The Rebellion takes a dark turn before it has truly behaving

OOC Date: October 6, 2023
Location: Malidris City - Iridonia
Participants: Calia, Bar'Duur, Karlie, Krutur and Karas Darkwing

One of the headquarters in Malidiris had been struck - with such surgical expertise that the five command personnel on duty were gone and the four rooftop guards were dead.

Not a single eyewitness or recording to be had and no one sure of when it had occurred other than between shift changes, after the riots decided to firebomb Stormtroopers who had appeared elsewhere in the city with riot shields to disburse a crowd. The only reason that the Council was made aware was because of an agent inserted with the insurrection that they, the Iridonians, were aware of.

"We need either eyes inside, or a means for another group to get within, the walls of Council Hall in Malidris. The Peacekeepers took over after the Insurrectionists hired Mandalorians and freelancers to hit a peacekeeper HQ for weapons." the faceless voice, distorted by camouflaging equipment briefed, "It was the Sector Governor's Manse during Palpatine's Empire - so it's fortified, but not impregnable. But we need someone who can spy or something other spies can use to get in later... We wish we could offer more, but Iridonia is... dangerous and with how some of theirs are behaving the risk to our agents in the populace is growing even more. We think that The Empress sent Sith, or had Alderaan send House Rist." a house of assassins of ability rivaled by few.

Now they were in sight of a black stone wall that ringed a modest, by Imperial standards, mansion become a military outpost.

Karlie Lifts her hand " i'm not great at fighting .. I'm the techie.. I can unlock stuff.. umm where do you need me ? team one or two? " She asks a bit curious she points to bar " he's the pew pew guy.. I'd rather avoid getting shot please , it hurts "

Bar'duur is silent mostly, thoughtful, he tends to keep an eye on Karlie, just now and then, and has already suggested she keep near him. After Calia and Karlie speak he clears his throat. "I am also good with searching and finding things, but I can fight like a Mandalorian, if that is what you need."

Krutur shrugs shouldering his new Long Gun. "I prefer to ya know shoot and take out the enemy, a straight fight Over the sneakin' around." The large Wookie says as he adjusts his armor and glances to all that are there. "Anyone else like me hmm?"

Karas isn't the ground pounder type nor infiltrator, but he's here. He's been paying attention, watching the patrols and looking for weak spots. Karas glances over to Calia as she speaks but he also is making sure they aren't being observed. "It wold be great if we had one of those seeker droids, we may need to look inot investing in some." he offers. Taking a moment, "Where do you need me?" eh asks. He does look a bit out of his element, most flyboys do when it comes to ground fighting.

Patrols continue to slowly stride on their paths outside the wall, heads turning slowly, watching their immediate vicinity. The rumble and whine of speeders moving down one of the cross streets kicking up air and dust to curl and blow across the open zone that could be called a plaza.

Iridonians are gathering at an open air cafe in view of the Council Hall walls, several of their number looking to a figure who has begun speaking, pointing towards the Peacekeepers and gesturing in broad sweeps of their arms. Several voices are raised, angry, rude dismissive gestures are cast and the speaker seems to grow only more incessant about whatever it is they are speaking of.

The main gate in view of the gathered rebels becomes a hive of activity as a repulsor crawler approaches from the city proper, Imperial forces moving to guard postures with one of their number moving towards the truck with their hand raised, calling for a stop that the vehicle seems to be complying with.

"Yeah.. tell me about it," Calia grunts at Karlie, patting her own leg and wrinkling her nose. "We're going to need you inside when you and I are opening up as many backdoors in their systems as we can. For now, stick with the team that's hanging back. Stay out of sight. Don't get shot. I need you thinking clearly."

She looks at the others in turn... Bar'duur, Krutur, and Karas, listening and nodding. Her gaze lingers on Karas with a grin. "If you can get your hands on one, let me know. I'll try to drum up the credits for it."

