Mandalorians: Things We Do For Family

OOC Date: April 28, 2020
Location: Remains of Ilum
Participants: Mandalorian, Zee'Roh Kora, Narsai Ordo, Hadrix Kora, Evie Leven, Kirioth Kora, Karys, Sumi Kora

A micro-jump to safety, thanks to Evie's ace piloting, and the Kyber Heart flashes into existence well outside the ruined graveyard of what used to be the mysterious world of Ilum. Known by generations of Force Users to be a place strong in the Force, it served both orders as a vergeance, and the galaxy's leader in supplying kyber crystals, among other very, very, very, very valuable minerals. Now, the asteroid field glimmers in the wake of an explosion of untold proportion, but the well of gravity has centered and slowed the debris into a dark field. Nothing short of an ace pilot or a force user (who could also fly really well) could navigate it like they just had.

The Mandalorians' task had been monumental in both setting up interdiction beacons to keep the field contained, followed by a maze of mines along the hyperlanes. A very particular IFF was required in order to come out to real space and immediately combust.

With the grunt work over, the crew of hardworking Mandos assembled on the bridge of the Kyber Heart to initiate the activation of the field. It should been a simple matter, but when the signal emitted, nothing indicated that the mines had come to life. The bridge promptly switched to an alert status, with red lights taking over the common lighting.

"What do you mean: /it's not working/?" Sumi growled, staring at a screen both too complex for her to understand or even navigate. She glared at it, wiping her sweat from her brow after hours of grunt work in the cargo bay deploying mines. She stands in a jumpsuit, not her usual beskar'gam, her hair wet with sweat and plastered along her neck and cheeks.

<"I mean it is not working."> Zee'Roh says for the second time as if repeating the phrase might some how make her meaning more clear. Seated at a station over looking the data terminal, she is, as she always is, encased in armor... with the jack running from her wrist computer to the terminal access point, <"I have tried to reenforce the signal, but there is a critical loop interferance that I believe is coming from that-"> pointing out at the field holding the asteroids together in clumps, <"-field. I could probably write up a work around, but it is quite unlikely I will be finishing that /tonight/.">

Huffing out a breath as Karys turns about at the mention of it not working, she steps forward. She lifts her hands to her helmet and drags it off, shaking out shorter hair that is decidedly no longer dark but blonde. She wipes back sweat from her brow and then narrows her gaze. "Do you think its something to do with the connection from the bridge or the actual mines?"

She sets her helmet to her hip, letting it click into place so she can reach out. "I can take a look and make a run through the system to see if there is anything off."

She moves over to a console to run a script of code. She taps out a few more input lines and then frowns. "It appears it is not a system failure on the Heart..the mines are receiving the signal. This is...I can't explain it. Is there a jammer perhaps?" She asks, though for all intents and purposes she seems flabbergasted.

She glances up as Zee comments and she makes a thoughtful sound in the back of her throat.

To say the trip's reveal had been a shock would be an understatement for Narsai. She might not be a Jedi, but she'd walked the surface of Ilum more than once. She'd taken a crystal from the planet and more than one lightsaber repaired or restored by her hand carried a crystal from the world that was now no more. Of course, the thought and concern had crossed her mind in the past, that the 'hidden' world was too easily looted by certain parties who seemed to want to mass-produce the weapon...but the idea of destroying the ancient world had never crossed her mind.

Still, after the initial shock had worn off? The young Ordo leader had fallen into work with the members of clan Kora. In some ways, it was quite nice to get back to her own roots as a mechanic, helping to prep the turrets and mines, check things over and get them ready to launch...which was way that call of a problem had her frowning. Helmet off, the girl's long red hair was pinned up behind her head in its usual bun. Her face was even marred with the small black smudges of grease that had once been almost constant again!

Catching the discussion, there's a frown to her lips. "Who would be out here jamming us?"

Grunt work is the best that Hadrix is for in circumstance such as they have been up to. Now he's hunkered, elbows resting on his knees, hands folded between them. His head is down and the mantras being spoken are bobbing his head. Quiet until he is needed, as if he were a droid in a form of shutdown.

