From Ryloth with Love - Part Twi

OOC Date: June 5, 2018
Location: Ryloth
Participants: Defiance: Darius Wildes, Vasani, Sajin, Zhu Yan, Kasia Ashkuri

The group of comrades, friends? People that smash things together! Had figured out that Vasani's family still lives on planet just outside of her town instead of in it. Not much else was given, and instead of rushing there the group decided to grab lunch and head to this homestead around dinner time.

This lunch they had was all made by Vasani, and this group would have learned just how real stress baking is. The blue twi'lek had baked three massive cakes for the group to feast on during this time, and by now just a little bit before dinner they were almost all gone. Darius stands at end of a fold-up table he had brought out for the group to feast on. "Move! You, dumb lizard, move!" He calls out to a juvenile Varactyl, Slasst, that has decided to lay on this table that will not support its weight. Yeah, that looks like it is about SNAP. Down goes the lizard child, whining like a baby and rushing off to find Vasani. "Welp, clean up is easier now." Darius grumbles.

Oh yes, stress baking is real all right. But everyone benefits from it so thats okay. Vasani had just finished cleaning up after the cooking when Slasst came running over to her. She kneeled down on her knees, petting the side of his face. "Awe buddy! Yer gonna have ta stay on the ship again, 'kay? I don't want anything happenin' ta ya!" She gives the giant lizard a kiss on the forehead, sending him off into the ship as she goes back outside to see everyone else.

Sajin enters from somwhere odd. Not where the starport is. HE didn't ride with the others so he must have flew in on his ship or with someone else. He's still got his helmet on. He's kept it on a lot lately, especially after his fight with Grom. "Hey guys..." He says as he approaches closer. "I got a little lost, sorry." He wasn't the brightest bulb after all.

"I hate this planet," said Zhu Yan. He'd barely eaten anything. He looked on edge. Real on edge. Maybe he was nervous. Maybe he was cold. Maybe he was expecting trouble. Honestly he was probably expecting trouble. He was leaning against one of the hydraulics that was attached to the inferior YT-2000's ramp, arms folded, frown on his face. He'd flown the Redline here behind the back, complaining like only someone with a Jewish droid for company could. "Oi, Blue," he called out to the emerging blue Twi'lek newcomer to the merry band of reprehensible reprobates. "How much shooting are we expecting when we find what we're here for?"

Darius turns and gives Sajin a smile. "No, worries, and here!" He moves over to one of the tables that hasn't been broken down and grabs the LAST piece of cake and offers it to Sajin. "Have a bite while I break everything down. "And when Darius means break down, he means just shove everything under the ship until he wants to deal with it later. The ship will be locked when they leave, but if someone really wants some cake covered crappy table, more power to them. Hearing Zhu Yan Darius gestures. "Hopefully not a lot. The future mother-in-law sent Siha to watch over Vasani and she has already go off to investigate a few things. Which I can only assume in a Mando type of way, so probably some shooting eventually but not a lot." He then pauses.

"Alright just to review here, and since handsome and I mean the MOST handsome. " Darius nods to Sajin. "Is out of the loop, we are going to visit Vasani's family out of town. She hasn't seen them since they tried to sell her off into slavery by the Twi'lek tradition of Vassij'ra. Ve escaped that, and now is here to see if her little sister was sold to replace her and if so, fix that situation."

"So hopefully no shooting... Unless my sister is in slavery then maybe SOME shooting." Vasani nods after Darius' explanation. "Oh! But no shootin' my family!" She shakes her hands around in front of her. "I mean unless they're mad at me fer leavin' and try shootin' us first. Ya' don't think that'll happen will it?" She turns to Darius, eyebrows curling up in concern.

Sajin stares at the cake a moment before reaching out a hand to take the offered baked good. "Ah... no-one look." He turns away from the group and undoes his helmet. The back of his head is revealed and it seems relativly normal as he stuffs the cake into his face. He makes quick work of it, some of the bits flying in different directions. The helmet is replaced as he turns back around. "I was going to ask the policy on killing her folks or if there was some money in it." He seemed pretty serious about that too.

