"Don't ever argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
-- Malaya, on being surrounded by idiots.

On Mai's Future

Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away there was a young woman who had no place to stay; her origins a mystery, and given her history she found her way to Nar Shaddaa.

She saw the bustle of the city to be a bit too gritty; so she chose to be rude and stuck to solitude, though her claim to fame was nada.

You see, the problem with Mai is is that she thinks it better to die rather than conform; though the purpose of those whose company she chose was to mislead and misinform.

She aimlessly drifts through the districts because her personality really restricts the people she meets and greets.

Her credits won't last too long and Mai is too headstrong; she's destined to live on the streets.

Appearance

Malaya has mastered the look of casual coquettishness, and emulates it in her clothes and style. Preferring simplicity over dramatic flair, she wears her long, ash-blone hair loose and unstyled. While at first glance, she may give the impression of carelessness, careful observation reveals that she puts a lot of effort into appearing careless.

Her face has been carefully made-up to look like it has NOT been made-up, the only visible addition being the lining around her grey eyes and the thickness of her lashes.

She is often found wearing loose dresses in pale colors, obviously favoring white, pale red, or blue.

Short in stature and dainty in shape, she might appear to be delicate were it not for the scowl lines etched into her face from recent events. Most of her height consists of legs, her torso unremarkable in comparison to far bustier females.

Origins

No one really knows! One day, she just appeared in Nar Shaddaa, and she hasn't left since. She hasn't done much while she's been there, either. She just spends credits and becomes more and more stressed out. Prying tongues will get the curt answer that she's a refugee and be told to leave her alone.

Personality

As dainty as she looks, Malaya has a spine of steel. Everyone who has had the misfortune to catch the sharp side of Malaya's tongue, (which is nearly everyone so far), has had a sneak preview of the barely-hidden disdain she holds for the local public at large. She has not gone a long way towards ingratiating herself to anyone, and as a result, spends a good deal of time alone in observation of her surroundings.

Her attention to neatness borders on OCD. She has no tolerance for chaos and has taken to obsessively organizing herself and objects within five feet of her in order to make up for the fact that she can't "fix" or control Nar Shaddaa. Strangely, she seems to find the most comfort sitting in the Cantina with the exotic dancers, presuming they dance and don't try to talk with her. She gives a wide berth to those of other species that borders on racism, but seems to stem from fear.

Adept at rubbing people the wrong way, it won't be long before she finds herself in a situation she is unable to handle.

RP Hooks

  • She has subtly been inquiring around Nar Shaddaa for people who specialize in the business of protection. Everyone that has shown any interest so far has been turned down flat.
  • People who have engaged in more than 15 minutes of conversation with her have the pleasure of hearing about how there are no redeemable patrons to be found anywhere.
  • Are you fleeing from something? Malaya thinks she is, too.
  • Are you cultured and clean cut? Malaya would be drawn to you like moth to flame!

History

New to the planet, she has done nothing of note yet.
