Taris. Midnight. Perfect time to rob a museum. At least, for theatrics. Not so long ago, a grafitti happened around the Iridonian Exhibit, concerning one sword in particular. Now, there is the time to reclaim the old heirloom of the Iridonian people, lost in times of conflict. Now, there is the question of how to go into the museum to begin with. It is known, that the sword was moved to a vault in the night, to prevent that exact scenario... but what is the vault if not yet another thing to break in through? But first, how to access the museum? A ventilation shaft? Sewers? Go in through the front door? That, is up for our team of enterprising heroes to decide.

It had been the space of a few days, for the pair of conspirators to become a trio. Long enough for a schematic of the building to be located, and a session to be planned to be convened. It had been decided, generally speaking, that entry through the ventilation system, which was the least likely to be shut down, given that those within both needed to breath and the environmental control systems needed to run continually, that the team decided to make their entry that way. An access point on the rear of the building a good distance away from the loading dock was chosen, and it was there Nerys waited, her small droid clinging to her neck as he was wont to do.

It was a choice between flexibility for ease of use and being completely at the mercy of blaster fire. Dyannah chose trooper armor, durable medium armor that would allow her to carry tools, and scoot through small places as well as use the low light option of the small helmet if she needed it. One blaster at her side, a DL-30, holstered to allow her to slide on her belly but still draw if caught in a tight place.

Few words needed to be said to the other two, they had gone over their plans well enough to use hand signals or ear beads between them. Subvocalizing, "Good here. Cable reel in my backpack. Ready?"

Technically, a heist is just a mission with a different objective. While Nova couldn't be in on the recon, she's happy enough to join her friends on the job itself. That they're filching a treasure the Iridonian culture would be happy to have returned only adds a measure of satisfaction to the task: One of her best friends and fellow warriors is a Zabrak.

So here she is joining Nerys and Dya at that access point, her wrist computer ready to go. She's dressed in a black jacket, pants, boots, and gloves, naturally, with a hood over her blonde hair and a bandanna pulled up over her nose, leaving only her eyes showing. <Hey,> she whispers over her com throat mic. <Ready... and I see a terminal over there. Just need a sec... maybe I can make this a little easier for us.> She SCOMP-links into the access panel and goes to work. It's several seconds before she looks up again. <Jackpot. That'll take care of the outer alarms. Now we just have to get inside.>

Once the team was in place, Nerys peered up at the access point, a vent which was large enough to fit any of the three women on the team. "HiBall, access the vent and hold it aside while we get inside." The ID10 unit did not chitter his acknowledgement, as they were trying to be quiet, but he did drift upward to work at the opening of the vent using his 'hands' to release the cover, and his feet to hold it while the team made their entry, leaving his hands free to help if it was needed. "Looks like I'm up." It was Nerys first, who made the jump, fingers catching at the edge of the opening of the shaft and drawing herself up, shimmying into the ventilation duct to make room for the others to follow, turning once she was inside to arrange herself so that she could hand up anyone who needed it.

Too many wounds close together are telling on Dyannah. She knows it as soon as she makes the leap after Nerys and her droid. One hand just makes the lip of vent, her booted feet scuffle and scramble beneath her trying to keep purchase, sounding overload in the night. Her right shoulder fresh out of the bacta tank screamed at her when she tried to make the grab.

A low disgusted grunt can be heard over coms and she struggles, just as she is about to let go, a hand is under one of her dangling feet pushing her just those few centimeters extra that allow her to get purchase with her sore arm. Another push from below and she shimmies into the vent with a relieved sigh.

<<"Moonbeam, you're one strong woman. Thanks!">>

<Anytime,> Moonbeam replies, a hint of a smile evident in her voice. She crouches to make the leap herself. <Coming in!>

She launches herself, gets hold of the vent opening, and pulls herself up... wincing as she feels the lip catch on her hip pockets. She gives another pull and is inside within moments. <Little tight of a fit... better lay off the donuts, I guess.>

And once they are in., the way to the vault leads towards an exhibition about primitive system, towards a door, with a fittingly primitive lock... a mechanical one, which is different to what would be expected. Is it what it is though, however? Noalarm nearby for sure, none went off..... but why would a museum entrust the security towards such a simple lock? Can anyone here even crack it?

The trip through the vents was easy enough, relatively speaking. HiBall had replaced the vent cover so as not to alarm anyone walking by the building. None of the women managed to get that stuck that they had to lament not having greased themselves up beforehand. So, it was boots down for Nerys, the sound relatively quiet as she uses the grav belt on her armor to hand herself down, staying beneath the access panel to help the other two down if they needed it. HiBall, for all his small size staying close to help too. That's what he was, a helpful droid.