Zhu Yan patted the Bryar sitting on a slight angle on his right thigh to remind himself that it was there. Damn thing had the power cell sticking out into his leg, and it had taken ages for him to adjust it enough to sit comfortably. "Honestly there probably would be money in it, the trick is finding out from whom," said the smuggler, playing along with Sajin's serious query. "We can't exactly shoot now check later." Was he messing with them?

"Of course they aren't gonna shoot you." Darius says with a smile and pinches the bottom of Vasani's chin. Distracted by the blue twi'lek he doesn't watch as Sajin turns around. Though in reality he has no idea if they are gonna shoot Ve, or anyone. He has never met them. But just lie and say it will be fine, the important thing is to not shoot them first, right? Darius looks between Zhu Yan and Sajin. "Yes, I forgot the wise words of Grom. 'blue-headtails be VERY clear who Grom is suppose to destroy. I can get excited.' Or something like that. So, to be very clear we aren't shooting anyone that doesn't try to kill us first. Unless Vasani says kill everyone, then well We do that right?" A joke to maybe make her feel better, and maybe misdirect from the idea there may be money in killing Vasani's entire family.

"Okay, so it is about a ten minute walk out of town. Still warm, and still plenty of sun so might as well get on with it." Darius says as he starts to head out.

"Dare... There's always plenty of sun here... The sun doesn't CHANGE here, remember?" Vasani teases. Clearly Darius doesn't have many experiences on Ryloth. "Ten minutes though. Not far at all. Let's just go an' get this over with." She says to the group. "I know the way to where they are, so just stick with me 'kay?" Vasani instructs everyone, before slowly, Very Slowly, starting on her way toward their house.

Sajin looks to Yan after listening to engaged pair and gives a shrug. "Alright." Is all he says before he starts to follow behind Vas as a casual pace, taking in the sights, but also keeping a look out of anything out of the ordinary.

"All right? You mean you don't wanna investigate to see how much coin we could get?" needled the smuggler to the janitor. Yan fell into step next to the power armored man, keeping pace with them, and opted to annoy everybody present further. "All we'd need to do is check out the local bounty board. Would probably have a listing. Then we can go in, pop pop pop, problem-o solved-o. And you need the funds! You have a KINGDOM to pay for!" he boomed triumphantly, then looked pensieve for a moment. "Well, Queendom. Does Ori wear the pants privately as well? Does she still have that tattoo?" Oh now he was just being ridiculous!

The band of merry travelers and totally happy people that are well adjusted to society, find a rather quiet walk through the valley going out of the town and then into the plains near the homestead. For those not directly with anyone the address was given out through commlink and datapads. Siha has it. Trillian has it. Grom has it. Oh wait, where is Grom? Ah, it'll probably be fine. The journey probably had nervous chatting, friendly chatting, weird awkward silences from time to time and even bad jokes. Speaking of bad jokes.

"And then I said, what do I look like an Ithorian?" Darius erupts with laughter, almost running into Vasani as she suddenly stops. There it is. A small home in a sea of fields. Not but twenty feet from the group. They can easily can hear faint humming coming from behind the home, and it smells as if a meal is being made. Obviously people are home.

Vasani stopped dead in her tracks when they reached the home. "M-Maybe we should just... ya'know... Just go back ta' the ship now? Fun adventure everyone! Thanks fer comin!" She tries to back out out of nervousness, but takes a deep sigh. "No. I gotta do this." She talks herself back in to it again. She looks up at Darius for a moment for support before walking up to the house and knocking on the door. The first knock is so light it isn't even heard. Then another big sigh, and she knocks again, this time louder.

"No... and yes she still has the Tattoo." Sajin says to Yan. Once they arrive at the house, the power armored janitor chimes in as they all stop laughing. He was the only one who wasn't. "I don't get it. Don't you look a bit like an Ithorian?" Stupid Sajin. "Hey I got an idea. Let Yan and I go in first. Really fuck with their heads a bit. Then you can come in. It'll be funny."