Then it was back to business, though. "Bar, you're with me. We're going to the wall to find that hidden entrance. Everyone else, southeast corner. Karas, you're leading that team. A speeder just pulled up to the main gate, so stay where you can see and move on the rear gate if we call you.. but maintain a position you can also see and quickly come back to us if we find the entrance. If we find it, we're all going to have to get in and close it up before that patrol comes back around. Remember, they're on five-minute intervals."

Breath.

"Bar and I will move as soon as the next perimeter patrol is clear. We'll set a timer for three minutes. If we can't find it in that amount of time, we clear out and try something else. If we're about to get caught, we'll create a diversion and hopefully give you three a chance to get in the south gate. Karas, go ahead and move your team into position in case we get caught trying to get across the open space. Updates over comms /regularly/. If you see something, say something. You're our eyes on these patrols while we're searching."

One more look around the group, and then out to the wall, watching the activity and waiting for the next perimeter patrol to pass so she and Bar can start for the wall.

Karlie Nods as she's told and stays back she tries to blend into where ever she is making sure she dosn't give anybody a reason to check where she is and she will wait for a signal.. she checks her gunts before she continues

Bar'duur is wearing his helmet, and his head swivels from one speaker to another, listening to what everyone has to say, before focusing once more on Calia. There is a nod or two as she speaks, confirmations. "Got it." He says, and begins scanning his surroundings, his large and modified pistol held low and at the ready. When Calia starts off, so does he, trying to be stealthy, even with the heavy power armor.

Krutur nods his head trying to remain as quiet as he possibly can. "Alright, I guess it's get into position and wait then." He says looking to Karas he nods. "On your six sir." He says simply as he awaits the move out to get into position.

Karas looks to Calia, "I'm good in the air, not the ground. Poe fussed at me during missions like this." he cringes, but he nods his head. "Alright, let's go." he says as he made sure to look in the direction of the patrols and he qucikly rushes off in the indicated direction, though as he tries to be sneaky, he runs face first into a parked speeder ringing his bell a bit.

A scanner comes out when the driver side windscreen is dropped, a figure shaded in the confines of the vehicle extending an arm with crimson gauntlet and vambrace slotting a code-cylinder to the scanner being held out. The peacekeeper's head nodding as something is said before he steps back and the crawler grumbles with its resumption of movement. Trundling forward slowly while the other peacekeepers move to clear the way.

In the cafe more voices have been raised, shouting each other down. Some figures come nose to nose in the growing hostilities and others begin clearing away from the cafe - moving around figures that are gathering to observe.

The closest patrol slowing to take notice, two looking to one another and a third raising a handset commlink. The dark walls of the makeshift outpost continue to loom, glaring down on the plaza space.

While Karlie, Bar'Duur and Krutur begin making their way for their directed spot, a female iridonian approaches, lifting flimsiplast sheafs "We can't be rid of this oppression by being passive!" one of Karlie's hands is reached for, the horned woman attempting to stuff a pamphlet in her hand, "We can fight back!"

She and others pause to look at Karas when he smashes into the speeder, an action that also draws patrol interest, dividing attention further.

Calia took a breath.

It was only a couple of years ago that she took on this role... leadership. She still wasn't sure she was entirely used to it -- people following her orders, risking their lives on her plans. So, when Karas and team move out, she glances over her shoulder, watching them for just a few seconds... acknowledging to herself that she may have just sent people she knew and cared about into danger, and then letting her gaze drift back to the wall.

There was danger in front of her, too.

But everyone had their orders. The mission was clear. The plan had begin. When chaos began to erupt, she trusted the other team to be able to handle it, and she used that distraction to her advantage.

<< "Move." >>

The single word came over the whisper-mic at her throat, and as soon as it did, Calia moved for the wall, trusting Bar to stick with her along the way.

It's a good thing Bar'duur was off the spice.

It's startling, Calia could be forgiven for thinking she had lost track of Bar, that is if she had been listening for him. The powere armored Zabrak is on his home planet, and that is an easy enough explaination for him to move like he were here twenty years ago, hunting.

