Right of Justice

OOC Date: August 3, 2019
Location: CRS Right of Justice
Participants: Kasia Ashkuri, David Ironside, Merek, Sajin, Dyannah Nerus, Grom, Nova Korell, Narsai Ordo, Aryn Cole

The shuttle the team is on is being piloted by David Ironside, and Co-Piloted by Nova Korell. On weapons is Dyannah Nerus, and everyone else is strapped into the back personnel hold beneath the hue of a red light. The ride is immediately bumpy as the shuttle, in pursuit of the Sector Ranger cruiser 'Right of Justice' has to match its speed and trajectory before it can even dip below its shields, a complicated maneuver only the Ace pilots of the galaxy can pull off.

The first attempt is a botch, and the entire ship shakes, its engines squealing in protest and sparks flying from various terminals, shorting out. The second attempt is seasoned and finesse, sliding beneath the barrier of the shield so that the shuttle can fly along the massive exterior hull. Search lights are turned on along the ventral belly of the shuttle trying to locate the hangar hatch locks. Dyannah has spooled up the laser cannons just as the hatch locks are found. The ship rattles as red lanced slower than light cannon bolts smash into the first lock, then the second, showering bits of flowing debris in the cruiser's wake.

The hatch is opened, and it vents the interior of the hangar. The crew in the control cabin witness slow moving bodies, cargo containers, and small HLAF fighters tumble from the interior, but both pilots know they have a limited amount of time to get inside the cruiser before it's too late.

The first approach sees a cargo container bounce off the shuttle, shattering its shields and setting off an alarm about a malfunction to landing gear. The next approach is textbook, the engines glowing bright blue and leaving contrails, testimony to the speed required to not only stay in pace with the cruiser, but pivot into the ship. Getting inside immediately reveals that they've come in too hot and the shuttle strikes the deck hard. Everyone inside can hear the terrible metal upon metal scraping as they skip across the surface of the hangar bay and slide right into the wall, creating an explosion of sparks in the control cabin and personnel hold. Darkness takes the vessel as the power shuts off. Outside, the massive hangar bay doors shut to the void, and there's silence.

Aryn's shoulder lamp comes on in the personnel hold. She's hanging from what's presently the ceiling, but had been the starboard bulkhead. Her shuttle seat strap has kept her firmly in place, but she can't reach the quick release. "Ugh..Is everyone alright?" She coughs, finding her small knife to begin cutting the strap. It gives with little warning and she lands hard below.

"I have some regrets," Kasia informs those that are strapped in the back with her, eyes first wide and worried, and then squeezed shut when things begin to really rattle, and shake. They don't open again -- becaues them being open changes nothing -- until the ship has finished it's unpleasant, too hard landing inside the hangar. "I'm going to be feeling this for weeks," she informs Aryn softy, likewise having to cut herself out of her straps, which releases her with a similarly hard landing. She grunts, and then groans, and slowly sits up. "Is everyone else alive? Are we alive? I hope this isn't the afterlife because, honestly, this would be disappointing if so."

David, having shielded his eyes with his hand out of reflex, even with a blast visor -on- his helmet, shakes his head as if to un-disorient himself. Turning to Nova, he moves to a position where he'd land on his feet, or as close to it as possible. When he unclasps the straps holding him to the chair, he falls to the side of the ship, feet thumping down on a blown out control board. As soon as he steadies his footing, he moves to help Nova down as well, if she needs the help.

Merek has put on his smuggling gear, while he settles back onto the seat he's at. He then feels as the ship is shifted about, then he blinks a bit as well. He then takes a moment to make his way from the straps, while he settles about also.

Sajin was a busy king this week. Get shor up on corellia, take a bacta bath on tatooine and then play space marine with the right of justice. Somehow Sajin ended up with his legs over his head. His hand comes up in a simple thumbs up before he attempts to untangle himself

The zeltron clocks the ships movements and fires the lasers on the mark. Dyannah imagines the sound of the wrenching tear and explosion that tore the doors off of the hangar through the silence of space.

"Boom," she whispers to herself with a sideways glance at the ship captain. <That's two on and we are in."> she reports. The ship bucks under some of the backlash of the explosions - they are that close. The ballet of death that they witness as the hangar vents finds the Zeltron shutting down her empathy to shield from the last moments of the crew that have been thrown into space. They are that close. Their full slide to the back of the hangar has her braced against impact. Alarms ringing and the aux boards lit with emergency lights and secondary systems coming on line.

The full fright of what they just accomplished, inserting themselves into the belly of a hostile ship, begins to wash over Dyannah. The rose of her face visible under the black helmet blanches for a moment as she unbuckles herself ready to join the boarding party. She is lightly armored, more equipped for surveillance than protection against heavy fire. It's a choice. Blaster in hand she rises from her seat to follow the others.

"GROM IS ALIVE," the massive Houk in heavy powered armor and even heavier weapons, wedged into the back declares cheerfully. "It is good that the starship CHEERS FOR US WITH SUCH ENTHUSIASM," he states entirely too loudly, as the contents of the shuttle rattle in a hard landing.

It's a good landing if you can walk away from it... or at least be carried, right? Because that has to be the worst landing Nova's ever assisted in, and it was just as bad in the cockpit as in the passenger bay. Maybe worse, because she could see every second of it, from the lunge into the docking bay to the sudden backwards slide across it, follows by the shuttle tipping on its side. Sparks are still falling from an exploded monitor that was formerly overhead. The rest of the displays seem to be dead, along with most of the controls.

