Background and History

Designed by Qadira Suuryet for the Waywards based on input from her husband Ax, the Phantom-class Interceptor is a highly customized starfighter. Built by a small firm based out of Soco-Jarel Spaceport, exclusively for the Waywards, the fighter incorporates the latest in cutting edge technology. Production costs are very high and production time for a single fighter is not a quick process, the starfighter is in very short supply.

Armament

Dual heavy lasers are positioned on each of the forward-swept wings as well as a medium ion cannon turret is mounted on the belly, capable of firing 360 degrees from fore to aft with a 20 degree pitch. A six tube multi-warhead launcher is mounted in the belly as well, rotating out of the fuselage when needed and like the turret and dual lasers, tucks into the fuselage when not in use. A sensor and communications jammer is incorporated into the vessel as well. Sensor bafflers on the engines give the fighter a very low energy signature when travelling at speeds under 30 MGLT due to ultra-low ionic emissions, though at speeds greater than 30 MGLT, the offer no added effect.
