RP Rating and Summary

RP RATING: R (Violence, Language)

Local law enforcement has called in the help of bounty hunters to free a small town in the Doaba Badlands of a gang of criminals holding them hostage. While the criminals are certainly worth more to law enforcement alive than dead, things get a little heated for the bounty hunters in a dust-up in Doaba turned DEADLY!

Scene Log

[ Fae Renta (Fae) ]

You've heard this story a hundred times.

A small town overrun. Local law enforcement overwhelmed. It's good people in a bad situation, and bad people happy to exploit it. Six speeders roll across the foreboding expanse of the Doaba Badlands, leaving trails of dust in their wake as if they were on open water instead of sand. Why each of them are here individually is unique to them entirely, though the lure of credit is a potent tie that often binds.

It's a long ride from the city to the small little hamlet that's been overrun, but it's one held in good company. Eventually, however, every journey reaches an end point. Six speeders streak across the foreboding expanse of the Doaba Badlands. Six speeders kick their afterbrakes into full burn. Six speeders roll into town, where they're greeted by six spacers who don't look so keen on meeting them.

You've heard this story a hundred times. But this time, you get to tell it.

-=-=-=-=-=-

"That's plenty far, strangers," the man in the middle says. He's a rough sort, a cigarra tucked into his teeth and a single metallic eye that stares off over the slowly-setting sun on the horizon behind them. It looks at all of them at once and, somehow, none of them at once. A whirr of mechanical and a hiss of hydraulics sees those optics whirr and twang as it scans each of the bounty hunters that approach him.

[ Teela Kloo (tk) ]

One of the six riders pulls her speeder to a stop and swings down off the side.. Her dusty brown armor isn't bulky or imposing. She's not wearing a blaster rifle or cannon on her back, but two blaster pistols. One of them on her right hip, one in a cross-draw holster on her lower abdomen. As she approaches the light catches off the reflective glass of her T-Visor, the only thing with any reflective surface at all. She tosses the long poncho she's wearing, connected at her neck, over her shoulder to reveal the breast plate beneath.

Fingers wiggle near her blaster pistol on her hip.

She squars off on the one who steps forward, staring him in his metallic eye. <"Going to be a put up or shut up situation, friend.">

[ Amal Jha (Amal) ]

Amal Jha was not a bounty hunter by profession, though she was one by association. She accepted contracts when the credits were good, and declined them when it was not. She had offered a nod to those she knew, as their had crossed the badlands, the white on white echani woman standing out like a spotlight against the back drop of the desert's black sands. The sight of the welcoming committee did not stop her approach, though it made her strategically cautious, as she brought the speeder to a halt. "You neither look like law enforcement or locals."

[ Hahtavi Kora (Haht) ]

Dismounting, One of the newly arrived bounty hunters is a Mandalorian wearing heavy black battle armor. Helmeted, his T-visor turns in the direction of the six supposed baddass bruisers who are reputedly terrorizing this town. Hahtavi draws what looks like a riot baton and his helmet's vocoder kicks on.

<"Somebody said trash needs taking out. We're here to collect it, boys."> Like some kind of B or even C grade space western without cowboy hats, Hahtavi Kora flicks the switch on his baton to electrify it with a crackle.

<"How many of you are there and who wants to play first?"> Just to get things started off, this Mandalorian fires off his jetpack and starts up into the sky ... is he heading for a rooftop along the street or moving to close the distance?

[ Lofty (L) ]

Lofty isn't a bounty hunter or a Mandalorian. But he is a large white Talz who fights for the little guy. He putters in on his speeder and kicks out the hoverstand, dismounting. In one paw is a slaver's ion whip and in the other is a blowgun - a weapon of his native peoples.

[ Hahtavi Kora (Haht) ]

(repose for those who don't speak Mando'a)

[ Aejin (AJ) ]

<<"I should have brought a tank,">> Aejin can be heard muttering within the helmets of relevant parties. While some among the contingent of bounty hunters and little-guy-defenders dismount hastily and begin preparing themselves for a fight, Aejin's a little more casual about it all. He slides from his own spot on one of the speeders without much haste. While this particular Mandalorian in the gold-and-blood painted armor seems armed for less-than-lethal tactics, it would appear that he's still carrying plenty to make him a definitely-lethal variant should the need arise. He shakes out his left arm, a pair of soft clicks heard as a number of miniature rockets arm themselves and his visor shifts to regard the welcoming party. He does not spea threat nor attempt to offer incentive to surrender. It seems he's simply allowing his arsenal to speak for itself at this particular moment and potential opposition's sense of self-preservation to act as a guiding light.