"The joke is that he apparently has their reproductive organs," said Yan, nodding sagely as though he had any idea what Darius's joke was about while he was off in la-la-land. He stood there, hands in pockets, whistling innocently. "Oh yeah sure let's do it. Boom boom, here we are, bad news guys, your daughter ain't dead or a slave, nope, she free and right here! Will go down a treat." Oh Yan.

Kasia is here, or at least she is now. She's been on Ryloth for a bit, but has only just now caught up with the group, making her way toward them thanks to... I don't know, a find my friend app on the datapads or whatever. Or comms. Something. Whatever, she's here now, dressed up in light, airy clothing that she wears when on this too hot world, hair aaaaallll up so that it is off her neck. She's not wearing jewelry, because there are a lot of poor people and she has been stolen from at the starports here enough to know better. "Hey, is this it?" she asks, looking around at those assembled.

Darius was going to encourage Vasani, but she did that herself walking up to the door he doesn't follow her right off the bat, instead he looks to Sajin. "I do. You know what I do. Sajin, promise me you'll never not be who you are. It is so important to me that you exist." He then looks to Yan. "But I think Yan is making a point, let's follow Vasani's lead ya? We do what she does, unless she tries to run away. Then we pick her up and bring her back. " Cause it's a fiancé job to force you face things even in an unhealthy way right? "Kasia! You made it. Yes, this is the place."

There is no answer from the door, the humming stops and then there is a male voice calling from the behind the house in Ryl. Essentially the person calls out they are out back, come along the worn path and join us for food. Akin to a simple greeting and welcome. And it seems very friendly. If Vasani would look there is a little stone pathway the seems to lead to maybe an awning behind the home.

Another sigh from Vasani, but this time it is out of relief as Kasia shows up. "Kasia! Ya' showed up just in time! I thought these fools were gonna kill my family before we even meet them!" She jokes... or does she? Then breath is held again as Vasani hears her father's voice for the first time in eleven years. "I guess we just... go back there then?" She says, turning to the group again. She takes a moment with everyone by the door, gotta calm those nerves, before cautiously walking down the pathway to the back of the house. A sniff of the air. Mmmm food... is that mom's cooking?

Sajin looks to Yan but dosn't say anything. He's probably just confused. HE glances over to Kasia as he approaches and nods. He's covered by his helmet. Then as Vas is rounding the corner to the back yard, the armored Hapan follows though he keeps his right hand held low towards the grip of his blaster.

Zhu Yan looked at Darius with a puzzled expression on his face before he realized that the point he was trying to make was not in fact the point Darius believed he was trying to make. "I was being serious," he said flatly, giving the man a Look. It was hard to tell sometimes with Zhu Yan. The sithspit that came out his mouth could fill a sewage system. "Still, she probably runs faster than me," he mused, following Young Blue towards deliciousness, contemplating that if the blue woman were to run, he'd either puff himself out or be too lazy to chase her. "I should have brought my jetpack." Rich people problems.

"I'm here," Kasia agrees with a small smile, and a bag on her arm. "I thought you might want to bring a gift?" She hefts it up and inside is a bolt of very colorful, lovely material that probably wasn't cheap. It's very, very Twi'lek in style though, as in it's a very bright colors. "Or we can give it as a general gift for surprising them and imposing our company on them. You know. Or we can throw it at people and use it as a distraction." She moves closer to Vasani, but never ahead, never trying to coerce or take the lead, just there to support. And provide gifts.

