Rogue Squadron: The Battle of Gem Diver Station

OOC Date: November 2, 2020
Location: Gem Diver Station, Yavin
Participants: Jax Greystorm, Sajin, Jehni'va Cihn, Zandra naMuriel, Neander, David Ironside, Karas Darkwing, Ax, Tallie Lintra, Lofty

It was a standard day on Gem Diver Station, civilian traffic coming and going. Rogue Squadron had been in the area on patrol, when one of the fighters in the squadron's hyperdrive started acting up, causing the squadron to sit down on the station to refuel and refit. Most of the Squad on patrol outside the station.

In Central Control of the station, one of the radar technicians was watching the comings and going of the traffic in the Yavin Station. When a pair of large contacts appear on the edge of the system. The Twi'lek 's eye goes wide and flips a switch to his com unit, <Control to G.D.3. I'm seeing the arrival of two capital ships that appear to be deploying a large amount of smaller contacts. Please confirm.> There's a moment later a static voice comes returning back on the com, <This is G.D. 3. There are two Star Destroyers, deploying Ties. I repeat two Star.... *Static*> The Twi'lek's jaw drap, "Kriff me." He says, hitting the stations alarm. Then calls out, "We need the boss!"

Life has been relaxing since the big race. Jehni'va Cihn, captain, pilot, and owner of Shug Ninx's old place, has been enjoying a lull of business amidst financial prosperity. In short? She's taking a vacation some time to float aimlessly through space, no worries, no obligations. To reflect this, the pilot wears an open button-up shirt (with a ridiculous flower pattern, naturally) over a sleeveless shirt and dirty, loose shorts, and is absolutely blitzed out of her mind. After all, it isn't like she's going to be flying anymore tonight! She's bought her berth, refueled, tuned up the engines, and hunkered down aboard her HWK Maccrow freighter for the night. She's lounged in the cargo hold, Crona the anooba lazing at her feet, when all hell breaks loose over the radios.

"CO'PO WHAT'S HAPPENIN'?" The Coruscanti woman shouts, scrambling (a little wobbly) towards the cockpit. She's fumbling into the pilot's seat, and buckling the anooba into the co-pilot's spot behind her, when the droid answers in a string of beeps and whistles. "We're being shot at by /what/? Oh, for th'love a- kriff this. I thought we were done with this fraggin' idiocy?!" The Fool's Rush comes to life, feeding her spatial data through the goggle attachment which takes the functional space of window views. There are a lot of little dots approaching. "That's a lot. Alright, everybody hang onto yer butts - Co'pey, get me a light." A fresh rankweed cigarette rests between her lips - might as well keep the buzz going, no sense in wasting it.

<<"General broadcast to friendlies, this is Captain Jehni'va Cihn of th'Fool's Rush... Am I reading those sensors right?">> She broadcasts, already powering up weapons.

There was a secret to getting a propper Fizzglug. You see, if you got it on Nar Shadda and took the entire flight to Dantooine it'd water down before you drank it. Yavin was a bit closer to Dantooine than Nar Shadda so one day the King of Drik decided to hope in his E-Wing; Yellow 13 and fly his way out to Gem Diver station for a freshly carbonated Fizzglug. Not watered down.

He sipped the beverage gingerly through the start in his VOID suits helmet as he sat in the cockpit of his gunmetal camo with yellow trimmed E-Wing. Buckets, his murerous gambling ladies man of a droid was in the socket yelling at him for wasting time. "I know, I know we're supposed to be meeting the rest of the Flight on Dantooine soon. Would you relax? We'll get there don't worry." Sip sip sip, slurp slurp slurp.