[ Kael Greystorm (Kent) ]

Kael pulls up on his speeder bike as he approaches the town with the rest of the hunters pulling the bike off to the side he dismounts looking over at the man in the middle when he speaks up and the Greystorm chuckles a bit, "You got a bit of a whirr in that eye there bud. May want to get a real cyber surgeon to take a look at it." A pause as his thumbs hook onto his belt, "But as the others said there's two ways this can go down. First one you're not going to like. You.." He motions towards the man's group, "Put up a fight forcing us..." He motions towards the group that just pulled up, "to eliminate the threat..." A pause, "Second one I think you'll like better. Surrender and you won't be harmed... Much."

[ Fae Renta (Fae) ]

The six members of the welcoming committee tip their heads as they're approached by the seven bounty hunters. One on the far left spits out a wad of something black and venomous looking. It sizzles into the sand, bubbling and smoking a noxious scent. "I don't think you understand this here gravity of your situation, darlin'," she says to Teela, an amused smile on her face. She gestures towards the various buildings that surround either side of them and, indeed, within them there appears to be a number of reinforcements peering out and ready to engage. "There are dozens of us on all sides. You'd have to be stupid or suicidal to pick a fight," she says. And then her eyes fall onto Aejin and his veritable arsenal of weaponry on his back. Her lips purse and she spits again. More black tar sizzling on sand.

Another member of the welcoming committee chimes in as he turns to look at Amal, laughing a little in the Echani's face at her comment. "Yeah, no shavi--" he begins to say, but then Hahtavi is rocketing up and into the air. The six members of the welcoming committee draw their weapons in unison and aim them all around. It seems talking is not on the menu.

"REKKING HELL, HE'S FLYING! Light 'em up, boys!"

Blaster fire erupts, kicking up dust and filling the air with the stench of ozone. Fae Renta doesn't even have her helmet on when Hahtavi leaps forward into the fray. The Hapan makes an exasperated sigh and unclips her helmet from her hip. She levels her E11 at one of the scrambling members of the welcoming committee and squeezes the trigger. The stun bolt rips into her armor and drops her to her knees with a satisfying 'zzzzzzrrrttt'. Fae swivels that E-11 towards another, but the shot flies wide and high! Those within the buildings scramble to engage, but they didn't expect such a sudden conflict!

[ Teela Kloo (tk) ]

Teela turns her visor towards the lady who steps forward, <"I understand the gravitas of the situation just fine. We brought six very heavily armored individuals to face down a bunch of thugs hassling towns-folk. If I were... you..."> She turns and runs... The mandalorian inclines her head to the fleeing woman's back. <"I did not expect that.">

There's plenty left to start shooting though.

Blaster fire errupts out from the welcoming committee and Teela's hand brushes over her blaster, drawing down and striffing to make room for some of the more agile fist fighters to close distance. She sets off two blue bolts from her heavy blaster pistol, but only one scores a mark. Hitting one of the thugs in the shoulder, sending him stumbling back some, but not quite taking him to the ground and sleep land.

<<"Someone lay down some fire on those buildings. Keep them pinned down while we mop these doy'gr boycr up..">>

[ Amal Jha (Amal) ]

Amal, who had slipped down from her speeder, tilted her head, just slightly, as she moved to approach the spacer thugs. She moved with that odd gracefulness that seemed as deeply embedded in her kith and kin as breathing. She drew no weapon, nor amde any move to dive for cover, as the would be enemy began to open fire. She only stepped to the side to avoid one of the blaster bolts that came her way, moving in to close distance. When one of the thugs staggered back from a blaster shot, Amal's fists came up, delivering a right and then a quick jab of her left to put them down.

[ Hahtavi Kora (Haht) ]

Up, up, and away! But not very far away. Fae Fae being caught without her helmet on when she knew she was coming to a fight. Tsk. Hahtavi was ready to dance. He comes down on the far side of those that haven't wet themselves and made a run for it.

