WANTED: Leia Organa (Failed)

OOC Date: November 30, 2019
Location: Starport Sector, Nar Shaddaa
Participants: Leia Organa, Zul Gradnk, Tharyn Corlas, Boba Fett, Oran Arcantael, Sumi Kora

<"A breacher. Interesting. Would you be available for hire?"> This is directed at Tharyn. <"There's a hostage situation in Coronet, at the holonet headquarters. I'm on my way to assemble a team to respond. I don't believe we have any breachers; perhaps your experience will give us an edge we don't normally have."> Sumi uncrosses her arms and places her hands upon her hips. When Aoibhe asks what the plan is, Sumi looks her way. <"Looks like Zee moved ahead. You can join her if you like. I'll be along shortly.">

Zul Gradnk nods, smiling "Sure." she says, handing her hand out "I will take the formula and order it." she explains, raisng an eyebrow and gulping "And... hostage?" she asks, shocked "Why?"

Aoibhe nods a bit to that and glances towards Sumi. "Got it. See you soon." She glances about at the others and offers a parting wave. The blonde then turns and checks over her armor and quipment for a moment. She then turns and makes her way into the Guild, turning her back on everything happening behind her.

"I am always available for hire, especially if the cause is a just one such as, uh, that." Tharyn nods once to the Mandalorian woman. "I'm decently skilled in the use of explosives and grenades in general. Though I am also heavily bionically augmented, and can punch through durasteel and masonry with my bare hands if need be." He flicks a glance Aoibhe's way as she goes, then returns to look into Sumi's visor once more. "Part of my caginess when last we, uh, met. Hunters and I don't always, uh, get along. Especially when they, uh, assume I'm just another scum, which I admit I, uh, look like." He gestures down at himself. "But, I am, um, doing much better for myself these days."

Tharyn, Zul and Sumi stand along the trade street, washed in neon light and the waves of the pedestrian sea. He stands with hands at his sides, back and away from the gun on his hip - which is a smart thing, really, when one seeks to speak peacefully with a Mandalorian. "I have a ship, uh, and all. My partner's a slicer. We're just getting the new boat, uh, broken in, but it can be used for transport if, uh, necessary."

The streets of Nar Shaddaa are, by their existance, naturally dark. The towering eclipse of tall buildings casts long shadows over the dingy, dirty thoroughfare with not but hologenic neon signs to illuminate in many places. Vendors peddle, scammers scam.. it's part and parcel of the Smugglers Moon.

Into this hive of scum walks a woman whose presence is far bigger than she is. Barely five feet, she still commands respect, bleeding it off her white clad shoulders, and leaving behind a sense of contentment in her wake. Her heavy hood drapes down across her features, white robes visible with each step, she is the anti-Nar Shaddaa. Standing out like a beacon amidst the darkness for the glowing radiance in the Living Force.

Leia Organa is, by /her/ existance, an embodiment of Hope that stands in direct conflict to the dreary nature of the Moon.

All that flowery, objective, hyperbole said, she still stops at a vendor with a smile, looking down casually at wares with a critical eye.

Sumi Kora was nodding her head, listening to Tharyn when her gaze lifted slightly. BHG interface had a match, and her helmet's optics honed in on.. What was this? Leia Organa. Sumi's pulse accelerated and she could suddenly hear her own heart beat. Brushing her cape back suddenly, Sumi reveals the seated DL-44 holstered upon her thigh and the heavy belt that held it up. She triggered a beacon upon her belt while her free hand ejected a control stick which she pressed with her thumb. Almost immediately, her jet pack screamed to life kicking up a gust of dust and small bits of trash as she went airborne to close the distance.

There was no mistaking the sound of her landing because people gawked, screamed, and fell out of her path when she landed behind Princess Leia Organa. Sumi rests her hand upon the fine finished pistol grip of her blaster, its restraining strap already popped and loosened to draw her weapon should the need arise.