He really didn't know Rogue Squadron was here. He wasn't really paying attention to that. Though what does catch the attention of the absentminded King was the apperation of Two Star Destroyers spewing out a wealth of TIE fights. "Oh... Oh Kriff me... why now. I JUST WANTED A FIZZGLUG." His hands go to flips switches and pull levers, the ship pushing away from it's births. Buckets echos that shields and targeting computer is comming up. He toggles the Republic Frequency, <<"This is King on Yellow 13.. anyone out there friendly? What's the game plan? WAIT JEHN... Jehn... I'm coming to you!">>

"Star Destroyer? Two of them? And after I already ate?" laments Lando Calrissian from behind his desk at the news crackles through his comms. The elder General groans as he moves to stand up, reaching for his cane so he can more easily make his way to the large viewport behind him. It's always a dark day when the First Order comes knocking, and this isn't likely to be an exception. "I have a bad feeling about this," he says, turning to march back to his desk where he depresses the button on the comm.

<"This is Administrator Calrissian. We need all hands on deck. If you're in fighting shape, now's the time to prove it. If you're not; seek shelter, and fast! And may the Force be with you.">

Patrols continue, taking Rogue out to quadrants that had been hotly contested before Exegol. But the contest for wealth has never stopped, and Gem Station attests to it. The station built around a planet known for its rare gems is nearly brand new. Construction continues on some parts of the station. Floating off station Commander Lintra runs scan following protocol. The station reminds her of an aquatic animal, its docking stations like tentacles dripping below its round head. Despite the excellent mechanics and engineers on call on Chandrila, a maintenance stop pulled Rogue Squadron into a non-routine halt at the station. Still, the show must go on.

<<"Roger that Gem Station. Scans are showing unknown capital ships on station zenith. Rogue Squadron, we are on high alert. Report in.">> Opening the T-85's S-foils, Tallie moves the squadron toward the blips that are resolving into FO signatures on her scan. "Fiver, give me targeting solutions." <<"You heard the General. We will be the first line of defense! May the Force be with us.">>

Lofty is behind the flight sticks of the rickety blastboat HOTH HOG as he refuels on Gem Diver Station. A 3.78 liter bucket of parein sweetgrass and rillrrnn seed Slushdrink is being slurped via his proboscis and an extra long straw. His co-pilot, the Sullustan Haozipliirs Stebbs, is in the sensor cabin and sends up the comm alert. <<"Njogoo imwe nene Ni aroka!">> The loose translation is: a big rooster is coming. He begins to initiate pre-flight checks with the R2 unit while Lofty fires up their new set of engines. <<"Prepping to be launching!">>

Rogue 3 was flying along with the other members of the squadron, the T-85 X-wing not being the pilot's first choice of starfighters to fly, but it was what he was allowed to fly on missions with the defense force. "Keep alert, Buster," Ax says to the BB-series droid locked into the socket behind the cockpit. "If things get hairy, you've gotta be on top of repairs." The droid beeps a response that is transmitted to the Echani pilot's display, but Ax doesn't look, the audible tones of the droid heard via his helmet's speakers telling him all he needed to know. Patrols were either boring or insanely not boring. With the arrival of Destroyers, it was turning out to be the latter. <<"This is Rogue Three, reporting in,">> Ax says as he brings hits the button to unlock his ship's S-Foils and lock them into combat position.

"Yeah, did you check the plasma phase coil Twofie?" Neander asks, as he goes through his pre-flight checklist for what feels like the hundreth time. Twofie's annoyed beeping gets a roll of his eyes, "Look, I'm just saying, last time we forgot to check them and we had that feedback loop. I don't want that happening again!" It's at about this point when the station alert goes off, and Neander looks around, and starts flipping on his comms, to hear the announcement of a pair of Star Destroyers arriving in system and launching TIEs. He curses quietly and finishes his power-up sequence, "No time for niceties, we gotta go!" he calls over his shoulder to Twofie and then keys his comms to the Rogues' frequency, <"Rogue Six, four green and launching out of the station now, one moment and I'll be on your wing Five. If you can keep your horses in check in that A-Wing until I get there."> As soon as he's clear of the hangar, Neander flips his S-Foils open into attack position and angles his ship in the direction of the impending battle, all power diverted to engines while he zooms towards the Rogues.