Riot baton crackling, he whacks one of the welcoming committee just as that one jerks around to face him. POW! Just like some comic book. The follow up misses but the Mandalorian just keeps coming even as the thug tries to back up out of reach. The third swing clips them most soundly making an audible crack as baton strikes jaw with almost a bug zapper sizzle.

Down like a bag of dead meat to eat dust.

The Kora's ready for another one but they are dropping like flies. So Hahtavi turns his helmet towards the buildings around them, marking hostile looking targets in his helmet's tracking system and sharing them through his linked Coms with Fae and Aejin - and anyone else who wanted to link coms with them before this all started.

[ Lofty (L) ]

Lofty the Talz is like a big white furball that stands out starkly against the desert landscape. He thrashes his 12-foot-long stun whip on one of the gunmen, causing it to crackle with electricity! The second WHIPSHAW is heard as the tip of the whip snaps into the desert ground, sending up a spume of black sand along with its distinctive sonic boom. WCHAK!

[ Aejin (AJ) ]

The fighting erupts and a pair of blaster bolts slash the air around Aejin. Who answers in turn by swinging his stun net launcher into the readied position. He depresses the trigger and with a loud bang the net hurtles forth. Wrapping its would-be victim in its netty embrace, Aejin's thumb promptly depresses the trigger that sends a jolt of energy through the net itself. When the recently en-netted crumples to the ground in a heap, Aejin's helmet shifts its reflective red-tinged visor in the direction of Hahtavi Kora's recent target marking. It is in answer to these targets that a call is given within the shared comm frequency, <<"Suppress those targets,">> he declares before concluding, <<"if they become too much then I will be dropping something heavy on them.">>

That seems all the warning that Aejin seems prepared to give on the fate of would-be reinforcements, should they prove far more difficult to handle. A crank of the rifle within his hands readies the net launcher of another shot, though for the moment Aejin simply seems to be taking in the unfolding battlefield as though he's the detached hunter and this his safari.

[ Fae Renta (Fae) ]

The initial six members of the welcoming committee scramble in fear at the sight of Aejin's impressive arsenal. Three of the members manage to squeeze frantic shots towards the group of bounty hunters, but all of their shots miss high and wide. One by one, they're dropped until all but two remain... well. Two and a half. The halfsie is a trandoshan with a peg leg that's looking a little worse for wear as she hobbles back towards the town's saloon.

Oh yes. There's a saloon.

"HHhHHSHHSHhhsSSSAAA! KILL THEM!" the trandoshan yells, and the sound of broken glass and blaster fire erupts as windows are punched out and blasters shoot from the second story of nearby windows. More members of the gang pour out from those saloon double doors and level their weapons at the bounty hunters, ready to fire. In the center of town, the bounty hunters will be caught out in the open if they choose to stand and attack. However, towards the center of town are a few large speeder trucks that are arranged in a way that could provide some cover from the oppressive fire about to rain down on the would be heroes of this no-name town.

"Round up the huttsuckers who live here!" the man with the mechanical eye growls as he storms through the saloon. For now, the bulk of that fire seems to becoming from that direction, though a few more gang members make a break for the building at the far end of the road at the center of town upon hearing his order.

"We've got to get to cover!" Fae shouts, and rolls towards those trucks. She attempts to sprint for the nearest, but on the way, her foot catches a cursed misshapen dune of sand and she trips. She's able to scramble behind cover, but doesn't have time to squeeze any shots off before blaster fire crunches into durasteel just overhead.

[ Amal Jha (Amal) ]

Why did things always have to turn difficult? As Amal caught sight of the mandalorian moving to secure one of the trucks, Amal briefly considered using the truck for cover, but her start was too slow and the truck was soon away and instead, Amal moved to use one of the still stationary trucks for cover, eyes scanning to seek for the best approach to the saloon.

[ Teela Kloo (tk) ]

Well that's not good... Teela gets a pretty bad feeling about the center of town, and specifically the overwhelming amount of firepower raining down from those upper windows. Her heavy blaster spins over her finger and settles it into her holster, then turns and bolts back towards one of the speeders they came in on. She leaps into the driver seat and whips it around with a quick shift of power front to back on the repulsors.

