Mandalorians Assault one of Warlord Tsook's major ammo reserves.

OOC Date: October 5, 2022
Location: Mandalore: The Bloodfields
Participants: Sumi Kora, Raissa Taivu, Valeska Kora, Jallo Dara, Nix, and Hadrix Kora as GM Mandalorians, Clan Kora, Mandalorian Revivers

The Ro'Chur Jung was on a terrain following path, screaming over the rocky landscape of the Bloodfields. Pulling surface lava out of the fissures into its wake for the speed and closeness of the dropship's passing. Throaty engines roaring and the lights within the drop bay have gone red.

<<"There's only infantry watching the exterior. We spotted them a few days back, marked positions. They won't be an issue, but when we hit we're dropping out and charging the cavern entrance at speed. Heaviest kit, it's a tra'tacyn jurkad">> lightning strike <<"Get in, drop personnel as we see them, drop charges and bounce. See if we can seal them in. If you see ordinance you can give a little kiss, do it. But we can't get bogged down.">>

There is the repeated 'bwoomnm' sounds of small arms striking shields mixing with the engine growl, before the hissing scream of the beam lasers mounted to the dropships wings engaging. Two sweeps and then only the thrusters beginning to slow. The weight born of speed reducing and then the hard turn being made just before the drop door slides open,

<<"DEPLOY!">> barked out and Hadrix is out the door, still speaking, <<"Sumi'alor! Command is yours!">>

Outside, the bodies of those caught in the path of the ball-turret guns can be seen, blasted apart as if a knife or lightsaber passed through them and yawning wide is the entrance to this munitions reserve, dull red lights visible on HUD systems appearing from the deep gloom.

<<"We carve a path through the resistance. Those with knowledge of demolitions stay near enough but do not risk yourself liberally. One shot at this means if we rekk it up, we deal with the consequences.">> Sumi draws the claymore blade of a Ryyk sword, its ebon length brandished without a glare. Leaping out, she lands below, weapon in hand and begins to charge for the first foe. <"Follow me!"> Is all the century old soldier cries out, before running headlong into the danger that await them at this gate.

Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast. Orders easily understood but perhaps not so easily followed. These particular foes have a habit of not dying when one politely and repeatedly ask. Oh, but demolitions? That's like one big request that is often difficult to refuse. <<"Me and ordnance have a loving relationship,">> she muses while leaping out to run along with the others. <<"I would be happy to give them a detonating kiss.">>

Stay near and not risk oneself liberally? Now that is a tall order, but if it means more kabooms and getting back home all the quicker, Valeska is game. <<"Can do. Point me at whatever you don't want existin' anymore.">>

Doc Rai's here, not in the medical building for once. The woman is armored up and has one of her pistols out given they are going to be in close. "If anyone gets hurt too bad just come see me and we'll get you a quick patch up if needed." she states to the rest of the group. The older woman then quiets and waits for the party to start! Which it does almost as soon as she expected it to.

The closer combat is a little new to Nix but after speaking her concern to Sumi, she was given a tiny gun. She feels close to this gun. Tiny and hits hard. It's like her baby now. She lifts her head up and listens to Hadrix and then Sumi. Then she turns to listen to Raissa and nods. <<"I agree with my fellow doctor. If you are hurt go to her or I, whichever is closer to you.">> The mechanical voice comes over the comms.

The small mando moves over near Sumi and then watches the claymore come out. She watches the leap and follows after Sumi, landing in full super hero stance. She gets up and rushes behind Sumi with the E-11 in hand.

Jallo's here! He was like a wizard and didn't arrive late. Nor early but exactly when he needed to arrive. As Sumi begins to charge he reaches down to unclasp the spear locked to the thigh plate of his armor flicking it to open the weapon locking into place before he starts to jog along picking up his pace as he starts to spin the spear getting reacquainted with the weight of his trusted weapon. <"Got it. Go to the nearest doctor. Don't let our Demo folks get killed and make the enemies bleed out on this field of battle.">

The darkness swallows them up in moments after passing the cavern threshold, the dull red overhead lights giving a sickly glow that seems just enough for helmet systems, bionics or genetic enhancement to eyesight to cut through the gloom. A long descending passage, tall enough to keep heads from bashing into the lamp fixtures and wide enough for barely three to move abreast. Forcing a staggered formation.

Forcing the first defenders to round a bend to make their first ranks drop to one knee with the click and whirr of blasters priming to fire.

Charging at forward flank, Hadrix's scatter blaster is out, ready to fill corridors with plasma flak in juxtaposition of Sumi and Jallo's 'personal' touch. The sight of those first defenders drawing out, <<"Front line blasters, drop and fire! Watch your lines!">

No faces can be seen among the defenders, their armor lacking the visual quality of beskar, but they have visors, there are indicators of technology in their equipment. No desert raiders geared and prepared for shock-forces. Mandalorians come down through generations of the world's hardships, ready to repel.