Gripper, meanwhile is quite active. SCOMP attached, limbs collapsed as she gamorean backs on Zee's work, posh accented woman's voice piping in.

"Well, if there is anyone else out here looking for the remains of Ilum it could be First Order, Scavvers, Pirates... No pin down yet." the droid's central eye rotates between Sumi, Zee, Karys and Narsai.

"I can get Big, Dumb and Ugly to go out and take me with, we could try to check from one of the mines itself? If he's feeling up to being more than a sub-human labor-grunt."

<"Shut-up Gripper."> and for a wonder, the droid silences immediately, looking to the Big Mandalorian as he growls.

Speaking of Evie, she's all hands on deck in the cockpit; this is a Job like any other, even if the circumstances are a little different than most of the ones she's gone on with her new family. The difference was, they were in her domain, the Empress was upon her throne, and as such? The helmet was off, her dark hair tied back into a ponytail to keep out of her face, and eyes darting around like a woman posessed.

This wasn't an easy field to navigate for her, and that above all else might be the reason that the pilot isn't making snarky comments or otherwise babbling up a storm -- her full concentration is required to keep up and ensure that they don't end up hitting something... and that nothing ends up hitting /them,/ for that matter.

Roth's dressed in her usual white armor and looking at the field of asteroids. So, she'd missed the memo that a planet had been blown up. <<This is interesting.>> she states in her vocoded tone. Then she's shaking her head as she looks to the others when there is talked of them being jammed, <<Well, it would seem we're not alone...and we don't know what's out there, so this should be fun.>> she states.

"Well, there ain't nothing on the sensors that would indicate jamming. Every jammer I've ever seen works both ways. We can lock onto things, we can send out comms, and our mics ain't all static-y." Sumi says, growling as she holds up the mic and puts it over the loud speaker for all to hear.

"Evie, can you bring us close to one of the mines. I know we'll be caught by the interdictor beacon. Those who have EVA capability will need to head out and scan a few of the mines to see what the rekk is going on."

Sumi walks across the bridge to stand beside Evie (who is seated at present) and crosses her arms. The ship began to move, zipping into a micro-jump. When they emerged, it was too a front screen of moving debris. Thankfully, Evie's quick reaction brought them away from immediate danger.

Search lights lit up a string of floating mines that had strobes of red. Seismic charges had been fed into their shell as a payload, which had the potential to simply atomize a portion of a ship with each explosive field. They were inactive, just as the sensors had indicated.

As the ship came to a slow spiral, the image of glimmering rocks slowly rotated. Without warning, the ship shut off. Everything shut off. The Kyber Heart was dead.

Then.. the mines switched to green all at once. With nothing to stop the Kyber Heart from floundering/drifting forward, the mine field loomed ahead.

<"That's not good."> Zee'Roh says in a voice that doesn't sound as frightened as the situation probably dictates and she's already standing up heading towards the back after retracting the link into her wrist computer. <"I'm going out there to manually deactivate the mines until we get the ship back online."> Just a weather experiment.

She does, however, wait for others who intend to join her to enter the hatch before breaking free into the voids of space outside the ship. What could possibly go wrong, right? Space walk is a go-go.

Glancing over at Narsai then Sumi, Karys frowns and drags a hand up through her bottle blonde hair, causing it to stick up a bit as she spreads her feet to brace for the mini jump. She glances aside at Hadrix, a brow arching as her head tilts while she glances at him. Repositioning herself closer she reaches a hand out and pats his shoulder to speak to him. "You ready to do some more work?" Because it seems like they will have to. Maybe twisting each individual mine to see if its like a string of Christmas lights.

But as they come out and they are positioned just so the shock of the ship shutting down actually causing her lips to part and look around. She did not catch what happened outside the ship and thus seems ready for engagement of an enemy.

Narsai's eyes had drifted, a glance towards Hadrix with a little frown at...something. Maybe she was just worried about his headspace at the moment as others had been. Opening her mouth to say something, instead her breath leaves her in a gasp as the already pale girl suddenly goes considerably paler.