And she's hanging sideways in her seat, her gear belt tangled with the jammed safety harness. "Dave, can you help me cut these straps?" she says, trying to pull herself free. "I'm getting the shoulders..."

She does, and suddenly ends up hanging /upside-down/ from the seat. No problem, just unlatch the gear belt and untangle the mess later... and that's when she lands on what used to be the left side panel of the cockpit, her feet still trapped by the belts and her armor's lower half. Lying there in her white athletic briefs, she sighs and takes stock of the situation. "Okay... looks like the shuttle's main power is DX'ed. So we either take back this ship, or we likely won't get the chance to walk home. Guess we'd better go introduce ourselves, huh?"

An occasional spark showers the personnel hold, but for now the only light comes from Dr. Cole's shoulder lamp. The ship is on its side, and the only way out is at the ship's stern, where the massive Houk is. As he appends himself from whatever temperary niche he made for himself back there, the back hatch falls off. It falls OFF. It falls the KRIFF OFF, and clatters aloud on the deck, echoing in the emptiness that is the hangar.

The Crew has a way off the shuttle onto solid decking, but once out there, they realize just how rekking cold it is. Those without facemasks or atmospheric helms can see their breath. Anyone wearing sensor capabilities on their armor are alerted to the sudden and rapid approach of entities coming from the main ship corridor.

Under the hue of emergency lighting, 10 armored Sector Rangers storm the landed vessel, only these aren't Sector Rangers anymore. Their voices are distant, gargled, and full of rage.

"KIIIIIILLLLLL! CONSUME!!" They scream! Our heroes have a split second to react despite their disorientation.

Kasia isn't exactly steady on her feet when they leave the ship, but she manages to disembark without falling over. So that's a plus. "Oh stars," she sucks in a breath, then exhales it in a cloud of visible breath. "It is cold in here." The complaint is issued softly to the group at large as she makes her way forward. The shriek to kill makes her halt, startled, and she turns to fire at the first sign of movement that isn't in her group. The shot is good, and the blaster bolts land a lethal blow, not that she has any time to enjoy it because these things... whatever they are, leap at her and tackle her from behind. "AAAAAAAA," is her first reaction to the situation, thrashing to try and shake loose her attacker that leaves claw marks through the derriere of her armor, and in the poor flesh below. "Someone get this off me!"

David stumbles out of the hatch awkwardly, given that there's no ramp, no HATCH and a very eager welcoming committee that's already busily greeting the ones who went before him. He pulls his blaster pistol from his belt as his foot touches the floor, turning it in the direction of the mean and frankly unnecessary words being yelled in this group's direction. He squints his eyes almost shut, still getting used to the light of non-total darkness, and obviously his shot does nothing but call attention to himself. He feels around his other side with his unoccupied hand, confirming his force pike is still there, should it become necessary.

Merek makes a way to follow with the others, while he notices the creatures coming to them. He then draws his pistol, which he does, then one of them takes the guy to the floor, while his torso is bitten into, entire pieces taken with those bites, there was probably also a few bones as well that the others can see were taken with the skin. He shouts, best he can as well.

Sajin doesn't have much time to react to the plethora of being his helm sensors pick up before he is charged by one. He raises his biwcaster im one hand and blasts the thing across tue hanger. The second one misses.

Feeling them before they actually come screaming into the hold at least prepares Dyannah for the onslaught. She squeaks a warning to her dismay, clears her throat to try for something a little more coherent but they are on them before she can utter a word. Around her crew is hit, the flash of blaster fire making her see after images. Twice she drills one of the attackers but winging her adversary - still, it comes on.

Grom pries himself loose, and the hatch falls off with a clatter. There is a one-beat pause, and the Houk tries (and fails) not to sound embarrassed as he announces, "Grom has found the door. Cough." Yes, he says the word 'cough' rather than actually coughing. Then there are howled shouts, which Grom returns cheerfully: "YES, Grom agrees! KILL. CONSUME. Grom will enjoy this negotiation, one moment while Grom consults my assistant," he decides, adding a dent to the already ruined shuttle in rearing back with his axe. He is distracted by Kasia's shriek, abruptly turning to lumber toward the human pinned under an evil human, with Grom's own attacker clinging to his armored back and gnawing harmlessly on the Houk's armor. "SECRET- SLAPPING HUMAN. Remain very still-" he advises Kasia, as she is being nearly murdered by an unthinking murder man. Kasia's assailant is splattered across the deck with a swing of the axe. "You see, Grom called you Secret Slapping Human.. Because... not all know that you slap things. That is why Grom began to say 'Secret'. That and NO OTHER REASON."

As he talks, that one clinging Sector Ranger is still biting ineffectually at Grom's armor. The Houk looks to have forgotten about it.

And now the back hatch has fallen open... this is just her night, huh? Nova is busy for several seconds freeing her armor from the safety harness, which gives her plenty of time to feel the incoming draft from the ship outside. By the time she's gotten it free, she can hear screaming and weapons fire from outside. "Frell..." she mutters, scooping up the gear and hurrying for the hatch. Which is really more of a large window, since the edge doesn't meet the deck outside. She gets there just in time for a frenzied ex-Sector Ranger to slam into the plating below (beside?) the opening in an attempt to claw her. "Oh, not /this/ again..." she mutters, lifting her carbine and smashing two shots through it. It hits the deck, twitching and going still. "Be outside in a sec!" she promises the crew outside, bracing her weapon on the rim of the hatch and preparing to provide some covering fire.