<"Your Highness; Princess Leia."> Sumi says firmly, her tone and accent distinctive of the war torn part of the galaxy everyone wanted to forget. <"I must insist that you not do anything hasty. I'm sworn by the tenets of the Bounty Hunters' Guild to apprehend you alive. And while it's an honor to stand in the presence of royalty, I must insist that you come with me. Please.">

Zul Gradnk blinks, turning around happy, all like a giddy fangirl "Princess LEia!" she claims, an earcone splitting grin, jumping in place even "It is an honour to meet you." she claims, going over and beaming "I, uhm...." she stops for a second "Want to tahnk you for everything you did." she claims, happy, not yet noticing Sumi drawing her blaster, too excited about meeting the War Hero. So, no attention is paid to Sumi

Tharyn was raised on a Rim world, far away from Galactic society - even free of the Empire, as its forces were only just pushing out to their pocket of isolated space until the very last days of Palpatine's rule. He has no idea who this woman is, nor why Sumi would want to take her; he only knows that Sumi was talking to him one moment, then flew away to apparently apprehend the woman in white. He simply shrugs, though he keeps an eye on the situation as he draws a small datapad from his jacket to peruse whilst the Mandalorian goes about her business.

"How much for this?" Leia asks the vendor, even once Sumi has landed behind her. The sheer weight of calm rolling off the small, white robed woman is mind numbing. A fully armed, armored, and jetpacking Mandalorian requesting her surrender and she's more concerned about the price of a bauble in her upturned hand.

The same cannot be said for the vendor... he is staring, awe struck by the revelation of his customers identity, but completely terrified of the possibility that combat may yet be on the horizon with the advent appearance of Sumi behind the Princess of Alderaan. With her question met with silence, the General sighs softly, noticably lowering her shoulders further when her name is called out by an unknown woman shouting excitedly some distance away from where she was shopping.

The bauble is set back down amongst the others so that empty hands can reach up and brush her hood back from her hair. Dark chestnut brown with only the first trace of grey at the temples is twisted into an elegant braid running down across her left shoulder turns to regard the armored figure behind her. Following to stand infront of the familiar visage of a Mandalorian, even if the woman inside is unknown to her.

"I would love to acquiesce to your polite directive." Her hands remain linked together in the oposite sleeve of her robes, "Unfortunately, I am not in a position where I can oblige..." While she's begun to show signs of her age, her eyes remain defiant in their youthful exuberance.

"I'm sure you understand."

<"Princess. This is the final warning. We can do this peacefully, and no one needs be harmed."> Then Sumi produces the weapon by her side, switching it to stun. <"Or I'll be forced to violence and I'd rather keep your dignity intact."> Sumi's freehand waves back, gesturing for more than just balance. <"Stay back, Zul. If you step near her, I'll take you in too!"> The voice that emits from beneath the helmet is that of a seasoned soldier, one used to giving commands in battle. Sumi's helmeted head tilts slightly, Leia's reflection appearing in the Mandalorian's reflective silver visor.

Zul Gradnk blinks, stopping and pouting "And here I wanted an autograph." she claims, sighing, looking at Sumi "I mean, certainly, you don't need to arrest her right now..." she offers, staying back still "And she didn't do anything *yet*" she adds, tilting her head, stepping back still, as she can't do much against a Mando, still annoyed

It isn't fair, of course. It's never fair. There is no law on Nar Shaddaa, not really. The Guild is the only thing close to it, the Guild and private security - which makes him something of the law himself, but not here. Not his client, not his region of authority. But a few years ago, he would have been different; a few years ago, his authority spanned an entire planet. A few years ago, with all his systems intact, he might well have snapped the Mandalorian's spine and folded her in half without breaking stride. But they are not, and he does not know who this Princess is. Royalty misbehave all the time, even the older matrons - still beautiful, still wealthy, still inviting all manner of bad behaviors to have bounties called upon their heads for. He's certainly seen it before.