"Something is out there..." she exhales, needing a moment to catch her breath from the shock. Already, there was some aspects of Narsai Ordo that had become a bit of a 'worst kept secret', but whatever she was feeling seemed to overwhelm her usual preference of keeping certain things secret. A breath caught, she looks up towards the cockpit and keys her comlink. << Sumi, Evie something is out there and it's hunting u->> her breath catches again as the ship suddenly blacks out. They were drifting, and they were in trouble.

Already she was moving, headed up to where the pilot sat. "What happened?"

<"Copy, Karys... Time to w-"> Hadrix stops, helmet up, T-visor centered on his old field-mate. <"You're not blonde...">

He is frozen, staring... He even reaches out to pat Karys's hair. One can almost hear the blink at that. <"Why are you blonde?"> slowly looming to his feet, distracted, he rolls his shoulders and looks to Sumi,

<"We need EVA for Karys. She's like Zee, but for electrical equipment like Zee is for hacking, or Evie for flying."> Gripper floats up to grab onto his back and sink down, hooking in for transit.

<"Does anyone else see she's blonde? Or am I insane? I didn't drink today... Did someone slip spice in my cigarra?"> he points at Karys, <"Blonde...">

"Sure thing, vod." Evie replies confidently... but that confidence is shaken when the ship goes black.

A dead ship wasn't a good thing any day of the week. It really wasn't. It wasn't the first time she's seen something like this happen, having had a ton of experience as a test pilot even before her time with the First Order... but even then it was never good.

And those times didn't also involve drifting towards a mine field.

"No, no, no, no. Not today. Not now. Not this ship. Not this crew." she spirals for a moment, before practically leaping out of her chair and running over to perform diagnostic work. There wasn't her normal easy grace to things; there was a certain panic to her movements, now. The kind that nobody among the group has seen before.

"...this isn't right. Everything /should/ be working. We should be flying fine. This..." she stops, and rushes her way back to the seat. Trying the controls even though every /visual/ indicator suggests that they're dormant. She's seen force users do STRANGE things with their mind powers before. She can't discount the possibility that there's one out there.

Roth stops talking and looks up to the ceiling when the lights go out. Well, this escalated quite quickly, or she was just feeling like it had. << I'm heading that way.>> she states as she starts to head for the hatch. A look is given between Karys and Hadrix, << She does seem to be blonde now, yes.>> she tells him. She wasn't sure if he was okay or not, but, she heads after those heading out into the abyss of space to figure out what is going on.

"I don't know. But it wasn't us." Sumi answers Narsai, gesturing between herself and Evie. A moment passes and lifesupport begins to shut down. Sumi kicked her dock-worker boots to life and maglocked herself to the decking. "Oh what the hell is going on now?" Sumi pulls free a shotgun that is slung over the back of the co-pilot's chair. It had begun to drift up in the air because of the lack of gravity.

<<"I have a spare void suit in the cargo hold where the airlock is. Have her take it.. One sec.. ">> "Narsai, are you going with the others or staying in here with us?"

The ship begins to creak as if under some sort of strain. Those who enter the cargo hold find it in pitch dark. That is until an incorporeal being appeared before them, floating like an angel but looking like anything but. Floating white hair held its own light, but its glowing violet eyes and monsterous mouth opened to flash teeth; long arms ending with three talons upon each side rose as the cargo bay began to tremble.

A scream followed, registering so loud it hurt ears within their helmets. Before action could be taken on the being, it vanished from view.

<<"We're getting danger close to these mines. You lot should get outside and push us back some..">> Sumi says, unaware of what's happened below.

<"Seems like an odd time to fixate on her changing her hair."> Zee'Roh says to Hadrix beside her, looking down at her wrist computer, at all the weapons she's carrying as if they'll do much good in the vacuum of space. Aside from her projectile rifle, anyways. An object in motion, stays in motions.

She does, of course, hear all the chatter about something hunting them. <"Casual observation?"> She says to everyone in the shaft with her, preparing to launch them out into space, where they will all likely die. <"We did not start dealing with phantom space anomolies that shut down our ship systems and turn on proximity mines around our slowly orbiting vessel until we started dealing with kriffing Force Users. Which..."> She holds up a finger.