Aryn emerges from the ship amidst the sudden chaos of an attack. She's immediately put on the defensive, and instinctively steps aside as her opponent stumbles through the air it's managed to grab. Holding her weapon now in a practiced stance, Aryn circles. The entity charges her and she does not hesitate. She twists, placing her back to it and flips her sword to pike behind her. The entity runs upon the blade impaling itself. Aryn's helmet begins to emerge from her collar, folding into place over her head, face, and sealing in place with a hiss, the coverings for her eyes turning a luminescent purple hue. Aryn grunts as she draws the sword free from her opponent and twists brilliantly to its flank, appending its leg in a single slash that spills it to its back, leaving it to crawl ineffective. She remembers Captain Pava's technique then. <"Remove their legs, make them incapable of chasing!"> Aryn moves away, tempted to slide her weapon home and free her lightsaber. It was not needed yet. Not yet. <"Someone help Merek!">

Around the team, the rangers have swarmed. SIX still remain, with four occupied on the ground, incapacitated.

This is deeply unpleasant, and is going to make the ride back pretty uncomfortable, but Kasia has had worse happen and she tries to remember that while hollering and trying to strike the thing that's behind her. Grom says to go still, and knowing him and his weapons well, she freezes as best she can until she feels the thing on her back stop moving. There's just a beat spent exhaling, and then she turns to shove the rest of it off of her. "Thank you, Grom. I appreciate you letting people know I slap, and for killing that." Another beat, and then she goes up onto her knees to aim her blaster at one of them rushing by. PEW. PEW. Only one of the pews land, not enough to stop it, but enough to hurt it. That's something. With that done she then tries to get back to her feet again, slowly, hissing with pain as she moves.

David knocks himself on the helmet, peering around at the carnage going on. He takes a knee and aims at the one Ranger who's busy trying to further mechanize Merek, and takes aim. His blaster shot sounds disturbingly loud in the near-empty hangar, blowing the arm off of it. "Get out of there, Black!" he calls out, retreating to a less 'come and murder me instead' position with his back against the downed and upturned shuttle.

Merek lifts up his pistol while he takes three clean shots. Though with the nice situation, the fact he's being eaten upon as well, he can't do a lot, and he switches his toggle on the weapon while he tries to back up, making his way to cover with blood rolling from him onto the floor also. He is trying to avoid it generally.

Sajin growl and rebounds raising his bowcaster and sending two bots soamming into one of the entities. He lets the bocaster drop and goes for his ryyi blade, pulling it. "Drek this poodoo. Time to Grom style."

There is a strange snap and shrivel followed by a smell of heat. Dyannah's vision goes white for a moment as she stumbles less from the impact than a drop in blood pressure. "Goddess of mercy, frell, that hurts," she gasps as her attacker staggers and comes on at her. Two more shots prove that every little bit counts. Smiling through gritted teeth she leans against the bulkhead for just a moment looking down at her adversary.

Grom hears the little doctor call for removing legs and helping... someone? "WHICH MAMMAL IS CALLED MARK?" Looking around in confusion as a pair of foremen attack him without any success. The big idiot is very difficult to injure. He informs one of the Sector Rangers, "GROM WILL CALL YOU MARK." He rears back to smite Mark, but that forgotten Ranger on his back has managed to climb and claw up until its torso covers his eyeslots, blinding the Houk and leading to him flailing wildly with the deadly vibroaxe. "GROM IS BLIND," he declares in alarm.

Weapon braced on the hatch rim, Nova opens fire again, pumping a 3-round burst into one of the frothing, mad-eyed ex-Rangers. Well, two of those three shots, anyway. At least the number of those things is slowly declining.

Emerging from behind the others, Narsai moves into action as the monsters come out. She'd not seen these things again, not since the ship till now. Her features were hidden by her helmet, expression shrouded, but her blaster pistol blasts with the same accuracy none the less. Two bolts from the Mandalorian drop her mark, but she's already aiming for the next.

Aryn has spaced a bit from the group when she witnesses David freeing Merek from his certain demise. Relieved to see it, but still alert, the young Doctor's view is blocked suddenly by another attacker. She raises her weapon as it charges at her, growling. When it passes by, she's stepped aside, trading a blow while leaving its intended attack ineffective. It loses its arm as a result. She charges then, dragging her sword up from her lower right to slice diagonally upward across its left leg. The result spills the entity to the ground, ineffective. She turns to look to the group then, her shoulders rising and falling with heavy breaths.

The fight has died down some, but the threat is still there. They're still within the massive hangar, and haven't made any progress to reaching the bridge. A glance to her chrono reveals that they have a hour to reach their goal and adjust this vessel's course, or they die with the millions upon that station.

One entity remains up, and it's attacking Kasia Ashkuri, or trying too. She's not making it easy.

Kasia retreats a couple of steps, trying to remain near-ish to Grom. Not too near, because Grom has an axe and she's well aware of how wildly he can flail that thing at times. "I'm going to have to get this armor repaired again. Again," she complains more to herself than to anyone else, but even as she says it there's something coming at her again. She moves faster than one might expect her to, twisting off to the side to avoid the attempted attack, then turning to fire her blaster at the thing as it moved past. Two shots, and this time both are good, taking the last one down.

David, now free from immediate attack, slumps against the shuttle and sinks to the ground. He's clearly out of practice, for all his trick shooting and whatnot. Gathering his wits, he stuffs his gun back in the holster and rises, leaving the clasp undone. Surveying the scene, he heads over to whoever looks wounded and unattended to, lending a hand where he's wanted. Merek leans back a bit upon a wall, while he takes a moment to shift his pistol about a bit, then he nods to Dave, "Thank you," he says, then he sighs while he takes a look to see if any medics are about as well.

