The Irregulars versus the Knight of Ren. Who will claim victory?

OOC Date: September 28, 2020
Location: Canto Bight
Participants: Jax Greystorm, Kael Greystorm, Malik Ren, Nerys Greystorm, Qadira Suuryet, Sajin

[Jax Greystorm]

The team had arrived on the planet by Baudo Class transport known as the Wayward Heart. The yacht was loaned to the Irregulars by Gadget. It lent legitimacy to the mission. As the yacht swam swiftly through hyperspace, Jax had gathered the team into the posh lounge of Wayward Heart. "A New Republic Intel Officer named, Gavin Therel, has deserted his post and is in the process of attempting to defect to the FIrst Order. He has so far evaded all attempts to capture him as the New Republic has continued to pursue him. He has gone to ground on Canto Bight. Due to the neutral nature of the planet, the New Republic has brought us in to capture him. All intel points to him hiding at the Grand Cantonica Casino. The New Republic has also placed ship with First Order ties on Route to the planet. A master code breaker owing the New Republic a favor has slipped us intel that the meeting will be occurring in Casinos shopping center. So this is as real as it gets. New Republic Agents lives are in danger if he makes the meet and escapes with the First Order Operative. Security on planet and in the casino is going to be tight and not on our side. Lucky they will not be on the First Orders side. So we won't be able to use our normal weapon or gear. The target will need to be intercepted and incapacitated before they can make the meet. Then removed from the site without being detained. As soon as we touch down, I will be securing us transport between the casino and the spaceport. May the Force be with you."

Jax provides the group with several Holocaptures of a man of a tall fair skinned human with blonde short cut hair. He appears to be in his late forties to early Fifties. He is shown wearing a dapper black suit with a spring of Queen's heart in his lapel. There's an audio clip speaking with a Nabooian accent.

The Casino's Shopping area is busy. There are several members of the rich and powerful or their kids milling about shopping as one does when not bothered by the riff or the raff. Gavin Therel seems to have blended in and there's no obvious FIrst Order agents at the moment.

[Nerys Greystorm]

"Of course it would be a Naboo defector." And that was all Nerys had to say about that. Nerys, when she was not digging around in the back of beyond, did remember her training, and she has certainly put it to be effect tonight. She wore a dress that was all silk and strips of gauze. It was delicate new leaf green, the strips of fabric providing some modesty to her top, the skirts loose and flowing from the banded waist. AS she sat, waiting, and listening to the debrief, she twitched the fabric of the divided skirts, which had split to expose her left leg to the top of her thigh.

"Are we wanting to bring him back for debriefing, or are we cleared to eliminate him if it means removing the possibility that he will be useful to the First Order?" Nerys' tone was cool, dispassionate. She did not seem much concerned with the prospect of killing someone in cold blood.

[Kael Greystorm]

Kael adjusts the tie on his suit as he looks around walking near Nerys as they enter the casino, "I can't believe I let you talk me into this suit." His eyes sweep across the crowds, "So anybody seen our Naboobian friend?" Yes Kael can dress up. And yes he does not enjoy it.

[Qadira Suuryet]

Kadi is dressed in Coruscanti finery, in case she has to go off the ship, but for the moment, she's still aboard. She's busy digging into the systems, and doing her best to not be caught at it, while getting her folks in. She's got radio contact with the rest of the crew, encrypted channels like usual, as she does what she can to keep things easy and moving forward. <<Pretty sure I can't help you there. A lot of people are here. Let me know if there is anything more I can help with,>> she offers.

[Sajin]

Sajin was not a spy. He was not an assassin. He was not a law enforcement officer. "This isn't going to work..." He said has he straightened the tie around his neck. He looked pretty spiffy, though nothing overly expensive like the uniform he worse the other night at the charity dinner.

Regardless there was plenty of room to hide his combat knife and pocket a pair of metal knuckles just incase things got out of hand. "We should just kill him and run away. I'm serious..." Of course they wouldn't go for that.