<"I was against. When one of you dies, I will definitely add I told you so to my eulogy.">

She doesn't sound scared though. Zee'Roh doesn't do emotions, good or bad. Fear is just as absent from her as happiness. She's a machine and responds to things accordingly. Even in the face of .. whatever the hell that is. Zee has no need for light, her eyes just adjust to the darkness because she's not weak and feeble like other meatbags. <"That's great, seal that hatch."> Pointing towards the hatch leading further into the ship... soon as it is, she's manually cracking the seals and going out hunting for Space Ghost. Coast to Coast if need be.

"Yes, Hadrix. I have blonde hair. That can happen." The other ex-vanguard watches her squad mate with some brief bemusement before the task at hand must be focused on. Karys is going to need a moment or two but years of putting on armor makes an efficient creature. Armor set aside she is slipping into the void armor and dusting back her newly colored hair she tugs the helmet into place. It seals with a hiss and she makes after the others and the hatch to join the others. A simple thumbs up is given to Zee and so when the seal breaks with the hatch closed behind them she grasps at the side of the ship to help direct herself.

There is a certain giddiness that overtakes her and once almost hear the faint nervous laugh once the weightlessness of space takes over in the vast emptiness of space.

"I'll do what I can from here," Narsai speaks, reaching the bridge as Sumi offers orders questions alike in the cockpit. Her movement through the space, even without the ease of gravity to assist her. Of course, she had maglock boots, but there was plenty of practice in the weightless movement. Settling behind the seats, she does note Evie's comment with a little chuckle clearly a product of humor under stress. "We -are- at the ruins of an ancient Jedi world..." she points out, glancing to Sumi for a moment of consideration before she closes her eyes.

"Just let me see if...." the redhead begins, attempting to reach out with that very same Force that Evie was cursing the name of. Perhaps she planned to try protecting the ship, or had some fancy way to try and re-power it, but whatever she had planned? It's halted with a gasp and a stagger as if she'd been punched in the chest.

"There's something on the ship down below with the others!" she speaks, already turning toward the hatch and reaching for her helmet. "How much time have we got?"

<"I'm not used to it!"> Hadrix retorts, staring at Karys through his visor, bionic pulsing and causing a slow heart beat glow visible on the other side for others to see.

And then they're seeing... Horrible monsters and shrieking. Shrieking that gets past the audial buffers and almost puts him to his knees before the affects on his mind sink in their claws and he scrabbles to find his blaster.

He almost fires. Right off, no thought, but he freezes with his blaster up. The big man is rigid save for the quick movement of his lips and his head bobbing with them.

<"Chaab mirshe'kyramla te'kih kyr'am gotal'ur ori'kyr'am"> Hard breaths, old mnemonics. Reptition, <"Chaab mirshe'kyramla te'kih kyr'am gotal'ur ori'kyr'am"> the rasp and growling voice growing feral with each utterance.

"We're about ten minutes from becoming so much space dust, Narsai." Evie replies, chewing on her lower lip. Considering. Thinking. Trying to decide what she can do. They're drifting. She can fly anything with an engine. Right now, the Kyber Heart doesn't have a (working) one. Which means... "Worse comes to worse, some of us may just have to get out there and use our /packs/ to give the ship momentum in the /right/ direction." Which is any direction but the one they're going, right now.

Roth's not used to seeing white floating things that aren't herself. BUT. She isn't /THAT/ messed up looking. <<GODS. What in the Galaxy is THAT thing!>> she states as she grips the pommel of her Beskad. Ready to slice and dice if needed. <<Anyone got a spare bell? I bet it'll stop sneaking up and scaring the kriff out of other groups that might come here in the future.>> she states.

This is where Roth is internally screaming. Fucking Space Wizards and their weird jobs! << So, we're going to go into the out now and get it, yes?>> she asks the others.