First line of defense, only line of defense, it's all the same to David Ironside. His reaction to the sudden arrival of two Star Destroyers with TIEs pouring out of them is one of only mild surprise. <<"Rogue 8, all systems ready. What's the plan?">> he comms, his X-Wing shooting into action out of the patrol formation, s-foils opening as it goes.

It's a lazy patrol to start with, hanging out, checking the local ships - nice and enjoyable. At least for a bit. And then there's the call to alert status, and Zandra takes a long breath, closing her eyes for a brief moment. She reaches to calm herself, automatically. <<Rogue 5 reporting in, >> she says. << Systems green, and in position with you, Rogue Leader. >> No droid but Zan at least is here, and ready to hit that A wing throttle to the max. She hears her wingmate, and laughs softly. << Kick it, Six. We got company. >>

Karas was taking a nap in his fighter as they were getting refueled and refitted which honestly was good. That way they can keep at the top of their game. Karas stretches as Spark wakes him up at the time he asked his friend to wake him, "Thanks buddy. Hey bring up..." he stops when he hears what's going on and they are being asked to get ready. <<Rogue 2 here.>> he calls into his comms. Strapping himself back down into his seat and he shifts power to the engines, and equalizing power throughout the ship. Pushing his throttle up and moving to meet up with the rest of the squadron, first line of defense was always tricky. <<Siterep?>> he asks as he sits there looking through the canopy waiting for action.

In the distance there's a pair lights flashing, The Merciless and Ardex, the two Star Destroyers have gone to hyperspace. With the star destroyers gone, so does the enemy jamming data comes rolling across the Twi'lek Mission control. G.D.3 is screaming across channel, the twiek takes off the headset as he pulls out a tabac stick lighting it. His hands shaking as he takes the smoke from his lips. He exhales, "Boss, I'm seeing thirty Six Contacts (36), of various Tie models. I'm seeing Tie/SF, Tie/Fo, and something I've never seen before, the solar panels look like daggers. Also, G.D. 3 is out running them for now. The Kriffer ain't going to last long. Whose nephew was he again?"

The tie fighters were coming in waves, the Tie/Fos were in the lead as Vangaurd taking out G.D. 3 the T-70 gone in moments before the swarm moves on to GD 2 the wing man of G.D. 3. Further back the Tie/SF were making their way toward the station. The mysterious Tie daggers, painted red, the furthest back, they were there for terror, their targets the defenders and the civilian ships beginning to run as Lando had gave orders to get out.

Jax was in Rogue 9, he taps a picture of his wife and son. He breath deep, <Here they come. Rogue 9 is green. May the force be with you.>

<<"/Sajin/?">> Jehn laughs, taking a deep inhale of smoke. <<"Small galaxy. Look alive, pardner!">> At the order from Calrissian, the pilot gives the sloppy, mock salute of one whose never done military service. "Aye aye." She mutters, to herself and her 'crew'.

And they're off - it's been awhile since she's been in a fire fight, but old instincts don't die easy. "Oh look, there's Saj!" She tells the anooba, who has characteristically fallen back asleep amidst the whirl of action, and makes a bee-line for the TIEs, picking one and squeezing off a couple of shots. "Boomboom." She mouths, exhaling a cloud of smoke and preparing to take evasive action when they start retaliating - or they would, if her literal wingman didn't take them out of the action. "NICE!" She shouts to her cockpit, holding her hand up for a high-five that will be left unsatisfied. Because she's alone.

<<"It's me Baby!">> He shouts over the comms towards Jehn, clearly exstatic to find a friend in this aweful situation. He scrolls through the computer and targets the TIE that Jehn was after. The thick crimson red bolts of his sleek Snubfighter ripping through the TIE/fo and sending it mercilessly into a spinning sparking fireball of death. <<"HAHAHAH... how's that for even you Kriffin' huttsuckers... Alright Jehni... Just like that. you set 'em up and I'll finish up if they need it. Focus on one, then move to the next. Keep an eye on your sensors!">>

Despite his lack of tactical prowess and real solid book smarts and occasional common sense... he really did sound like he knew what he was doing in a Dog Fight.