As they all would turn the corner to behind the house they would see three Rutian, blue, Twi'leks under an awning attached to the back of the home. An older male sitting in a stool and he seems to be plucking at an old harp of some sort. Not in the way of trying to play it but as if to repair it. An older female is cooking at what seems to be an outdoor kitchen and even going back to her humming. There is a large table and at it sits a twi'lek that looks to be the spitting image of Vasani, expect younger, instead spots on her lekku's there are swirls, and a few other minor details. They all turn to their guest as they arrive and then the plate the older female twi'lek was holding falls smashing to the ground. She stares there in shock as the male quickly looks over. "Goddess, Vasan'ilar." He leaps to his feet but stumbles, the younger twi'lek rushing to hand him his cane. With the best of his ability he moves up to Vasani reaching out to her face. "Vasan'ilar you have come back to us. Goddess we do not deserve this, we do not. But you have found your way back." Tears start to well into his eyes.

"Really? You were? Interesting. " Darius says with a smirk to Yan and then follows Vasani as they all head behind the house. Like Kasia he never tries to go ahead but he actually walks behind Vasani. Kasia got the flank, Darius has the back. But as he watches the display unfold he doesn't really have anything to say, but instead thinks. Yikes. This is emotional. Darius was probably a little more prepared for blasters and yelling, then this. But it is good right?

Vasani's eyebrows curl in, lips pursing in. Oh no. Vasani the crybaby is here. She instinctively goes to grab the hand next to her since it's usually where Darius stands- but what's this? This hand is so soft? Oh, that's Kasia next to her. She looks around at her family, a decade older than she last remembers but still the same, and back to all her friends. "I-" Vasani is so stuck on getting words to come out, she has no idea what to do. Like Darius, this was not at all what she was expecting. She was expecting anger and destruction, not a happy family excited to see her?

"Are you fuggin' serious. You're crying? YOU sold her into slavery, bro." Sajin says, breaking up and totally ruining this touching moment. He shakes his head and moves over to what's ever cooking and picks up a pieces, undoing his helmet to reveal a disfigured face. WEll, it's got a lot of stitching and scars from recurring surgeries at the moment. His head is shaved bald. "Oh, Hex likes these." He plops one in his mouth. He regualarly had breakfast with Rheisa... he'll be fine. No sweat.

Zhu Yan scanned the assembly with all the wariness and narrowed-eyed suspicion of a man who's experience with Twi'leks started with strippers and ended with Hex. He wasn't used to happy family reunions, especially from individuals he was used to seeing wrapped around poles (or being beaten across the head with poles) so his next frame of mind was curious puzzlement. Then again, he hadn't seen his family in... did he even have a family? Were they part of an alias? A cover story? Was that part of the fake backstory he made up for Hal Seiser? Or Conn Kargin? Randall Geard? Who the hell is talking right now? Of course, one cannot dwell upon an identity crisis when a big blue EXIT button was present and, as expected, it snapped Yan out of his cautious, thoughtful reviere. As is tradition, it was something that was about to get him killed. "Dude! Your sister-in-law is hot!"

Kasia allows her hand to be taken, because of course she does, and held for however long Vasani decides to hold it. She gotchoo bby. There'll even be a little squeeze of the hand, but then she turns, not far enough to really step away, but to /look/ back at Sajin and Yan. "You guys!" she hisses in a low voice that is, you know, definitely loud enough for everyone to be heard. "Can you please just... shove food into your mouths so that you both stop talking. Just keep shovling and don't talk!"

It is a lot to take in. Just the emotion of Vasani coming back is a lot to take in. Then she brings people under the Defiance banner with her. A lot. To. Take. In. The mother and father are too focused on crying to pay much attention, they are mumbling in Ryl otherwise known as 'twi'lek speak' and embracing Vasani. They hug her, they pull her close, they kiss her on the forehead. They eventually both drop to their knees and take Vasani's free hand. "Our child, Vasan'ilar, we will never ask you to forgive us for what we tried to do. But please, let us just have our daughter back. Even if only for a dinner. " Koyi though, Vasani's little sister, seems a little more put together. She was a couple years younger than Vasani and while she loved her sister she was raised most of her life without her. She quickly scans all the guests her sister has brought and then looks over to Sajin helping himself. "Yes. " She starts, addressing the members of Defiance. "There is plenty for all of us. "There isn't. "Please, come and sit. Relax." Her eyes settle on Zhu Yan and Darius and there seems to be a bit of appraisal.