"Naboo... such... interesting people." Sajin sighed, pursing his lips as she shifted the monkey suit around a bit. "I don't like this place." He wanted to be home. "You guys just do what ever, I'm going to... watch... incase it goes wrong." It probably would.

What was evident is that Sajin had a lot of practice making himself look unthreatening. Unassuming. Of course this man didn't have deadly weapons on him, the Hapan was far too gorgeous.

[Malik Ren]

Canto Bight is an alluring, treacherous place. A place where beauty hides brutality, a place where everyone worships the same and only god -- money. Lives and fortunes are made and broken here, and fickle luck bestows and removes her favor to incredible or disastrous consequence. Every step in this city is a roll of the dice, a gamble... and of course it's only real Danger if it's from Canto Bight, otherwise it's just sparkling jeopardy.

Some people are at home here among the glitterati, and some people find it awkward, uncomfortable, unfamiliar. Some people are familiar with the kind of dirty fighting that happens with a word to the right person or a shift of assets from one account to another, and for some, these are depths unknown; a clean outbreak of straight up violence would be better.

And some people like both.

Perched at the top of the stairs leading from the casino to the shopping floor is a Problem. A man of impeccable posture and unremarkable height, ringed hands absently holding some sort of clear beverage... wearing robes of a type and tradition that are confidently out of place here, but who's going to tell him that?

Gavin Therel's contact is not just anyone, it appears that it is Malik Ren, and he is here, watching and waiting for Gavin to appear.

[Jax Greystorm]

Jax was on com with the team but not there, "Last ditch effort Jetpack and King. Management want the marker brought in. I don't want to know what the Krayt Dragon has planned. I'm going to stay off channel unless you need me."

[Nerys Greystorm]

Nerys, who had breezed through the crowds in that way that only a woman born to breeding, money, and privilege could, swirled her way through the crowds, nothing more than a hummingbird, dipping her beak into this flower or that. Shops were evaluated, offerings were sampled, wares were considered. Did any of them seem to keep the woman's attention or garner her credits? Very few. She paused, slowed, really, as she came upon a store that sold some of the finery that such a place as Canto Bight seemed to hawk in excess of its actual worth. But then, that was most of the pleasure planet. She leaned in, just a touch, her words coming almost soto voce along the comms, "I have located the target. He is seated just outside of Rare Delight," that wa a fancy pants dress shop. "He is at the third seat from the end of the bar just outside of it."

[Kael Greystorm]

Kael's looking around the crowd looking for either their mark or any trouble that might.... Be in the form of a robed man with impeccable tastes... He keys up his comms so the others can hear what he's saying to Nerys, "Trouble top of the stairs. Think we can get the target in and out before it becomes a big thing?"

[Qadira Suuryet] Kadi decides to try figuring out a way to get an alert at the painted tortoise, which is as far from the location that Nerys named as Kadi can find. She is concentrating as hard as she can, but she's a master engineer, not necessarily a hacker. well. an engineer with hacking skills, sure, but still. She is concentrating so hard, she misses a loop, and all of a sudden, she's locked out of the system. Which is irritating, to say the least. "Bother," she mutters, though under her breath, she says a lot less ladylike things. That computer equipment is promptly shut down, and dismantled, because no point getting caught with it.

[Sajin]

There were several things being the Janitor of Defiance taught Sajin. All your organs and limbs could be readily replaced destroying any real fear of mortality that the Hapan had. It also taught him how to be an awful person when needed... said awful qualities involving Lying. You see, Sajin had a great teacher, the mighty might Zhu Yan (what a man). While he couldn never spin a tail as well as the 'corellian' smuggler... he certainly wasn't inefficient.

Hearing of the problem at the top of the stairs, he looks that way. He was away from the others, as he had told them he would be, keeping a general eye out on things. Plush lips pursed together as hazel eyes roamed over the dark form of Malik Ren. "You guys get the target. I'll... visit an old acquaintance..."

What in the blasted hells was that dumb Hapan doing?