<<"Everyone on me!">>

She's not moving slow, but she's not zooming across the open area either... Providing mobile cover for the gathered groups of Bounty Hunters. Head ducked down to the side to take advantage of the cover provided by the front end of the speeder herself. <<"Someone please shut those guns up on the second floor!">>

[ Hahtavi Kora (Haht) ]

As soon as he realizes that some of the are making a mad dash down the street, under orders to get to civilians they might use as leverage, Hahtavi fires off his jetpack a second time and flies up into the air in their direction. He rockets on full throttle to catch up to them as fast as possible and as he closes with the one in the rear, the Mandalorian WHACKS the living snot out of that guy from behind.

Down he goes in a heap in the dust. It happens so fast that Hahtavi isn't really prepared for the guy to drop so suddenly and misses his follow up attempts to hit the thug.

The Kora does manage not to get tangled up in the body as it flails and goes down, feeling something strike his boot. At almost spins him off course but Haht manages to correct for it and keep after the others running even as Lofty runs and tries to trip one up with his whip..

[ Lofty (L) ]

Lofty pursues the lackeys going after the civilians! He is a big Talz, but he is (relatively) fast. His ion whip is held in one paw and his blowgun is held in another. The blowgun is raised to his boopsnoot, and a stunning dart is fired into one of the lackeys' backs. DOINK. Now the paralytic poison begins to work.

[ Aejin (AJ) ]

As bounty hunters, Lofty, and thugs begin to scatter (or don't) in what seems to be every direction - including up - it appears that Aejin is keen the join the one who goes up. He steps and jumps, though his feet do not immediately touch the ground following his jump. The heavy jetpack that he wears snarls to life as it fires him into the air, cutting out as he begins to reach the pinnacle of the rooftops. He drops down and onto one of the nearby rooftops, answering the call-out made by Teela Kloo and the call to silence the second floor's aggression, <<"Standby for the second floor,">> Aejin answers in cool, dry fashion. While he's answering that particular call for action, his left hand moves to collect a micro-grenade from his belt. He lifts it up, presses it gently to the visor of his helmet and, presumably, delivers unto it the featheriest of feathery kisses before he prepares to arm it.

[ Kael Greystorm (Kent) ]

Kael watches as some of the goons are running off towards the locals they'd been hired to protect and the what feels like an old man at this point bounty hunter just sighs as he shifts his movements from going towards cover to stepping around to sight in on one of the goons running and squeezes the trigger the massive pistol giving a single bark spewing the stunning blaster bolt towards and into one of the goon's back. "Never too late to surrender pups."

[ Fae Renta (Fae) ]

The three lackeys running for the civilians are converged on and, one by one, briefly deterred from their course towards the far end of town. One is blind-sided in the back by Hahtavi, another is shot in the torso with a blow-dart by Lofty, and the last is shot by Kael. All three of them stagger, but grit their teeth and continue to push towards that far end of town with the goal of reaching where a crowd of civilians are gathered and watching the fray through shuttered windows with wide eyes.

More goons pour out from the saloon and, though the bulk of the fire has stopped from the second floor, they've begun to fan out to surround the bounty hunters that have taken cover at various locations throughout the town. Aejin is on the roof, Sheela behind her speeder, and Amal and Fae are pressed up against speeder trucks at the center of town.

<"They're still moving!"> Fae shouts from behind cover. She slides along the back of that speeder truck and levels her blaster rifle towards where the slowly-limping lackeys are making their retreat. Just before she squeezes the trigger, a blaster bolt rips into here shoulder and knocks her against the opposite truck with a loud crash. She cries out in pain and grits her teeth from behind that metal t-visor. The E-11, still tucked up under her arm, is leveled at both.

ZORT.

ZORT.

Two lackeys drop to the ground. Lights out.

<"One... hhh... more!">

[ Teela Kloo (tk) ]

This speeder is a huge dang'on target and she's served her purpose well.

Teela is trying to drive it while practically laying on the passanger seat, so she's not got a whole lot of leverage to fire, but by the grace of some higher power manages to not kill herself or anyone else as she arrives in the center of town! Poor busted up speeder? Not as lucky. It coughs and bellows smoke from the engine, which took all them shots intended for her. Such a loyal mechanical beast she's been...

