Dug In: Finale

OOC Date: June 1, 2020
Location: Chandrila
Participants: Jax Greystorm, Sesti Greystorm, Sajin, Lokir, Merek, Hadrix Kora, Septima Carnine

Bob the Stormtrooper had been an oddity, the man had made a deal to lead the group out to where the second group was dug in at and they were not aware of the treachery that was coming. Which is probably good, because that means the demolitions were probably not set up given things.

Or were they?

Mekil, Septima's bodyguard has come with the group to provide an extra hand in combat and if they need assistance with taking anyone else in. Bob is up in the front near whoever is handling him for this adventure.

The area that the second group of stormtroopers had been hiding at is out near Sarini island, a beautiful place really that hasn't seen a lot of tourists since things with the First Order happened. Now it's time to evict the left overs from the group.

"Hey, you... King of Drik... We need your help." Is what Sajin had been told when he sudenly found himself following around Mekil and others who are assisting in taking out this Cadre of Stormtroopers. "What are we doing? How many are there..." He's starting to pull the Vibroblade from his back.

Lokir tiptoes carefully through the nearby brush, elegant Theed S5 held out at the ready. <Spike here. No contacts yet. Eyes wide for traps.> Wearing his distinctive horned composite armor in fashion black, Lokir takes panes to use his cloak and instinct to stay out if sight and spot ways to leverage the element if surprise--taking out explosive and flammable targets, or attacking from unexpected angles--while also not stepping on any innocent tripwires or. proximity mines.

Jax was here and he'd road the transport quietly. His eyes mostly closed as he acted like he was barely paying attention to what was going on. The man though the man rised and stretched. Then shrugs on his bantha hide jacket. This one was new and had no holes or burns in yet. He rolls his shoulders and starts to follow people down the path, "Can we try talking them down? It would be best for all if they just surrendered."

The Wind in The Void, or Woor'Tra, was above with ships crew aiding R2-HU in the operation of the craft while Hadrix finished his equipment prep. <<"Hadrix, in position - engaging insertion drop on target zone.">> The mandalorian's voice coming over comms as Gripper socketed herself into her place on his back, attached to his jetpack.

Because he can.

There's no immediate signs that anything is out of place in this area, the smell of the water that's so nearby is a delightful presence though to some. There's sand that's mixed into the dirt around them. The group...or most of them do their sneaking thing. Mekil doesn't seem like he's great at it, but, we've seen worse from people. But Hadrix's entry into the area does draw out a person that's not in stormtrooper gear, but regular void armor.

Sajin starts to slow his approach, his heels digging into the ground before he presses forwards on his toes. Hey, he was getting better at the sneaking thing! Who would have thought. The King of Drik readies his blade, whispering; <<"Can give it a try... I don't feel like getting a blaster bolt in me today. I just had lunch, you know... it was a big lunch... a greasy lunch.">> As the person in void armor comes out, Sajin points them out, <<"Contact...">>

Another quite rider was sitting next to Jax. "I would like to try and talk to them, first. Out of range," she adds with a little half smile. "Extend the peace arm of the Senate and offer them transport off planet. It is worth a try." She raises one shoulder, and then stretches to disembark.

Merek does come to assist, having come from the work in another sector before he visits with the team that is coming to take on what of the First Order will keep to their mission. He isn't here as a full soldier, instead to assist, his void armor on with the shadowsilk attire, and white plating upon it trimmed in silver. He does take up the F-11D which he keeps with him. Then he looks to people with a nod, "I would like to provide a bit of assistance, tell me where you need me."

Lokir pads silently into the camp, easily breaching the loosely guarded perimeter. Beneath his horned helm, his polite teeth suddenly peel back into his gums. Danger in the air. Smell of--explosive compound. <Got two live explosives, 100 feet east of position. Moving to disable>.

Quickly and quietly covering the 30 yard distance, Lokir encounters a familiar sight--EXP B-00M Seiner Sentry Anti-Personnel Proximity Mine Controllers. Easily the type of surprise to ruin an ambusher's day--but also easily disables. A few quick switches and cable twists, and the op is back in business. <Clear.>

"THen stay out of sight and shoot them if they make a move." Jax says with a grin at Sajin, "That way, you may miss out of the action but no new scars. You're Queen would probably be happy to hear you didn't get hurt for once." Then Jax moves out of the cover to provide support for Sesti as she tries to do the talking. His eyes scanning for anyone aiming at him or her. His hand ready to quick draw his saber.