Turning towards the stairs he strolled leisurely towards them. He was not hiding his face, nor his identity. He knew Malik, or at least the man he used to be, might have remembered him as a cook from the Blue Light. That was a long time ago. "Orange Arcanteal! OH man! I haven't seen you in like a million years! Wow!" Was Sajin patting the much shorter man on the shoulder? Yes... somehow he was. "Hey remember me? Remember, the guy who said sometimes you just gotta take a dick in the mouth? Hahaha, yeah good times."

[Malik Ren]

From the top of the grand stairway, Malik sets his glass aside with the indifferent negligence of someone who has never, in his life, had to pick anything up. There are servants for that. Always have been, always will be, and he could not begin to care what happens to that glass or who has to deal with it later.

His steps are unhurried, but Malik is heading down the stairs, on the move...! Shortly to be accosted by none other than Sajin, who seems to remember him before he was him. That is a lot of Hapan, a lot of... just... very pretty Hapan, and Sajin is inspected with an up-down-up look that costs Malik what might have been an opportunity to spot the mysterious Gavin Therel.

He does attempt to step out of the way of the patting, and it's not clear whether he actually remembers Sajin or not. The slightly lewd comment does prompt a hint of amused smile though, one corner of his mouth quirking upwards.

"Sometimes that's true."

[Jax Greystorm]

Gavin seemed a bit impatient as he sit at the bar waiting. The tumbler he was sipping from seems to get swirled every few minute. The longer he waits the more annoyed he becomes. He checks his chronometer every so often. Anyone but the bar tender tries to get his attention, he promptly dismisses them. Being out in the cold seems to have annoyed the spy.

[Nerys Greystorm]

Nerys' lips quirked, though whether it was in response to the person she spied once Kael pointed him out, the comment from Sajin just before she saw him head in the direction of the Knight of Ren, or the deplorably quality of the dress she was examining - on a living model no less! - well, she sniffed as she turned away from the dress. It was probably the dress. And she was off again, flitting her way over towards the bar where the intended target was sitting. She did not grace any of the seats with the presence of her bottom, only leaning in to signal one of the bartenders, "A glass of blossom wine." No please. She was far too rich to say please. But, the chit she slid across the bar would probably make up for that. Money always trumped politeness, didn't it?

[Kael Greystorm]

Kael Greystorm smirks just a bit looking over at Sajin before he walks over and takes a seat next to Gavin, "Corellian Whiskey. On the rocks." He looks over at Gavin, "Malik Ren sends his regards. He's been delayed but there are Republic Operatives that are here to eliminate any threat you might pose to the Republic. I suggest we leave quickly if you want to live."

[Qadira Suuryet]

Kadi promptly quick set ups another device, new address and all. She then works to get back into the system. "I got kicked out of the system, but I'm back in now," she says softly. Now she looks to see if there are any alerts she needs to worry about, any that are somewhere near the team. "Hang in there, Button, Hopefully we don't have to send you out there."

[Sajin]

"Wow man, how are you?" Sajin seems to attempt to admit the genuine caring of a friends or someone who used to know you but hasn't seen you in a long time. The fact of the matter was the last time these two were in proximity to one another, the Hapan had shot a bowcaster bolt through Malik Ren 25 yard out covered in Formfitter armor and hidden in a snipers nest with Shadowplates. Any anger that Sajin had possessed for the man was apparently far beneath the surface... or perhaps he thought them even now that the proverbial prince of darkness had done his time.

THat dumb smile was still plastered on his face. Now Sajin might have known he could get attention easily, it was keeping it was small talk that was a problem. He wasn't a charmer even with his ridiculous good looks. His personality was that of a quiet introvert with a bit of a temper if rubbed the wrong way. So when it came time to make the small talk... the Hapan hesitated like a twelve year old boy alone with the prom queen. His mouth hands open, a croak of a word escaping his plump lips. His hand goes into his pocket. Pursing his lips he nods. "Ah, yup. Well good to see you." Suddenly something strikes him. "Oh. OH! Hey uh..." He snaps his fingers, "Someone back at the Blue Light... I don't know if you go there anymore. They couldn't believe you ever used to come in there. Could you like... sign a napkin for me to give to them?" Malik Ren, space celebrity.