The quick mustering of the station's defenses along with the civilians in the area that didn't scatter has Lando breathing a little bit easier. But still, there's two Star Destroyers out there, and two stars in-system. The one everything revolves around, /and/ the celestial body. Is that a dig at Malik Ren or a very true and honest statement about the good General. Only time will tell.

Lando lifts his free hand to smooth down any wayward hairs on his moustache and takes a deep breath. <"Everybody remember; be /careful/,"> he says, hunching over the desk once more. <"If you get start taking too much fire, get out of here. Remember that this is just a space station, they're a Mon Cal flan a dozen,"> he says, lying through his teeth, but more worried about the people out there fighting than his bottom line.

The capital ships belch two full squadrons of fighters, a mix of strengths and speeds all making a straight unequivocal line for Gem Station. <<"Rogue Leader on Beta One. They are coming in hot, folks. We have civilians in the mix as well.">> In the cockpit, Tallie watches one of the civ ships tag one of the incoming TIEs and hit him hard. "Ooooh, look at them go. Keep the civs tagged green for me Fiver. I want to see them come out of this fight in one piece. <<"Roger that General. We are doing are best. I'd like to know if you had been expecting company, sir or is this a surprise visit?"> Just as the words echo over coms, Tallie tags Beta One with a laser then pulls the T-85 into a hard turn to reengage.

Lofty's civilian HOTH HOG zooms out of the station over Yavin with bright blue Boshaa-C'hi ion drives leaving streaks of plasma in her wake. The engines are much newer than the rest of the fuselage, which looks to be a relic of the first civil war. The Talz locks forward his Senko Systems 5000 x2 "Tru-Lok" laser turret and begins firing immediately at BETA FIVE, clipping the fighter twice with orange blasts. Stebbs is working up a missile solution as the ships close. <<"HOTH HOG engage!">>

Ax took a deep breath to center himself before pushing his throttle to max. With his S-Foils locked open, the four laser cannons were ready to spit death at whatever TIE managed to flitter into his target reticle. "Lock down, Buster," he calls to his droid, last thing he wanted was the astromech's head flying off, it would be hell to find in a potential debris field. As one TIE drifts into his foreward field of fire, the Echani depresses the trigger on his flight controls to unleash a barrage of lasers from the X-wing's wing-mounted lasers. "Wow, I hope nobody saw that," he says, fortunately not over comms.

The speed boost that he put to his engines didn't burn them out, and got him to the engagement on time for the first wave. He ducks and weaves through incoming fire, and then snaps off a pair of blasts towards the same TIE FO that Rogue Leader fires at. Both bolts miss -- though not by much -- and he glances up at his scopes to see how the battle is shaping up, before he starts to pull a hard turn to pursue a TIE. Somehow he has ended up on Rogue Leader's wing, and he looks around for sign of his usual wingmate, <Where'd you go Five?>

David glances at his targeting systems as they light up with options. <<"Copy that Rogue Leader, I'm on target 8.">> he comms, pushing power to engines to make intercept speed. "Shields front, Ones." he instructs, not so worried about the rear right now. As he exchanges fire with his target, he calls out again. "Balance shields, let's go for another run at it!" the pilot calls, his targeting system locked on 8 now to see the damage he did.

Zan saw Ax out there with out a wing mate, and Neander following Tallie. Snap decision made, she promptly slips her throttle to full, and her A wing roars forth. There's a target in her head, and it's the same one that Ax is taking. << Rogue 5, backing up 3,>> she calls, letting everyone know. << Six, stay with our leader for now. >> Not that Zan would mind sticking with her wingmate, but everyone needs a buddy.