Sajin is only half way through draeing his massive ryyk blade when he notices all yhe space zombies are dead. "Shavit... ahh well..." He sraws the blade the rest of the way and stays weary. He also checks his wounded shoulder.

Still slumped against the bulkhead Dyannah breathes deeply, eyes closed as she tries to manage the pain and not get herself killed through inattention. A shadow looms over her and the zeltron opens her eyes in a panic only to find the serious face of the doctor next to her. The medpac that Aryn carefully applies does its magic, numbing her wound, allowing her to come back to her immediate surroundings.

"Thanks, Doc," she says nodding deeply. "Well," pushing herself upright, "here we go!"

Grom whirls around when the clinging foe flies clear, shot off by one ally or another. He spins again, looking for more enemies, but finding none. He begins to relax, before abruptly spinning again, axe raised with a shout of "AH HA-" as if expecting another event. "-Oh, there are no more. WHERE IS BRIDGE? Grom will find more foes on way to bridge. With luck, SOME MIGHT BE WORTHY." The Houk promptly begins lumbering off in the direction he expects a bridge to be waiting in.

"Well, this day just got a lot worse," Nova comments, checking the charge level in her weapon. "Better police those takedowns, make sure they don't get back up and come after us again. I'll give you a hand as soon as I get my... I mean, get out of this shuttle," she amends hastily, sidestepping out of view to get the rest of her armor back on.

"Fire," Narsai comments, already holstering her blaster before she moves up towards her slumped targets. Flicking the arming trigger of the flamethrower on her wrist, she moves up towards the foe she'd downed and then the others in turn. "Last time that kept them down. If anyone has something similar, make use of it. The flamers don't have a bottomless tank."

Our crew presses out from the hangar and moves up the cruiser's main corridor, a wide arrangement that has tall ceilings and many doorways. Transparisteel provides a glimpse of each passing room. Some are empty cells and interrogation chambers, some are holding cells. One in particular is a medical bay that has filled completely with water somehow, and inside.. decaying bodies linger aimlessly 'floating'. As they pass by it and the light flickers inside the bay, a submerged human body begins to pount on the door despite being well past the stage of decomposition. Something moves beneath its flesh like a liquid, making its expressions move and body parts move.

Passing the medical bay, our heroes stumble upon lift. Opening its door reveals a small crowd of former sentient entities, and they all turn about to look at our heroes who stand outside the lift. Our heroes have a choice to make: Fight the 10 entities stumbling from the lift chamber, or take the long way.

The group moves, and Kasia limps along with them, the rakes on her backside might have some bandages covering them, but it all still throbs with each step. They pass the medical bay with the water, and the animated corpse, and she pauses for a few beats to simply stare at it. "I don't want to know how it is these things are made, but they clearly should be stopped," she remarks to whoever is nearest to her. "I am going to have nightmares about that." They move on and head toward hte lift, finding themselves confronted with enemies. A lot of enemies. She doesn't hesitate to raise the blaster that has never left her hand, and fire off a couple of shots right into trunk of one of these sentient beings. "How many of these things are there?" she asks, like anyone here is going to have that answer.

"Too many." is the answer David provides ANYWAY. He's put his blaster away and pulled out a force pike, of which he's turning the dial up to 11 at the moment. The weapon produces a slight hum, and when one of the dead-but-not-dead people lunges towards him, all he can do is stab the pike at the erratically moving being, though he misses. "Not good." he comments under his breath.

Merek makes his way with the ohers when Cole has patched up his bite, then he looks as more are coming from the lift, blaster shifted so he can point it to them, then he takes a few shots, striking them. One is on the floor, while he shifts his position also.

Sajin doesn't have to charge forward. Only waiy for the undead to come towards them. He hefts his big blade up and cleaves. A head gets lobbed off but the body keeps comming. Sajin grunts as he swings again but the unpredictable movements of a headless body ate hard to follow and the thing is too quick.

When the turbo lift opens it's all the horror holos she had studiously avoided as a teenager rolled into one. Horror films, not being exactly contraband but frowned on for their lack of zeltron ethics. Her mouth drops open and without hesitation she fires into the group, wounding one.

Grom happily groms along with the others, hearing only a fraction of what Kasia had to say of the biological horrors she beholds. "Nightmares? Hurm! Perhaps it is because if what you are eating before your sleep time. Grom advises more meat! Meat settles the stomach, because the stomach is also made of meat, and being with it's own kind is calming. THIS IS SCIENCE." When the lift reveals a fresh Horde or rotten foes, the Houk declares, "SECOND CHANCE," and messily bisects one of the charging mostly-corpses.

Little ship, little ship of HORRORS... Nova makes up the tail, keeping an eye on the doors and corridors as they pass by. The Aquarium of Undead gets a grimace; she's seen worse, but it's still more than a little disturbing. She's just used to keeping her lid on. "I'll be so glad when whatever this is falls into a convenient black hole someplace..."

But now there's a lift, and a choice to make... oh, but not. The lift inevitably fails, and now they get to blast their way past more of these things. Joy. Seeing one coming after Dyannah, Nova takes it down with a well-placed shot, then opens fire on one just coming out of the lift. She hits it once. It's like some unwritten law of the universe, or at least its shoddy framework. "Just keep shooting! They've got nowhere to go but forward!"

And right into them. Joy, Take Two.