"Not married yet, let's not drop that bomb right now buddy old pal. Trying to deal with crying twi'lek family right now, can deal with scary future-in-laws later. " Darius grumbles over to Zhu Yan as he sticks his thumbs into the top of his utility belt.

Vasani is shaking in a say similar to her normal excited bounce. Except theres also a lot of crying. A lot of emotions in general. "What-" Vasani still is a little dumbstruck. Thanks for the hand holding Kasia! She lets go of her friend's hand to put her hand over the hands of her parents. "Yeah" She agrees with her little sister's idea of taking a seat. "Uh- guys, this is my family." She starts the introductions, even though she has no idea what her family is up to right now.

UGLY SAJIN glances back over at Kasia, "Sorry Kasia..." He says genuinly. His hazel eyes grace that of Vas's sister, totally checking her out but only because Yan said she was hot. He pops another grilled treat into his mouth and atually take a whole plateful more. Like a massive one. "Yeah... I mean. She's got a pretty good ass. Yan, you should try to pick her up. Then you and Darius can be related."

Zhu Yan, ever the bastard, gave Sajin a look of 'IKR?!' He turned back to his group and started talking again. "I hear they cut two fingers off the groom to seal the bond between families," he advised Darius, dropping bombs like a Houk in the bathroom, nodding near-profoundly and somehow sounding truly wise about the topic. Hint: he wasn't. "Because Hek'sashkuri was betrothed to one so noble he had to sacrifice an arm and a leg to balance the books." That was a bit of a stretch, and he didn't know if Hex had told them the story, but he was in full-blown gadfly mode. He glanced over at mini-Vasani, the younger one, the impending sister-in-law, and gave her a half-smiling mischievous look that he hoped said 'Roll with it'. Upon Vasani's introductions, he raised one hand in a greeting-salute-thing and said, "'Sup fam!" Someone punch him.

Kasia gives another little squeeze of the hand, and then steps back to give Vasani and her family room to do their thing. And then the boys keep talking. "ZHU YAN." Sajin is spared the verbal scolding, though he gets a LOOK again. "You know as well as I do that Heksash'kuri did NOT sacrifice anything of the sort to marry me, and if you tell lies about him I am going to get a lot more cross than I already am. Is that what you would like? Do you want me to be angry with you?" SHE WILL TURN THIS GAME RIGHT AROUND, Y'ALL.

It seems the parents start to collect themselves but there is a few more sobs and they latch onto Vasani as if afraid she'll disappear again. "Yes, yes." The father starts apparently missing most of the objectification of his youngest daughter, instead only hearing her invite the guest. "Please, come eat with us. Friends of Vasan'ilar are always welcome in our home. Sit, please sit. Share our food and home." The mother would quickly move away from Vasani to start making plates for people, then notices Sajin's rather large portion. "Handsome boy is still growing I bet, here." She places a couple more pieces of his plate. Koyi, though, is not nearly amused by the comments on her body, nor with Zhu Yan's mischievous look. She folds her arms together but stays quiet. Though her eyes are giving daggers. She is probably processing a lot too.

"Even if they do, I'm less concerned with Twi'lek traditions and more concerned with my mother's side. What they want to put Ve through. " Darius tone has changed from being overly friendly to a tad more serious as he speaks to Yan. "Wait, what? I don't wanna talk about marriage stuff. Stop making me talk about marriage stuff!" Oh, shit. Yep, Darius saw it. The sister totally heard him say marriage stuff with those keen cone ears of her. Kasia talks now, she is better, she is talking to people so Darius steps away. The young man then tries to stay quiet and move to follow Vasani to the table.

Vasani walks over with her father, holding on to him as she notices the limp he now has. What happened to him? Is this just from age or something else? She takes a seat next to him, still kind of stunned looking between her family and everyone else. She prepared for every outcome she could think of, but didn't even consider the fact that they would all be here and happy to see her. She decides the easiest thing to do is talk about other people, ignoring the Taun Taun in the room of WHAT HAPPENED?? "Darius: he's my fiance, Kasia: She's the smart one, Sajin: He's my hot friend, Zhu Yan: He's got a nice jacket." she gestures toward each person as she introduces them.

