly seize hold of Merek's protocol droid, seeking to add it to the amalgamation.

As he blasts away a pair of attacking arms, dodging one in turn, Ektor considers the metallic horror, and muses, "Yanno, it's almost kinda cute, yeah?”

Merek fires again at the droids, while it scorches again upon the side of one of them. He watches while the droid gets picked up, although his focus is on keeping the team pretty safe.

Lofty closes his bottom set of eyes as Rey activates her bright blue light-sword. "Keep it away from ship!" The Talz steps forward unsteadily on the hill of twisted metal, firing two more quarrels that are immediately enveloped in orange plasma. "Too many droid!”

The fetid wind that the mechanical arms stir up as it misses her seeps through the rebreather. Tallie flinches and ducks sliding to the other side of the fuselage. Arms windmilling to get out of its way she skids down the rest of the round polished surface.

Before she has slid out of sight, she raises her voice, in exasperation, "Only you would find that cute, Ektor. Drek, I'd rather fight a TIE any day!" The bright spot in her fall is finding a near perfect proton trigger at the bottom of the heap. Popping from around the corner of her wrecked shuttle she shoots another of the core droids out of existence. The deep droning song of a lightsaber being swung reverberates around them.

Once at the top of her junk hill, Rey is spinning around to check on the 'battlefield' as it stands now, just in time to feel the Force call out to her on the dangers of a droid arm sweeping for her.

She ducks! Right underneath the swiping droid arm from the massive metal monster!

And with a snap-hiss of raw power, her bright blue lightsaber beam extends and is sent upward and outward in a arcing swipe that sends it right through that very same arm as it tries to retreat from her!

  • SSSSSSS-ZAT!!*

Sparks fly from the metal arm! It's end detaches and rolls down the hill of junk, with the severed end glowing brightly from where the lightsaber had passed through it... Atop the hill, Rey holds her saber up near her side and stares at the droid while the others attack it as well.

Zan's miss on the droid arms maybe drew attention to them, and as others take care of that poor 3p0 droid, Zan recenters. She finds a good size chunk of metal, pulls herself together and shot-puts it into a flying arc aimed directly at the core. This time the force is with her, and there's a concerted concentration. The metal slams into the core, and one more poor droid is smushed.

"What can I say, I got a thing for welders, yeah?" Ektor cracks wise at Tallie. Taking aim at the metal monstrosity's general core, his shots darken one set of optical sensors, but this time enough of the core remains intact that a series of electrical discharges and grinding servomotors accompany the revelation of a light blaster cannon, which unloads four times. While he isn't directly struck by the artillery blast, Ektor is nearby one blast point which sends a durasteel beam crashing into his head, ragdolling the Tionese pilot for a moment. If not for the helmet, he'd be dead. Even with it, blood flows freely into his face from a gash in the scalp. "Okay, OW.”

Merek takes a moment to position while his droid becomes free from the junk droid. While he does that, he lifts up the scope, firing upon another of those core droids that blasts clean through the one of them also.

Lofty hops over another piece of metal, attempting to shield Zandra naMuriel from losing all of her Jedi Juice, so to speak. "Get down!" he warbles at her. Another bowcaster quarrel is accelerated by his weapon's polarizing globes, zipping toward the giant droid's core and exploding with predictable results.

Inexorably the thing comes on them, its shadow darkening the damaged remnants of Tallie's ship. Crouching she moves towards Ektor whose quip is the last thing she hears before a crack and ow tells her that he's been hit. Moving low, she comes up on his side to grab an arm and look into his bloody face.

"You and your thing for welders. We're going to get you and this piece of junk back so she'll have something to work on." Lifting her blaster she sights for one of the moving arms…

Rey doesn't duck the arm attack this time, no she goes vertical in the form of a well timed leap when she sees the arm sweeping toward her. "Look out!" She calls out to Elrych as he'd joined her on the junk mountain!

Rey shoots up into the air and lands on the arm, she starts to run up the top of it as it moves away again, her lightsaber growling at her side as she scurries her way up the droid to its 'shoulder'.

Once at the shoulder, Rey's lightsaber holding hand swings out and she sends the blade twirling downward to strike at as many droids as she can before she leaps off of the droid and calls her saber back to her hand!

With a short soar through the air, Rey lands again now on the ground, her saber back in her grasp she spins around to see the others, watching for another chance to strike!

This is quite the fight, the droidthingy seriously big, and terribly dangerous. Zan however forgets to duck and so when that thing lets loose with its light cannons, she gets broadsided right in the torso. It sends her backwards even as she tries to flip more heavy junk atop it. The heavy junk lifts and then lands in front of the super saiyan droid thing, perhaps fanning it a bit, and raising the stench. Meanwhile, Zandra screams once and then collapses into a small puddle of pain. "OWWWWWW" She may not be conscious for long.

Merek keeps scorching the core droids sides, like he's trying to. He then looks to Zan while he maneuvers to the woman and takes up a defensive position, "You alright?" he asks, while he lifts up his F-11D.

There's only a couple of cores left. And Lofty shoots them both. He stands protectively over Zandra, since she was bashed about, and fires his massive bowcaster from the hip. PEW PEW. The quarrels streak forward and explode, utterly disabling the giant multi-droid in a shower of sparks. Always sparks.

Not one but two of their number is down. After the nimble Rey has miraculously leaped on top of the droid and taken out more of its core, the arm weakened by Tallie's shot falls off. With a shove, Tallie tries to prop Ektor. "Done, Lofty finished it off Ektor. Zandra is wounded, too. I want out of here as soon as we can manage it. Give me your com so we can tractor this mess up and get everyone out of here."

Rey stands on the outskirts of the fight now after her last maneuver. She watches as Lofty takes the last two shots that cause the Droid Construct to topple over and it makes Rey exhale a sigh of relief.

Her lightsaber is deactivated, the blade slides back into the silver hilt.

As she walks now toward her friends she clips the blade's hilt back onto her belt and beneath the canvas bag she has over her torso, where she generally keeps the saber hidden out of view of others who might see her.

She moves toward where Zandra is, then her eyes go to Ektor. "We have to get going." She makes the obvious statement. "I believe the repairs on the shuttle are mostly ready... We need to get the wounded aboard it if possible."

Her gaze goes toward the downed droid monster. She'd lost her little friend and her recovered droid horse toy. Such is the way of things. Her stare goes back to the others and she moves to help with the wounded.

Elrych Cometburn is on the otherside having let the droid move off as Lofty took his shots. His breathing is even, chest rising and falling with the exertion of his attacks. Sweat glistens at his brow. He deactivates his own Lightsaber and returns it to his belt. "Yeah we gota jet."

Zandra would agree with everyone, except that she's really not talking. instead she's slipped unconscious, and is now oblivious to all that is going on.

The mechanoid tumor still functions, even as its varied parts are carved down and blasted apart. It gets off one last burst of cannon fire, which misses Ektor more out of dumb luck than any art or Tionese design, as Lieutenant Head-wound staggers and sways out of the murderous bolt's path. The fusillade of bowcaster bolts finally darken the last lights at the rusted ruin's core, its tonnage collapsing back into the junk below, setting the false surface of Raxus Prime to swaying and rattling. Ektor, wiping at his eyes again, wonders, "Did I get it?" Tallie's report is questioned as the com is handed over in mostly the correct direction. "Are you sure?"

Communications to the waiting Starseeker will bring the heavy freighter into tractor beam range soon, and the team can claim its prize and get the hell off of Raxus.