[Malik Ren]

Sajin is pretty, very pretty, but Malik /is/ a man on a mission here, and the net of entrancing Hapan prettiness does seem to unravel a little somewhere around the sexiest word a person of any gender can say, 'yup'. Malik's attention is already starting to slide away, steps aiming to walk around Sajin, with one brow lifted as he doesn't even bother responding to the napkin thing.

One word and a dismissive gesture. "Shoo," Malik instructs, and perhaps it was meant to carry a greater force (Force) of willpower, but the intended grasp of those invisible strings just barely misses. Maybe the target mind was smaller than expected... jk jk I love you Sajin.

[Jax Greystorm]

Gavin snorts and takes a drink of his tumbler, "Malik Ren. Sure right. I don't know what you're high on boy but you need to move along now." He was eying Kael now. "Or I'm calling the hotel security and telling them, you're looking for a partner to cheat at the pazak tables." He hasn't seen Malki, Sajin, and to his disadvantage hasn't noticed Nerys than the fact she's another pretty face.

[Nerys Greystorm]

Nerys, now that Kael had at the targets attention, slipped from where she was taking up her wine and moved as if she were attempting to get around the two men. She did not get far though, instead, leaning in as if to try to diffuse the situation. What she did, instead, was speak quietly, her voice losing much of the 'human' quality that made it so appealing, under normal circumstances. The hand not holding the wine slipping the small vibrodagger from its sheath under the fabric of her skirts. The tip found a handy ridge between two of Gavin's vertebrae, pressing there. "I suggest that you come along, or else I will be happy to see how you manage the rest of your life in a repulsor chair. Now, you might be able to call the guards, but you'll still be crippled from the waist down."

[Kael Greystorm]

Kael Greystorm smirks a bit and shakes his head, "Gavin. You're leaving with me or the hotel security will be the least of your worries. Not one word I spoke was a lie, I'm sure Malik sends his regards and is currently delayed. And there are Republic Operatives that want to eliminate the threat you pose... I just never said which side I was on." Then Nerys is making her move and Kael adjusts his sleeve just a bit as he moves his right arm to point towards Gavin.

[Qadira Suuryet]

Kadi is busy trying to get the alarms to go off and cause the biggest distraction ever, but she's having trouble with the system, and failing miserably. "This should not be this difficult," she growls. There's a determined look on her face, and she takes a deep breath. "Sometimes i do understand the desire to just smash something. But - that totally won't help right now. I'll smash something later."

[Sajin]

The Target's mind was small, very very small. Sajin was not known for his bright ideas despite having his moments. This must have been one of those moments. The 'Shoo' Command seems to do the exact opposite. "What?" He heard him, but was still confused as to why Malik had done that. There was something that tickled at his sub concious but it wasn't enough to cause him to do anything. "Huh..." He moves along with Malik, following him like an annoying little puppy "Come on. Let me buy you a drink or something. Just the kid is a real big fan of your work, you know." He was clearly getting desperate and the comm traffic had gone silent. In his pocket he was reaching for either the knife that was there... or the knuckles. Things were getting hairy and he was running out of options and steam. Zhu Yan's tutelage was holding up as he lied through his teeth about the fake person who really adored Malik. "I mean they all love you back there. We miss you I suppose. Domino's been so sad lately." Of course Malik wouldn't know of their recent falling out after the dark skinned seductress attempted to rob him blind or charity money.

[Malik Ren]

"I am in fact near universally reviled at the Blue Light, owing to certain disagreements with the Proprietress," Malik dryly informs Sajin. He doesn't seem to necessarily disbelieve that some person Sajin met there wants something from him -- or that Sajin believes it happened. Zhu Yan's lying is a formidable skill when the art is learned and applied! But neither does he seem inclined to cooperate, so as he walks, he has the puppy following along with. "No," Malik refuses the drink. "And no." There is a pause and a glance over at his new bff as Domino's name comes out, and the Ren simply remarks, "She's a big girl. She can take care of herself... and if she can't, it's her problem, not mine." He's not a good boyfriend. Gavin, watch out.