The sudden rush of attacking foes leaves Aryn to make a choice. Her sword is slid home in a single fluid action, and her gloved hand removes a small dull grey hilt from her belt. Entering a focused state and balanced stance despite the chaos around them, Aryn activates the lightsaber, bringing it to life with a SNAP-HISS of brilliant sapphire energy that lights the corridor they are in. Blaster fire erupts from the weapons her companions use, but Aryn's focus is drawn ahead as she cuts down her first foe in a single action and diagonal swing.

Her first foe is cut clean in half and evaporates in ash and fire from the strike, only its armor clatters on the deck. Aryn passes a second foe, slicing through its leg, and in the same upward motion and momentum, she finishes her attack with a horizontal slash that removes a third one's head. Both bodies evaporate into a display of ash. Before Aryn can even enter a defensive stance, she is struck from the side, lifted up off her feet and slammed into the ground. The impact is so hard, that she releases her weapon and the lightsaber deactivates. Her pained voice cries out as she struggles to keep the entity from killing her using only her hands. Blurred vision make it impossible to see at the moment.

Around the group, several have fallen and are taken out of the fight. Two remain in the corridor. The one attacking Aryn Cole, and the other that has managed to latch itself to GROM.

It's with wide eyes that Kasia watches Aryn's lightsaber do its work, and then the wielder being attacked by one of these things. "Aryn!" she calls with both alarm, and concern, swinging her weapon around to aim at the thing on top of her. The first shot hits and is enough to blow the thing back. She rushes forward and tries to lean down and scoop up the dropped lightsaber, and if she's able to, hold the thing gingerly in one hand. "Are you okay?" she asks the trounced upon doctor.

David peers at the beam of blue light, realization hitting him. "Oh, that makes sense." he murmurs within earshot of only Merek probably. The thought is interrupted by one of the deadish ones sliding over to the pair, with David just.. casually allowing Merek to witness the power of his fully operational force pike. If the thing had a working nervous system it'd totally be fried. Like the rest of its head.

Merek takes a few shots, though because of the fact he is still managing with the bites, he does manage to shoot Grom, only because of the moving that he's doing as well as the creature and its position. He then shifts a bit with a nod also.

Sajin turns to see GROM being asailed. "OH noes... GROM." Not that the Houk needed his assistance but why not help each other slay mindless undead enemies. "Hold him there... to the left... no more to the right... Yeah THERE!" Sajin raises his wookiee made blade and then cuts down into the thing. It stops, going limp before spliting in half in a gooey bloody decaying slimey mess along where the blade sliced. It only leaves Grom's armor slightly scratch. A simple paint job. "LET US SLAY!" HE cheers. He winces as he raises his blade in victory.

Lightsabers are loud at close range and the blue glare makes Dyannah blink. She fires into the group with no apparent effect staying well behind the doctor and her efficient blade. Until one gets through the doctor's guard, "Never, never, never again," Dyannah complains through clenched teeth as she tries to pry the horrible thing off of the doctor. "Goddess of all the galaxies," she sits down suddenly ducking the blows rained on the thing. "Who has a medic for the doctor?"

"Beware!" Grom bellows as a blaster bolt burns near enough to single the scales of his arm through the armor. "The puny foes have learned to use blasters!" As Sajin hews the last of the clinging bits off Grom (Grom moved left when asked to move right, and right when asked to move left), the Houk peers around, axe poised and at the ready, "WHERE IS STINKING HUMAN WITH GUN?" Luckily for all (especially Merek) he is thoroughly distracted by, "OoooOOOoooh. Laser Sword. AND IT IS BLUE, LIKE GROM."

At least that's over now. Dyannah's shout reminds Nova of her usual secondary role. "I've got one," she says, slinging her carbine and hurrying to the Jedi-doctor's side. "I just need a sec to work... Dy, can you see where she's hurt?"

Everyone is regrouped in the lift as the hatch closes and idle, low tuned, elevator music plays. The lift has to go up 6 decks, and each time it passes one, it emits a soft ding, which makes Aryn cringe slightly from the noise. With her helmet retracted and face revealed, Aryn has a bloody lip where she's bitten it after being body slammed upon the ground. While her eyes had been dialated during her examination, she seemed with it enough to walk normally and even calculate how many fingers were held up.

The lift finally arrives at the bridge and the doors part to reveal a large platform area, and an even larger bridge area. The way to reach the bridge area was by taking a set of stairs. There were a total of 6 entities in the immediate area that slowly turned to face the lift as it opened and emitted a soft, catchy tune. Beyond the entities in the bridge area, looms a larger Herglic at the helm. It is not controlling the ship, but standing there. "MAAAYDAAAAYY... MAAYYYDAYYYYYYYYYYYY! MAAAYYYYYdayyyy." It screams over and over, its voice a mixture of growling that sounds entirely abnormal. It is the central threat that looms in front of the ship controls. The group can see in the viewport in front of the helm, that they have a locked course with the space station and are closing fast.

Kasia is there while Aryn is being checked over, making sure that she didn't conk her noggin' too hard before she slowly offers the laser sword back to the woman. "Be careful with this, if you see double or... anything, don't try to use it, okay? I've seen the damage those can do." Her own weapon is stowed back in it's holster for now, the much larger blaster still resting on her other hip. She doesn't pull that out, but she does adjust the sleeve of her armor slightly, just in case. They all pile into the lift and the music starts. "Oh, hey, I know this song." Which means she has to hum along with it, and she's mostly on key, though the humming immediately stops as the lift doors open and there are more of those things. MORE! "More of them?" Dismay, that's for sure dismay you hear in her tone. Rather than pull a blaster out, she simply lifts her arm and shoots a single laser shot at one of them, hitting it right in the leg and making it stagger to the side. "Grom, worthy enemy!" she points at the Herglic as she speaks, stepping aside so that the Houk can get by without knocking her over.