Karlie Gives a bright zeltron smile.. along with a nice dose of zeltron. Go away, pheromones as she takes the pamflet says " Thank you. " That's it she keeps moving .. She doesn't give eye contact if you interact with these things, they are on you like a mynock on a battery!

Krutur takes off right behind Karas, watching him run head long into that parked speeder gets the large Wookie chuckling. "You OK boss?" He asks keeping his long gun held over his shoulder. Than he takes off and finds a nice shadowy corner to hide in raising his rifle to proper firing position as he looks down the barrel and through the scope. <Sergeant Krutur in position.> Krutur says over the coms.

"Kriffing hell....." he holds his face, luckly he didn't break anything, "SOrry, wasn't looking where I was kriffing going." he mumbles to himself as he starts to walk away knowing he just alerted the troopers to him possibly. THough this should help with Calia and Bar getting into position. The dark skinned fighter jock, who's now the parked speeder smacky guy now continues down the street.

"Free Iridonia!" called out when the pamphlet is taken, a call taken up by some of those at the cafe where the tensions are continuing to strain closer and closer. Shoving breaks out and several rush to intervene, pulling figures apart as yelling intensifies and one of the patrol raises a comm to speak again.

Past the patrol for the moment, close to the wall, Calia and Bar'Duur find themselves faced with black stone. Crafted to appear like a singular sheet of impenetrable rock. And while the stone hails from some distant world, of a form of igneous rock that developed mineral compounds that make it appear to absorb light... It's certainly not one single slab.

A young zabrak wearing robes and bearing holy symbols hanging from neck and wrist, "My son! You wander in darkness a darkness that grows with a hate glaring like a crimson sun!" hands raise for Karas's face, trying to check his injury. People turn towards the hubbub caused, facing away from Krutur, granting him the moment needed to disappear into the shadows - a homeless figure walking right past the giant walking carpet as they leave an alley.

Bar'Duur and Calia a second after find a seem in the stone. Nothing door shaped. But it's a break in the impossibly perfect and otherwise solid facade. And it's something that can be followed.

Single-minded, Calia moves to the wall, taking just a moment to glance over her shoulder because... honestly? Where the hell was the Zabrak? She told him to move, but she didn't /hear/ anyth--

Oh, God, he's literally /right/ behind her. All Six-Two of power armored awesomeness is RIGHT on her heels, keeping up just as quietly as she's managing in what is essentially a suit designed entirely for being as quiet as possible.

Maybe she still had a thing or two to learn after 59 years of existence.

Once she's confirmed that Bar's with her, she gestures to her eyes and then the wall, moving to start the search and, along with Bar, finding a seam that stands out up close-- a seam you couldn't see unless you were brave enough to approach the monolithic tower of marble. And who would be crazy enough to do that except THE OUTRIDERS?!

<< "We've got a horizontal seam. Bar move right. I'll move left." >>

It's just an update over her whisper-mic to the team for comms, a quick direction to Bar, and then she's doing what she said she was going to do.. following the seam closer to the gate.. closer to the guards. She'd sent the big Zabrak in the powersuit the opposite direction.

<< "Nothing yet, but we could fit det-cord in certain spots here. Marking coordinates. Bar?" >>

She taps a button on her wrist-com, but she's not giving up on the search, yet.

OIIOOIIOOIIOOIOIIOOIIOOIIOOIOIIOOIIOOIIOOIOIIOOIIOOIIOOIOIIOOI Bar'duur turns is right behind Calia looking about, slowing as they get to the wall and she speaks, he continues trying to remain in the shadows and looking about, before his attention returns to Calia.

A simple, brisk nod is offered the command, and he begins to make his way, slowly, away from the gate along the wall, scanning about a foot at a time for anything specific, until he finally halts, leaning closer, reaching out to drag his gloved finger along this and that, before he finally turns and sets his back against the wall, before activating his coms, speaking in a low tone.