When the laser bolts start flying Karas flips the toggle for his S-Foils to lock into position. <<Alright Rogues, remember your training.>> the young Coruscanti says as he push his throttle forward as he streaks forward with the squadron. <<If you can pair off with one another.>> he says. He does see the civvies here as well, "Spark go ahead and mark the civvies as blue, squadmates as green." he says to his astromech. Spark quickly does as he is told, and Karas quickly is able to see how things are going.

As Rogue 2 streaks in weaving to get position, he sees one of the F/O TIES coming in at him, shaking his head, Karas gets a tone lock on the enemy TIE, "Sorry." he says and unloads a rapid burst of energy fire at the TIE blowing it up completely and Rogue 2 rolls through the small explosion, <<Splash 1 Eyeball.>> he says as he breaks and moves to catch up with Rogue leader as he will be her wingman.

<Rogue Squadron-OOC> Miri Telula seems to have stumbled upon Rogue Squadron and then also Rogue Squadron OOC. I'm not sure which one I had been using all this time, but I just want to be able to wave hello and be friendly.

G.D. 3 explodes in a rain of fire as the battle becomes a true fur ball. Lando's squadron gives as good as it gets and as the heroes and Gem Diver fight it out with the Tie/Fo. There was alot less Tie/Fo after the initial volley. Though the heroes are ignored for the moment as if the Tie/Fo squadron was here to send a message to Lando. They target his private security. G.D. one is gone and the battle just begun. The Tie/SF enter the frey, the twi'lek board lights up like Wookiee life day tree, "Boss, they got target locks on us! They're locking on the station!"

Jax is flying along with Rogue 9, <Rogues, I don't like this. They ain't targeting me.> Jax says as he scores a hit on one of the Tie/FOs.

"Co'po!" Jehn shouts over her shoulder, banking her ship hard to port as she seeks out a new target. "Play some tunes, c'mon it sounds like a funeral up here... And we definitely want th'opposite of a funeral up in this." At her behest, the droid reluctantly obliges, and Jehn gives a little whoop of approval. "Al-RIGHT." Now, each time she returns to broadcast, music can be heard blaring in the static behind her. <<"Rush incoming, don't shoot me.">> She politely offers to their military companions, engaging her freighter's gimballing systems and squeezing off another volley in passing, her ship rolling as she does. "Pew! Hah!" Jehn cackles, trying really hard not to think about the, you know, death she's intending to cause. When Sajin splashes another, she laughs into the comms, her voice almost drowned out by the sultry bugling of smooth jizz in the background. <<"Hey, I loosened that one up for ya.">>

<<"You treat me so well, Jehn Jehn...">> Sajin says as he makes another round, pushing hard on the throttle in a large loop to come about on the TIE that Jehni just fired on. He may not have music playing in his cockpit but the sound of the engines and blaster fire is all he needs to get his blood pumping. He lines up his craft and just as the targeting reticle on the HUD goes green he fires. Another wounded TIE his hammered with heavy lasers, buring up and exploding as it loses control. <<"Oh yeah... Here we go Jehn... I think we got their attention. Hold on tight and clench your butt!">>

<"To be fair, you have to expect some amount of retaliation when you muster a whole fleet of civilians against someone. Tends to rub people the wrong way,"> Lando comms, punctuating it with a soft chuckle that turns flat. "Didn't expect two /Star Destroyers/ full of fighters, though," he asides to himself, nervously.

The news of the lock-on has Lando grumbling for a moment before he responds. "Well, it's not like we can move out of the way. Re-route every bit of power we can to the shields and let's hope they hold," Lando orders.

<<"Keep it up Rogue. Hammer them. Targeting Beta Six. These civ ships are softening them up nicely. Let's keep the General in drinks on that pretty station people. Divide targeting half of us on Beta, the other on Alpha.">> The squadron is humming. It's a strange fight with the enemy fixed on the station and Rogue, along with the civilians, fixed on what can only be First Order TIES. The com chatter makes her smile grimly as she zeros in on Beta Six, the targeting tone loud in her headset. Two red laser hits leave its shields nearly down and open for another in the squadron to finish it off.