When the elevator doors open, Dave is looking away from them, instead sort of grooving to the tune. He doesn't even stop when Kasia stops humming, but the cries of MAYDAAAAAAY get his attention real quick. The pilot slash gunslinger presses himself against the wall, only turning and diving out behind a row of consoles before taking a shot at one of the uglies surrounding the Herglic. And now it knows where he is!

Merek looks to the bridge, then it's towards those rangers again, while he sighs. He then takes a moment to lift his blaster, while he takes a few nice shots that all strike the entities. "You know, we are dealing with a lot of these things when we come with you," he says then to Cole, "It's like they like you," he adds. His whole frame is soaked in his blood as well as the foes also.

Sajin shuffles into the lift with the others, crammed in likely. As Kasia starts to hum along with the tune, he whistles in harmony which sounds a bit odd through his helmets vocorder. Though, that comes to an end as the doors open to reveal the disturbing sight ahead. When they start piling out, Sajin charges forward and runs one completely through, before pulling the large blade out and bifuricating it in half much like he did to the one that was latched onto Grom earlier. Blood and guts spray everywhere, coating his armor into a completely differnt hue. "WHITNESS ME!" He's all sorts of pumped up from the killing. THE KILLING.

The only mitigating factor for the empath is that she doesn't have to listen to the entities' emotions. They are dead and dead to her. Tired as she is, it takes all of her training to keep everyone else's feelings at bay tightly packed together as they are in the bloody turbo lift with its upbeat music. Dyannah flinches with the doctor at each floor until she gets a lid on her own ability to block.

The door opening on more of the enemy as they bear down on the space station at full speed forces a weary sigh from the Zeltron. She draws her blaster moving between the targets wanting to make her shots count. One miss and one kill: make way for the Zeltron warrior, the unsung side of her people.

Grom also hums along with the lift music.

And then the bridge. "WORTHY FOE," the Houk bellows in delight upon Kasia's prompting, leaping forward in a tremendous Houk bound of happiness and launching his armored bulk past the rapidly thinning pack of once-humans to assail the second largest being on the bridge. A grazing blow of his axe slices a chunk of Herglic off- barely even enough to kill a human!- roaring, "You now do battle with the Mighty GROM. King of Fale! Conqueror of the Sky Road-" apparently he intends to recite the entire list.

And another room full of horrors. "This is getting old," Nova growls, leveling her carbine and knocking down two of the already-wounded horde of shambling, growling freaks. A third gets smacked good, but not taken down. "Almost clear... but there's still about a ton of ugly between us and those controls. And we /have/ to get to those controls!"

The group manages to dispatch the entities waiting for them outside the lift, the last of which is struck down by the sapphire blue bladed lightsaber being wielded by Aryn. It's a casual swing that appends the arm of her foe, but it all crumbles into ash in an instant.

Everyone makes their way down the stairs, witnessing the clash of titans that's a giant Houk and Herglic. AROUND them, and for those who passed spot, more entities have risen. TEN in total begin to swarm toward the Houk, which could spell the end of our noble and MIGHTY King of Fale; unless, our heroes can help him.

"Foe! Worth foe," Kasia amends, not that she NEEDS to, because Grom is ON it just like she knew he would be. She watches the Houk bound into action, unable to restrain a grin for just a moment. "Man, I'm so glad he's on my side." With all the entry entities out of the way she begins to limp closer to the epic battle happening, coming to an abrupt halt as she sees other things appear and converge on the King of Fale. "GROM, more foes!" she shouts the warning and then lifts the laser to shoot at one. It's not the best shot, and just manages to annoy one of them. Which is good because, you know, it's not going to go at Grom, but it IS going to come at her. She reaches down to yank the larger blaster out of it's holster, sleeve falling back into place to hide the wrist laser again.

David briefly closes his eyes. How are there MORE of them suddenly?! He was just going to watch the fight and relax, but now? Nah. He straightens his arm, not all the way, but shoots a single blast into one of the weird zombies' back, again doing not much else than drawing attention to himself. He pulls back behind his row of consoles, giving Merek a look and a few gestures with his head, eyebrows raised meaningfully.

Merek looks then to the entities coming to face Grom and all of the team, then he begins to focus as well. "Force, guide me," he says, then he lifts up his blaster with a light twirl, before he takes another three shots. For someone bitten into like he was, he's actually managed to take two from the fight with a swing about of his weapon.

Sajin stops as they get to the top of the stairs. He watches the exchange between the Hurglic and Grom before his gaze turns on the rising new combatants. "THE LINE IS FAULTERING!" He raises his blade, "TALLY HOEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS. FOR... SOMETHING!" Yes he's saying that wrong and atempting to be as kingly as possible as he charges down the stairs and after one of the entities attempting to keep Grom from his Epic battle. His blade strikes an arm that comes up to block but it can't cleave through the bone. The next swing is missed and his opponant is now on the counter offensive.

"fevierh fadewaetoo duphi uthome oodimoo if hoov, metudiel seaparh," Dyannah shrills as she pushes clear of the others to fire.

The warrior Zeltron shakes her blaster, "Drek! The power pack! With trembling fingers she rips a pack out of the belt at her waist and reloads it.

"CHAMPION of Nar-" Grom continues reciting, until he is struck in the chest hard enough to send him sliding several steps back. "GROM WAS NOT FINISHED," he roars, indignant and entirely deaf to Kasia's shouted warning. "GROM, who defeated the Wizard King of Corellia-" he declares, charging back at the nine foot undead space whale, "IS STRONGER THAN YOU." Another hewing axe blow strikes the colossal Cetacean.

