The Resistance's Dagger Part Two

OOC Date: January 4, 2016
Location: The First Order's Secret Warehouse
Participants: Ambrosia Greystorm, Atlan E'ron , Gaarurrra, Jax Greystorm, Leia Organa, Nym Landala, Oriana, Poe Dameron, Sesti Gath

In almost mirrored time, two fights are about to come into being. This time however? For at least one there's advantage on the Resistance side. Sesti's hacking and the team's stealth means that they hadn't been found as they slipped into the warehouse. Intelligence gathered had even located the correct cargo for their objective, but it's not unprotected. Several humanoid security guards are set up in defencive positions, blaster carbines held cautiously as they scan for threats. They've been left guarding the prize while the others sweep to make sure the base is secure and it's clear there's some nerves for all of them. They hadn't expected to be found!

High above fighters scream through the air towards each other. The old but ever-functional Z-95's zoom towards the 'newer relic' X-Wings. Two on two, even numbers and talented pilots. Shields up and weapons charged, the security fighters break away to engage one target each while the pilots of Red Squadron plan their attack.

Ambrosia retracts her rubber-necking to report the situation ahead to the other Daggers. They must be close, as the Major doesn't utter a peep. Instead, she signals for eyes on her and squats to draw and invisible diagram across the floor panel with her finger, after flashing four fingers. Numbers 'one' and 'two' - her index and middle fingers dance then lands to point at a position just to the left of the imaginery ingress - and 'three' and 'four and a little further away, to the right. Lifting a finger to her lips, she points Gra and Sesti to take the two on the left and motions for Oriana and Atlan to come with her, then turns the corner and scrambles ahead as lowly as she can.

Crouching next to Amber, Sesti's eyes follow the lines ‘drawn’ on the floor, and actually seem to be understanding the imaginary outline. She gives one brief nod, and then turns to look up to Gaarurra to see if he understood. She considers for a moment, and then she shifts slightly, the vibroblade now held in the opposite hand of the blaster. She only watches for one second to make sure that the Major is off and their plan is in motion, before she goes at a crouch around to get as close as she can to the quarry before attacking.

Atlan E'ron nods as the orders are given out by the Major getting his blaster ready as he follows Amber around the corner to go after numbers three and four enemy soon to be dead guys. The cat tries to keep low which can be hard at his 2 meters of height as well as quiet.

Gaarurra looks over to the leader of the mission and gives a firm nod of understanding to the order. Its easy now to focus looking over to Sesti and nods to her in readiness it seems that it's a quiet mission and so he is perhaps prepared to go assassin style and snap the neck of the trooper blocking them from reaching their goal. Unless another idea is presented it seems quick and quietest in this matter.

Oriana, standing near the back and having been following, also making sure not to get hurt or anything, watches intently as they move forward. There is an acknowledging nod to them, and to Amber as she gives her hand signals and such. She'd then move to follow the Major, crouched low with blaster in hand and at the ready.

Someone following her lead is a novelty for Nym and she attempts to not sound overexcited at the prospect. "Looks like there's only the two of them. I'll take right, Red 3, you take left. Give a shout if you get tied up, I'll do the same. I think we can handle one each." It's not exactly bravado, but she does sound pretty confident in their ability to take them on. "Let's get 'em!" She gives Jax a moment to readjust to their new plan before focusing on the Z-95 coming at them on the right. Then, she's quick to start zigging and circling to make herself a hard target to get a bead on, firing at the older ship as soon as she's got a line of fire.

Jax frowns, "You got it Red 2." Then he peals off to the left. "Exine, hold on, I got a bad feeling about this. Two Z-95 pilots willing to engange X-wing pilots on equal footing? They're either stupid or good." He says as his X-wing goes fying to make a pass at the z-95 that Red 2 had ordered him to attack. As he draws a bead. He pulls the trigger firing.

"I don't like party crashers," comes Poe's voice over the comm. "This is Black Leader. Red 2, report. What's the count on our visitors? Have you engaged? ETA, six minutes to your position."