Five hundred meters. At this speed if he hit anything other than soft earth they'll be sponging him up. Liquified organs and powdered bones to make a beast of a sludgy mess.

Four hundred meters. They're going in on diplomatic options? Diplomacy. Ridiculous. He hasn't been in a fight in weeks.

Three hundred - No weaponsfire. It's going to be a quiet night. For certain.

One hundred fifty - Hadrix twists mid-air to angle his feet for the ground, thrusters firing in pulses to slow his fall so that when he drops the last five meters he only lands with a heavy thud and a blast of smoke from jets kicking up dirt and dust as he lands. Rising to full height with bowcaster raised. Nothing said. Let the others talk while the T-visor of Hadrix's helmet turns slowly from person to person.

Putting in an ear piece as she walks towards the place, and the person in void armor, Sesti gives a slight nod as she hears Lokir's clear, glancing briefly sideways towards Jax. She doesn't push up next to him, letting him take a slightly forward protective stance of her. She shifts her new, purple, cane to her left hand and raises her right palm up and out to the person in void armor. "Good day!" she calls. "We have come to offer those inside a peaceful exit from Chandrila. Could you please let them know that a Representative from the Senate has arrived to negotiate with them?" Once she has finished speaking, she plants her cane into the ground, then stacks her palms on top of each other, apparently at leisure as she waits for a response.

The man in the Void Armor gives a look up to the Mandalorian that's coming in hot and there's a soft sigh through the vocoder on the helmet, "Oh. I bet that's the one we heard about." they state. Hands come up to show that he's unarmed, "You're hear from the Senate?" he asks. There seemed to be a lot of folks that were behind them. "You...please stay there. I'll get the Captain and see if he'll come talk. I don't want to be shot and I don't think he does either." he admits.

Then he's disappearing back into the copse of trees that he'd came from and a few minutes later, it might seem like longer, he returns with a Captain in black armor. "I'm Captain Gerrick. How can I be of assistance, ma'am?" he asks Sesti.

There is a moment of ponderounce from the Hapan before he moves out of cover himself. "Nah, that's too boring." He places his blade across his shoulder in a more non violent manner but allowing it to be quickly recovered for an attack if needed. This happens just as Hadrix comes in for a landing. <<"Hey there, Captain. Listen I think we can come to a nice understanding here. We'll get you all off world and back to what ever world you choose. We even came with a rep to prove our willingness. How's that sound, yeah?">> He points towards Sesti to indicate her as the representative.

Lokir perches happily amongst his "kills" of disabled mines--until a faint, but distinct beeping interrupts his self-satisfied triumph. His eyes follow the ominous sound...to a lightly concealed tarp fifty feet north of his position. <Spike Moving--potential add explosives. North 15 Y.>

Slinking into the concealed hideaway, Lokir finds another set of presents---EXP B1AMs--the First Order's improved version of the nasty bouncing mines. Lokir cracks the first case open and quickly disables the failsafe. The second requires a bit more thought--the wires inside aren't color coded. A quick sniff at the soldering points...and Lokir rolls the dice, snipping at random. It works--barely. <Two more mine controllers down. They really have this place wired to blow--stay frosty.>

"And you don't have to return to the First Order. If you want to go somewhere else or even see about becoming citizens of the New Republic. The fights over and it's time start over and move to the next thing. Turn the vibroblade into a vibroplow and that type of thing." Jax says easy enough.

Through all of this Hadrix seeks out his wish to work out aggression. It's not coming. So he does what he does second best. A predatory growl escapes his vocoder and his grip tightens on his caster.

Sesti nods once to the first person, and as she waits, she tilts her head slightly sideways in contemplation. As the Captain comes out, she stands more at attention, although her palms remain atop her cane. "Greetings Captain Gerrick," she nods to the man. She waits as Sajin puts in his say, and there is a tiny flicker of her eyes to Jax when he speaks. She inhales deeply then exhales, inaudibly, but for the purpose of giving her a moment before she speaks. "I am Dr. Sesti Greystorm, a Representative in the new Senate. We are not looking for harm or retribution for you or your squad. We would prefer to come to a peaceful solution, one that does not involve firing of blasters or explosions of perimeter mines." One hand lifts to indicate Sajin and Jax. "As has been stated, we are willing to escort you off planet, to a neutral planet of your desiring. From there you can choose to either contact the First Order to rejoin, or you can go your own way. I do not believe we can offer you transportation to a First Order planet, as that would put any pilot that flew you in jeopardy, I am sure you can understand that." Hand returning to the cane she gives a nod. "I am ready to hear your terms of what you request from us, and I will be happy to work towards a solution that we can both agree upon."

