Background and History

Ship companies born during the age of the Galactic Civil War saw income at staggering levels. They also so those profit margins severely slashed the day that the New Republic decided to cut military spending but tremendous numbers.

Slayn & Korpil thusly decided it was time to jump onto the civilian ship market to try to stay afloat. Much like the Incom Corporation, S&K felt the best way to achieve this company-risking maneuver was to start small. The ultra-Light Freighter market.

Unlikely Incom, however, S&K decided to base their freighter desighter HEAVILY off of their most famous ship, the B-Wing. The 600-B ultra-Light Freighter was the result, aka the 'Broadstar'

With a broad wing design and a rotating cockpit similar to its fighter-counterpart the 'Broadstar' is quickly becoming a favorite for small time freighter companies, as well as pirates... due to its single turret and single missile launcher.

This ultra-Light Freighter borders on the effectiveness of most Starfighters in-use today, there-by giving it a bit of a literal edge on its competitors who generally offer little in the way of weaponry for their designs.