Lofty's target BETA FIVE is wiped out of the sky as Karas Darkwing's ROGUE TWO shoots it. The target blinks off Haoziipliirs Stebbs' screen and there is some complaining from the sensor cabin. "<<Yakua ku!!>>" he gibbers in Sullustese. It loosely translates into 'the chicken is stone dead.' Lofty takes a quick sip from his Slushdrink's straw, then they are back to hunting through the melee. His ship is fast but not quite as maneuverable as all of these fighters. He pulls up on TIE/sf ALPHA TWO and shakily fires two blasts from his laser cannons at it. A hit! There is an immediate return of fire which impacts his shields and shakes the skipray blastboat. Stebbs loses his missile lock. "<<Murathei, mutigatigie mugui o na umwe!>>" Anyone who knows Sullustese could translate that Stebbs is prodding Lofty to 'shoot at her, spare no arrow' in retaliation for offending their shields. <<"Snowball here. They going for station!">>

With the TIE/sf's targeting the station, Rogue 3 moves to engage with one of them. Protecting the station was paramount, as it couldn't exactly dodge like the civilian vessels could. The gods weren't with him, however, and while he's having no problems in the least with staying unscathed, he's not doing so well with his gunnery. Maybe he needed more time in the simulators or in the field with the X-wing. <<"Rogue Three is going after the ones targetting the station, drawing their fire at least."

<"Roger five, Lead I'm on your wing.> Neander says into his comms as he follows in the wake of Tallie. As Tallie makes her move after a new target, Neander rolls in the opposite direction, hoping to catch the TIE in a pincer of sorts. He pulls back around, makes sure Tallie's tail is clear, and then fires a pair of bolts into the side of the TIE FO that Rogue Leader had softened up. The smoke from an internal fire billows out of it, and as he zips past he says, <I'm gonna call that one a probable.> Before he yaws his fighter back into position behind Rogue Leader.

David nods and alters course when Rogue Leader's orders come through. "Ones, prioritize the Alpha squadron." he instructs, watching half the dots fade slightly and the other half brighten on his systems. <<"Going for Alpha, Rogue Leader.>> he notes, meeting their squadron head-on from above. He squeezes the trigger on his flight stick a few times, once to test and the rest to confirm. The last laser blast causes sparks to fly on the TIE's hull. <<"Got its shields down, Rogues.">> he notes, staying on target.

It's one of those days. Zan's target goes down, and Ax picks another. It's of course then that the alarms go out about target locks on the station. "Rude," Zan says inside her cockpit. In a heartbeat her tactic changes. There's a reason they bring an A wing along, and it's not just for the sleek good looks, zippy speed and purple hair. << Rogue 5, engaging jammers, >> she says calmly on the encrypted channels. Did you get that, staion? - don't panic. Well, she can try. Hopefully it works. Her fingers fly across her panels, as she moves to fly evasively, and engage her jammers.

As Karas pilots Rogue 2 over to where Rogue Leader is, he sees the rookie moving in as well and both of them firing on the same TIE. Shaking his head, <<....>> Karas wasan't going to rebuke the kid until after they run off the First Order. He breaks off from Rogue Leader and he begins heading off in a different direction, and after he breaks off, he sees another F/O TIE streaks past him. He rolls left and diving in after the Beta 7, and before he could get a lock, Karas watches the pilots movements and fires, but his shot misses as the TIE jinks slightly avoiding the laser blast from the T-85s laser cannons. Rogue 2 doesn't left off Beta 7.

The Twi'lek Mission specialist calls out, "You heard the Recking Boss, Everything we got into shields!" He's praying to whatever god he believes in as he liard monkey lights a second tabac stick and his scopes go dead. He looks up with a confused look as Zandra just saved a number of the Turbo lasers by jamming everything. That doesn't mean Three don't still blow up from the Tie/Sf cannons.

