Qutha gives Lira'una some TK training and invites her to his family's Orchard

OOC Date: May 2, 2023
Location: Tempes
Participants: Lira'una, Qutha Buvu Pah

Lira'una

Lira'una, lavender-skinned Twi'lek with lekky laying outside of her robes, down along her back, and hands poking out of the over-sized sleeves of her shin-length black robe, ambles up from the ramp that leads down to the Force Tree -- the uneti tree. She seems in no particular hurry, and she's tossing a lightsaber training remote up into the air with her right hand, catching it with her left.

It's a simple juggling move, if that's something you've practiced (and she had... for years), but there's something mildly frustrated about her expression. As she walks, she seems to /squint/ at it near the peak of its arc. A little tremor can be felt near her in the Force as she tries to still it, but doesn't quite seem to be able to stop it.

Qutha Buvu Pah

"It has no weight."

He had been wandering into the caverns, for whatever reason, with his vision adjusted and his entire body coiled to spring the moment he passed out of sunlight and into artificial, and potentially suddenly gone, light. Deep breaths had been his watch-words, but distraction can help as well.

"S'th' hardes' lesson I hadta learn, when learnin' how's t'move things."

Qutha is standing still, hands folded into his sleeves and watching the purple skinned twi'lek in her attempts to lift the remote, head tipping to one side and his expression remaining open, "I done smacked m'self in the head o'er an o'er tryin'a lift stuff... n'teachin' m'self it ain't got no weight. Not in Th' Force... Naught has weight there, n'that's one'a the biggest obstacles."

Lira'una

Instead of getting tossed again, the training remote stilled in Lira's hand as soon as she heard the voice. She'd been so focused on her little juggle-telekinesis-practice that she hadn't been paying attention to /who/ was around.. only that she didn't accidentally kill herself or anyone else by walking off of one of the clave's cliffs.

Blue eyes turned to regard Qutha, a deep breath taken in and then blown out softly.

It has no weight.

Lira's purple lips curl in amusement. "How is that possible?" she asks with a little shake of her head. But unable to resist attempting the lesson, she looks back to the training remote in her hand and tosses it into the air.

And it stops. Cold. Its upward momentum is completely arrested, and instead of falling back down, it just hovers there.

Even Lira looks a little surprised by that.

Qutha Buvu Pah

"Anythin's possible, 'specially wit' Th' Force... Th' Force is the only ah-thor-tee in the Gslaxy. N'if Th' Force dictates a boulder ain' weighin' nothin'... then it ain' weighin' a blessed thing." watching the remote where it hovers in stillness. The smile on his features just a little more evident now.

"Th' Force lends us th'bility t'see things as it do. But we's got our lim'tations, 'course... It'd kill even th' mos' powerful've us to do somethin' like push a planet... But they's been folk who've done pushed Victory class star destroyers... N'they says Luke Skywalker's final act was projectin' hisself on Krait to distract the Order'n let the Resistance escape... But that doin' so s'what killed him." a slight saddening to his smile.

"But s'all possible, when Th' Force selects yer for this power'n respons'bility." Qutha nods to himself, still watching the remote.

Lira'una

Lira listens to the words, eyes focused on the remote.

Concentration was still hard for her. /Consistency/ was still hard for her. She could figure something out one second and lose it the next... and that's exactly what happens. The remote wavers as she splits her attention between the droid and the conversation, and eventually it simply falls back to her open hand.

"/Star Destroyers/?....He projected himself from another /system/ ?"

Lira blinks.

"That's..."

A soft sigh escapes her lips.

"That.. puts some things into perspective. It's hard enough for me to keep /this/ thing floating. I can't imagine trying to push something the size of a ship, much less a /Star Destroyer/ ."

Qutha Buvu Pah

"Time, practice, trainin', patience." a small chuckle shaking him, and Qutha's eyes unfocus and the remote lifts up... and then she does, being casually drawn closer, floating just out of arms reach. Speaking the whole time, "Once yer gits t'there, it becomes more'a wun'ner when y'stopped havin' limits."