A hint of exasperation surfaces as Sajin is just THERE and continues to be THERE, and another attempt is made to influence the Ysajinmir! "Go /away/. I am busy. Remove yourself to places that are /not here/."

It doesn't work, of course. Besties!

[Jax Greystorm]

Gavin spins real quick and his drink goes flying across the bar to shatter out in the shopping centers open concourse's floor. There's a yell from a rich young lady "What's the Kriff's wrong with you? You got me in booze and glass! I'm like calling Security!"

Gavin hand goes to disarm Nerys but he was expecting a taller woman. This leaves the spy open and Nerys knife just under the spy's chin. "Maybe we can talk about this." Then his eyes go wide, "That is Malik Ren!"

[Nerys Greystorm]

Nerys leaned up and in, looking for all the world as though she were propositioning the man. The squawking bird down along the bar was patently ignored. The knife not wavering, even as she adjusted just enough to be able to keep the knife where it was. Maybe, just maybe pressing the tip in deeply enough to prick his skin, the buzz of the vibroblade humming against Gavin's throat. "That is indeed Malik Ren. So now, you want to think about how much you'll tell him with your windpipe severed. Or, possibly, how much will be left of you when the Knights have gotten all the information they can out of you. I've heard...that they are even more brutal than the First Order. How much of your mind, not to mention your body do you think will be left when they're finished with you?" She didn't look at Kael. She'd been working with him too long to need to catch his visual clues.

[Kael Greystorm]

Kael nods a bit as he points towards the exit, "We sure can. On our way out or you won't be our problem anymore" He steps up and just places one hand on Gavin's shoulder, "Just start walking and you won't have to die here today." Then Nerys starts to explain what the Knights will do to him and he just laughs, "Gavin. There will only be a smoldering pile of ashes after I'm done shooting you. I'd prefer not having to do that but well... I didn't get my whiskey so I'm a bit peeved now anyways. Move."

[Qadira Suuryet]

Kadi has to switch to a third computer. no this time she keeps fussing with it, and fussing with it. She's mumbling under her breath, like a crazy mad scientist. "Why won't unilever's theorem work? It should work," she gripes. "I'm telling dad he's wrong on that one. Practical experience says that - oh!" Pause. "Damn it, I Hate when he's right." Into the system she gets, and she starts setting off the fire suppression system. It shouldn't hurt anyone, right?

[Sajin]

The was the pushing again at the back of his brain was the demand for Sajin to go anywhere but around Malik was spoken. Brows narrowed in confusion accenting those dreamy hazel eyes of his. Yet, the stupidity the Hapan possessed was like a brick wall apparently, slamming head long into it. Was it sheer dumb luck? Probably. Still the Hapan keeps following.

And suddenly it's raining. Water pours down the Hapan's pretty face, wetting the stubble framing those precious lips of his. His skin glistens like crystalline. He looks dashing. "Oh my, look I've managed to get all wet." Too bad the loud syruns from the fire alarms and flashing lights do not compliment his attempt to look sexy while being overly saturated is pressurized water. "Come on, let's get out of here man. This is a mess." He beckons Malik to go with him. Though regardless he turns and starts to move towards the exit, hands in his pockets.

[Malik Ren]

Oh, Sajin.

Stupid sexy Sajin.

Again he just won't go away, and again he's there, persistent, unmovable. Like a big old rock. A rock of marble. A rock of marble chiseled into total perfection. "You are without a doubt one of the most infuriating people I've met, and that is a field of talented contenders," Malik gripes at the Hapan, just before he spots -- AHA. Gavin. There he is. Little Gavin.