But it is now, and no longer does Tharyn carry the office and authority of past days. It's not even the correct planet. And while he is still a terrifying opponent in many ways, he is but a shadow of the bionically-enhanced juggernaut that he was before leaving home. He has no reference, no understanding, of what scene unfolds before him. Sumi has a contract, and such as it is, the law is the law. The Mandalorian is being no bully in her arrest as to spark his ire, either. In his ignorance, all seems perfect and to the letter of things on Nar Shaddaa.

"If you take me in, peacefully or otherwise, there will be violence. The compunctions of the individuals who placed the bounty on me are not behooved towards nonviolent deescalation.." Leia shakes her head slowly, almost sadly, at the Mandalorian unholstering her blaster pistol. "I appreciate your deference for my dignity. I'll remember it." She's no more reached for her weapon as she's moved at all, except by way of her gaze that drifts to the faces of passersby to ultimately fall back upon the Bounty Hunter infront of her.

"Don't let your desire for credits lead you to making a mistake that might get someone hurt." She likely includes herself in that statement, but she seems accepting of the possibility. By contrast, she regards the civilians now watching the exchange with rapt attention with a bit more protectively.

"I am... not in a position to offer an autograph." To Zul, without taking her brown eyes away from Sumi's reflective visor, "But I appreciate your enthusiasm. Do as the Mandalorian says and not approach.. I don't want you to get accidentally injured when she attempts to arrest me." Clearly thinking that is precisely what Sumi aims to do.

Gor Bullet, the director of the Bounty Hunters Guild, steps out of the guild headquarters and starts to move at a casual clip. It only takes him a few moments to get to where Sumi Kora is based on the information he was given by the guild's tracking drones in this area. When he arrives he approaches from her left side. "Hunter." He speaks out to get Sumi's attention, but his eyes soon travel over to Leia, catching the last bit of what she was just saying.

He stares at her. No fancy helmet, no fancy armor, just a black jacket and dark colored jeans. His hands are even inside of his jacket pockets.

"What could possibly possess you..." He says to Leia now. "To come here, of all places?" The aged man has a calmness about him, his brow line furrowed and his eyes almost peering at the Princess suspiciously... though if you know Gor Bullet, you know he looks at everyone that way. With suspicion.

<"It's violence then.">

Sumi punctuates this revelation with a discerning tilt of her helmet and the raise of her weapon. The DL-44, by all accounts, is a dangerous handcannon when placed in the hands of an expert. Sumi fires. The stun array is a remarkable blue array that makes for a glimmering show as it sails toward Leia, catching purchase on something but having no desired effect.

Sumi turns then, throwing her free hand wild for balance as she fires off a subsequent hammered pair. They miss, striking the stalls and sending sentients for cover while trash and wares go airborne. The title 'Hunter' earns Sumi's attention just after she tumbles for cover. With her back planted there, she looks up at Gor Bullet, her guild's master, and allows him an attempt at negotiation. Meanwhile, amidst the smoking of her weapon, Sumi glances down at her belt where her beacon to the First Order asset begins to blink faster. Reinforcements.

Zul Gradnk eeeeps loudly, raising both her hands and lekku, blinking and worried "DON'T SHOOT ME!" she yells at Sumi "I DID NOTHING!" she claims. At least for now, biting her lip

And then there is gunfire. Though he recognizes the blasts as stun fire, Tharyn steps forward and interposes himself between the growing number of hunters and the frightened Zul - he's not police anymore, but he still knows how to protect the innocent. "Get behind me," he tells Zul, though his voice is no longer slow and plodding; razor-sharp, hard, rich with authority and command. Though he suffer from no small amount of neurological trauma, the man he once was bleeds through in the moment.

And then he balls his fists, preparing for violence himself should he need to. Simple gesture, that. Shouldn't mean anything in the face of overwhelming firepower and bes'kar plating. But what was he just telling Sumi before Leia drew her attention? In the moment, would she even remember?