Qutha's head tips side to side and a small hue of embarrassment to his expression before he sets her and the remote back down, "Sorry, didn' mean t'look I's been a show off... Jus' tryin'a show what I mean." reaching up to rub at the back of his neck. "But's best example I could does, per the circumstances - ifn't that makes sense?" finally managing to bring his gaze back, "Terrible sorry, miss."

Lira'una

Lira smiles gently when the remote lifts from her hand, floating up into the space above it. She was so amused by the sight that she almost didn't realize that SHE was being lifted, too. When she does, she issues a little squeak of surprise! Though the noise isn't at all unpleasant. In fact, it even comes with a pleased little grin and a wiggle of her toes.

All too soon, however, those toes fund purchase again, and the remote lowers back into her hand. There was nothing remotely apology worthy on Lira's face when she watched Qutha, her smile warm and affectionate.

"Now I get why Oh Bother likes it so much," she admits with a little giggle. "It feels kind of... magical. I don't know how else to describe it. It happened so /fast/ on Phylos. I just wish I'd known you back in my circus days. We could have put on quite the act."

She does nod, though, her expression softening. "It does. And you weren't showing off. It's /good/ to see you... do the things I wish I could do. /And/ make it look easy. It's.. encouraging. It makes me want to keep practicing. I /want/ to be that good."

Qutha Buvu Pah

"Well, the goal is t'make y'better'n I am or was..." hands folding back into his sleeves and his mind going somewhere, per one of her comments, "Y'know... back whe y'us was in the circus... I's probably were somewhere on the edge'a the rim... Prob'ly would'a preferred th' circus." those days having been spent most often with blaster fire in the midst of trying to assist those in need.

All the time that lead to him learning the healing powers,

"I won' tell fibs, none... sometimes I think y'us gonna miss the 'regular' life... But at least they's no regrets. Just mem'ries of the Orchard... I should go back come harvest time, sneak 'bout, h'ep the family." brushing his thumb across his nose, Qutha nods to himself, "I think y'd enjoy it... an' havin' some'n who can see in' the dark when dusk is comin', mos' 'ppreciated, reckon."

He motions at last to the remote, "But first, keep rem'memrin'... Has no weight. Even if'n it feel it do, alright?"

Lira'una

Lira'una's lavender cheeks flush a slightly darker purple. If Qutha had learned anything about her, by this point, it was family meant /everything/ to her. She wasn't so hung up on the attachments that she couldn't bare to let them go -- family, in the circus, came and went on a regular basis. Though, she hadn't yet had to deal with the /actual/ loss of any but her sister.

No, it was the connections she valued, however distant. The deep, personal bonds that were formed that went beyond time and space. Two people that /knew/ each other, that trusted each other, that could come back together at any point and be a rock for the other. Someone you could get on the trapeze with, jump, and know they would catch you. Because /that's/ what family was, to her.

"Me?" Her voice is smaller, that blush warming her face. "To your orchard?.. Qutha, I'd love to come help. I.." She laughs softly. "I know /nothing/ about farming. But I'm a fast learner!"

A beat as she looks down at the remote.

"I... thought I was, anyway."

But there's a rueful grin that tugs at her lips when she glances back up.

"I will. No weight."

And then there's a beep of her comlink.

"That's my next class..." She wasn't maybe /normal/ in that was already 18 when she was brought in, instead of being part of some enclave. So there was still quite a bit of remedial stuff she was catching up on between trips to Nar Shaddaa and sessions with Qutha.

She moves forward to give him a quick hug around the middle -- her very own Lira way of saying goodbye -- and then smiles and waves. "I'll find you soon! Maybe I can show off a little for /you/ ." She winks, turning and jogging towards the cave entrance with her robe fluttering.
