Wookiee Ryyk Blade

Ryyk blades are the traditional hand weapons carried by the Wookiees of Kashyyyk. Essentially long machetes, they consist of a sharpened blade with hide-wrapped grip. Specific blade and handgrip designs vary from clan to clan, and each warrior often etches personal markings into his or her blade. Although ryyk blades weigh at least fifteen kilograms, Wookiees can use them to make slashing attacks at blinding speed. Wookiee combat styles traditionally emphasize brute strength over finesse, but warriors wield these weapons with great precision, wasting no strength or motion: They are deadly opponents in combat. It is considered an insult if a Wookiee witnesses anyone not of their species wielding one of these weapons. Its highly recommended a Wookiee not catch a non-Wook with one of these in their hands.