Damn. Figures he'd be caught on the far side of the patrol zone when something goes down. Usually he has fine instincts about where to be when trouble hits. It's a gift and a curse.

Three meters in, and the security team still hasn't spotted the unusal bunch stalking them and their wares. Ambrosia scans with peripherals as she goes, too preoccupied to fully appreciate the volume of this cavernous storage space and wonder about what goodies are tucked within all these crates. Right now, she has only eyes for the two guards her mini group is advancing on. Taking advantage of a nearby stack, between the door and the pursued, she pauses there and hunkers down before motioning for the others to follow suit.

Sometimes stealth isn't something that works well. One moment you can be a shadow...the next? Someone just happens to turn the wrong way and you're caught dead in the open, or someone knocks something and it all comes clattering down. Occasionally? It can happen to an entire team at once. The Resistance had got this far sneaking, but noone's luck can hold out for ever as one of the guards spots the approaching intruders, swearing in huttese before he yells his alert. "Over here!"

It's all going well, Sesti is low and quiet, but she can't see around the wookiee in front of her, so she eases out around another crate, and locks helmet visors with the guard. The swear in huttese is followed by one in zabrak, and she raises her blaster to take a shot before too much of an alarm can be raised.

Atlan E'ron doesn't quite manage the silent approach... Must be the armor yup thats it exactly. As the guards turn and identify them he blinks behind his visor a couple of times, "Drat." And he raises his blaster up and aims at the guards firing at one of the two the small team he's with is heading towards.

Gaarurra knew this would be a tough mission though sneaking around is a work in progress for the large figure of the wookiee as the shout goes up and their cover is blown he says something in his own tongue likely following along the lines of the cursing, though his bowcaster is brought up quickly and fired upon the second guard as to limit the trouble. "Find cover Sesti, we may have company." he says while moving to follow his own advise unless Sesti refuses.

Not all that graceful now Oriana well.. she wasn't graceful. They are seen, she had stumbled, what a fail. Suddenly blasters are going off so she lifts hers and shoots.

It might be best to stick together, but Nym doesn't see the dangers of it possibly being a trap. Instead, she keeps her sights on her Z-95, weaving through the bright red bolts as the opposing pilot attempts to shoot her down. As soon as she's close enough and finds the enemy in the line of fire, she squeezes the trigger - smashing a few shots against her opponent's shields. Then, they're careening past each other and she circles back in order to get another run - hopefully from behind. "We've got 2 Z-95s, Black Leader. Red 3 and I have engaged."

The Z-95 that Jax was engaging zipped past him and preforming a tight Koiogran to flip around on Jax's tail. Exine letting out a warning sound on Jax, "What do you mean he's on my tail? I told you these guys were good. It's alright I know some manuevers." Jax's X-wing dancing so he doesn't get shot. "Two can play this game. I'm faster and more agile." Jax pushing his stick to make a hard turn to the right beginning a tallon roll hitting the rudder pettle to once he competles the turns he's now facing 180 degrees than when he started out and to the right and continues turning to the right. Jax toggles his blaster to full fire as the Z-95 goes through his front arc, he pulls the trigger firing four blaster cannons at the Z-95.

"Only two? I don't like the sound of that." A beat, then Poe's voice cracks back on to the conn. "I don't like to say I told you so," another brief pause, then in a wry tone, "...but I did say it's never just turrets." He increases speed and comes seemingly out of nowhere to aim a series of shots at the ship attacking Nym. Once he's fired his shots, he pulls up sharply and rolls to the left to make himself a harder target.

Amber adds her own colorful quip to the Huttese curse. Green eyes flashing, she cuts a glance to the others, and barks into her com to give eyes in the sky an update. "It's about to get noisy, standby!" Blaster set to kill, she pops up and fires off a round at one of their targets, catching the guard full in the chest -- a staggering blow, but not lethal. Not yet. "Demo girl, hang tight - get ready to plant those explosives and set for remote detonation; we can blow it from the ship! Team - silence these bastards and Gra, you watch that door!"