The void is dead silent, save for what each Mando hears in their helmet (breathing, comms, etc.) Exiting the ship, they find that the Kyber is slowly rotating, the light from a distant star casting eerie shadows over the hull from the countless billions of crystal rocks. The hull of this medium freight is about 76 yards long and roughly 40 yards wide, at its widest. At the bow, the green-lit mines are closing; and everyone will likely realize the only reason the mines have not triggered yet, is because the KH is not transmitting a sensor signal, I.E. thanks space ghost!!

At the stern of the ship, near the engines, the Starweird appears again, lifting its arms to cast an effect on the ship.

The Mandos outside have a choice. Fight the Starweird.. or stop the ship from heading to the mines.

Zee'roh walks towards the open hatch of the ship with the clank of her magnetic boots stomping against the deck plates until she reaches the edge. One hand goes out along the hydrolic lift, slipping herself though and out onto the hull proper where her brightly colored armor glitters majestically in the eerie glow of the nearby sun. Obviously, she sees the space ghost over there, but she also sees that the ship, and all of its crew, are hurtling dangeorusly close to one of those mines..

So, without much consideration as to her coarse of action, she bends at the knees and pushes off.. releasing her maglocks, when her legs fully extend. Turning her body to present her armored shoulder at the slowly rotating back end of the ship, she fires her rockets and slams back against the hull with a reverberating CLANK that is devoured by the void of space.

Except for the pulsating blasts of her rockets with each thruster burn that is very clearly slowing, but not yet stopping, the tail spin death roll towards certain destruction. All with a level head and calm, go get'em attitude.

The scream leaves a lasting shudder as Karys makes sure to grab at the side of the ship. She has no rocket pack at present but looks like she might reach out to grasp for Hadrix. That is up until she sees the Starweird appear. <"Kriff...!"> Agasping cry sounds out as she turns about and slams her feet into the side of the hull with a pulling of her knees to her chest inverted in orientation to the Kyber her maglocks secure her in place as her pistols lift and she takes aim.

<"I can not help. move the ship but I can help try to be rid of what ever this thing is."> The comlink jumps with her voice as she feels the ship start to shudder and turn. Those are not the engines as there is no hum to be felt through the hull. That has to be ...Zee'Roh.

<"Target hit three times.">

<<"Ten minutes,">> Narsai calls back in confirmation, then she's already running towards the Cargo bay. Blaster fire rings out, someone was shooting away at the horror her eyes fix on and go wide behind the T-Visor. That was some Nightmare fuel and then some, but not time to think about that!

Setting fires inside a ship near a minefield was probably a bad idea, so even as she reaches for the hidden holster of her weapon the redhead thrusts her hand out towards the creature and the air ripples...but it's not quite enough to seize and harm the creature. Narsai was a Mandalorian, not some trained Jedi Knight!

<<"Karys, we're going to talk about hair later...">> He wants to shoot. It's imperative he must. But there is something that clicks in the back of his head, <<"You have this, I trust you.">> he takes the time to reach for Karys's shoulder pad before his cape is blown out like the wings of some beast of campfire tale by the burst of his jets, carrying him to a point parallel to Zee.

Boots locking with a heavy THUNK heard within his own suit, if nowhere else, his thrusters flare, in similar form and fashion to his Vod. Working with her adjustments, using Gripper relaying data to coordinate thrust to halt the ship's movement finally.

<<"Reading zero inertia, confirm?">>

"C'mon, baby. I know you're new to the family. I know. You don't know how well we treat our ships. You probably know me, even. You can probably /smell/ the TIEs on me. Trust me, gorgeous, I'll treat you well, just wake up for me and get us out of here, okay?" Evie talks to the ship. Quite literally trying to sweet-talk the Kyber Heart back to life. She's not crazy. She just really, really loves starships.

Oh crap, Roth wasn't a gone user, but, she cool Rocketeer halfway decently. She gives a little boost to her jetpack and glides up to help Zee and Hadrix with things. She puts her shoulders into it. It's a few moments that pass before they are starting to push the Kyber Heart back! << It's moving!>> she seems excited not to have her family blown to tiny bits this evening!