Momentarily distracted away from Sajin, Malik raises a brow as he's spotted the figures of Nerys and Kael right there with the target. "Such a poor choice of company you're keeping," the Ren chides, and then all hell breaks loose! The fire suppression system is active, security was called, this whole thing is already a mess. The man is compromised, everything is SOPPING... Sajin wants to go somewhere... He's got pretty eyes... "You're so stupid," Malik sighs, in a tone of what sounds like surrender to the inescapable appeal of exactly that dumbness. "Shh. One moment."

Back to Gavin, and he gestures briefly, a cruel telekinetic gesture that closes the man's throat with injury and pain! There's a nasty wet crunch sound to it! He isn't dead (perhaps an oversight), but now he'll be dead weight, and a burden to those who have to carry him.

Back to Sajin. Sajin now has Malik's undivided attention, which is perhaps a different problem.

"Do you know you ought to be careful what you wish for?" He's totally goin with Sajin for the exit.

[Jax Greystorm]

In Casino the fire supression system goes off and it starts to rain down on expensive cloths, expensive gaming machines, credits, dancers, and most importantly guests. An annoying flashing light begins to flash as the cansino goes dark. Emergency exits illuminate and paths to this exits appear. A voice in a proper Coruscanti voice begins to speak, "For the health and safety of our guest, we ask you to promptly make your way toward the nearest exit. For the healt and safety of our guest...." It repeats the message before cycling to Huttese and then Bocce. Then back to Basic. A lone gremlin like creature playing the slots. Canto Brights Exclusive Fire and Rescue team trucks are on their way.

Jax calls out on the radio, <Emperor's black bones are you guys doing? There's like all of the Fire and Rescue on are on their way. I'm pulling around the back now. I'm in the white speeder truck.>

Well No security is on their way but Gavin's out as dead weight. That and everyone is leaving.

[Nerys Greystorm]

Nerys wasn't really going to stab Gavin in the throat, but then Malik did the next best thing, and Nerys looked, for a moment, briefly sad, as she looked at the man whose throat she could see deform under the unseen pressure of Malik's power, "I told you, didn't I?" No sympathy from the woman. That was a human emotion. "Grab him and let's get the hell out of here." Nerys slipped the knife away, and reached out to help Kael as much as she could to try to get Gavin towards one of the exits that would lead them out to the back to waiting transport. <We're going to need medical, immediately.> Surely the yacht had a medical droid, right? Right?!

[Kael Greystorm]

Kael Greystorm just watches as Gavin falls the the ground then back up at Malik then back at Gavin. Since Malik's overly distracted he reaches down to try and pick up the man and just can't get that dripping we body over his shoulder and sighs... "Dragging it is." He grabs one leg while Nerys grabs the other and they start to drag the unconscious man towards the back exit, "Idiot can't handle his liquor."

[Qadira Suuryet] Kadi now takes the computer pieces, wipes the finger prints off them, destroys the hard drive equivalent and then gets herself busy starting up the heart, and lazily telling the tower she wanted a hot launch, and was going to be leaving any minute now. The shopping was atrocious.

[Sajin]

Sometimes you had to take a shot in the mouth.

Those words echoed in Sajin's head as Malik reached out and somehow caused Gavin to slump then turned towards him, interested in the now slickened hunk of hapan man meat.

Stupid Sexy Sajin

You kept your friends close and your enemies closer. This was becoming way too true of a statement for even Sajin to handle. Outside of Corsair he was the only likely candidate in the outfit who could possibly stand any kind of chance against the Ren. Maybe... if his skills served him well and luck was on his side.

One option would have been to attack. That would have been the dumbest thing anyone would have done and even Sajin wasn't that mentally challenged. His eyes flicked towards Nerys and Jax struggling with Gavin, then back to Malik. "Something bothering you? Come on, let's go? The voice keeps saying so." The Hapan offers a smile as he moves along. He kept up the facade at least of pretending he was there alone and not with this group of rebel scum. Despite the dire situation he was placing himself in, he didn't break a sweat... well hard to see the sweat while drenched in water.