Seeing that Oriana and Atlan's shots have gone wide, she blasts a round of her own at that guard to keep him/her at bay.

Blasters are useless anyways. She'd always thought as much, and the blaster goes away, the floor is a good enough place for it. Sesti's suddenly in motion, without hesitation, vibro dagger replacing the blaster she'd just dropped. The one who spotted her may wish he hadn't as sweeps for his legs with the blade in her left hand before finishing her charge with a thrust from her right.

The range is close but moving for cover and shooting isnt always the best way to fire, his bolt strikes the opponant in the shoulder, but he is still up and able to fire it seems. Gaarurra knows that cover is first choice though once its found he'll turn and quickly /fire/ another shot from his bowcaster hoping to bring the troop down before any reinforcements show up. The command to watch the door would be nodded to if his shot strikes or not and he'll hold his place of cover with his weapon leveled for shooting anything baddies which come through the door.

At the order from Amber there is a nod, Oriana stays back and out of the way, ready to set the explosives when the command comes.

Nym's shots miss the enemy pilot as the X-Wing closes in on the Z-95. Her own ship manages to narrowly avoid enemy bolts as she dips and loops her wings to avoid the heaviest of the fire. As Poe quickly arrives nearby and then rolls, she wings the opposite way, circling in a way to force the Z-95 to choose between targets. The young pilot then makes a quick loop, firing from above and then behind in an attempt to catch her target at an unexpected angle.

The shield readouts of the Enemy Z-95 reduce heavily as Jax's attack hit. "Red-2, how you doing over there?" As he continues his manuever to the right to try to get behind the Z-95 and closing quickly. The z-95 killing his thrust causing Jax to go sling shoting past him. Jax pulling the triggers as he goes past. It was brave and if Jax hit the Z-95 pilot might be in rough shape. If not he'd put Jax in a bad place quick and give the Z-95 a good shot on Jax.

Poe pulls up after splaying the fire out over the enemy ship. With BB-8 chirruping a string of binary into his ear, he executes a sharp bank to the left, then the right. After checking to be certain he's not going to hit Red 2 with any friendly fire, he lines up another series of shots. "This is Black Leader. Red 2, 3, report. When her original target drops, Ambrosia wastes no time in turning her weapon on the other. Her mouth is set in a grim line. There is no feeling, no time to empathize with poor souls on the receiving end - born into the wrong place or the wrong time. Because IN no time, reinforcements will realize their nest has been infiltrated.

Ah, success! Finally she makes a shot. About damn time too. The guy is down, more like dead. Breathing deep with the adrenaline Oriana steps forward bringing her blaster down eyes scanning the area still just to make sure nobody pops out unawares. "Set the charges now, Major?"

The maneuver on Nym's part doesn't pay off. While she manages to execute the tricky loop and roll, she loses sight of the target, hurtling past in too quick a space in order to actually fire. Instead, she pulls up, swooping in a long and zig-zagged arc. "Keeping a lot of space and hitting nothing but air," she replies to Jax, tone frustrated. Poe's shot takes down the Z-95 she was chasing, so she turns the X-Wing about to back up Jax - flying to his position. "Right behind you, Red-3." Using the moment to scan both the surface and her scanners, she calls out, "Looks like we're all clear, Black Leader. Not picking up anything."

The shields are destoryed and the Z-95, Jax is fighting starts to smoke and having problems keep in the air. Jax loops back around doing in a tight twist and switches to Photon torpedoes. He flips on his com, "Un-identified Z-95, You are to land immediately, exit your craft and surrender to ghe ground team. If you do not. I have a target lock on your craft and I have no problem finishing my job. You have 5 seconds to comply."

Poe understands the impulse to finish off the enemy in a situation like this. But to do so would be nothing short of an execution in a situation that's controlled and the enemy is wounded and outgunned.