The Kyber Heart has come to a stop. Both Sumi and Evie can see the Mandalorians outside the bridge canopy. When Roth joins the Ruus'alor and Al'Verde, the ship begins to back track. From in the bridge, Sumi lights a smoke, shivering from the cold air. The windows were beginning to frost. "R-r-r-r-rekking cold up in here..." Her teeth chatter, but she puts the smoke between her lips, ignoring Evie's chat with the ship (or rather dismissing it). Evie talked to ships, Sumi talked to strippers. Shrug.

Outside, the Starweird released a mental scream that penetrated the minds of all organics 'outside' in the void. It turned on Narsai, feeling her influence of the force and its eyes turned red. Rag laiden arms swing out, striking the FS Mando, and its 15ft tall frame moved toward Karys next, hulking above her menacingly.

Key word:

Organics.

Zee'Roh is not.

Plus the ship is safe.. so while she /hears/ screaming, she does not acknowledge that as any more than something which her helmet is filtering out. <<"Alright. Ship is backing away from the explosives...">> The Ruus'alor turns, locks her boots against the hull, and whips her DL-44 off her leg in a smooth motion to fire off several shots at the weird space spirit.

The ship turns and so does Karys and thus needing to keep her angle on the strange deep space entity one can hear her THUNK THUNK THUNK of her steps as her maglocs secure and release with each heavy step she takes. As the creature reaches out for Narsai who is suddenly at the aft she hesitates and goes still, her pistols sweeping up as she tightens her grip. The first heavy shot from the 54 misses but the theed arms releases two successful hits.

The ship slows and now she stares up at the fifteen foot creature that is currently on its way towards her. The scream is enough to give her knees a bit less strength as her legs shake. <"Hit but its still not down!">

Thankfully there are going to be more guns to help as she catches sight of Zee out of the corner of her eye.

Ever know when someone or something hated you? Really HATED? Narsai could feel it as much as she could see it when the creature rushed her, its claws raking at her armor and blow impacting hard enough to bruise. It stung, but it was far from enough to stop the woman.

<<"Hell with this,">> She mutters, her attempt at a more 'mystical' solution failing in favor of something more direct. The moment the critter's attention shifted to Karys? Her beskar hilt errupted in a suprise draw-ignite-cut, slicing into the thing. The next two? It saw her coming, but there was some vicious satisfaction in inflicting some harm on the thing!

<<"Copy.">> One can practically hear him sweating as he grits his teeth against the screaming. Growling as he turns, speaking again to fast for Gripper to kill his comms, <<"Chaab mirshe'kyramla te'kih kyr'am gotal'ur ori'kyr'am">> breath sucked in.

The E-11 comes up and the hail of crimson bolts surge soundlessly across the distance, briefly connecting Hadrix to the creature, stitching a pair of blaster scores in its corpus.

As lights start coming up on the ship, Evie's moving like a woman possessed. Smiling to herself and to the ship as well. "Thanks, doll." she offers -- speaking to the Kyber Heart more than any of her actual humanoid companions. Her hands, meanwhile, are going straight to work on the Get The Kriff Out Of Danger plan, because she wants to protect her family and protect the ship that she's trying to bond with. Especially if she's going to potentially get one very similar to it.

Roth's never heard anything shriek like that. Maybe the Banshee's on Umbara, maybe that's why she is suddenly aware of this creepy thing being near them. The Beskad gets swung first and then the vibrosword whips around her head and down. Space Shivving Ballet should be a thing. It really should. << I think I made it mad.>> she laughs. Oh boy.

The Kyber Heart's red impulse engines come to life all at once, and vents along its belly come online. The ship is like putty in Evie's hands as it begins to back-track at full throttle. The others see the ship rotating into a more controlled spin now as debris and space rocks come in close but are avoided thanks to the sensor read-out and piloting reaction of the Ace on the bridge.

The ship moving has no effect on the crew outside though. They get to witness Evie's awesome from outside.-- Unfortunately, they also witness what's to follow as the Starweird takes flight after being struck a series of times by blasters, swords, and lightsabers alike.