Soon enough, they were making their way through towards the vault, the first of the barriers bringing a frown to Nerys' face. "Huh." She glanced to the floating droid, "See if you can trace this system. It can't be that easy." And it wasn't, as Nerys worked at the lock, and HiBall investigated the system. "There's an alarm embadded in the lock here, but I can't quite reach it." HiBall flexed his...well, they weren't really fingers. The droid equivalent of 'I'm all thumbs.' "Can one of you give it a try? Can you see the connectors in there?"

Nova, last out of the duct, has to catch herself and reorient to not just fall out of the opening. She manages to get her feet pointed the right way, coming out and landing on them. <Definitely a tight fit...>

She moves to assist Nerys, frowning at the lock she can see. <Wow... that's a real antique.> She pulls out her glow rod to give Nerys, HiBall, and Dyannah some better light, holding it close so as not to obviously light the room.

<Look low. Some of those mechanisms look like locks themselves, simple ones.>

Their first obstacle belongs in a museum itself. It's unexpected, but they prepared for all eventualities. After a silent shrug to both Nova and Nerys, it is her turn to hunker down in front of the alarmed lock and begin to dismantle it. Holding a small powerful light between her teeth, she sets about her business.

First step, she mag-locks a device to the alarm that reads code and tells it that everything is closed and fine until the morning. Second step, she extracts a set of tools, very old fashioned, and begins to jimmy it open with a plasteel wire. Precious minutes pass before she gives a thumbs up to the others, <<"Here, we go. Any guard passing through her will see its been broken in to though.">>

Once the team gets past the door they are.... greeted by a cargo lift. And once that is taken down, they are greeted by a... darkened underground corridor. Dark pillars, walls, ground... a fusebox is visible at a corner, and right past the first set of pillars, a criss-crossed set of lasers, likely setting off an alarm. It has a room for a person to dance past it. Next to a fuse box on this end, there is a card reader, and a card is visible at a table.... on the other end of the pattern. And shortly after it.... there is the lock of the vault. As if it invited someone to dance past it. Might not be the smartest idea though, given the fusebox. Let's hope the guards won't notice the lock before they are done.

Nerys frowned, as the made their way past the door, "I have no doubt things will go pear-shaped before they go perfectly." because it always did. But they were already inside and there was no way to go expect forward. And so, Nerys continued on, scanning the rooms and corridors as they moved, tryusting to her better vision and the augmentation of her suit to see her through. Turning on the lights would be too much like painting a target on their backs. "because of course there is." These museums did love their laser traps. "Alright, I see the junction box." She and HiBall moved in that direction, Nerys going up on her tiptoes to try to tug it open. She reached out, fingers tracing the air as she tried to trace back the diagram on the cover with the fuses she could see. But when she reached for one of the fuses, HiBall's left arm reached out, a mild shock tazing her fingers, which she snatched back with a low hiss. He gave her a look, his single eyeball glowing, as he nudged her aside to work on deactivating it. This was what he was for. Not just to look pretty on her shoulder.

<<"We're in. This is almost too easy. You all ready for the next step?">> Dyannah is looking at the room and the vault door with something close to disbelief.

Nerys, still looking a bit sulky, though no one could see it but her droid, snapped her eyes towards the two women with her as the call came for the traps. "Because of course there are. You know, if that guy happens to be in there leering over that sword, you better get your blaster ready. he's put me in a mood." But she was the lucky one, as she was able to track where Nova and Dyannah had already stepped and followed in their wake. HiBall, of course, simply floated his way ahead. Lucky droid was lucky.

<Consider me read- /whoa/!> Nova interrupts herself, twisting aside as /something/ hisses past her shoulder! Whatever it is, it hits the wall with a faint clatter. <Trap! Watch your steps, girls! No lasers left, and I didn't feel any wires... must be floor pressure plates!>

More watchful now, she steals up to the lock at the end of the corridor. <Looks like a three-way lock, old, modern, and computer. I'll see what I can do about the computer part...>

So saying, she crouches over the access panel and plugs in her SCOMP-link, getting to work. This one is a much longer job, considering the sophistication of the mechanism and the code. But it's only a matter of time... The light above the computer keypad goes from green to red. <Beautiful... that part's down. It's all you from here, girls.>

With a swift intake of breath, Dyannah freezes in place. A dart had whistled by her ear. Exhaling slowly, she follows in Nova's exact footsteps and waits, her head swiveling as she keeps a constant scan on the area. The green light blinks beautifully signaling the next phase of the heist.

<<"Ready to open the door?">>

"Feel free," Nerys offered, as she waved the droid ahead of her, who hovered down to the level of the mechanical locks, the red of his eyeball fluttering. Was the droid laughing? The world would never know. He was a //professional//, ladies. He did seem to be studying the lock, waiting for Nova to disable to computer segment of the lock before he allowed his nimble little droid digits to work at the remaining portions of the lock.