He's about to open his comm to tell Jax to hold his fire when he hears the order to the fighter to land. He exhales and sits back, and smiles a little to himself. He moves his fighter into formation with the others and he too attempts a target lock on the lone smoking ship. "Good job, you two," he says over the comm. "Keep a lookout. I hate surprises. Let's just hope the ground crew's had the same luck."

Major Greystorm's last target staggered back, a smoking hole smoldering where once there was a shoulder, and half a second later, Oriana's zap to the heart put him down. She doesn't waste time in taking advantage of the lull in enemy attention and wheels around the crate, sliding on knee. Boots find traction, catching her up to her feet with a bold stride forward. She looks sternly down the barrel at the faceless masks lying there while delivering a swift kick with the toe of her boot. No response. The DY-255 clicks softly into its holster.

"Yeah, nice shot. Set those charges. Sesti?" She inquires, nodding towards the stack of crates that - according to the diagram - ought to contain their prizes. "Anybody know how to operate THAT?" she points to a cargo loader sitting dormant in the shadows. "If we're gonna claim this in the name of the Resistance we need it out that bay door /now/." Then, just in case command wasn't able to follow the jumble of noisy events, she adds "General, enemy unit guarding target is /down/. Attempting to relocate the goods." And she's on the first crate, trying to get it open for a peek.

 +SUCCESS+ (33).

Coming back up to a ready position with her knives, Sesti looks around, and then when Amber comes around, she stands and walks over to check the lading numbers and nods. "These are the ones, Major," she replies and looks to the cargo loader. She gives a shrug. "It is buttons and switches, is it not? How can it be that much different than controlling robotic arms?" she asks. Right. She glances around to make sure the coast is clear, and then heads over and hops on. After a few flips of switches, it finally turns on, and then she looks around.

With the motor humming, Sesti looks around again. She takes the controls in hand, "farhiva, fadewaetoo gafoonu ghiethivoow faethyko as ghevaethie jufydaag, wif hageav ghiethivoow oon sigh..." she looks behind her to the empty space where she wants to go, and shoots forward about a meter. "yhasu! atyfoo ghevaethie liem?" She looks down again, then clears her throat. Right. She's got this. This time, the cargo loader goes backwards, and then turns with a few jerks, to head over towards the cargo they want. Now this part, she has, once the loader is parked, the arm comes down to heft a couple of the crates onto the bed.

Atlan E'ron watches as the last guy goes down and holsters his blaster shaking his head at his two missed shots, "Going to go back to my sword this blaster thing is just stupid." He loosens his sword in its scabbard but doesn't draw it out for right now.

There is a bit of a click as the blaster is tucked back into place at her side. Oriana can't do her work with her hands full. Steps are light - well a light as they can be with armour on, as she moves quickly about bringing a charge up and placing it on its new but short term home. Through every one she checks, double checks, to make sure all is in order. Once her rather quick work is done. Looking over to Atlan she smirks, turning to head to the group speaking to on the way. "Guess being a human female isn't so bad." Looking to Sesti as she gets the loader going she watches a second and then eyes move to Amber. "All charges ready and set to go on your order, Major."

Managing to pry the crate, Ambrosia puts her back into it and opens the lid just a crack. Holding it there with a shoulder, she shines a light inside and whistles through her teeth. "I'm in love," she announces and lets the lid slam shut again. Just in time, too, as Sesti's rough loading skills come jerkily zooming along. She smirks, but says nothing, simply backing away and glancing to Gra at the door. Still no activity there.

She nods bluntly to Ori and Atlan. "Watch my ass," she orders and marches briskly to the bay door controls for a looksee. "Get our ride ready, out there-" a request for their pilot. "We've got some treasure to get on board before we light the inferno."

Atlan E'ron is watching the door like he was told to and then more security comes in and starts shooting... As the rest of the team begins to exfil from the warehouse with the loader he follows in with them trying to dodge with a nice little serpentine pattern anddddd bam he zags instead of zigs and takes a blaster into his shoulder, "Crap. I'm hit." He looks over at the shoulder and then back over at the rest of the team, "But I'm good."