The appearance of Gor Bullet would usually distract anyone, but Leia is noticably comfortable beneath the suspicious stare of the Bounty Hunter.. There is, however, violence afoot... and the nominally older woman is spry for her age... Defying it, by all accounts, and as the blaster sparks blue across the short distance she moves with a predators cunning grace, ducking dangerously beneath the lance of one bolt that sizzles across her white robed shoulder, and then dancing quickly to either side of the second and third.

In the aftermath, her hand extends towards the Mandalorian and the blaster leaps out of her gauntleted hand, twirls end over end, and lands in the General's out stretched palm. With a relative ease of a trained soldier, she ejects the energy cell, pushes the receiving slide back, and seperates it into two halves... one is tossed off to her right, the other half to her left.

"You don't have to do this, Mandalorian." Her voice is calm, her gaze shifting, just slightly, towards Gor.. "Because hiding in a cave doesn't win hearts and minds... you should know me better than that. If you want to make a difference, you do it infront of the galaxy, not standing behind a wall shouting from the balwerk.." Looking back to Sumi.

"Do the right thing, Bounty Hunter. Stand down."

"What could possibly possess you to come here of all places." It's a good question dryly echoed by a Coruscanti voice; the speaker is a dark man of unremarkable height in black robes, stepping into the area of commotion after exiting a sleek black air-taxi. Oran's expression is a somewhere between grimness, surprise, annoyance, wariness... a whole cocktail of what-the-hell written across features that really didn't expect to be taking all this in today.

Both brows lift as he watches Sumi's weapon fly; there's a familiar looking sort of cylinder in his right hand but as yet, no blade. "But here we are, here you are, and you can't begin to think you'd just walk out of here, would you? A reunion is absolutely in order. Stand down, Organa, or we stand to make rather a mess of this street. Do the right thing."

Gor doesn't shy away from the weapon fire. He just stands there and watches it. All of it. Leia's reaction, the others nearby who scatter about. What he does do afterward is draw a comm unit from his jacket pocket and raises it up to speak softly into it. "No more Hunters in this area. There's no threat here."

He lowers the comm unit and places it back inside his jacket. His eyes go between Sumi and Leia specifically, but settle on Sumi, but he speaks to Leia. "She's a good Hunter. Dedicated. Capable. She catches a lot of bad people." His eyes go then to Leia. "You may have bitten off more than you can chew. Finally."

He smirks at her then before he looks back to Sumi, but before he can say much else... Oran arrives. He sighs, sharply. He looks back to Leia after Oran speaks. "I think you should've stayed in the cave. Or at least brought more people with you."

Zul Gradnk blinks, hiding behind Tharyn as she instructs, bklinking as she hears the dark man... what did she just walk into? This... doesn't bode well at all... she should have gotten breakfast in the correlian

Sumi watches with objection as her weapon is keenly dismantled before her eyes. Annoyed by this interaction, Sumi emerges from her place of cover, seeing as the Force could influence beyond it, and stepped beside Gor Bullet, catching his gaze to mean that she'd bitten off more than she could chew. Perhaps. Perhaps not?

Just then, the Knight of Ren known as Lord Oran Arcantael made his arrival known, which reinvigorated Sumi's trust in the Order delivering when she asked for help. A scarred face beneath the visor smirked, and Sumi raised her gauntlet up then, intiating the harpoon feature upon the wrist device. <"I hope you brought reinforcements, Lord Oran. The Princess refuses to comply."> Sumi does not fire yet. There's an art to tripping someone up.

He has no idea who this woman is. The men who come to arrest her - Gor Bullet, he knows. Sumi, too, the Hunters. But now there's talk of messing the street, and instincts long buried begin to return. Occasionally hazy, he remembers words spoken to him in the well-lit rooms of an academy, long ago, far away. /The duty of each being to their neighbor is common defense, common justice, and the support of their ability to live free of fear and injury. The duty of every Guard is to ensure these things for all./ He had no interest in interfering in this event, but if common citizens are being threatened, he has no recourse but to step forward.