"Alright." Nerys moved ahead, looking back at the two others. "I'm not usually the meatshield, but he took the night off." Nerys tried the door, first putting her ear to the door to see if she could hear anything beyond before she'd crack the door open just enough to get a peek inside. "Stay out of the line of sight of anything inside.

Now, the cracked door opens with a faint click as it opens automatically, if slowly. And inside.... a huge warehouse. But to the right... a force field. With a card reader before it, likely to disable it. And after the field, a long, narrow... plank, to best describe it, leading towards the sword on a display stand... something seems off here.

So, the situation is as follows. After you go into the vault, there on the right hand side was a card reader, with a dart shooter, which Nerys dodged and used to disable a forcefield. Behind the forcefield is a ledge, If you step on it, 30 feet of it plop down, throwing you onto nets an equal distance down. On the other side of that hole, is the sword on a swordstand on a small platform. Now, Nerys, once Nova climbed up the ledge she sent down, found a lever, which sends the ledge back up, eliminating the 30 feet hole.

The system at times seems as old as the museum but it doesn't make it less deadly. The pffft of a dart makes a deadly displacement of air then clatters to the floor. Call it instinct. Dyannah unholsters a gun whose inaccuracy is legendary but which has a cable launcher on it. She holds it up for the others to see.

<"I don't like the looks of the floor. What do you think?">>

<Ooh... that's high,> Nova murmurs, seeing where they need to go: A ledge about twenty meters up from the floor. Noting Dyannah's sidearm, she extends a hand. <Mind if I borrow your S5? That ascention gun would get me up there. Then I just have to get to the sword...>

With the heavy pistol in hand, the blonde soldier gets a line up to the ceiling, climbing up to the ledge with the cable's aid. Then she steps out onto the plank...

There's a startling sound of something giving way, and a yelp as Nova suddenly vanishes from sight! It's a few seconds before the startled cries die down. <I'm... I'm okay! I'm just kinda caught... in a net,> comes her brief sitrep, consternation and embarrassment apparent in her tone. <Dy? Nerys? I just need a minute to get myself out. Both my feet went through the net. Note to the wise: Don't land that way on ropes. It really hurts!>

She takes aim and looses another cable dart, sinking it into the ceiling and beginning to winch herself up. The net pulls and catches at her legs, but she manages to free them and get herself the rest of the way up, kicking once or twice to swing back to the beginning of the ledge. She pushes the weapon clear of the ledge and reverses the winch, letting the weapon return to Dy.

Nerys, who was, for the moment, leaving the ledge to the others, moved with HiBall over to investigate the security surrounding the prize. She opened her mouth, but it was too late, and as soon as she was about to get a word out, the floor fell out, literally, and Nova was plunging down to...where, she didn't know. "Hold on! We'll get you out!" Or not, as the line shot up, the bolt hooking into the ceiling and allowing the woman to hoist herself back up, "Just a minute. HiBall, go look at that sword and see if you can find out how it's trapped." Because it was all trapped. "Who came up with this place, anyway, an out of work game designer?" Nerys, frowning, reached out to put down on a button, which, luckily did not drop out the rest of the floor, but allowed the ledge to rise back to crossing height. "Get clear of the edge." No one wanted to lose a limb here.

HiBall, his voice a litle prissy as he modulated his vocorder for a language the ladies could understand, hovered over towards the sword, "Do you do this every day, Mistresses? This is so much better than being with the other one." He paused, eye flashing as he investigated the sword and then used his 'feet' to grab it, the dart that flew out flying past him and pinging harmlessly off on a wall, "Thwarted by the inorganic."

And so, the sword was rescued by the inorganic. HE deserves a good power socket! Now, the issue is... leaving quietly. The theft will be discovered in the morning, but best not set anyone off.

Hovering on the lip of the fall, Dyannah watches the others in the crew with a mixture of trepidation and amusement. The droid has a sense of humor that brings a tight smile on her face. Their objective nabbed, it's simply a matter of retracing their steps without setting off more alarms. Shifting nervously from foot to foot, she consults her chronometer.

<"Next guard round should be coming up soon. Time for us to get out of here. Quietly.">

<Well, we know the way back,> Nova says, making the descent from the ledge to the floor again. <Just have to walk soft. We've been awfully lucky so far. That can't hold for much longer.> She leads off towards the door they entered through, pausing to peek into the corridor in case any guards are there.

With HiBall retrieving the prize, which he gathered up tightly to his body with his feet, Nerys waited for her droid to return to her while the group gathered back up, "Weapons out until we're out ourselves," that was her suggestion. And she did so, retrieving the baton from its sling on her side, a squeeze of her fingers at the grip telescoping it into its full bow form. "Protect the droid." HiBall, though, retrieved his own blaster from his chassis, the vibrosaw on his other hand activating. "I am fully capable of self-defense, Mistresses." But that didn't mean he was going first as they made their way out. "But I do enjoy being guarded. The other one just sends me into danger."