Sumi Kora is surrounded by the sound of friendly boots beating feet beside her, the heavy thuds acting like war drums that fill her head with inspiration. Mandalorians arrive in good order and tactical fashion, and Sumi intends to put it to disorganized chaos. Her jetpack comes to life in a sudden, unexpected jump, and Sumi lands with tremendous momentum, striking a soldier right off their feet before plunging the heavy claymore down through their throat for a decisive kill. She yanks the ornate weapon free by its pommel, hoisting it up and charging right into the heart of the Mandalorian defenders!

First round is met and right off, Valeska doesn't see anything that she can safely explode. So she does what any good Mandalorian would do. She drops to a knee and pulls up the tracker. <<"You're blocking the way.">> Even with the enhancements of her helmet, the lowlight makes picking a target more like finding a vague outline. But if it moves and is close by, it's getting shot.

WHAP WHAP! Two shots hit two solid bodies rapid-fire; the blasts illuminating her red-painted armour for a brief moment then fading again. She can't tell if her targets are dead, but when they opt not to get back up, she assumes they are at least no longer an obstacle.

Rai takes to the back of the group, but stays close given the situation. The woman doesn't want to make anyone have to save her rear. She gives a bit of a grunt as she aims at one of the cave soldiers, but she doesn't hit either of her shots, "Well, kriff." she spits out.

Sumi is off attacking and the mini-mando does a little battle cry which comes out dead panned at 'Ahhhhh'. Same tone... no inflection. She doesn't use her jet pack but she pushes a head to stop the cave soldiers. Watching Valeska kick ass gives her the kahona's to lift the little gun and shoot. Though is that person on fire? She giggles a little and shoots again but is too distracted from the fire she caused. She rushes forward again.

As the distance between Jallo and the soldiers closes the spear wielding Mandalorian jetpacks in increasing his speed a bit before skidding thrusting into one of the soldiers who's not bleeding as as the spear comes back spinning blood flicks off before another thrust glances off the armor to no effect.

Fallen into by the invaders, the Warlord's soldiers are battered by the sudden blitz of blade, spear and blaster fire in their midst. Calling out in fury, those closest to the pair engaging in melee bringing their heavy rifles around. Utilizing reinforced frames to make attempts to smash the stocks of some against Sumi and Jallo and one even draws sparks from Dara when their bayonet screams against a shoulder pad.

<<"Don't get bogged down.">> the reminder from Hadrix calm, controlled, stalking forward until he is close enough to jam the barrel of the old blaster right up to the shocked neck of a defending soldier. Earning a <"ULK!"> before the octo-sected plasma bolt cuts through, spinning the head into the ceiling and leaving the body to fall boneless to the passage floor.

There are distant klaxons going off, deeper within. Shouting. The rattle of armor. Don't worry little brothers and sisters, there are more.

Sumi was not getting bogged down in the fight, and after she dislodged her blade from her first kill, she had already begun to shoulder passed the line to move deeper into this structure. She did not come away unscathed, a soldier planted the buttstock of their weapon against her chest, but all it accomplished was creating a long 'ping' noise against her armor, and push her the rest of the way through the line.

Unlike the monotone ahhhhhh articulated by Nix, Sumi gave a loud cry as she activated her rocketpack again and leapt into the distance, landing hard and into the form of a run/jiggy jog. Her weapon was held close, poised to strike when next a foe come within its biting range!

She made the opening but when trying to bolt through it, Valeska is grabbed by one of the larger defenders of this tunnel. Stopped suddenly in her tracks, she wheels around; firing from the hip a shot that goes wide. Now she is locked in a grapple with this guy -- gal? -- foe trying to yank her arm free. <<"I don't think you want to be doing that, handsy! You've just made my list!">>

Raissa gives another grunt when she finds another target and oh boy, this is going to be a long fight. The bolts miss both targets and she takes a moment to smack her gloved hand to the side of it, "Did I get you wet?!" she grumps at it.

Nix watches Sumi move and tries to do the same. She shoots and then shoots again. <<"Stop resisting. I would like to set you on fire, please.">> That eerie voice speaks out to the soldiers as she moves even closer to make sure people are protected. She can't do much but she can catch a bullet with her torso. She's got that down pat.