[Malik Ren]

Something bothering you? "So much more than you know." It's wet. It's really just such a state of indoor rain in here. Malik's hands lift to try to get his hair out of his face, and he studies Sajin more clearly -- so perfect, damn those Hapans, but maybe all this falling water has taken care of some thirst for five seconds?

"A moment," Malik murmurs to his new companion, "Just one moment, then I'll follow you anywhere at all that you want to go." He then gestures toward poor Gavin Therel, who shouldn't have defected from the Republic, and who shouldn't have had such a rosy view of Malik Ren's attitude towards demonstrably unfaithful agents. The data chip in question here flies out of the man's pocket!

Fast, a small target - but not an impossible one...!

[Nerys Greystorm]

Nerys was a small woman, but she was bound and determined to put her upgrades to good use, darn it! She was hauling for all she was worth. The floor was slick, and his suit was fancy, so maybe that helped, as the two Greystorms maneuvered the former Republic officer towards one of the back exists so often used when someone wanted to duck out without being seen by the holorecorders that would send their image to the holonet gossip rags. <We're almost there.> She almost stumbled, as Kael momentarily let down his side, catching a flash of something as it zipped out of Gavin's pocket, but her hands were full.

[Kael Greystorm]

Kael watches as the chit comes out of Gavin's pocket, "Not today." As he drops the man's leg because he's dead weight and worthless now anyways he sights down at the floating small target with his arm... then squeezes the trigger of the wrist laser shooting a fiery bolt of plasma at it just barely hitting the small target causing it to burst into flame and blow up from the impact before he turns back towards Nerys, "Time to go.... Annnd you've got him. Perfect." He keys up the comms as they're heading out, "Chit destroyed but we'll need medical for Gavin when we get him out back." A pause, "And maybe an extraction for Sajin later. I'm not sure what's going on there but it looked steamy."

[Sajin]

Let's be clear, Sajin was not running away from Malik Ren because he was scared.

Let's be VERY clear. It was suicide to stand up to the trained Force User without the proper armor, the proper weapons, the proper... EVERYTHING. A Knife and some metal knuckles were not going to cut it.

Sajin took his chance, Kael's shot ringing out and incinerating the chip. If there was a moment in which Malik would be distracted from Sajin... it would be now. He had notice Nerys carrying the man, though he didn't rightfully care of the asset survived or not. If it were up to him he would have just killed him at the bar and walked away.

Sajin was not in charge of this operation. He was also not about to take some Dark Side Dick for the crap pay he was receiving. So, with as light of a foot as he could, he turned and booked it towards the exit. Sajin was FAST. So very fast. His fingers stretched out and together as his arm pumped. His chest puffed out and back slightly bent. He was like a plank of wood zooming through the ran and out the door. Did Malik see him run? Maybe, he wasn't that quiet as his shoes splashed against the marble flooring. Regardless the pretty hapan was gone. Perhaps spooked by the violence.

Poor Malik, scaring away all his enticing prospects.

After this, Sajin was going to go home and sleep with his wife. He needed to regain that bit of himself back after this.

[Malik Ren]

So you win some, and you lose some. Or you lose some and you lose some. Sometimes you lose Carida, a Republic-intel-laden data chit, and a pretty Hapan all in the same week.

Kael has the satisfaction of seeing the darksider's brows lift in surprise as the datachit explodes into what's essentially molten confetti, and it's only the soggy mess of the fire suppression system that keeps sparks from setting his sleeves on fire. So that's gone, and they're dragging Gavin off, and Sajin... ah, there he goes, running away as fast as he can with sturdy little SPLISH SPLISH SPLISH of boots and panic against the floor.

You have to laugh sometimes, or else you go crazy, or maybe you laugh because you already did go crazy? Hard to tell with Malik, but he does, exhaling a, "Bloody hell," as it's just so clear it was not his night.

One more moment is spent watching Sajin flee, then he starts to exit himself, more sedately and in a different direction. One last word is sent after the fleeing Hapan, amused.

"Call me?"