Sajin is stuffing his face, grease and guts and whatever dripping down his cheeks and covering his lips as he devours the plate of goodies. He licks and sucks the tips of his fingers before randaling his way up to Vasani's sister. "Hey... You see that guy over there. They guy with the 'really' big pistol. You know, like he's compensating for something. I know, he's kinda gross. But he's got a lot of money. Way more than a hot bod guy like me has. Think about it sweetheart." He looks to Vas's mother, "Oh more? Hell yes. Thank you. This stuff is awesome." A look to Kasia, "Stop looking at me like that. It's kinda turning me on and I just... I just can't do that right now!" He's pleading.

Zhu Yan was silent for a moment post chastising. There was a really awkward pause. She said his name. It wasn't his real name, but now this alias was burned. Damn. Now, Yan had two choices. One, do the smart thing, the right thing, apologize, promise never to do it again, and grovel. Two, do the stupid thing, protest, complain, and generally act childlike. I'm going to flip a coin to determine what Yan does and not even look at it because we all know he's gonna take option two whether we like it or not. "Alright, fine, I'm sorry, I won't do it again." WHAT. WHAT IS THIS TRICKERY. "You know how much love to mess with people. It's how I stay sharp." He sounded insincere, which could mean he was being insincere, being sincere and trying not to sound sincere, or genuinely being sincere and not knowing how to do it because he's a terrible person. He looked over at the sister, gazed into the abyss, noticed the abyss gazing back, and wondered why there were suddenly two Kasias in the backyard.

Kasia is going to have to put shock collars on everyone, that's really where we're at here. Shock collars all around, and she's holding the remote. "Sajin, I don't even know what to do with you right now," she starts with him, and then turns on Yan. "Thank you. Now, keep control of yourself for just... just a little while, let her speak to her family for a little while before you go absolutely insane, okay?" She draws in a deep breath and turns to look at the family that they just met. "We brought you a gift since we arrived so unexpectedly." She holds up the bolt of cloth, real nice, silk like, will make a real pretty dress or two for someone. It fancy. "It's possibly also an apology gift," she adds, shooting a /look/ at the boys.

"Fiance?" The Father stumbles a bit with the word and looks up to Darius. Darius didn't sit, nah, he is gonna stand behind Vasani as SHE sits and places a hand on her shoulder. He is gonna be comforting. He is also gonna watch Sajin randle over to Koyi. Take note of Zhu Yan becoming a little more passive. "Vasan'ilar." The mother says rushing over to squeeze her cheeks, in the same way the woman in the market did. "You have returned to us and brought with you love? A son to add to my family?" Yeah she is the type of mom that is happy to be happy. She reaches up to pinch Darius cheek too. Wow, maternal warmth? This is new to him. The parents turn to Kasia as she presents the gift and their eyes widen. It is too much. Costs way too much. "No, we can't accept this lovely gift. Please, no apology is needed by friends of Vasan'ilar."

"Oh, I have thought about it. The second you both opened your mouths I stopped thinking about it. " Koyi says to Sajin a little annoyed, but trying her best to keep it together. She is keeping her distance from Vasani but it doesn't seem to be in a stand off-ish way. More that she may be the most emotionally put together person in the family right now, even while being harassed by Vasani's 'friends. So she is trying to keep a tab on everything happening.

"Uh yeah!" A weak smile grows on Vasani's face, finally accepting the fact that everything is going to be okay. She definitely relaxes a lot when she feels Darius' touch. "I uh- I dunno where ta start. There's so much ta' tell ya! I... I'm sorry." And with the apology all of the undeserved guilt that Vasani had been placing on herself all these years finally starts to go away. Like Seku in the town, her family could now probably pick up on Vasani's odd accent, one that definitely does NOT come from Ryloth. She's a street rat after all.