One gauntleted hand slides over the dash and then she leaps over the passanger side to take cover by the rest of the covered wag- er... the speeders arranged in the center. <"Anyone else getting a 'this is a trap' vibe right now?">

The poor speeder's repulsor finally sputters, the front end wobbles, and then it crashes to the ground with a grrrrrrrrrrrrr'ugh'ugh'ugh...PEEEERRT...

Such a loyal beast.

[ Amal Jha (Amal) ]

being in the center of town, with the enemy closing in? Not a good position to be in, when one did not have an easy exfil solution. But the work was the work, and the smuggler and erstwhile bounty hunter pushed away from the cover she was behind, dodging as best she could as she moved to eliminate the last of the thugs moving on foot towards the civilians. She moved at good speed, and took advantage of the stagger that the shot from the blaster, or was it a blowgun? Well, at any rate a good right and he was down. And a sweep of her foot for god measure.

[ Hahtavi Kora (Haht) ]

Teela's fast thinking gets her revving the speeder and pulling up to block the entrance to the building where the civilians are locked up. It saves Hahtavi needing to fly ahead to block that door with his own body. As the remainder of those thugs go down, he gives Teela a quick one glove salute off of his helmet's visor and takes off into the air again... Well, almost. The jetpack fires but the angle or takeoff isn't good. The Kora fails to get any altitude and his boots end up hitting the ground - in the right direction but not airborne and flying as intended. It evokes a grunt through his vocoder even as his baton is handed off to his right hand. The left goes for a grenade from his satchel even as Haht starts running back towards the rest of his team.

<"CRYO OUT!"> A quick warning to his teammates what he's doing and the grenade's pin is pulled. A quick two second count to start cooking it off before Hahtavi hucks it. The throw is /beautiful/ and drops the cryoban grenade right between two of the welcoming committee. Hello boys. There is a bright flash of brilliant light with a BANG and an icy blast throws two of them off of their feet and into the street.

[ Lofty (L) ]

Lofty was rumbling up to stomp on the back of the last civilian-threatening lackey, but Amal Jha swept the leg. The civilians are safe. For now. The large Talz walks back toward the center of town where the wagons are circled, but not before pausing to fire another blowgun dart at the encroaching desperados. DOINK! One of the darts sticks in an adobe-brick-mud building. But at least the wave of cool cryogen grenades is soothing.

[ Aejin (AJ) ] From the rooftop Aejin takes a long moment to survey the unfolding battlefield below. While he is certainly no tactical genius, he can easily grasp the concept of being overwhelmed and at risk of being overrun. It is for this reason that he moves to the edge of the rooftop, peers over the ledge to the battle raging below, and gives a firm nod of his head. It is with that nod that he takes in targetting data and, with a final dip of his head, a screech rises from him. The K-22 rocket affixed to his jetpack arcs into the sky, trailing a plume of smoke in its wake. Up-up-up it goes until it reaches to the apex of its ascent. Then it begins to angle and fall again.

Arcing over the rocket begins to plummet back toward the surface of Socorro. There's an issue, however. It's most definitely going in the wrong direction.

It falls, guided by the targeting data fed to it by the helmet package of the gold-and-blood painted Dreadfinder armor. The issue seems to be that for whatever unfathomable reason that helmet package has deemed a perfectly harmless Socorro rat to be an imminent and extremely dangerous threat.

That Mitrinomin K-22 rocket sees to the swift end of that threat.

Meanwhile, Aejin's left to mutter within his helmet, "Mother..." and the rest is lost to some random muttering as he begins readying the next element of his arsenal for deployment.

[ Kael Greystorm (Kent) ]

The tall Greystorm was getting ready to sight down at some of the baddies in the windows when he got hit by two different blasters with resounding ooomph ouuuuchhhhhes included. Kael looks down at the smoking marks in his armor and pokes it with a finger, "Dang." Shifting his stance he makes his way to dive behind some cover the injuries preventing him from getting up to full speed but he does manage to mangle his way behind something that might stop a blaster bolt. "You frickin shot me! You're worth more breathing but still worth somethin dead ya know!" And there's an audible click as the heavy pistol switches to kill.