"Best to get back, Miss Zul." Still the steely tone, though gentler now. It still could be just fine. No incident, no violence. But he takes a step toward the group. Then another. Hands at his sides, away from bulky blaster on his hip. Still...perfectly...safe. Stands, waiting.

There it is. A Knight of Ren. The champions of her son... or the man who he has become.

Leia closes her eyes and opens them turned upon Oran.. "Of course you would destroy the city to capture me.. How heroic of you." She says quietly, knowingly, likely intentionally. She hadn't hidden, hadn't pretend to be anyone other than who she is. Even now grinning, if only slightly, as the odds stack firmly against her with the appearance of Oran Arcantael and Gor Bullet to assist Sumi Kora in apprehension.

"Perhaps I should have." She agrees, but doesn't seem inclined to send comms for any backup that might be waiting in the wings, whether there or not. She stands quietly, hands folding back into the sleeves of her robes, watching the trio of Gor Bullet, Sumi Kora, and Oran Arcantael. She's not yet surrendering or, by posture, doesn't appear to be.

"Heroic!" Oran laughs. "Don't you speak that evil over me, Organa, I wouldn't countenance the thought. We're not heroes. We're doing what needs to be done, without the pretension that it's anything other than what it is. The heroism, the theatrics, and the lying about what is necessary..... this we leave to you." He starts to move toward her, slowly.

"But yes, innocent people and infrastructure stand to be destroyed here; I find this collateral damage acceptable and you ought to consider whether the same is true for you." Both brows lift. "Or you could come with me, quietly, without this needless drama, and speak with someone who - perhaps - has rather a lot to say to you. Stand down. Stand. Down. You're outnumbered and you know it."

Throughout the speeches and chatter, Gor just casually walks with his hands inside his pockets clsoer toward the Knight of Ren. They have a working relationshp with them at the BHG... sort've, an 'understanding' so to speak.

All the same. Nothing about any of this has put a happy expression on Gor's face as he steps up beside Oran. "She's headstrong, but she's only ever meant the best for this galaxy. You might have to call for some reinforcements to take her in though." He advises the Knight of Ren.

Then he speaks out to Leia. "I wish things could be different."

From Gor's right siee he draws a blaster pistol and he aims at Oran's lower back. He pulls the trigger and sends a point-blank stun blast into the Knight's back. Just as quickly the blaster is put back into his pocket.

<"What the HELL ARE YOU DOING, SIR?!">

Sumi seems stunned by the sudden turn of events, but her gauntlet is aimed at Leia still. The bounty is for her, so it's Leia she attempts to apprehend. Sumi raises her gauntlet and initiates the release of the harpoon, but the attack misses and Sumi cuts the cord with the press of a second button. She turns then to face off with her Guildmaster and Leia, defiant until the end to fulfill the contract for the BHG and uphold the peace between the FO and the Guild. <"Do what you will. I did my duty."> Is all Sumi says, her hands up and ready to fight.

Zul Gradnk blinks, looking around, blinking and still hiding behind Tharyn, hand next to her blaster, prepared to run and fire blindly to have some cover

One man down, and now the Guildmaster has apparently thrown in with the mark. It appears now that mass casualties will not be imminent, at least in the moment, and so Tharyn remains stood down. Sumi will likely not be a challenge to these two, now, not between the veteran and the woman who can apparently telekinese solid matter.

Leia opens her hands out self conscious of the allegations that she's heroic in her stance and overt defiance of being apprehended, but her presence is drawing public attention and that likely was her intentions wholesale. She has never faultered her grin, not even a smidge of doubt of her decisions or position despite the numbers stacked against her.

She's playing a hand..