Jallo 'deftly' moves out of the way when he's attacked by the soldiers the first attack being nowhere close to him but that second one put a scratch on his armor. His helmeted gaze looks at the scratch then back at the soldier in front of him and a chuckle escapes from his helmet, <"I'm shocked it took you all this long to even scratch my armor."> His spear slips between the soldier's defenses sliding cleanly into flesh before it's followed by a second thrust bringing his opponent to the ground. Pulling his spear clear of the falling body he flicks the bladed end clean of blood splattering it in the direction of his next opponent, <"You're next.">

<"DON'T GET BOGGED DOWN">

The sound from Al'Verde Kora isn't a shout and the volume of his externals isn't even raised to battlefield levels, but it distorts the vox speakers. There's none of the 'pleasant' growl reserved for clan and allies either. It's fury. It's battle rage and one can almost hear him foaming when he, quite literally, leaps forward. Narrowly fitting between defending warriors and the low ceiling of the passage as he sails overhead.

The Warlord's troops follow the movement, trying to fire on the pair getting past them, chatter over their own comms furious, then surprised, when the big man twists. An arm swinging round to hurl a baton like object at them, landing it very specifically before he lands in a single hand spring. Taking off after Sumi down the corridor.

When the Cryoban goes off its radius is just so that Jallo's armor frosts, there's a chill within and only a pair of the defending warriors are still standing, the others lay on the ground with ice riming parts of their bodies that aren't shaking violently. Leaving a clear path for those behind and showing the leaders of Clan Kora pelting down into the gloom.

Their tunnel exit opening up into a small chamber carved from the stone, grates over fissures keeping errant feet from falling and potentially pooting boots into molten rock that heats and illuminates parts of the room with scrap metal and salvage wood crates stacked in orderly rows. Defended by a quintet of the Warlord's troops.

When Sumi arrives in the large room, there is a group of soldiers ready for combat. Her run has slowed to a jog, then a walk as she drags the blade up to a ready position and approaches. <"Your weapons, Mando'ade. Time to see what generations of battle have taught us.">

Sumi steps forward, striking one with a hellish cross, allowing the heavy blade to carry her through a spin of momentum to hit another, showering sparks off the armor and biting deep against their body beneath. The battle has begun!

Nix sees that there is one single soldier which is standing. She frowns and nods her head. She moves closer to the last Soldier and slowly lifts up the gun again. <<"May the stars remember you as you rest among them.">> Then she shoots them twice and watches them go down with a thud. She turns her eyes to glance around and see what else could be standing. Her eyes narrow a little as she notices her people being alright. Mostly.

Jallo taps the frost that's now formed on his armor and he looks at the frozen bad guys and gives them a bit of a salute before he takes off at a jog to get into the next bit of battle with the rest. Getting to a warrior he stabs into their gut with his spear and as the shaft is held into place for a moment he raises his arm to fire flames out and... up? <"Ooohhh that's not quite where I thought it would go."> And the spear is pulled out and the man moves into a bit more of a defensive stance as he prepares for the inevitable counter attack.

One foe left, injured by spear and diving clear of flame, firing point blank at Jallo while they skid along the passage floor. Their head bobbing as if speaking and they scramble to get footing, without support and outnumbered as they are. More alarms begin to go off, and within the room with crate stacks, from one of two passageways in a T junction to the entry used by Hadrix and Sumi, five more guards arrive.

Their armor in scaling quality, up to one whose glimmers like moonlight where it isn't painted, a heavy carbine clutched in their fists and being trained on Sumi's position.

<<"Planting charges.">> Hadrix rumbles, shot-blaster held by the mid-point and his other hand drawing out palm sized 'buttons' that begin to pulse red once they've been slapped onto a crate. The next onto a stone pillar carved at the center of the room, and another thrown to the ground near a wider section of a lava fissure.

<<"Checking next room.">> Blaster bolts ricocheting from his his back plate and off of his thigh even as he disappears into the dark, trusting Sumi and the others to handle themselves, or call out as needed.

Sumi does not stop her advance with the arrival of more warriors. She charges the leader, not knowing they're the leader, and closes the distance just because he was far away and it put space between her and the other melee-happy soldiers. Her strike with sword lands across the warrior's chest, causing sparks only, and they prove equally trained and deadly when they duck beneath her next swing.

<"Finally,"> Sumi exclaims, chuckling. <"A challenge. May it be a good death!">

Sumi heard Hadrix as he went about his mission with explosives. Her goal was to keep the pressure off him as much as possible.

The doctor turns and stares at the final warrior and nods her head. She lifts her gun and vaporizes the poor sod. She starts running. She's small so her little legs carrying her as fast as they can towards Hadrix and Sumi. She totally stayed behind to help Jallo. Yes. That's why she's not moving forward right away. She does keep moving though.