"I've got what looks like a hidden door, with a card reader, and a code cylinder port, if anyone has the equipment to hack them, Karlie, probably."

Karlie can't hide.. she's never really had to hide , i mean other than sneaking up on her kids or something like that. she's a black finger .. a techie she dosn't hide or go stealthy or something like that.. but your surprised what you cand o when your scared out of your wits.. so she quickly does the most obvious running.. sneaking and rolling all look so stupid but somehow it works for her to get over to where Bar is.

Krutur stays in his corner and tries to remain in the dark and the shadows. Long gun held up and still keeping it sighted he keeps himself focuses and breathes deeply and evenly. Smiling Krutur awaits orders, resisting his own instincts and urges to charge in.

Karlie's passage is a near thing at best. The patrol past the midway point with its rearguard member turning to walk backwards, the rotation of their body just behind the zeltron who slips just past sight and scantily avoiding the notice of the guards as the continue further. Another patrol rounding the corner of the wall and starting to near.

"FREE IRIDONIA!" is shouted at the cafe and a punch is thrown. The crowds roar at one another and as one fall another leaps at their aggressor. From the gates more Peacekeepers begin to appear, watching the growing altercation across the way. Several seeming to be given orders by the commander of the watch.

More people turn in the plaza, more make to slink away as quickly as they can.

The Walls remain a black cloud with three figures huddling near it.

<< "I've got tools. Mark GPS coordinates and sync. I'm on my way." >>

It's Calia's voice through the whisper-mic. Everything they were doing was being recorded for posterity -- Calia's weak point in the wall, Bar's secret entrance. It was all being sync'd over the comm signal so that they (or others) could access the data later.

She wasn't too far from Bar, and she was instantly on the move back to him, sticking close to the wall in her 'Spook Suit.'

She's almost there when she spots Karlie doing... Karlie things -- like running across an open field that was very potentially being monitored by guards without ANY sort of orders.

Calia's eyes narrow.

"What the hell was /that/?" she hisses. "You could have blown this /entire/... Whatever, we don't have time for lectures right now. Do your thing. See if you can get this door open. I'll cover you."

And she does... keeping an eye out, using the design of her suit, careful not to let Karlie's actions draw any extra attention.

Bar'duur remains as still and hidden as he can, just another rock in the darkness, yup. He barely moves in fact, trying to prevent any stray glints of light or anything cooky like that. But he does turn his head a bit to watch as Calia, then Karlie appear moving right up to him. There is a touch of amusement in the coms, which he uses to better speak in a low volume. "Wow you're getting better at that."

Karlie Gives bar a wink " kids helped " she says in a low voice " Channel the womp rat they call it " She says even as she quickly plugs in with her pad and her fingers start to fly.. Typing away at high speeds.. even yanking out a set of plyers and pulling out various wires to connect them tot he pad " I'm in " She says as she works the system.

Krutur leans back into the shadows he sighs softly. Keeping his gun poised and at the ready, breathing remaining steady as he looks to the walls and gates. <Ready when you all are.> He whispers into the construction.

The voices at the cafe rise and rise, shouting going back and forth between the groups. The anger practically tangible as the arguments intensify to the point that shouted words become intelligible.

"YOU PEOPLE ARE TEARING THE CITY APART!"

"WE HAVE PEACE!"

"WE HAVE OPPRESSION!"

"MY HOME IS BURNED RUINS!"

More and more continue to flee the immediate area, but now some are rushing in, joining those pushing between figures close to clawing one another's throats out, proverbially. Cooler heads trying to extinguish the sparks before they catch and things rage out of control.

A quartet of Peacekeepers step forward from the gate, leaving six in place. Crossing to the midway point in the plaza, watching, waiting. Several of those at the cafe turning towards them to raise fists and shout - before being called at by others chastising the action.

One patrol disappears around a corner and the other starts to near, closing in on the position of the trio at the control panel and the danger of being spotted waxes anew.