Its target: Zee’Roh, the only showing resilience unlike the others. It flies right into Zee'Roh, and /DISAPPEARS/ into her body, not emerging or showing any trace of itself again. The result of this collision and mysterious circumstance begins to reveal itself. Narsai can feel that the threat has passed.

"Got damn, girl. You know how to fly. I didn't even know this ship could move like this.. haha.." Rattles off Sumi, whose teeth are still chattering. <<"Yall get inside. We're getting the hell out of here. The mines are set. Lord Kuolo will be pleased..">>

Zee'Roh isn't watching the flying, she's watching the space ghost and firing at it like a mad woman possessed until it disappears directly through her armor... For a second she's just staring down at her own chest, brow furrowing behind her T-Visor waiting for it to reemerge..

Then her head twitches.

Helmet jerking to one side in a way that definitely isn't natural anatomically and there's a automated buzzing-whistling-crackle coming across comms, originating from her helmet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTX1lI8COuQ

When it stops, so does all communications.. her boots are locked to the hull, but her body flops backwards against it with a rhythmic clank... clank... clank... of her helmet bouncing off the durosteel without any indication of life.

Which could be her screwing around... until her DL-44 releases from her hand and slowly starts to move away from her listless open palm.

Clank... clank...

Karys attention follows the creature, eyes widening within the reflective helmet as it connects with Zee and just...disappears. The cluck of her maglock boots bring her about to get a look at the other woman and she goes still, as if prepared to see it emerge from somewhere, pistols ready until Zee suddenly flops and she loses hold of her gun.

Shoving he weapons into her holsters she starts her way. CLICK CLUNK CLICK CLUNK. Karys is crossing the hull towards her with her own boots guiding her towards the other.

<"We need some help here. Something is wrong."> But she grunts, keeping hold of Zee as she reaches down to disengage her boots. Arm sliding around the HRD's middle as she tugs her close and begins to backstep with her in arm.

The ship moving again was a blessing, but Narsai's attention was fully focused on the 'Starwierd'. They'd hurt it and she had every intention of trying to finish the damn thing off before it could wound them or the ship again!

Unfortunately, fast as the girl with the glowing sword was...she wasn't quick enough. The thing zips into Zee'Roh and...breaks her. She felt the thing leave, but damage was done.

Her saber deactivates, quickly holstered at her bracer while she rushes towards Zee'Roh. Did she -know- the girl was non-organic? Narsai had never said anything, but none the less she reaches out a hand to rest against the HRD's chest. <<"C'mon...">>

Was it going to be like healing a person or charging a blaster pack? She had no idea as she attempt to -will- her energy into Zee'roh.

Seeing Zee falling back, Hadrix's first response is to fire thrusters - which nearly rips his boots from his feet, which would have broken his suit seals. But biting the tab to detach and close the distance the big mando swings to grab hold of Karys's cuirass while Gripper goes to retrieve Zee's blaster.

<<"Hold onto her. I have you both.">> giving the now BLONDE woman... helmet or no, time to brace... then Narsai is there, and he holds, locking his boots again to help brace, waiting for the OK to move with them.

"You've got to know how to sweet talk a ship in order to make her dance properly, Sumi." Evie replies, her lips curving up into a grin. Mission accomplished, danger evaded, she's more than ready to leave her past behind her and enjoy the life she and her family have /earned/ together. She'd have to try and figure out just what the cause of the ship's malfunction was -- and see if she can't find a way to defend the ship against later malfunctions in case they end up facing a... whatever that was... again.

Putter. Putter. Putter. Roth's coming! <<Oh kriff. What did that thing do to Zee?!>> she seems to be worried as she rockets back up to help with things. She's not the most nurturing of folks but she knows when family is hurt and well, that doesn't sit right with her. The alabaster Arkanian goes silent as they get Zee'roh in and there's a bit of a grunt that comes through the vocoder as she gets the hatch door shut while Hadrix offloads folks. She didn't think she could help with seeing what was wrong.

Once everyone was inside, and the all clear given, the Kyber Heart leaps into the distant stars; gone in a flash, leaving only a twin path of red contrails before even that faded, and silence prevailed.