That's when the Sith Red Tie daggers rip our heroes of Rogues and well Rogue Squadron. Tie/Fo still going after GD squadron.

Jax destroys Alpha Eight, as he blows through a cloud of vapor, Then a Tie dagger locks onto his tail. <That's why they weren't targeting us. Their friends came out to play.>

<<"Bold of you to assume my butt has ever been /un/clenched.">> Jehni'va retorts. Is this on the open channel? You bet your clenched buttcheeks it is. <<"Sights on a new target. Still on my tail, Saj-man? Stay froggy.">> She announces, then, something with a deep, relentless, dirty bass beat blasting in the background. <<"Happy to pick off th'small fry and let you lot with the big guns swing some brain.">> Behind those goggles, her eyes are very, very red. She coughs. "Kriff, Copey, open a vent or somethin' this is getting ridiculous. Alright - comin' in hot!" Intending to take down Beta 10, the pilot is suddenly alerted to... "Incoming!" She warns, the plasma sailing harmlessly over her. She grits her teeth and slams the ship into a hard, upward loop, trying to stay out of the line of fire as she continues lining up her shot on Beta 10. <<"Shields damaged on Beta 10!">> She calls out to Sajin.

Lofty's ship is pounded by turret fire and from the TIE daggers closing in. <<"We hit!>>" The bright blue engines start to crackle as subsystems are hit hard. "<<Prepare eject!>>" He slides down his blast visor. Haozipliirs Stebbs and the R2 unit hit the ejector, separating the sensor station from the cockpit in a sort of escape pod. Lofty's pilot cabin opens up to space and ejects the massive Talz in his flight suit out of the transparisteel cockpit, with his Slushdrink drink painting his flight suit purple in the process. <<"AHHHHH-brrglgelegglezzt">> goes the comm array and parts of the Blastboat go flying. Some of the missiles and proton torpedoes cook off and explode with a powerful THUUUUUUUUUM!

"They're getting torn apart out there," Lando says, his dark eyes resting on the viewscreen and a frown settling in on his face. <"If you're limping, get out of here; I mean it!"> he comms out. The old General straightens up and moves over to his safe. The door is slung open and his Night Sniper is pulled from within and tucked into the holster clinging tightly to his side. "We won't be able to hold them for much longer. Get all available security to the landing bay, and get any non-essential personel prepared to evacuate. They're not scuttling GemDiver, they're smarter than that." With that, the General marches off towards the turbolift.

<<"I'm trying I'm trying!">> Sajin calls over towards Jehni as he's right in the middle of shaking a heavy canon weildinf TIE/SF from his Six. What this causes him to do, and while he barely escapes the green fire in one of the most brillian barrel rolls anyone has probably ever seen by a civilian pilot in a good long time, is for his fire to go way wide. His trigger finger hits early and he red bolts zip off into the distant black. <<"Damn Jehn... sorry! Messed that one up. I'll see about trying again!">> He looks at the numbers and the dwindling forces of the station... "Buckets, plot us an escape vector. Send it to Jehn. We might have to get out of here real quick." The droid whistles a nervious affirmative.

Quick thinking on Zandra's part throws a jamming field up as another shield for the Station. "I can't even commend her for it, Fiver. But we need them jammed."

Tallie trusts the pilots flying with her, knowing they don't need her micro-managing them. "Too bad you can't drink, Fiver. Cause I'm taking them all out for a drink when we get back to Station. Maybe the general will stand us a round."

Tallie is chattering to herself in the cockpit, a nervous habit (something she'd never let the squadron hear) brought on by watching the pounding that Rogue takes. The damage reports on the civilian ships sets her mouth into a grim line. But, Rogue rallies and returns the hurt.