<< "Team two, we have the door.. it looks like we're almost in. Make a distraction to draw attention away from this area, then advance and HOLD until the door is open. Once the door is open, make for it. Use the distraction you created to cover crossing the gap." >>

Those are Calia's newest orders over her whisper-mic, still queued up behind Karlie to provide her cover from prying eyes.

Bar'duur moves to stand up a bit more upright but remains pressed against the wall, he turns his head to look about a bit once more, to make sure they aren't about to be snuck up on, or anything, but keeps his blaster pointed to the side and doward in a less threatening manner.

Karlie looks over " open the door or leave a back door for later? " she asks looking towards the commander as she speaks on the com in a low voice her finger hovering over the choices as she waits

Krutur getting impatient Krutur decided its time to take action. He lines up his long gun breathing deeply and easily. He sights his shot and squeezes the trigger firing into the crowd, intent on causing a distraction, making the mob of protestors think the guards fired the shot. His shot hitting its mark, the back of a chair, it sends a 12 year old Iridonian boy flying over across their table bruising and winding the boy but causing no real damage.

Hearing that they need people off them through the comms, Karas is about to shout or do something until Krutur helps him and provides an excuse, "AHHHHHHH HE'S SHOOTING, HE'S SHOOTING!!!!!!" he runs away though weaving through speeders heading to move inot a position to help Calia and making sure his team is covered.

"T'obe!" an Iridonian man's voice rises with the standing of a top-knotted figure who is scrabbling to get to the boy who is laying on the ground, clothing smoking from the heat of the weapon that has left the chairback of the cafe seat glowing like the end of a camp fire. Skin an angry color and too shocked to cry out.

A child curled on the ground, convulsing as their body wants to cry, to sob, but the pain is keeping their silenced.

Another voice shrieking about shooting draw more eyes to the scene and the figures fighting to clear space while others try to get a better look. They know it's terrible... but some cannot help but try to look.

More turn towards the four peacekeepers who are looking to one another, trying to see who took the shot. Guards at the gate are shouting and pointing. Rifles are being raised, trying to find the source of the shot. Comms are shouted into - the patrol that had just rounded a corner coming back. The quintet about to pass before Calia, Bar'Duur and Karlie turning and rushing towards the altercation.

"FREE IRIDONIA!"

The crowd, maybe two dozen strong, surges. From other buildings, further over on streets in view - more are joining.

A single blaster report draws Calia's gaze up from Karlie momentarily, if just to ensure that it wasn't being fired AT them. But it wasn't. It was something to do with the crowd. She couldn't see clearly through the chaos from her angle. All she could see was the situation getting worse, the distraction drawing the attention of more of the guards...

<< "Good work, if the was one of mine." >>

Finally, Karlie's question really registers. She glances back at the mob forming and then back at her. "Get it open."

<< "Opening the door now. As soon as you have cover, make for the door. We'll wait for you inside." >>

And with that, she gives a final nod and glances up at Bar.

"You're on point, Bar. Karlie, you're behind me. We go as soon as she gets it open. Only move in far enough for them to form up."

She slips her blaster out of its holster, finally, and switches it to kill, preparing for the fight ahead.

Bar'duur is just waiting for commands at this point, watching backs, but then a commotion causes him to look in that direction, before he's turning, giving a simple nod to Calia. "You got it." he responds turning and stepping inside, and moving along it, scanning as he goes, looking for any signs of alarms or traps.

Karlie Opens the door of course clicking the button.. grabs her gear and follows the leader into the palce but also waits for larger more powerful fighter types to go inside first.

Krutur smiles to himself as he shoulders that long gun making sure to keep in the shadows long enough after his shot. Once he thinks the coast is clear the wookie will take off after Karas.

With a single shot having been fired, hearing Calia, Karas looks to his team and nods as he hears Calia's voice in their comms. <<Copy that, on our way!>> he calls out and looks to his team or well Krutur and he begins running, towards teh team and using the crowd to blend in.