[ Fae Renta (Fae) ]

The situation is looking dire. Sheela's speeder gets shot well-past totaled before long. Fae's breath is rapid through her vocoder. Hahtavi's able to fling a cryo grenade into the fanned-out crowd and take out two of them, but there are well more than two that remain slowly closing in on the bounty hunters that are, by and large, pinned down at the center of town. Blaster fire rips through the windows of the Trast speeders, scorches durasteel and makes the whole town smell like burnt ozone and war.

The civilians in the bell tower look on with horror as what promised to be their salvation is slowly closed in on by those who have held them captive for days. Children cry while parents try to hold them close and assure them that everything is going to be okay. It's difficult to lie, though. They don't quite believe it themselves.

There's a hiss as Fae pulls off her helmet and rests it in the sand beside her. Lips chapped, breath a little ragged, she clutches that shoulder that had been shot and looks back over her other to the bell tower behind her.

"Alright," she says.

She flips her weapon switch to -kill- and the whole E-11 shudders with anticipation. "Enough of this shavit," she says. She turns to Amal and nods to her.

Maybe the bounty hunters can feel the children's fear. Maybe they can hear the parents' quiet, uncertain assurances. Maybe it's the -hisssssssss- of that rocket that sails overhead and explodes off into the distance that rallies them. Fireworks in the sky.

It's a last rekking stand.

=-=-=-=-=-=-

Last Stand Activated:

- +85 to all Defense Rolls

- -70 to all attack difficulty rolls

- All weapons get an additional +1 attack

- No difficulty switch for target changes or multishot.

[ Teela Kloo (tk) ]

Well this rekkin sucks.

There's thugs surrounding their little bit of cover and blaster fire is planking off the durasteel speeders that's providing it. Teela wasn't exactly sure HOW they were going to get out of this, but she's pretty sure it was going to be something along the lines of 'very painfully'. Which is fine, she's a Mandalorian. The thrill of battle was its own reward.

Then all hell breaks loose.

A rocket whistles over head and hits, unbeknownst to her, a rat somewhere down on the other side of the township. The resulting explosion sends dirt and bits of wood flying. Her reflective visor turns in that direction just as Fae determines that she's had enough. Seeing the Kora-dalorian pat herself for a powercell, Teela reaches into a pouch and side tosses it into her lap.

Then spins out of cover with her own DL-44 pistol coming over the top of cover. A rogue shot skims across her shoulder plate and rocks her a little, but she immediately rights and fires. One shot! BRRRT... The gun swivels, two shots! BRRRRT... Over to a third shot! BRRRRT!

<<"Ib'tuur jatne tuur ash'ad kyr'amur!">>

[ Amal Jha (Amal) ]

Amal, had, it would seem, as she rose up from behind her cover, decided that no bounty was worth her life. She very much appreciated her life. She reached beneath the duster, drawing out the hilt of her rapier, the weapon snapping into its blade form as she rose to her feet. She did not even bother to determine if she should look for best cover. She simply got to the business of cutting down the opposition. Amal fought as she moved, with a wild dancer's grace. Like a true daughter for Eshan, carving through the ranks as though she were listening to some otherworldy music, dancing between the blaster bolts and the cries of pain as their enemies fell before them.

[ Hahtavi Kora (Haht) ]

Well, there they all are, encircling his teammates. It looks like it's time to get pissed off. Closing the range and still not bothering with cover, the black armored Mandalorian grits his teeth. They are closing in too much to risk another grenade so Hahtavi swaps his baton back to his left hand and goes into the fray running...

WHACK-ZAP and WHACK-CRACKLE ... POP! goes the stun baton as the Kora wades in, swinging that electrified riot baton left and right to cleave a path through.

Teeth are bared behind the visor of his helmet. Maybe because he saw that Fae was injured and another man on their team looks bloody. The stun baton cracks against bone and muscle, throwing bodies out of his way.

<"GET OUT OF MY WAY, di'kuts! Medic incoming!"> Except that instead of handing out bandages and bacta, Hahtavi's handing out whacks with the riot baton!