Ax keeps up his pursuit of Alpha-3, firing a blast from the four lasers of his X-wing and scoring a direct hit to the enemy TIE's shields. With communications jammed, he can't even shout out a hooray like he wants. Instead, he just does a quick fist-pump in the privacy of the cockpit, glad that he finally scored a hit. "I really gotta get Rogue some Phantoms, I don't like flying these birds, Buster."

Another quick roll out and now Neander finds himself sort of alone in space, but, as he assesses his situation, a pair of bolts from a Dagger smack into his shields, and he's forced to make evasive maneuvers. "Twofie, see if you can't boost my shields a little," he calls over to his droid. As Twofie gets to work, Neander finds himself in prime position to take a shot at one of the remaining TIEs, and he fires a pair of bolts into it, and is rewarded by its explosion.

David's X-Wing is caught by one of the TIEs as he's focused on hunting down another. The ship shakes and as David looks to review damages, the shields display sparks up and just fades. "That's not good." the pilot mutters under his breath. <<"I've lost shields.">> he reports calmly. His tone of voice is not unlike a spaceliner captain detailing arrival and weather, but that's only because it's become such a routine to speak into his comms that way. Amidst all the distracting factors, David does manage to fire off a few shots at his intended target, but none of them actually find a target.

Now that the jammer is set, Zan moves her A wing, flipping a dodge that doesn't quite make it. Her shields take a solid hit and she scowls at whoever hit her. Then she laughs, shaking her head. "Breathe Zan, it's fine. You can deal with this." It's fine. A quick assessment - shields down to below half, but they're holding. Ax's battle with 3 catch her her sights and she slaloms that way, taking a shot at 3 as well, and skimming its shields. Might have hit hull there, not that she can tell anyone about it. "I still wish I had a droid socket in this thing," she mutters, as she spins the Awing around in a lovely flip, before she heads back in for another run.

Karas wasn't phased about the situation but he wanted to make sure everyone made it home ok. Shaking his head a little bit Karas flies like he was meant to be here, as he is being fired on, his X-Wing rolls and dives. As he rolls his -85, he closes the S-Foils as the fighter rolls. As he dives he opens the S-Foils and as he does this he applies more energy into the engines and as he does he drifts his fighter spinning it around but allows the inertia to keep pushiing him backwards as he fires his laser turrets at Beta 7. He watches as Beta 7 manuevers through his shots. "Kriff!"

The Tie/SF rained fire and destruction on Gem Diver's turbo lasers only one remained and it was damaged. The Tie Daggers ripped through the squadrons sowing fear to everyone they fought, and then like hounds called back to their master they break off flying in formation. As the Star Destroyer Adrax returns in system. A shuttle launching from the Sith Star Destroyer. The Daggers moving into escort formation to guide the shuttle down to planet. This leaves the Tie fighters from the Merciless to fight the defenders of Gem Diver. Their own Commander knowing they were losing a battle of attrition now. The ties of alpha squadron and beta squadron break formation as the Merciless returns staying out of the range of the Republic fighters and the turbo laser of Gem Diver. Perhaps these had been the message for Lando or perhaps this was only the beginning...

The Green Twi'lek is on the com now, "Look I don't care, we need to get a transport out there for any survivors. GD 3 is somebody important's nephew. If the kid survived. It might be our butts. If his aunt is one of the General's lady's friends." Soon a rescue shuttle was launched.

Jax realizes he's been talking to static the hold time. He'd stung one of the Tie Daggers and gotten two on his tail that he dodged. Then as they broke and ran, he called out, "And stay get." Then sighs, "I don't think this was a win like we like."

Static fades as the com jamming stops. <<"Rogue Leader to Gem Diver Station com. We are tracking survivors. We're still here and coming into station. We gave it everything we could, General.">>

Rogue 2 comes in forming up with the rest of the squadron, <<Rogues form up and begin looking for survivors quickly.>> he says commenting after Tallie. They weren't going to leave anyone behind if they can help it. Karas never did like leaving people behind no matter what.