Merek of course would take the time to look for anything of note, then he does find a few mines, while he takes the time to follow up with the team, noting with messages that location for any of those disabling them while he keeps that rifle which is adjusted about a sling to his elbow.

Gerrick gives a look to each of the people there. Even the Mandalorian that's growling at them. He listens to Sesti, not interrupting her, "Thank you, Doctor Greystorm." he dips his head to her. He has a quiet moment of talk between himself and the other two that are with him. They move off to help Lokir with the disabling of the mines so that people can walk through safely. Gerrick looks back to the others, "All that we ask is that transportation is provided off planet and we won't return to Chandrila. We have no desire to return to the organization that abandoned us either. I think that the men need to have some form of freedom." he states. "Apologies on all of the mines, we...are taught to secure a perimeter fairly well." he muses. "We had no plans of attacking the Senate or any of the Representatives. I don't know what the other team was doing." he admits.

Sajin gives a few nods and looks to Sesti and Jax. <<"Looks like I don't have to puke today.">> A thumbs up is given before the King of Drik steps towards Hadrix and gives him a pat on the shoulder. <<"Easy Big Guy.">> Then a turn towards all gatheres, "I can take them on the Driish Encouragment to wherever they want. Jus a comm call away..." Then to the Captain directly, <<"I am the King of Drik... if you need a place, Drik is the place. I also command the planet's forces and if you're looking for a job, I am offering.">>

Lokir can't help but growl in frustration as yet more mines are announced. Finding is way into a bunker, Lokir stops dead. Rows and rows of cheerfully blinking red lights...the Devaronian partisan glances down at his dinky wirecutters with resignation.

Thankfully, the calvary soon arrive. The former stormtroopers are happy to provide actual deactivation codes--few of which are suitable for a senator's ears. "Hope you guys brought a map--didn't you have any other hobbies?" A quick comm to the team <Watch your step folks--this island is mostly made of mines, with a side helping of sand.>

Jax gives Sajin an abashed look, "I'm sure we'll be fighting pirates soon enough. Though I think we can call this a win for everyone." He offers his hand to the Major. Then he lets out a sigh. " Why is it always explosives?" THen he looks to Bob, "Yeah I thought that was odd." He doesn't help with the mines that isn't work that he can do and survive.

Though when things were over he would rest his hand in Sesti's hand and whisper somehting.

Sajin's pat on his shoulder draws Hadrix's attention, visor turning slightly while the Masssive Mandalorian responds only with another low rumble. Shoot the captain as an example? Don't shoot.

It's Chandrila, they're try to arrest him. Then he'd either get shot to shavit while putting a good number in the hospital. Or he would put a good number in the hospital as he escaped.

This. Is. The. Worst.

Before Sesti can speak, Sajin makes his offer, and she manages to keep her expression mostly straight. "We can just say that the other team attempted to finish their objective, in a manner of speaking. As our illustrious companion, the King of Driik, has offered you sanctuary on his world, and a ride there, I will step back and let the two of you discuss the details." She nods her head, but keeps herself, and her baby, well away from the mines served up with a side of sand. She likes her sand straight up. At Jax's whisper, she has an even more difficult time not smiling and wrecking her dignified Senate demeanor.

Mekil gives a look to Hadrix and then Sajin, "Your Majesty, thank you for the generous offer." he tells him. "I would however just like to keep track of them, in case anyone gets all trigger happy with the Senators and Representatives again, we can rule them out first." he nods.

Gerrick gives a nod to Sajin, "Your Majesty, we might take refuge on Drik for a few weeks while they figure out where they want to go with things." he nods to that. "We will go with whoever is escorting us peacefully and without incident." he tells them with a polite nod of his head.

Sajin nods to the group of STormtroopers, <<"I will call my freighter.">> He steps asside to get his XO on the line to come and pick him and the Troopers up.