Jallo looks around for anything else to stab now that he's been shot and is slightly miffed. The spear gets retracted and returned to his thigh scabbard as he starts to jog back down towards where the next set of enemies are at his hand reaching down to grasp the E-14 holstered on the opposite thigh it coming out of the holster and then he pulls the stock into place before he looks towards Nix before he jetpacks towards the sounds of battle zooming a bit faster than he could have been running.

Just arriving in the next chamber Jallo and Nix find their relative senses of sight cluttered, suddenly, by the massed fire being trained on Sumi when her quarry takes several hop-steps back. Far enough to raise his weapon and open fire, raking a burst of golden plasma across her precision that is joined by a fountain from the others who move into firing lines.

She is a silhouette framed by aureate fire that blackens stone, wood and scrap-durasteel alike in the hailstorm surrounding her. Caught in the middle of her own private maelstrom that is echoed in smaller form down the passage Hadrix had disappeared. Clattering of heavy plates and running feet mixed with the reports of blasters and the clang of armor plates deflecting them.

<<"Found a second chamber. More contacts. More storage... Going to set up something special. Sumi'Alor, giving us a thirty second timer for combat withdraw. At Twenty-Five seconds run.">>

More blaster fire comes from the passage Hadrix had taken.

Sumi is difficult to pin down and shoot at; her tenacity and unpredictability as a brawler was a product of design and programmed from youth with a century of experience to back it. Shots land every where at once, raining sparks down over the battle. One blow lands across her chest, but it lacked the velocity to truly hinder the warrior beneath the beskar plating. Among the attacks deflected, a Mandalorian warrior's was parried, and Sumi rained down a counter blow that struck across the neck spilling a small wave of blood. Another warrior falls!

Observing the elite Mandalorian Commando leap back to use distance as a weapon prompted Sumi to close the distance again, this time sliding low and dragging her razor-sharp weapon across his leg to hinder him. <"Now you can't run."> Is all she said, rising back up to continue her assault.

Hadrix's comment earns only a single word response, <"Heard."> She was a little busy!

His press towards Sumi was his undoing. With an injured leg already hindering the strength of his blows, Sumi used what meager momentum he made and cut him down after stepping aside to allow him to pass foolishly. She swept both legs in a single strike, then brought the blade down a final time, its tip sliding in beneath the chin of his helmet and into his throat. <"You were no coward."> Was all Sumi offered in his final moments. She takes two hits, both on the same leg, and it makes her tumble from view. She frees her sword and activates her jetpack under duress, reacting to the warning Hadrix made. She lands behind Nix and Jallo, her responsibility to ensure they make it out alive.

The shots start going off and she turns to see Jallo get hit a few times but that allows her precious tush to get a hit. She starts moving towards Jallo trying to shake the pain as she runs and her boot meat moves. She pulls out her medpac and slides up to Jallo. She frowns and she moves behind Jallo and uses her superior strength and height to push Jallo gently. <<"I'll fix you up when we are safe. I have your back. Now run.">> She tries to move him but the man is injured and she winces. <<"You'll forgive me later.">> She reaches her head under his arm and then her other arm goes between his legs and she just -lifts- him up and starts running. It's doctor protecting patient muscles.

Jallo tries to run he really does. But everything would be blurry if he had eyes instead all of the echoes are becoming echoes of themselves... He shakes his head a bit as he's lifted a bit, <"Pretty sure the forgiveness comes now. Legs wouldn't move like they used to before.">

<<"Ten!">>

The demolition beads in place begin pulsing faster - their audio warning disengaged. Who in the Seven Hells of Corellia uses the damned audio warning? Let's just tell people where your bombs are, so that they can try to disarm them in time? Fair play in war, or in sapper action, or otherwise.

Not when dealing with Mandalorians.

The pack chasing the Koras and Jallo are massed and firing from every angle they can as the run moves into the passages again with blaster bolts landing all around or splattering against Beskar plates in showers of sparks that create a sort of tracer wake behind Hadrix and Sumi who've taken the rear of the pack by chance of their positioning. A grenade sails back from Hadrix, stick shaped and slamming against a support and spinning off to a corner to flash freeze its surroundings without any harm done.

It's all that he can do, seeing Nix struggling with Jallo.

<<"Five.">>

One wampa paw of a hand closes around the main housing of Dara's jetpack, making metal creak when the Massive Mandalorian bodily hefts the Miraluka off of Nix to allow her less stress for her own injuries when light becomes visible ahead, momentarily. The Dropship appears again, door opening to allow the lot to make for safety, pulling away with the doors still open once they're aboard, moments before dust suddenly rises from the stony ground like morning mist. Then a section sinks down and debris begins flying from the cavern entrance.

<<"Thirty seconds, give or take...">> the timer on his HUD showing '2' floating above his brow.

Grenade fuses.