With a nod, she holds her hands out to either side and calls the two halves of the DL-44 back into them, reassembling them with the same practiced ease with which she'd seperated it and holds it in her palm now staring at it with the only hint of emotion aside from self confidence and calm that's been shown since she retracted her hood.

So much like Hans.. Her expression is tight for a moment and then she nods once to Oran.

"You're right. I've no faith in your restraint.. would.." Her expression furrows at Gor, head tilting slightly at something she either sees or senses, and then he's put a blaster bolt into the lower back of a Knight of Ren...

It is an act of great effort to surprise the Princess of Alderaan. She's seen most things people are capable of, but that act of betrayal was startling to say the least. It's clear on her face, blinking rapidly thrice and staring dumb struck for a heart beat that feels like an eternity. "Huh..." That's all she can muster.

The blaster in her hand is gripped tighter when Sumi fires at her again, finding a ghost of fluttering white cloak as she dips to the side. Closer now to Sumi.. She holds the blaster up, points it out, and then lets it turn upon her finger to offer it back to the bounty hunter. "Nothing good comes from the First Order, Hunter. You did right by your honor and you did right by me..." If the weapon isn't taken, she drops it at her feet, "I have to go.. but I wont forget your deference or the respect you showed.." A glance to Gor, dipping her head, she spins on her heels and tosses her hood back up over her chestnut brown hair.

Just as she'd arrived, she departs.. only now, she is hard to keep track of... fading into the background like smeared paint on a canvas as she's blankets herself in the Force to turn eyes away from her passage.

Knights are not generally known to be trusting sorts when someone draws near, but this is different, surely? This is the Guild... the Guild that recognizes the Order as the governing authority at present, the Guild that has brought in several unlucky Jedi, the Guild with whom they've always had a very happy working relationship. Oran certainly notices Gor draw closer to his person, but all of his focus is on /Leia/, and the danger that she presents. "All of us want the best for he galaxy, and we differ quite radically in how we think that ought to be done, that's why there's a war on," Oran does remark dryly and somewhat tiredly.

Then he takes another step forward toward the defiant quarry in an inexplicable place, and --

Didn't see that one coming. Didn't have time to react. Oran has enough time to look surprised before he falls, and if reinforcements /are/ on the way, they'll be much too late to catch Leia Organa.

With his hands inside of his jacket pockets, Gor watches Leia's reaction and then looks to Sumi. "Explanations come later." He tells the Hunter. His left hand comes out and motions to Oran. "Come here and pick him up. His safe is paramount to the capture of that damnable woman." Of course he means Leia, who's already in the process of fleeing. "Capturing her has as much point as trying to grab your own shadow."

Gor steps around Oran's body then and starts to gather then man up. "Come here." He asks of Sumi again. "Help me get him inside. I'll call his people and have them come get him... he's going to be angry when he wakes up." All of this is said with a gruff, arguably angry, voice of his own.

Another glance is given in Leia's direction, possibly to confirm she's making it away from here. 'Damnit, Dailo.' is all that runs through Gor's head though in that moment, and likely the next many moments to come. Children and their heroes.

Sumi's life could have ended the moment Leia stepped in front of her and yet it didn't. Taken by surprise at the agility and tenacity of a human woman her age, Sumi takes a step back when her confidence buckles a bit. All attempts at harming her have been for naught. Instead, Leia offers her blaster back. Was there honor in accepting it?

Sumi takes her weapon back and seats it in its holster. At Leia's departure, the Mandalorian remains standing in her wake, observing her exit with a long sigh.

Gor broke the revelry of defeat, and Sumi turned her head toward her Guildmaster. Silently in compliance, she came to his aid and knelt down to collect her friend Oran. She clips his lightsaber to her belt, brushes her cape to the side, then hoists him up with the efficiency of a soldier who was used to carrying their wounded. Slow is the walk of defeat; her fate and that of the guild suddenly unbalanced. Sumi looked down, passing Tharyn and Zul quietly to disappear inside the Guild hall.