[ Aejin (AJ) ]

The Rattataki that is Aejin shakes off the matter of the misfire from the K-22 rocket. Following his bout of muttering, Aejin peers over the roof's edge once again. This time he readies the rockets affixed to his wrist, syncing them with his helmet package as he prepares the next surprise from Mandalorian's arsenal; it's like a gift wrapped landmine, really. As the situation becomes more and more dire with each passing moment, Aejin commits himself and his equipment once again. The price be damned. The bounty be damned.

In rapid succession the rockets slash through the air as they depart from the wrist-mounted cradle. The explosions that soon erupt form a sound sharp pops as they blast earth, air, and bodies. As the rumble of the final explosion is in the process of fading, Aejin's already preparing the next special delivery. He continues to watch the battle from the rooftops, taking note of the movements of those tucked within cover below. From medics delivering beatdowns to an Echani dancing a most elegant (and deadly) dance to the recently injured diving into cover and more. The Mandalorian, Aejin, stares down from above with an emotionless mask that is his helmet for anyone who may peer upward.

Is that a thermal detonator that he's arming?

[ Kael Greystorm (Kent) ] Kael takes a few breaths to try and center himself before he keys up his comlink, "Lexxi. Send a message home and tell them where we're at and what's going on. And tell her I love her." He reaches up to push a button on his helmet transmitting the recording of everything so far before another deep breath and he comes out from behind cover his Sentinel IV barking as he starts to snap shots into the windows that enemy fire is coming from the HUD in his helmet tracking each of the shooters. His left hand finally comes up with the LL-30 that he'd been holding off on as he snaps more shots into other windows, "Don't care if ya'll have a pulse or no pulse I'm gettin paid. Told you all that you're not going to like option one. You should have gone with option two."

[ Fae Renta (Fae) ]

It's a storm of blaster fire that pounds into the trast trucks that the bounty hunters have been pushed to, but that storm is only a herald. A pilot fish. A flicker of lightning in the dark of night. The people who have held this town hostage certainly bring the rain. They certainly bring the fireworks. They certainly bring the hail and the wind and the lightning.

But the bounty hunters bring the thunder.

It starts with three cracks of Teela's DL-44 that blend seemlessly with the cracks of Amal's Chain-Whip. Just like that, the tide starts to shift. Lightning parts the sea and those converging on the hunters, for one step, hesitate. Hahtavi comes crashing through their ranks like he URGENTLY needs to deliver 900ccs of norepinephrine, STAT. Fae slaps that Powercell into her E-11 and cracks three shots into three skulls.

"Ahaaaa.... haaaa," she laughs, insane, as the enemy collapsing on them start to collapse themselves. The first few dominoes start to fall, and soon enough, they're turning to run. Kneepad rockets rip through the air and explode to send bodies and sand flying into the air.

Within the bell tower, the civilians have begun to crowd to push open the blinds of the windows to witness their saviors... massacring the hell out of everyone around them. Kael's shots ring out and bodies drop as the last few remaining gang members scatter into the harsh, unforgiving desert beyond.

From within the tower, there is a sound. Cheering. Elation. Absolute, palpable relief. The door comes crashing open and, tentative, the civilians slowly step outside. It's as if the town breathes a sigh of relief.

Fae collapses back onto her butt and clutches her arm, wincing in pain as those last few scurry off.

"Ha.... hahaha," she laughs, and drops her E-11 beside her. "Huttsuckers."

[ Teela Kloo (tk) ]

Teela doesn't go chasing bounties because she's not a bounty hunter. Soon as the goons start fleeing or dropping weapons, she points her blaster at them, then to the next... and so on. Finally the heavy pistol slides into the holster on her leg as she slides down onto the ground beside Fae.

Reflective visor turns towards her, then it's coming off. Helmet clank on the ground. Her hand fishes around in her pocket for a tobac-stick, one between her lips and one held out to Fae. If she takes it, which why wouldn't she?! Tee lights her own, brushing red bangs out of her face to lean in towards the open flame of a small torch, then extends it out to Fae.

"Enough of this shavit, huh?" A smirk curling the corner of her mouth around a long drag. Head lulling back against the side of the speeder she'd been using for cover. Both feed extend out, ankles cross.

Everyone celebrates.