Nova concentrates on keeping Grom's back clear; the Herglic looks like a tough enough takedown as it is. "Just don't let those things swarm Grom! When we get done with these, one of us needs to get to those controls, preferably somebody who can use them!"

It's total chaos as everyone comes down the stairs and begins their attack. Kasia has led them down first, and Aryn is near her, protecting her friend as best as she can. Blaster bolts go in every direction, entities sprinting to come after several of our heroes only to be cut down seconds before they reach their intended targets. That can't be said for everyone though. Nova is attacked and hauled to one side with such force and strength, IT MAY HAVE caught her completely off guard.

One entity has managed to reach Grom and stop his arm, while the Herglic takes two steps forward and plants a MASSIVE boot against Grom's chest to send him flying backward, into a console that is LITERALLY flattened upon impact.

Aryn 'disarms' an entity in a brilliant overhead slash that spills the humanoid to the ground, ashing away from view. Another, intended for Kasia, is run through the torso and intercepted. Aryn kicks it from the end of her lightsaber as it evaporates into ash in front of the two ladies. She attempts to catch a third, but it ducks beneath her swing, resulting in a distinct 'WHOOOOMSH' sound.

Kasia is in the process of pulling the blaster out of its holster when Aryn runs through the being that was charging for her. "Thanks," she says with a quick grin at the saber wielding doctor beside her. With that one down, she raises the larger blaster and aims at the thing holding onto Grom, eyes narrowing for a few seconds. Aim, aim, aaaaannnd FIRE. The shot from the 54 is brutal, sending the thing flying off the Houk. "Grom are you okay?" she calls, but she honestly expects no answer because there's still a worthy foe for him to axe.

David wipes a sleeve on his helmet, pistol trained on one of the remaining baddies. He just wants to watch the fight, dangit. When one of the zambos runs.. or.. you know, shuffles quickly at him, he manages to squeeze off a single bolt in its chest, sending it back. For a second. In fact, just long enough for David to check the capacity on his ammo pack. One shot left, best make it count.

Merek keeps shooting that blaster, in fact in most pistols you would be reloading, while it looks like he keeps on firing also. He then shifts so he can slide between two of the entities, shooting Dave's twice, then he shifts the weapon so he can shoot another, while he twirls the weapon and also calls to the others, "You all doing alright guys?" he asks also.

There is a moment of clarity from Sajin, who may act silly or just plane stupid... because he is pretty stupid. More like STUPID PRETTY... He looks over to Grom as he's hit twice, regaining his focus just as the attack from his opponant comes. He knows he needs to make this quick. When a blaster bolt finds his prey, he moves on to the next. He swings towards one of the healthy ones that havn't been hit yet but it's fast. Spining with the large blade, the Third Place Champion of Nar Shaddaa cleaves the massive work of metal into a leg, breaking the bone but not cleaving it off. As he pulls the blade out Sajin growls, backing away slightly to renew his stance. "Grom..." He starts, "Don't you kriffing die on me." That said right as the blast from Diana causes him to raise a hand from the spark. "OUCH. KRIFFF! COME ON!"

They have spread the fight between them leaving the Worthy Opponent to the only one among them capable of keeping its attention as they still speed towards the space station. "The controls! Someone has to get to the controls as soon as possible!" Blaster reloaded Dyannah zeros in on one of the dead attacking Sajin, she wings it, only to her chagrin to miss a second shot and singe the man's armor. "Goddess, Sajin. Are you alright?"

"Grom.. is.. HERE," the heavily wounded Houk grinds out through snarling teeth as he hauls himself up out of the wrecked panel he had impacted, a few sparks raised in his wake. "NOW.. stand still-" he orders the undead Herglic, taking the botched, battered, and much abused axe in both hands, and roaring at the Worthiest Foe, again. Another cleaving blow with the vibroaxe, and the big dumb Houk manages to chop one leg out from under the big beast. "Not so TALL now, are you? Actually- yes, you are still very tall, but not when Grom CHOPS OFF WORTHY WHALE HEAD.

Nova staggers as one of the ravening fiends slams into her as much by accident as anything else. She manages to brace herself and keep from going down, but it's got a friend coming for her, too.

She brings the solid stock of her carbine up into its face, smashing it back, then triggers a burst into its midsection, putting it on the deck for good. The other is staggering in such an unpredictable way that she can't hit it. "Someone get to the controls! Or what we do to this freakshow is all for nothing!" she reminds the group.

The remaining entities are blasted away, or in the case of Aryn's, slashed thoroughly through by her lightsaber. The battle of the titans has drawn to an obvious advantage as the Houk, King of Fale, has managed to handicap the massive Herglic's leg leaving it open to attack. Aryn joins the MIGHTY King in battle, stepping by when the Houk has moved. One slash cuts through the Herglic's armor with ease, and it's followed by another! Aryn cries out, the blonde haired woman, spinning aside as the massive foe attempts to hit Grom and misses valiantly. Her focus is taking out this threat.

The ship is locked on an imminent path for the station, and its clearly ahead of the vessel as seen through the view port. Five minutes until impact! What do our heroes do?!

"I'm fine, I'm fine," Kasia says over her shoulder, though she's still limping and hurting, but that's just how it's gonna be until she can take a nice disgusting bacta bath. "Get him, Grom," she cheers the living Houk as he taunts the undead Herglic. Her overly large blaster is leveled on the undead monstrisity in front of her and squeezes the trigger, adding yet more damage to the seemingly unstoppable thing. "We need to stop this thing, or turn it, we're running out of space before we crash." She just hopes the console they need wasn't the one pancaked by Grom.