Sajin takes a seat, throwing his long legs over the seat before plopping a squat and chucking more grub into his mouth. He closes his eyes and savours. "I don't know what to do with myself besides just eat everything right now. This is so good." At least the UGLY HAPAN is having a good time. He looks to Vas's parents. "Mr. and Mis... ilar... I mean it when I say that Darius picked the right girl and a fine one at that. The best one. Because if I were not wed and she were not to be his I would just..." He makes an obscene hand gesture. "IfyaknowwhatImean." He eats some more. "Man... there's nothing like a Twi'lek girl who is devoted and loyal." He nods in affirmation. He used to be so quiet and kind. Getting beat up by Grom and all the other things must have gotten to him.

"Really, it's not," Kasia assures the family, placing the bolt of fabric back in the bag and then setting it down beside a table. "It's tradition to bring gifts like this anyway, or at least it is with my husband's family, so I'm trying to make good on that tradition." She's not taking no for an answer with the whole gift giving business. She opens her mouth, but then Sajin is speaking and she turns to give him a look again. Not AS mad as before, but there sure is something behind it. Someone might be getting a talking to later.

"Vasan'ilar you never say sorry to us." The father starts firmly but kind. As if the idea of her apologizing breaks his heart again, he is more aware of the 'crowd' she has brought into the home. He watches Sajin silently as he talks and then nods. Penance. This is penance for what they have done. A look to his wife and through the power of love they both agree they will suffer whatever weirdo friends their daughter brings to their home. "I don't yaknowwhatImean, Sajin? Was it? But if you mean our Vasan'ilar is a treasure then I can agree. A treasure that should never been lost or pushed away like it has. " Yep. He is crying again. Silent manly tears. The mother places a hand on the silk and attempts to place her other on Kasia's shoulder. "We thank you. You are married in, so to speak? I'm sure we can talk more, but we humbly thank you."

Darius gently rubs Vasani's shoulder. "I do have great taste Sajin. " He finally gives some eye-contact to the parents taking a good look. An overly friendly mother, a weak limping father, and a very annoyed mini-Vasani. Woah, was that judgement a little harsher than he wanted? Maybe he is getting a wave of they tried to put the woman he is going to marry in slavery. "How about we all dig in ya? Do you guys drink? I think we should get some drinks."

It is when Kasia talks of traditions with Hex's family that Vasani realizes she knows absolutely NOTHING about either of their families. Note to self- be nosy and ask them both for all their personal information later. Because we're friends. "There's so much ta say... Dare's right though. Let's just take this time ta eat some food and be together. We can talk 'bout the hard stuff later." she gives a nod, and starts digging in to a plate of her mother's food. "Oh fuck yes, this is so fuckin' good." She says through a completely full and chewing mouth. No manners. She swallows the food, looking back up to her family. "I missed ya guys." She finally says back to them.

"Yeah, treasure. That's the word right there." Sajin says. He doesn't notice Kasia glaring at him, though maybe he can feel it. He's still way more focused on eating. "Drink? Not very much. But for today? Sure why the hell not." He shrugs.

"Drinks, finally, a word of ryl I understand." The word 'drinks' wasn't ryl but there was enough of the language being thrown around for Yan to be confused, and there was not a single swear word to help him get his bearings. One day he really needed to finish learning that language. If he could learn jawa, he could learn ryl. "Language," he cautioned Vasani, because there were traditions about swearing in front of parents. Usually you get your head slapped.

Kasia smiles at Vasani's mother, inclining her head respectfully. "I was happy to bring it," she assures the woman, and then steps back, looking around. There is food, but she's a lot more wary of the food that's provided in Twi'lek households than the people with her. It's almost killed her before, ok. She does take a few items here and there, though her plate is a LOT lighter than, say, Sajin's, and she settles in with it, quiet, letting the family reunite.

"Drinks? Yes, we-"The Father is cut off as Koyi appears with some bottles of liquor, special event kind of things, she has glasses too.