The second crate is loaded, and the cargo hauler is looking a little low. Sesti starts the arm out for the third one, but then a blaster bolt skims past her head, and she ducks a second one and hunkers down at the controls. The engines whine a little as she stows the arm and heads towards the doors. As she gets closer to the major, she lowers the arm to the woman for her to grab on. She looks back to Kael and Oriana, and risks lifting one hand from the controls. "Jump on!" she tells them, before looking forward again so she can steer through, rather than into, the doorway.

The old rebel had just managed to coax the bay doors open with a low, shuddering groan and hiss when the executed unit's backup arrives. Her 'watched' ass becomes a target, faster than she can turn around to return fire. A rifle burst of plasma sears through the rear plating on her back, endangering a kidney and who knows what. "ShhhhpppEEDUNKY!" She hurls through the air, making do with the first combination of swears that come to mind, blending it with a touch of Huttese. Her grimace is an ugly one, glare seething as she fires a shot blindly over her shoulder while stumbling out and around the edge of the opening door.

"You'd better have that ramp down, or so help you..." she snarls to the poor pilot on the other end of the com line as they spill out into the dark, the Major clinging to the cargo loader's arm as it goes by.

Once more her blaster is taken up, she hurries forward to be cover. Stopping, looking around to get a visual on the area more security comes in. Lifting her gun a few shots would be fired off, in hopes to take one or two down so they can easily make their way. As they move out she'd move as fast and smoothly as she can, but the armour doesn't make it as smooth and easy as she would like. Part of the job though. There is a sharp pain in her shoulder suddenly. She gets hit, and one skims across her leg. "Damn it ---" The rest of the cursing is muttered under her breath while her jaw tenses up. There is now way she is going to let this stop her from getting away, even if there is a bit of a drag of that leg and slump of that shoulder. It's not that bad, enough to sting. She'll say nothing else of it and look up to Sesti and hops on, looking to the Major and Altan. "You both okay?" She asks, concerned for their well being, as they both look hurt.

As the shuttle climbs into the air several blaster bolts chase it into the heavens, impacting against its hull as the remainder of the security team does its best to try and take down the escaping intruders. They'd lost their AA guns, they'd lost men, but at least they'd caused a few wounds on the Resistance side. Only half their cargo had been stolen too, something positive to report back to the First Order. Maybe they'll get to keep their jobs when this is all over!

Such a thought for the security guards is sadly short-lived however as the planted charges detonate in spectacular fashion. A small burst innitially, the explosives set off the remaining weaponry in a violent burst, a chain-reaction with some other unknown cargo in the warehouse culminates in an explosion that rocks the shuttle while leaving half the base a gutted wreck in a single instant.

It's clear that Amber's in a lot of pain, but she doesn't utter a peep more on board - not till they're in hyperspace. Instead, she rips off her helmet, flashes a thumbs-up to whomever is watching, and drops into a seat. Gingerly. More like /curls/ into a seat with a sideways lean. One arm threads through the restraints, securing herself moderately there.

Eventually though, there's a soft inquiry from the Major - "Nobody's gonna die on me, right? Everybody in more or less one piece?"

There's a new ding in the shuttle wall, but the cargo loader is stopped, and powers down. Sesti hops out, and goes over towards the Major, swinging her med kit around. "Here, let me take a look," she says to the woman, as she unclasps the lid on the kit.

As the Z-95 breaks off and run. It doesn't make any motion to move to the ground crew or the shuttle. Jax lets out a sigh. "Like that's not going to come back to bite us." He though moves into formation with the Shuttle and escorts it off planet and then into hyper space.

As the Z-95 powers down the weapons, Nym relaxes and looks toward the surface and the shuttle, starting to position the X-Wing into an escort formation. That's to her detriment, as when the ship actually speeds off, there's simply no time to either fire or chase it without breaking away from their shuttle - something she's not willing to do. She mutters a curse under her breathe before responding to Jax, "They've got no way of figuring out where we came from. No matter what, they were gonna know someone here either way." At least, that's the way she sees it. She's an optimistic sort.