David takes a brief moment to catch his breath, then points at Nova to tell her he gets what she's saying. He jumps out of his cover, shooting the last of his ammo pack at the towering Herglic while he crouch-runs over to the control panels, standing there to start mashing buttons to restore control and actually accomplish what the team came here for.

Merek takes a few shots at the creature that the people are managing to deal with, then he nods while he looks to the others also, making his way about to see as well what the others are doing, "So, what's next?" he asks, watching while people are moving in on the creature as well.

Sajin drags his blade across the hull plating, it sparking as he does so. "I am KING Sajin Kovo Kah-Verrni of Drik! Friend of King Grom, great conquorer of the SKY ROAD!" The blade is raised, "And your mother Kriffin' worst nightmare." He swings the blade, double handed at its good leg, slamming into it before jabbing it through the torso. The blade is withdrawn and the handsom hapan steps away to renew his attack. He stands there and Growls at the thing, covered in guts an blood with a blade that's far too big for him.

The deck is slippery with blood and the awful fluid that drips from the dead. Grom's noble battle continues while the ship hurtles for the station. Coms should be flashing red proximity alerts for the speed they are approaching the immovable object. Dyannah's feet nearly slide out from underneath her as she sidles by the battling behemoths to find herself before a locked down computer system. Blind desperation has her calling up operating systems and trying to override them. Holoprojections roll with data as she takes a guess. The systems open to her, she has no time to glory in the victory. They must reorient now: turning to ship controls she programs in the course change with a few deft motions. The ship lurches; the brilliant light of the sun they are headed for opaques the viewport.

As the blaster bolts fly into the fray, as laser swords and ship shifts flash light over the gore-strewn bridge, Grom- bleeding heavily from a horrific array of wounds, himself- adds another roaring hack to the undying beast, a rattling laugh rising in his throat and bloody, smiling teeth bared in exultation. "WORTHY FOE," he repeats.

The battle sees the Herglic champion surrounded. It weathers blow after blow, shot after shot. All the while, it continues to scream Maaaaydaaaaay! Until finally, following the MIGHTY Grom's attack, Aryn plunges her lightsaber into its chest. If there had been any life in the mighty monster, it faded as the Jedi withdrew her weapon in a fluid motion and stepped away. The massive Herglic slumped to one side with a loud collision of weight, and its body began to flake away, burning until all that remained was the clothing and armor it had worn in life.

The ship is guided away from the station at the last possible moment, and its systems lock onto the star. Guidance systems are taken offline then to keep the ship from stopping itself from being destroyed. Now, all that remains, is getting off this rekking ship.

When at last the Herglic fades away, Kasia glances around first and then slowly holsters her weapon. She then looks to the display to see where they're headed, and breathes out a sound of relief that it's not just about to crash. It's headed into a STAR, but that's a problem for 10 minutes from now if they don't get out of here fast enough. "Well done," she says to everyone, looking both weary but ready to move. "So, is there a way to get out of here? I don't think we can get out on the same ship we came in on, right? Whatever we're doing, we should go, because that's starting to look too big for my liking," she points at the light from the star the ship is heading into.

While the Herglic is being savagely murdered, David is surveying a whole bunch of screens when Dyannah unlocks the whole thing. One catches his attention, and when he walks over he announces, "If anyone sees a sign leading to a "Captain's Hangar", there's a shuttle there. Totally intact and from what I can tell, no creepy crawlies around it." He starts looking around, pretty sure it would have a turbolift of some kind leading straight to it or an adjacent hallway.

Merek looks to the others, then he nods a bit, while he makes a way with them to the shuttle. He doesn't talk about it all, he's focused upon the places that he was bit by the creatures as well.

Sajin watches the creature die, "THat's right... kriffin' dust in the wind." He flicks the blood and guts from his blade before replacing it on his back and looking towards the view port. "Ehhhh... yeah not so good." A look around, "Yeah I think it's like... port." He means Starboard. Reguardless he starts walking that way.

Relief makes her knees weak, Dyannah announces what the pilots among surely know: "We are headed into the nearest star. Time to abandon ship!" A brief grin for David's prowess at finding the one possible escape left them after having destroyed their own shuttle on approach. "Let's do it!" She pulls up schematics looking for their escape route while behind her Sajin announces the obvious. The Zeltron is right behind him.

"Grom will hit the star with an axe!" the loopy Houk roars at the darkening viewport and the growing sun on ahead of the ship. Blinking yellow eyes as his significant weight shifts from boot to boot and his balance is threatened but not overthrown, Grom bumps into an engineering console, leaving a dent. "Where are Grom-friends going? Abandon ship? No.. no, that sounds like running away. ..But all foes are defeated. Secret- Slapping Human?" He voices, while starting to stagger after the others, one massive finger raised with the following question: "Instead of 'abandon ship' can we say we are CAPTURING a new shuttle? This sounds much better to Grom."

David is the one responsible for spotting the way they should go. It's the Captain's cabin, where a lift is inside. They listen to the same catch elevator tune before arriving at the hangar to find the shuttle waiting in the dark. Inside the cockpit, they find a remote that opens the hatch for the hangar, and after some prep, the shuttle leaves the cruiser to its fate. Minutes later, the cruiser is engulfed in flames before finally, exploding in space. The explosion is blinded in contrast to the brightness of the star. The horror of that ship is over. The day won.
